No image on laptop when turned on

What's wrong with my laptop? When I turn it on, I see no picture... a few shades of gray and blue with stripes? Sometimes when I turn it on, it is normal.

Hello

These lines indicate corruption graphics driver or lack of graphic material.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your laptop > Search a drivers and download article > search your laptop model number > your operating system > drivers for it: either video / graphic / Chipset (according to the wording it) > download and install the drivers.

And if it's a graphics driver corrupted, a system restore to before this problem started can fix.

http://bertk.MVPs.org/html/restoresysv.html

If that fixed it, it seems to me be a problem of graphic material.

If under warranty, contact the manufacturer.

If it is not under warranty, contact a repair shop, local.

See you soon.

    brick2,
Thank you for taking the time to post.  You're saying that it sounds as if your hard drive is not detected.  You will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC to help with the possible hardware failure and to get copies of the system restore disk.  There is not a way to install windows without a CD or a recovery partition on your hard drive (which it appears right now that your laptop does not see). • How auto turn off the screen of the laptop when you use the external monitor?

I don't wan turn on laptop screen and my external monitor at the same time. So is it possible to do automatic screen of my laptop to turn off as soon as I plug my external monitor to my laptop vga cable (without pressing Fn + F2 keys)?

    Please help me.

    Thank you.

I don't know if it's possible, but you could try to go into display settings and set an external because it is main if possible display and then disable the laptop with Fn + F2 but idk if it will remain inactive if you portable computer power, then on again :/

Update: how to do this, right-click on the screen area and select the screen resolution while having the connected external display then of you will find a drop down a 3rd or a 4th do not remember but inside, you'll find stuff like show desktop on the screen 1 or 2 to find out what your external display screen number is and apply it to this form then computer laptop screen should turn black as it is turned off and you will see desktop area is on external display so I hope that this has resolved your request.

  • Spectrum x 360: how to stop the x 360 disable keyboard spectrum just because the laptop is turned on its side?

    Hello-

When my x 360 spectrum is turned on its side, (IE, use it while fixing my side) of the keyboard and trackpad turn off, as if I was with her in the form of tablets. (It is also used to change the rotation of the screen, but I fixed per rotation lock).  Windows 10 seems not really think of it in tablet mode based on the sidebar settings, the keyboard is still physically in the position of the ordinary laptop - it's all the computer itself, which is turned. Is there a way to disable this feature? What software is responsible for determining when the keyboard and the trackpad turn off based on the rotation of the computer?

    Thank you

    Merrick

Upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS has often attached to this issue. The keypad disables now rarely when turned on its side. (He does still sometimes, but it is very rare compared to before, and if move you it a bit is fixed).

  • Re: Satellite M30X - battery won't charge unless the laptop is turned off!

    Hello

I have a Satellite M30X who is about 4 years old and all of a sudden, she stopped electric network load when the laptop is turned on but strangely fees - although very slowly - when it is turned off.

    Any ideas please.

    Thanks for your help
    Amanda

    Hello

If you want and if you can, then you could try to replace the battery to check if this problem is related to a dysfunction of the accumulator.
I mean your battery is 4 years old and it wouldn't be nothing unusual if your battery does not work as it should.
My battery is about 6 years old and 3 years may not be loaded correctly.

But note that these are only suggestions and if you want to be 100% sure, you should ask a technician for a detailed notebook check.

It uses the battery until exhausted.

  • The screen of my laptop not turn on after being in mode 'sleep'

Let me start by saying that I am a novice in computer repair, so advice please put in laymon's terms! My problem started a few weeks ago, when my Dell inspiron 1526 would not resume when I opened the lid of the laptop.  (I rarely have to cut the power, just close the lid) When he started to arrive, I have to cut the power and turn off several times to get my computer to come back.  I did research on the internet for a solution (because I had resorted to all leaving the lid open).  I found one that worked for me... I did the following:

Click on the start menu, then right click on "computer" and click Properties.
Click the Manager option of devices on the left.
Under "System devices", one of the first should be the appliance close the lid.  Right click and click on "Update Driver Software".
Click "Browse my computer...". ", and then"Let Me pick from a list... ". »
    Uncheck it "Show compatible Hardware".
In the list on the right, scroll down, select Manager of Volume and click Next.

It was running great until the other day when I accidentally clicked on the Start button and then put the computer in mode 'sleep'.  Well now the computer screen lights up not at all.  All my family and I spent the weekend all put under tension of the laptop then turn it back, nothing will do.  I am now in panic mode since I use my computer to work from home as well as to take some college courses online! I found a lot of advice on this subject, but all of them are to be able to actually see what is on the screen! I need to know how to put the screen on the first!  I tried to take out the battery and unplug it but that no longer works. I know the computer becomes power b/c I can hear fans and restarting, but the screen does not light.  Help, please! From what I read it seems that it is a big problem with windows vista users!

    Hello

Since it is not initialize, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more help with this.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Bold only charges when turned off

    Hi all

I have a BB "BOLD" for a few weeks now.  When I plug it into the charger, it does not seem to load when the device is on.  The loading symbol appears in the upper left corner, but if I unplug the device after a period of time, the battery status symbol doesn't seem like the unit is charged.  In addition, the light yellow of load not flach when plugged in when turned on.

When I switch off the unit and plug it in, I get the charging flashing yellow light and accusations of pretty good device.

I also tried it with the device is plugged into the USB port on my laptop (I have DeskTop Manager 4.7), and it does not seem to load there either, although I have not tried to load from the PC the unit is turned off.

It is a real problem, as very often, I want to load the device then turned, while I do miss phone calls and emails.

    Thank you.

    Adam

The battery on the top icon left not enough resolution to be used for something other than a general indication of charge level.

Go to Options, State to see the level of charge of the battery percentage.

When I have my camera on during loading, I do not see the battery flashing yellow light. In fact, I didn't "BOLD" had one of these!

In any case, see if the percentage level changes during loading with the appliance on.
