No printer not connected message bypass

I have a hp deskjet 970cse - the Flash drive to the printer is broken so I got a cable that plugs into the printer cable from old school on USB in the computer - but I get a message "no printer connected" when the wizard recognizes the cable - how can I work around this to get my printer to work?

Hi Trudi Brown,

This error message occurs generally if the printer cable is not connected properly.

It is possible that the other cable printer cable that is old school is defective.

I suggest that you download and install the latest driver of printer from the HP Web site to eliminate any software problem.

If this does not help, then you will need to contact HP for replacement of the cable, or get help.

  • Computer says printer not connected

    Hi-

I use a HP Photosmart C4280 and run OSX 10.9.4.  My computer always tells me that the printer is not connected (I checked the power and the USB connection and both are good).  When I go to add the printer in system preferences no choices appear.  Can I/how can I reinstall the printer driver?

Hello amemoliand welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have connectivity problems.  I would like to help.

I suggest to remove the printer from your printing system, using this document: uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once you have deleted, I suggest to check and repair disk permissions: function to fix the permissions of all utility disk drive.

I also run your Apple updates: OS x: Mac App Store apps and OS X update

After the updates, I recommend you time the printer using this document on v10.9 OS X Mavericks: installing and using the printer on a Mac.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Install the device driver of printer not connected to the computer

My printer is too old to connect to my new computer.  I want to "print to a file" and move the file to another computer on which the printer connected (this second computer is not connected to the internet). How can I install device driver on the new computer with no attached printer?

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the printer?

If you want to move the file to another computer, you can copy the file to the flash drive and move to the other computer, so that you can print the file.

  • Photosmart more B210b: printer not connecting to wireless network

I try to install the printer, which has worked before with a different wireless router. I can't connect to the network, even if the print network configuration page says PASS and YES at all the right place with this new router (DB of Belkin Wireless Router N600DB).  When I connect to the router, the printer does not appear in the list of connected devices, but the printed page says it IS connected (has assigned IP address192.168.1.100 on the page). When I try to install the device and connect it to the laptop computer, the IP address is not recognized.

Both devices are in the same network (belkin.b2.c)

I've completely disabled the firewall, I install it, both in the protection antivirus software, windows AND router, have revived all 3 devices (printer, router and laptop), but still unable to connect.

I'll be very grateful for your help.

I have a problem with your suggestion and a question.

First problem: I can't change the SSID name or to change other settings of the printer because I can not connect at all.

The question is, I see my router dashboard that the Pool of IP address of departure is 192.168. 2.2 and the Pool of IP address is 192.168. 2.200 now, IP address, I can see the printer is 192.168. 1.100 as you can see, the range is different. This could be a problem?

    Comment

The printer is on a different subnet from the rest of your network.  Yes, it's a problem.

The printer and the router - and indeed, the rest of the network - these must all be on the same subnet.  Any network - but they are to be on the same.

    For example:

It is not important whether you choose 192.168.1.1 for your gateway router

    OR

whether you choose 192.168.2.1 for your gateway router

The rest of your computers, printers and devices must be on the same network of "sub" as the gateway router.

You can try changing the IP of the printer on the printer control panel if you can't connect with EWS (built-in web server).  Push the printer over subnet 2.

Maybe give printer IP address: 192.168.2.226

As far as I know that something like an update of Windows, change the IP address of the "network printer" at the same IP address as my printer 'Wireless '.  When I deleted and added the HP6300, he returned with the correct IP address.  If anyone has another explanation, I'd be interested to hear.  This problem has also affected two of my friends systems.

  • Deskjet3050A j611g: printer not connected (Yes it is)

My HP deskjet printer on our network (router Netgear N750) domestic and works fine wirelessly with my PC.  My MacPro Yosemite shows the printer on the network and when I bring the wireless in my browser settings, using the IP address of the printer, it shows the status of connected wireless and I can print the here Network Setup page, but cannot print from any application on my system.  ("The printer is not connected" - and "cannot find the printer")  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  It is the default printer.  I re-installed the printer and the router.  I have spent hours on it, I hope someone can help.

    Hey @YennaB,

Due to the age of your HP printer not publishes a software package and the downloadable full function driver. Therefore, according to step 5 in my previous post I'll have you manually, download and install the Apple update 3.0 HP driver which includes software and drivers for your HP Deskjet printer. These drivers should work in the same way as the full download of the driver package features of HP.

