No devices under IDE channels?

Well, I had trouble reading and ripping CDs and DVDs since I did a clean installation of Windows Vista on my computer about a month ago. I discovered that the DMA is not allowed from this article. I'll have a similar experience with this guy, and have almost the same exact computer.

So I clicked on one of the links gave someone from there, if I could fix it myself. They say enable DMA. Except when I go into my IDE channels to do this, no device does not appear. How can I make it appear? Here is a picture of the properties of the IDE channel. http://i50.Tinypic.com/2vab150.jpg

I hope this helps.

    Hello suneel

Sorry to interrupt this discussion but I feel somehow, he's going in the wrong direction.
If I understand you well you want to just install on your Satellite A300 WXP. Am I right about that?

On this forum, that you will find, I believe, hundreds of threads with description Specifies how to do that.
What you need is WXP CD facilities with integrated SATA driver.

Check it please this page. You will find beautiful description how to find SATA drivers. At the end you can also find the link to the guide for "Slipstreamer SATA driver in the Windows XP boot cd using nLite".

When the WXP is installed just continue with the installation of the driver Windows XP Edition family. If your laptop is supported WXP you can find them on the download page of Toshiba.

    I hope this helps.

  • 802.11 wireless pen drive recognized as 'unknown device' under USB. Help, please.

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 2. This is the version of XP OEM. Processor Intel pentium 4 2.00 GHz. 1.50 GB of ram.

After an unknown incident (i suspect headphones usb), my wireless USB key has ceased to be recognized as such and become everything simply an "unknown device" under "USB bus controllers. Although windows tells me there is no drivers for the device installed, the wireless pen drive is signed with the Publisher of Microsoft Windows with a version of driver 5.1.2600.0, Microsoft being the driver provider.

Compound number, the 802.11 device is listed under "Other devices" when 'show hidden devices' is selected and the variable "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices" entered "environment variables", but is washed out-showing that the system thinks that the device is not currently connected to the computer. In addition, under details, it displays error code 45: the device is not connected to the computer. And it is. It's very hip. as cement and connected tape.

I plugged the wireless key USB in all the usb ports on the computer, every time with her recognized as 'unknown device' under usb controllers. I entered in the safe mode, uninstalled all the usb controllers and root usb hub drivers and let windows the respawn after reboot in order to solve the problem. No dice.

I also plugged the USB in a different desktop and it works like a charm, so the issue is not with the hardware.

Clearly there that a conflict with drivers/registry/God knows what, but I'm at a loss. Somehow, windows has taken its decision and the player associated with "unknown device" and I see no way to make the system "forget" that the USB was never connected. How can I remove the ghost driver "unknown device" manually or force windows to re-associate the key wireless USB with "other devices" (with the yellow? mark) and not this useless usb driver "unknown device"?

  • Driver primary IDE channel necessary to install Vista

    System

    Card mother Intel D850EMV2

    HD IDE 120 g

I can do a clean install with no problems.  However, I want to dual boot with Windows 2000.  Install Vista wants me to the floppy with the driver for the primary IDE channel.  I tried the motherboard cd but no dice and no update on the Intel site because they don't support Vista on this MB.  Where can I find the driver that I need or a work around?

I built this system in 2002 for a very specific purpose with specific hardware that does not work with Vista, with the web like that, it's nice to use Vista to surf.

    Help

    Hi Jay,.

Thanks for the display of the query to the Microsoft community.

I wish to inform you that if the motherboard is not supported by Windows Vista, then the chances of installation are very thin. Even if you get the OS installed, you will face many problems of performance and stability.

You must install the software at the beginning of the installation process. Vista invites you to add the IDE drivers. Try the manufacturing of hard drive to find the drivers that are supported by Windows Vista.

See article which contains information about the status of Vista system.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • My HP DVD/ROM does not appear in the device under my computer Manager or when I scan for readers.

My HP DVD/ROM does not appear in the device under my computer Manager or when I scan for readers, most of the time.  Every now and then it will be visible and I can use it but 90% of the time it does not exist.  I tried the regedit fix, nothing.  I tried the program Microsoft Fix It, it tells me it cannot locate a DVD/ROM.  I removed, cleaned and reinserted my DVD/ROM drive, but no difference.  I tried everything, except the upgrade to Windows 7... who will be my last resort.

    Hello gargoyle28m,

If your hardware is not detected to upgrade to Windows 7 is not a resolution. This issue may be caused if the DVD drive is faulty or connections loose on the mother board. You may need to check the connections. I suggest you check if the DVD drive works on another computer. You can contact the manufacturer of your computer to help you with this problem.

