    I accepted an update from Microsoft for Vista SP1 on my Acer 5920 laptop. After re-boot to complete the update, the Acer is no longer wakes up. What happened and how I can fix itplease?

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    It would be possible that the reason that your registry database seems to zero after the reboot is your antiviral is preventing to be changed when you update your drivers.  but this is only an idea unproven, but a possibility.
    in all cases, try to do a restore point for today / now.  This will take a snapshot of the current state of the system.
    Then, see if you can restore your computer state before the update that would have saved the drivers work and functional setup for your speaker system.
    my suggestion is to run a system via safe mode restore it if the anti viral theory is true, that it will not impede the process of restoring system in safe mode.
  • No sound after installing Windows Update KB2962407 on Windows 8
    After installing Windows Update KB2962407 (RT of Windows, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 cumulative hotfix: June 2014), the PC loses all the sounds.  Its returns if I uninstall this update.
    Hello
    Microsoft has confirmed that this problem occurs on some Windows 8 PC.  You can solve this problem by opting for Windows 8.1.
    Microsoft made in Windows Update KB2962407 to fix this problem.  While installing Windows 8.1 is the preferred method, you can also resolve this problem in Windows 8 by checking the updates of Windows and reinstall Windows Update KB2962407 .
    2 our group Mac users comments 'invisible' since the upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat Pro DC (2015.016.20039). and Adobe Reader. You can see the comments in the comments bar, but you don't see them anywhere on the page. It will move to the point where the comment should be, but it will not show the inscriptions on the PDF file. Here is an example:
    The same problem occurs even after removing all preferences:
  • Satellite P100-442 - sound after Vista update problem
    Vista Home Premium operating system.
    Since "Vista Update" installed a pilot of its new "Conexant high definition SmartAudio HD2", the sound does not work.
    It does that after I do a "ch for devices modified" via "Device Manager".
    But I do whenever I have start the laptop.
    Should I first remove this driver (and how?) and to install the driver on the Toshiba site?
    Try to restore to an earlier time using System Restore option.
    If everything works again DO NOT install updates for ALL pilot rating. Just install update marked as important. All others (optional) update SHOULD NOT be installed at all.
  • No sound after vista updated itself
    I have two computers acer laptops that connect to the internet by dial-up, everything works very well until last month, and now they both can not get a dial tone.  Modems are software based and the company that provided the driver (Agere) no longer exists.  Any suggestions besides becoming an external modem?
    Hi modemproblems,.
    Thank you for using answers Forum.
    There are a few things you can try.
    I suggest you roll back the device to the modem driver through the Device Manager.
    You can reach the Device Manager by clicking on 'Hardware and Sound' from the Control Panel, then click on 'Device Manager '.
    Alternatively, you can try System Restore to restore your computer to a time when modems worked.
  • Sounds dead on my Imac 21.5 "Office 2012 after Adobe flash update: HELP!
    Thanks in advance for your help. I am running the operating system OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 and safari 8.0.1
    How can I solve this problem?
    I'm not aware of a widespread problem as you describe.
    I would try the following, if you did not already:
    1.) reboot of the machine.  See if the problem persists.
    (2.) do a clean install of the Flash Player:
    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Mac-OS.html
    http://fpdownload.Macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
    (3.) if it does not, the sound works in other applications?  What about different video sites?  If it's just a few sites, a link to a video showing the problem would be helpful.
  • Satellite x 200 SLi: I lost sound after Vista SP1 installation
    Hello
    I have a Toshiba Satellite x 200 SLi
    After I installed the SP1 of Vista, I just lost sound and even update the audio drivers... I still have several problems such as: sometimes the sound stops, errors, try to display movies... etc...
    Vista tells me that I have Norman for update my drivers but I already have the last avaiable driver on TOSHIBA page.
    Anyone with the same problem?
    No idea how to solve this problem?
    Thank you
    The problem is that Microsoft's Vista SP1 makes trouble. The problem is that not all drivers are compatible and fully supported by SP1.
    I think you have a Realtek audio chip. Perhaps have you check the site Web of Realtek s the latest HD audio driver
    If this doesn't help, then you will have to wait until the new update is available (or you will remove him SP1)
  • No sound after audio driver update
    sounds on my pc
    Hello, after installing a driver realtek hd audio (new)
    I couldn't hear anything on my pc, I used wht I have seen that a windows audio driver need help thank you
    Try to roll back the driver to the one who used to work as follows: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/roll-back-troublesome-device-drivers-in-windows-vista/.
    Then go to the manufactuerer of computer or the manufacturer of your audio device (if it came with the computer) ane search for updated drivers and be ABSOLUTELY sure that they are those of your audio device, AND they are compatible with your verision of Vista.  Then you can try to install these updates to see if they work.  If the same problem occur, then for some reason, these drivers do not work with your system and rollback again the one who worked and that you shouldn't use them.
    I hope this helps.
  • No sound after Service pack 3 on my Windows Xp
    After that I installed Service pack 3 and rebooted my computer widows, I lost my audio. I can not get to play any audio at all through my speakers or headphones. It was working fine before the update, can anyone help me fix?
    How do I know if the computer is fully corrected: Open Internet Explorer (only) tohttp://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all security critical updates available (e.g., KB2416400;) KB2419632; KB981852).  If an update of root certificates is listed (possibly in the category of the optional software updates on the left side of the scan results window), install it to enjoy enhanced Internet Explorer security.
  • No sound after installing critical updates - Windows 7
    Just bought a Toshiba P505D running Windows 7 on Sunday.  I then installed the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite.  Windows auto-intalled a lot of updates, Monday night and then after updates the sound has stopped working.  Toshiba has helped me solve the problem and it is not a hardware problem.  They had me then restore the system settings before updates of Windows and the sound is working again.  Now I'm nervous about the installation of the updates.  Anyone aware of this problem and how do I install the updates and keep functioning?  Thank you!
    Hi BoonieBoy,
    This could be a problem if one of the update is causing the problem. I suggest that you install update one by one to see which update is the culprit that is causing the problem.
    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programsand then click Windows Update.
    2. click on the option to change the settings in the left navigation bar. You will now be on a screen where you will be able to set up how to download and install the updates on your Windows 7 computer
    3. Select the updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. When you have finished setting options that you want, press the OK button to save these settings. You will now be at the main screen of Windows Update.
    4. in the left pane, click check for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.
    5. you can then download the updates one or both.
    6. now install a patch at a time and restart the computer after the installation of each update.
    7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you get all the updates you want on your PC.
    It is about what update is causing the problem. Provide the number of the update.
    Thank you, and in what concerns:
