OfficeJet 6500 Wireless: Win 10 - Solution Center - scan not performed as another program using the imaging device
I upgraded to 10 Windows on a laptop ASUS, then updated the software for a HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series printer HP solutions Center.
I can print successfully to the printer but when I open the solution Center and then try to scan an image or a Document, I get the following error "Scan cannot be performed because another program or computer using the networked imaging device.
Extended error information is 8, [(0.18,-2147467259)]
When I look in device under imaging devices Manager, two devices are displayed ASUS USB2.0 WebCam (1) and (2) Officejet 6500 E709n.
It would be much appreciated if someone could help me solve this problem.
Hi midnight-anwrs,.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I looked into your link "Printer problems after upgrade to Windows 10" and 6 "Scan with a scanning application" stage, I found the solution.
I downloaded the "HP Scan and capture App" and can now easily scan photos and documents.
Thanks for your help.
Much appreciated,

Officejet 5610 all-in-one: Solution Center says not connected printer
I can not info ink level when looking for the ink level using Toolbox printer in the solution Center. It says 5610 printer not connected... but the functions of printer normally.
Perfect!
Thank you at this point, you can continue to check levels of ink on the test page, or you can remove the software and driver from your computer and try to reinstall to see the Toolbox will work again.
If you want to go ahead with uninstall and reinstall, uninstall the printer software from the Control Panel on your PC, restart your PC then to complete uninstallation and download and run the installation from here: HP Deskjet and Officejet full feature software and drivers
Once installation is complete, open the Solution Center on your desktop and try to check the levels of ink again.
Good luck

HP OfficeJet Pro L7590 all-in: Solution Center does not
We have three computers running Windows 10. On two of them, the Solution Center will not load. Click on the desktop icon and the image of the Cluster Solution flashes briefly and disappeared. We use Windows 10 for several months now and have used the solution Center on all three computers (with Windows 10) up to two days when I tried to use it and it would not load. I buy best Geek Squad support and yesterday an agent has spent more than 4 hours trying to solve the problem and could not managed to open. The final suggestion is to take it to the Geek squad in store for "an update of the operating system and reinstalling the HP drivers on a fresh operating system." I really don't want to do that.
The print function works very much like the copy feature. Do not use the fax machine.
Any ideas anyone?
I have the same problem. It just started a couple of days.
If anyone has a resolution please write me.

Since windows 10 my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909 will not scan unless I run through the diagnostic tool and then do a test of loading scan. I used to do that through the HP Solution Center, but this doesn't seem to work. His charges and must charge bar but just Flash when you click it. I ran all online and diagnostics Windows, uninstalled and reinstalled on HP website and downloaded new drivers. It still does not work. Windows tells me that all drivers are up-to-date. I downloaded and tried to install HP Photosmart C309a all-in-One Driver Software 14.0 Rel.5 in a new installation of Windows 7 Professional (not an upgrade). Installation works very well until the moment of the connection to the printer.
I tried the wired and wireless network connections. The screen "Found network printers" lists the printer with the correct IP address and MAC address. Network Diagnostics screen shows any errors. The screen "Installation of your printer" poster "Detected printer", then says "printer setup has failed to complete." Retry does not help. Removing and reinstalling the software do not help.
The Windows devices and printers control panel shows the printer as "Series of HP Photosmart C309a (redirect 2)". I am able to print a Test Page from Windows printer without error. The 'print options' are also available.
The printer works fine with other computers on my home network, one running XP and a Vista running.
How can I get the software installation to complete successfully and provide the printer the HP Solutions Center?
Thanks for your help.
Well, I have solved my problem. I'm not sure that these steps are necessary, but here's what I did.
1 follow the instructions in "Completely uninstall and reinstall the HP software" HP. In particular, 'clear the temporary files and folders' and 'Disable Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs and any other lighting programs' before reinstall you, then "Reactivate startup programs", after the reinstallation.
2. install base drivers, and NOT the complete software package with applications.
3. If the basic install works, then install ALL the applications (eg Solution Center). Do not try to install some applications but not others.
4 remove the applications that you do not (e.g., Online Shop).
Maybe the steps 2-4 are not mandatory, but they worked for me.

