New router, lost wireless connection

Hello

I have a wireless photosmartplus B209 printer and recently changed my router, now I can't send the printer to one of our laptops. I know the ssid and the new router network key, where can I get these to get the printer to print wireless? Have spent hours on this nothing will do, any suggestions gratefully received! I'm computer semi-literate if not bad words please!

Thank you in anticipation

rogerthelodger

Since you reset the printer back to factory settings, you will need to go through the USB to the configuration wireless again. Looks like you already know this, but it gives you problems. I would uninstall the software and the driver for the printer from the computer. Once you have done, you will then be able to install the software and the driver for the printer again. When installing, it should ask you how you want to install the printer. Tell him you want to do a wireless installation. Installation should then ask you if the printer is already on the network, or if you need to connect the printer to the network via a temporary USB connection. Choose the option that uses a temporary USB connection. Who should return you to printing. I will include links to the document that will help you get this all sorted. Let me know what happens.

    Hi bketchy,

This new router has two differnet built-in radio. You must ensure that you connect to the printer the correct SSID name for 2.4 GHZ radio. If you have both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ configured with the same SSID, you chnange the SSIP mame which should allow you to connect to the printer. Follow the steps outlined in the document below.

  • New router lost Time MAchine

Now later in my problems without end with networking...

This morning I installed a new router (former a packed) which is identical to the former - a BT Home Hub 5.

I had a list established this:

... that is the time Machine / aka basic Station (why there so many names!) has been connected to my network via Wi - Fi.

Now I have the new road, everything is set back to how it was before aside, I lost the TC. The reason is that the new router, even if I have named themselves, they have different WiFi key password (of course).

    I see this now:

I can see in the upper left corner, he found a point WiFi (TC), but whenever I'm going to add it, it seems to want to replace one of my other components. All I want to do is get back to where I was, with her concected 'Abbey Home Office' and not 'Cook' etc. I join my back ups of the last year to be always accessible! This is the point of a Machine of time after all...

When I installed it initially, I'm sure that I had to set up wired - but can I use the WAN or LAN port on the TC and can I connect on the Mac or the router.

    So confused...

It really should connect the TC in one of the other airports... the main router or what you called Hub... it makes no difference as long as the main router is also a gigabit.

Setup the TC in bridge mode and create a... wireless network you can use the same name for the wireless as the rest of your network... but it should be noted that this sometimes causes issues if you have the computer plugged into another airport or the main router... for now a problem... Time Capsule recovery online... (It's a Capsule time btw...) Time Machine is the software on the computer that performs the backup... the two are not related in any way, but apple has mightily confused the issue. )

If the automatic configuration does not do it manually.

Here is my latest version of el capo...

    Hey @gingerjean1,

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that you have replaced your router and are having trouble with your Deskjet F4580 of connection to the network. I can help you with that.

As you use Macintosh 10.7 I recommend the use of a Windows PC to install the printer on and then to add to your wireless network. If this isn't a practical option there are a number of things we could try.

    Apple Software Update

    1. Click on your Apple icon and go to software updates.
    2. Install the available updates.
    3. Apple's HP printer driversdownload.

If during the installation there is no wireless options then:

    1. Go to your Apple system and print and Scan preferences icon.
    2. Double-click your printer icon on the left side of this screen.
    3. In the pop-up window, click on settings, utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.
    4. In this new window, you must have a wireless tab along the top, that you can click.
    5. On the left side, we are looking for a wireless configuration wizard.
    6. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to add the printer to your wireless network.
    7. Once the printer is connected, disconnect the USB cable to the back of the printer.
    8. Return to the Apple, system, print, and Scan preferences.
    9. Click on the button "+" at the bottom left.
    10. In this window, select your printer.
    11. If there is a line indicating the use that says Airprint click to select your printer in the list instead.
    12. Click on Add.
    13. Try to print.

    Ad-Hoc

If the method above does not allow you to connect the printer wireless, then it can work.