You are on the right track if your printer is now deleted through to reset the printing system. If no HP package doesn't show to uninstall, simply skip this step and go to 4-step by step 7.

Just keep following the steps I have provided and your printer should be in service again shortly.

Let me know how these steps go for you.

I install a HP Office Jet Pro 8600 on a wireless connection to my Mac (latest version of office).  I installed the printer and sometimes can't get the Mac to recognize the printer.  Intermittently, when the printer prints first it hangs on the first 1 percent of employment, then after a while, it prints the page.  The next few pages print ok, but when I go to print the printer is "not connected" again, the wireles light is blue fixed on the printer. If I disconnect the power to the wireless D-Link device, wait one minute then plug back power after a period of time that the printer could appear as connected again. My iPad works fine on the wireless network connection.  All Mac Book my wife does not recognize the printer on the wireless network.  I noticed that the ipv4 addresses are slightly different peripheral oneach, my Mac, thePrinter, my wife Mac Book.  The dfference is the last digit of the ipv4 address.  Previously, I bought a printer that has had the same problem with wireless unti l configuration took everything to the Mac for my 'One on One' store Lemark and a partner that does the job with a magic switch to apple.  The Lexmark printer is now in the Trash because he's stuck with paper so frequently that it opened, before ink cartridges (minimal) have even used, but it is another story.  On two printer, on the point of post appointment. Help, please.

IP addresses are supposed to be different, it's how the devices are identified by the router.

D-link routers can have trouble with HP printers.  Make sure that the firmware is updated on your router.

Finally, we will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.0.100 a.199.  We will use 192.168.0.220 for your printer.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

    Download and install this: support.apple.com/kb/DL907

We will restore the print system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

    Hey @lbriskin,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that your Macintosh OSX 10.11 computer detects a printer all-in-one Officejet 3830. I can help you with that.

First of all, let's see if the problem can be related network or Mac related. To do:

Turn the printer off for a minute.

While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.

When the lights came on your router on the printer.

Now, let's see what the printer think, that is the question. Click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower in the Middle at the bottom of the screen.

The next step depends on the IP address on the printer display.

    • If the IP address starts with 169.254, then the printer does not receive a valid IP address. Click the gear icon and select Wireless Setup Assistant to connect again. If the IP continues first 169.254 then the next step is to contact your internet provider because you have a device that will not receive a valid IP address of the router. If this is the case, then I would suggest calling a device and not a printer. If you say printer they say talk to HP and want to terminate the call.
    • If the IP address starts with 172 the printer is connected to a network of comments. Contact the company that you provided with the router for assistance with deactivation of the feedback network.
    • If the IP address begins with 192.168 or 10 then the printer IP address is fine. The next step would be to determine the issue on the Mac.
    • If the IP address begins with any other number then the network has somewhat changed. I would contact who is now the network for assistance.

Assuming that the IP starts with 192.168 or 10 the next step would be to reset your printing system. To do:

On the Mac, click the Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.

Hold down the command key and click the picture of the printer on the left side of the screen.

    Click on reset printing system.

Click on the button "+" in the lower left corner of the screen.

Select your printer from the list.

Click on the box to use and select your printer from the list.

    Click on Add.

If your printer was not in the previous window, it means that there is a setting on the network that prevents the Mac and a printer to communicate. I communicate with the one that is provided with the router and ask them to open all Ports, enable multicast, MAC disable the filtering/MAC cloning and make sure that the router broadcasts a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

At this point, you should be able to print. If you are not able to print then please let me know what happened by following these instructions.

Please let me know if this solves your problem or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great weekend!

If this solves your problem then please help others to find this post by clicking on accept as Solution on my post.

If you appreciate my help so please let others know by clicking on the icon below my post thumbs up.

  • ePrint - printer not connected?

I just plugged my new series of e-all-in-one HP ENVY 110 - D411. I signed up for an e-mail address for my printer. I sent an email to the address of the printer. It comes as pending on the list of the work on the ePrintCenter. I also went in the printer settings to check that ePrint was turned on. This is the case. EPrintCenter! said it is "not connected". Any idea where I should start troubleshooting?

    Hello

The first thing I would try is turning the printer off and on again.

The second thing I want to do is to follow step 6 in this document to set a static IP address: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02817031
When it askes for the DNS information, enter in Google DNS. Preferred DNS = DNS Alt = 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8

If it does not help if you could provide me the following information, it would help me to first, which is your ISP (Internet Service Provider, as Comcast, AT & T, Verizon, etc.)? Second, who is the manufacturer of your router? Finally, what is the version of the model number and the firmware on the router?

