no boot device message

I have a portable hpG60-230us with windows vista. I accidentally pushed the table that contains the laptop and he fell about two feet on the ground. When I picked up the computer was still on, and then the message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key" appears. How can I fix the problem?

Hello:

You probably damaged the drive hard or jarred it loose.

You can try removing and reseating the drive. (Remove the battery and the power of a/c first).

If this doesn't solve the problem, go into the BIOS and run the hard drive diagnostics test.  If it passes, then you need to reinstall the operating system.

If it does not or diagnostics reports that no hard drive is installed, then you will need to buy a new hard drive and recovery disks.

I read that I should try to get into the bios, however, I can't get into the bios. I tried del, esc, f2, f12 (key by default to get into the bios for my laptop) I also tried Fn f2, f12 Fn. None works.

I have tried syndicated harddrive th and th repeat same tests as indicated above, can always not in the bios.

I have also tried to take out the battery and press the Start button for 30 seconds and replace the battery. still no luck.

I also tried to plug in my external hard drive via the port usb but stillthE same messages.

    Could someone please help?

    The F2 key is good!
You have to press F2 to turn on/off the device!

As mentioned by BobRock; Press several times on the line!

In some cases, you will need to press the INS, then F2 to access the BIOS. This is required for some units when supervisor password has been set.

By the way: PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable message appears because the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN. This usually happens in the case where the HARD disk cannot be found. Mainly because of HARD drive hardware problem

  • Satellite on L9W - B Mini - Inaccessible Boot Device

    Hi all

I installed win10 and decided to do a complete reset that I gave this computer to someone else to use.
After the reset, it does not start properly and fails with an "inaccessible boot device message".

I created a USB boot with a version of win8.1 to install, but no touchscreen or keyboard works, so I can't go ahead with the installation.

someone had this problem? I want to refer to toshiba that I'm tired of this device

    Thank you

Hi, I installed Windows 10 and reset mine causing this problem, it seems Windows 10 upgrade does not work properly.

The drivers for the keyboard and touchscreen are not standard, so are not integrated to the version 8/10 bootable usb. You can get a normal usb hub usb microphone and plug in a usb keyboard/mouse to go or if you have created a recovery drive as Toshiba tell you in the instructions it will actually contain the right key drivers.

To boot from the recovery disc press FN N (F12) as soon as the machine is running and the Toshiba logo shows, and he will give you the option of what to start from.

Hi I want to m6 - k088ca it came with Windows 8, I've updated to 8.1 has a 64-bit operating system. I spilt tea on it and fried hard drive.

Try to save money I bought a 500 GB hard drive instead of a 1 TB of HDD, it can with. Install it and then through the process to implement the recovery program and try to load the image of the system on my USB key. Recovery program did come and I tried to load the System Image to my USB disk hard nine, but nothing happened.

I have only kept getting no device found startup message after the attempt to load of the System Image. Discover your forum, I discovered that I could not use the Image of the system on nothing less than what was originally on my computer a 1 TB hard drive. So, I went out and I tried to install Image system on it. I was unable to implement the recovery program I had before. I went to the boot options and he set up to boot from the key USB didn't keep get no boot device found message. After trying several different ways to do it, I made a test drive and kept getting unavailable message. I've reset the hard drive wiped clean all connections and was still unable to do a hard drive test, so I assumed that there was something wrong with the hard drive has returned to where I got it from. Then went to another bank and picked up another.

First thing I did was a fast hard drive test and it happened.

I tried to install e system on nw HDD image with no luck. I have never been able to implement the program of recovery since that first time. Then use this tool to make the file iso bootable on a 4 GB + DVD or USB flash drive

Hi people I was wondering if anyone of you kind people out there could help me. I have a Satellite C650-17Z model and when turn on is the message I get:

    + Intel UNDI, PXE - 2.0 (builkd 083) +.

+ No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.

Can anyone any sense of the message above?

    Hey Buddy,

This error message means that an incorrect boot order is set and the computer tries to start between LAN port to the internal HARD disk space. It should therefore go into BIOS setup and change the boot order. Put the HARD drive as the first boot device internal.

Take a look at this article from Toshiba:

  • Satellite C660: message: reboots and select good boot device

    Hello

I dropped the laptop today literally a few inches from the ground, it slipped from my hand as I was placing it on the ground. He fell flat.

Now I see the message "reboot and select proper boot device."

I tried a few different options that I read, and I see the HARD drive in the BIOS F2 thing or whatever it is called. If it is recognized, but I can't seem to move in the message. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

PS I will need clear instructions, I'm not stupid, but I need to explain. I don't understand some of the pieces.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think that your HARD drive is bad.
I think that you have not checked it correctly in the BIOS.

Please go to BIOS once more, by pressing F2.
Now on the first page, you will see date, time, details of CD/DVD drive and you should also see the details of the disk (size, name)
    You see that?

Otherwise, the HARD disk is not initialized by the BIOS and this means that, because of the fall, the HARD disk has been damaged.

  • no boot device found message after that finishing recovery disks and restart...

I recently bought a new Wester Digital hard drive my laptop HP provided with is death/failed, but now I have no found boot device / error message even after complete installation floppies and disk 4 is ejected.  He did the whole insert the disc 1, 2, 3 and 4, and he went to 100%, then said to remove recovery media and press on continue, so that he can restart and complete the process, but it just reboots the computer, gets the no boot message device and stays there.  There's too much during the night and still the same message.  After disc 4 finished what she also said not to touch anything or do something, so I did everything, he said to do.  The hard drive is new, as I said, and is the same 500 GB which was the one I replaced.  The recovery disc were not created by me, they came with my laptop when I bought from futureshop in late October 2010.  It is out of warranty too, that's why I'm looking for a solution...

    Any help would be welcome...

I did something else I looked and everything got up and running, so it's all good now.

    Hello

Installation/configuration (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you boot then watch the screen - make sure that the hard drive is set
first of all in the boot order.

Check with Support from Dell, their online documentation, diagnosis and ask in their forums on any

My computer worked fine Windows Vista Home Premium. I stop him, he moved to another room, reconected everything and now it won't start. I just got this message:

First: Hardware Monitor with a lot of temperature and tensions etc.

Then: Reboot and select proper boot device.

You will probably have to open the computer case and check the cable from hard drive, graphics card, RAM, etc., to make sure everything is neat and tight fitting.

Remove cards, and then reinstall them using to ensure that they are properly installed.