  • IDE channel - check the State DMA/PIO

    Hello

I tried to check the DMA/PIO State of my system, but I couldn't find something that mentions primary/secondary channel under "controllers IDE ATA/ATAPI" in Device Manager. From what I've read in various forums, it is the way to do it, and I also noticed that a few people could not find the ' primary/secondary way' thing as well. (but I could not find a solution to the issue)

My problem is that some USB ports (2 of 4) I used normally would slow when I transfer data to and from the external HARD drive. Now, I've been move to the other 2 USB ports, and I could see the difference in the rate of transfer. This has happened before with my XP system, but I was able to access the channel primary/secondary and turned them all to DMA, which is something that I can't do now with my other Vista system. So now I would really check on that, and I need help to make...

    My system:
Windows Vista (updated with all the Windows update)
    Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 2.67 GHz
    4 GB OF RAM
nVidia GeForce GTX 260-1 GB memory
    Realtek/Creative SoundBlaster
HARD drive 320 (which is good, it's almost full, leaving about 20 GB of free space, but the problem that I mentioned above happened when I had still 60 GB of free space, as a few months ago)

It would be great if someone can help me to brighten my days here. I'm not a geek, but certainly not an illiterate as well.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi PC45,.

In case you can't find primary/secondary channel under "controllers IDE ATA/ATAPI" in Device Manager, you can try to expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and check for ATA channel 0 or right-click on it and click Properties. Later, click on the tab for setting advance, check if you can see the status of the DMA mode.

Because you are connected to the USB and the data transfer rate is slow, and it works fine when connected to a different USB port, I suggest you to update the USB drivers on the motherboard manufacturer's website.

You can also navigate to the link below and follow the steps to update the drivers on your computer.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Also, if you have any security software installed on your computer, you can try to temporarily disable and check if the date transfer rate is better. If you find the security software, the origin of the problem, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if there is no parameter to be changed. Later, re-enable the security software.

I hope this helps. Let us know the status.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Strange device under shared

This morning, I noticed that in addition to the other two computers in the House I also have a device with a generic icon showing under shared in the sidebar of the Finder. His name is brw904xxxxxx (xxxxx are numbers more I'm leaving aside just in case they might reveal something sensible). There are other wireless devices in the House including a PlayStation 4 and Sonos speakers, but they have been around for centuries. This camera just showed this morning and I know that this is not something belonging to neighbors because they are the snowbirds and won't be back for a few weeks yet. Any ideas what it is?

Maybe you have a brother printer? I found another thread on Apple Support communities where another user had the same problem. I hope this helps. Maybe you can also try looking at the MAC address of your printer (that is of course if you do not have a brother printer) and check to see if it corresponds to the top. - Mystery PC showing in Shared tab on the sidebar

  • No devices under Max

    Hello again everyone.

I looked through the other posts and have tried all suggested without a bit of luck. (other that a complete uninstall, re - install)

I'm forced by my Department to upgrade systems to Windows 7 64-bit and a computer Lenovo ThinkCentre shinny new M series.

My problem is with MAX v5.0.  I have a PCIe-6351 and a PCI-6052E installed in the system, windows recognizes the card and according to the Device Manager, everything works fine.  The problem is that devices are not appear in MAX under the tree of devices and Interfaces.  I'm refreshing the tree and it is said, it is looking, but he never finds anything.  I used the tools > Reset Configuration option and have nothing done.

Could there be a security features that are installed that may stop MAX from the voting systems hardware correctly?  Only, I only ask because I was told that some hard enough security practices will be implemented with the new computers, I am about to receive.

I gained administrative rights and run MAX under an administrator account, but still no luck.

This is a new installation and I received no errors, everything seemed to install correctly.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Your help is as always, very much appreciated.

    Steven M.

Well, my problem is solved. MAX recognizes all my devices and everything works as it should.  The solution is a bit anti-climatic

The source of the problem was that NEITHER System Web Server (NiApplicationWebServer) service did not, who stopped the mDNS responder service of the race, which, in turn, stopped the service of charger OR to run.

Try to manually start the MSDN OR system Web Server & National Instruments that service would result in an error 1075, you try to start the device loader neither resulted an error 1068.

My Department of systems had no ideas on what safety measures or protection of viruses on their end parameters might be the cause of the problem.

    Solution:

Control Panel > programs > programs and features > National Instruments software > uninstall / change > measure Automation & Explorer > repair.

After the repair, everything works fine, and all of the above services are running.

The installation process has shown without errors or problems, so I am at a loss as to why he needed repair.  But whatever it is, problem solved.

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!