The wireless printer is set as the default printer?

The IP address of the wireless printer is correct for your wireless network IP address?

I tried to use the new lifecam HD on a new laptop of Dell Studio 1555 with 4 GB, 2.4 GHz dual core, a lot of disk space and last Vista 64-bit.

The software loaded and I connected the camera when told too, not before. Loads of software 3.0, but when it starts it says that there is no camera connected. Rebooted, tried different ports USB etc. No luck. I've never had a Logitech camera on the laptop.

I checked the drivers via the control panel and the hardware and the driver have load/activated and no material error.

I tried the camera on the desktop Vista 32-bit, 4 GB, 2.4 GHz (dual-core) with the same results, although once the recognized but camera performance was very poor in terms of speed in HD. After a reboot, I got the error of the device not connected.

I returned the camera to Frys and they managed to get the camera running with authoring software (I don't think it was the HD).

Anyone know what the issuance or the corrective action?

The problem is that you may have installed the wrong drivers and it was not to recognize the camera that he was trying to find the camera that was compatible with the driver you have installed.

  • Photosmart HP 5510: printer not connected to the network, although it

    Hi people,

I am at my wits end with this and you are my only hope (what Star Wars quote).

I have a HP Photosmart 5510, I've had around 2011.  I've always used it in the company of my iMac (OS X now on El Capitan). Over the last year or two, there was the strange number to which case when I open the HP utility on my iMac it says it is not able to connect to the printer and I should check that it is switched on (this is before you ask). This question seemed to resolve itself after a short while and there was no problem.

However, I came to analyze some elements of the other day, and this same old issue again raised his head. I put my paper on the scanner and press the option scan only for the printer to tell me that there is no connected computer. Weird, I thought I had printed only some points the day before. I went to my iMac and open the HP utility to see my former favorite message that the printer was not plugged in blah blah.

I went on HP website to see if there were new pilots required, which it was not (the last was for OSX Yosemitie!).

I decided to try and start fees and remove the printer and re - add new. I deleted the printer, downloaded the latest HP deriver (just in case) and that's where everything went wrong.

Software downloads, all right, it starts going through the installation process, end, then he gets to the selection of the device, issue. It evokes three devices that are my one and only printer (Strange I thought). Two with the "connection type" listed as Hello and the other with the connection type is listed as IP. I tried selecting each of these only for each of them to come back with the following error message:

"YEAR error occurred while the communications device." Please make sure that the device is ready and try again." Well, if they hear by loan, circuit implementation, its connected to my network then YES ITS BLOODY LOAN! So I get no more on the process by the printer and HP Utility installation is nothing else than a large black plastic paper weight. I tried to reconnect my printer to my network wifi several times and everything is fine, its connected and there is no problems according to the page of "wireless network test results" print.

What the hell is happening? Any ideas? Please save me before I throw this thing by the highest window that I can find.

I'm not a computer expert and I'm certainly not a network specialist. All the advice is appreciated greatly and fortunately.

    Hey @Mvdarbs,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. We're here for another help to get the most out of our products.

Thank you for your message. I see that you experience the Mac-to-printer communication problems when you use the HP Photosmart e-All-in-one 5510 printer. All this happens despite your apparent WiFi connection. While it is no doubt frustrating to live when all you want to do is print, there are solutions that you can try and I hope that they will restore the regular feature.

I recommend you try the following steps:

    (1) we will start over with the installation of your network printer. From the control panel press the wireless icon, and then select "Restore network Defaults."

    2) façade, run the "Wireless Setup Assistant." Reconnect to your home network and then make a note of the IP address.

    3) visit the printer embedded web server (EWS): this is done by entering the IP address of the printer in the address bar of the web browser and navigating to this address. If you have a security alert (as this page is not encrypted), click on to "Go forward anyway." If the page loads correctly, we can be certain that the network connection is real. While you're there, make a note of any error messages or status alerts (if you see it, it's all good) and don't forget to advise me on what you see.

    4) remove the printer from your Mac. If you are not sure how, refer to the

    guide for advice.

one) (optional)-set a static IP address for your printer. Refer to this thread of @PrintDoc here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/changing-IP-address-for-wireless-printer/td-p/445087 for instructions on how to do it.

    5) reinstall your printer: click here and install the driver that you are prompted.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. Don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

    See you soon,.