    1. Perform a factory reset the printer. I will include guidance on how to do so shortly in a private message.
    2. Turn on the printer.
    3. Press the button on the front of the printer wireless.
    4. Wait for about a minute.
    5. On your Mac or another wireless device, you should see a network with a name similar to "HP Deskjet F4500 XX Print" listed. To connect to this network.
    6. Press and hold the scan button (the icon of the printer under the red x on the printer) for 10 seconds. When you release the printer should print a test wireless report.
    7. On the device you connected to the printer, open a web browser and type the IP address in the bar of address exactly as shown on the test report.
    8. You should have a network tab along the top of this window.
    9. On the left side, we are looking for a wireless configuration wizard.
    10. When you run that must connect the printer to your wireless network.
    11. Once the printer is connected, disconnect the USB cable to the back of the printer.
    12. If you have connected your Mac to the printer above and then reconnect the printer to your wireless network now.
    13. Return to the Apple, system, print, and Scan preferences.
    14. Click on the button "+" at the bottom left.
    15. In this window, select your printer.
    16. If there is a line indicating the use that says Airprint click to select your printer in the list instead.
    17. Click on Add.
    18. Try to print.

If it allows you to connect your printer to your wireless network and then do other forum users know clicking on accept as Solution below my post. Even if you have any other questions please let me know.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a nice day!

  • Equium L40 - lost wireless connection

I have an Equium L40-156 under Vista and wireless became intermittent. The switch light would go out or maybe turn on at startup. In the end, I did a restore of the entire system from scratch and installed the latest drivers (Realtek) wireless.

This seemed to cure the problem and it has been fine for the last 2 months. However, the light is now out again (it was working an hour ago), and there is no wireless connection.

I tried a restore of the system and also installed the latest driver from Toshiba, but I still can't run. I hesitate to start over again once it takes all day to load programs and updates. Can anyone suggest what I can do or is this another bug of Vista?

    Windows Pro 10

I try again later and it does not find the connection at all.  Other devices in the House are connected, so I know that the real wireless works.

I called HP Tech Support, they tell me it's a matter of Internet provider, I call AT & T and they say it's a problem of HP. I call HP Technical Support and they always say it is a problem of ATT and I have to tell them to configure the settings. I call ATT and they cannot diagnose and insist that it is a problem of HP.  I'm not at a loss.

It is possible, depending on when your new computer was actually produced and implemented for Windows 10, that the Intel Wireless LAN Driver should be updated - or at least reinstalled.

  • HP Photosmart B209a - lost wireless connection

I use the printer above and it worked perfectly on a BT Home Hub 2-57GM. I recently added a Time Capsule from Apple in the network and now use it as my default around the home wifi even if it is connected by a cable to the BT Home Hub. I operate two apples two OS x 10.6.8

I ran a report on the printer problems and the only 'FAIL', it's that the printer settings were not consistent with the settings of the wireless router. If I change my wifi on the home hub original only it still comes back with the same error message.

Any ideas as to what I should do?

Make sure all your devices are connected to a router, probably the time Capsule.  The BT home hub will give probably different IP addresses that the router from Apple.  The BT Home Hub will probably give 192.168.X.X.  Apple will probably give 10.0.X.X.

If the B209a has the wrong IP, reinstall it, connect to the router from Apple.  Make sure that the wireless BT is disabled (recommended) or has a different network name.

    Hello

Your wireless network card is recognized correctly in the Device Manager?
Do you see a yellow exclamation mark in device-> network cards Manager?
    Check it!

If there is a yellow exclamation points, it means that your Wlan driver was not installed.

Try to restore OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool. Maybe some update Microsoft screwed up the WLAN functionality. Very often the driver WLAN is displayed as an option to update.

Try this as the first step.

  • Adsl2mue modem to a router WRT45G wireless connection

The right way to implement is to connect the modem to the internet port of the router and configure the router to connect to the internet. I recommend that you try to get this race. The alternative that you MENTION is more difficult and you need to have the computer connected to the modem running at all times.

What you have to do is first set up the modem mode "bridge." In bridge mode, it works like a normal modem.

Then, you can configure your router for a PPPoE connection using the username and password that you got from your ISP.

Connect the modem to the internet port of the router. Also, be sure to unplug the USB modem to the computer. The modem doesn't handle a single connection through the ethernet port or the USB port and you don't want that your computer may interfere with the connection of the router.

When everything is configured, you should be able to check the status of the connection on the router at http://192.168.1.1/ in the tab status check that you have a connection.

If this is not the case, try the cloning MAC of the router. Clone the MAC address of the computer that you have used before with the modem. See if the router then connects.
