Hey Buddy

Before you try to establish a WiFi connection, you should check if you have enabled the WLan card!
Did you do that?

If this is not the case, check this box!
By pressing the FN + F8 would as a result of conditions:

Activate the BT
Activate WLan
Activate 3G only (some models)
Turn on all devices
Disable all devices

Press the FN + F8 key several times in order to get the active WLan!

I put t know what icon on the desktop you want to say but perhaps you intervene on the Wlan icon that appears in the taskbar.

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.

    Hi Virginia,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

After the description of the problem, I understand that you can not connect to a wireless network on windows vista computer.

I appreciate your efforts on this issue, however no need for you to worry we are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

Help me with the information below.

-Don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

I suggest you to disable temporarily security software and then check if you are able to connect.

    Method 1

You can also temporarily disable the security software and check if it works.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important: These steps may increase your security risk. These steps may also make the computer or the network more vulnerable to attack from malicious users or malicious software such as viruses. We recommend the process that this article describes to enable programs to operate as they are designed for, or to implement specific program features. Before you make these changes, we recommend that you evaluate the risks that are associated with implementing this process in your particular environment. If you decide to implement this process, take additional measures to protect the system. We recommend that you use this process only if you really need this process.

    Method 2

Reset the router and see if that helps.

Note: to help you reset the router, you can consult the manual that came with the router or the router contact manufacturer.

You can see this help article.

  • dv6t-6100 laptop loses the connection to the wireless network

I n HP 6100 dv6t Select Edition Entertainment Notebook PC running Windows 7 (64 bit) with a card Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN. After starting the laptop and looking e HP Connection Manager to display the message connected WiFi only immediately disconnected.  This just continues as long as the computer is on.  All work well for at least a year before it started, and to my knowledge has not changed have been made.  I have internet Comcast with TM602G ARRIS cable modem and a Netgear WNR1000 router.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the network adapter, unpluging power and reset the cable modem and the router and start up the laptop in safe mode with network without success.  Connection to the laptop computer directly to the router works fine.  I also have a second laptop running windows 7 with two IPads some smartphones and my printer HP connected wireless without any problem.  I also tried turning off other devices with no luck.

Thanks again, already tried to reset the modem, the router and the PC as you suggested and that did not work but I tried closing all other devices connected to the wireless router and the laptop connected properly.  Guess I will just have to turn on devices one at a time to see if one of them is to interfere or just for many connected devices.  It's again the aid.

  • Suddenly can't connect to the wireless network: limited connectivity or none, I tried to bugs, no help!

I have a laptop with Windows Vista. Recently, I upgraded my home wireless internet connection, which meant the laptop could go online (previously I had just used online office). It worked very well without any problems, until I enabled him to download updates windows (don't know if it was a service pack or only some updated files). Now, I am no longer able to connect, I don't always get limited connectivity or none even if the wireless signal is "excellent". I tried 2 ' difficulty his "from microsoft, including TCP/IP, no effect. I tried to turn off my IPv6 setting, no effect.

I am considering currently switch to XP Pro, even though I grew to like the 'look' of Vista, so it would be a shame. But I have to be able to get the laptop online!

Any help gratefully received... I'm not very tech-savvy so I need the stupid version :)

  • to connect to the wireless network

I reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium and could not connect to wireless network but to connect to Ethernet, I want to know how to set up wireless network

    Hello

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Above everything is OK and it connects to the wireless router. Log in from any computer which is, or can be connected to the router with a wire wireless, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless streaming is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.