OfficeJet 6500 Wireless: Win 7 driver for wireless available?
Running Windows 7... followed the instructions to install the drivers by swabbing with USB printer. Is a wireless driver available? If this isn't the case, when it will be available for download?
There are 2 ways you can configure the wireless printer without the software. You must run the printer Wireless Setup Wizard by pressing Setup > network settings > Wireless Setup Wizard. Another way is to temporarily connect the printer with an ethernet cable. Then print the Network Configuration Page to get the IP address. Browse Printers ' then incorporated web page by typing the IP address in a web browser. Once you're on this page, you can run the Wireless Setup Wizard in the network menu, or specify the wireless settings manually. Once that is done, go to printers and devices > add a printer > add a network printer or wireless, and it should find the printer on the network and allow you to print automatically.

Can't scan on my HP officejet 6500 Wireless after upgrading to Windows 7
After the upgrade to Windows 7, I can't scan on my HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer. I can print from my pc using the wireless feature, but I can't access the solutions Center where to access the scan function.
Since you say that you upgraded to Windows 7, you need to download and install the following hotfix that corrects some problems with the HP AIO devices during the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. You can also check this thread, "HP Multifunction printers do not work after upgrading Vista to Windows 7"

OfficeJet 6500 Solution center will not install/help files missing
Hey community:
Have tried several times to install Officejet 6500 with the solutioncenter does not. When I click on the icon to get an error message that the solution center was not installing correctly. I saw a flash quick a message about the flash player, but on uninstall / installs later may not get the same message.
All proposals/solutions. Am disappointed right now with the Hp Printer. Online tech solution was to place shortcuts to scan ap and says the printer works perfectly like her without the Center as well as the fax, but cannot fax from word doc.
In addition, I don't have the help files to set up the printer. Any help on that would be great.
There could be two questions
1. your computer does not have a more recent version. Please download and install. Now reinstall the hp software
2. if above does not work. disable the firewall (including the windows firewall) and check the solution Center.

Hello
As OEM HP is responsible for the good operation of the printer and their
drivers provided. Check with HP support, their documentation online and
drivers and ask in their forums.Good luck, you need to update or reinstall the latest driver.

Why my HP Officejet 6500 Wireless scan documents on my computer?
I have a printer HP Officejet 6500 Wireless. I can print wireless from my PC to the printer, but when I try to scan it says "no option to Scan." Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. Press OK. »
I tried troubleshooting but nothing seems to work. It doesn't make sense to me that the printer works but the scanner does not work. The printer and the PC are certainly talk to each other, I can't just scan.

HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless - bug Scanner driver - only on Windows 7 platform!
Date:
October 29, 2010, Roende, Denmark.TO:
Hewlett-Packard
Support / Department printer driver.From:
Jesper Simonsen
Denmark.Hello Hewlett-Packard
I have an error message you bringing on the
HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless
Driver for Windows 7 printer platform. This bug only exists on the Windows 7 platform
and not on Windows XP.I was hired to install the
HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless yesterday.
I have installation, installed, set up the printer.
I configured the printer to run
Wireless network with gateway router
SSID and WPA key and it went smoothly.
I installed the printer for
address fixed LAN IP 192.168.1.197
and I configured the gateway routers
DHCP pool to go until 192.168.1.195
for not to disclose the IP address of the printer. On a new laptop Lenovo running Windows XP
running on the same wireless network that I installed
software of the printer from Windows XP/Vista driver disk provided.
It worked fine with functions of printer and scanner.
I could also press the Scan button the
the printer front panel and choose the laptop
and then the printer starts and automatically starts the scanner
software upward on the laptop. Thus, it works beautifully. So I should install the printer on your desktop.
A new Lenovo desktop computer running Windows 7 32 bit.
This desktop computer also works on the same wireless network.
I installed the driver from the disk Windows 7driver to the address provided.
Installation may well see the printer on the wireless network.
I might send a print job to the printer.
But it does not scan.I have tried both:
-To start a computer scan job.
The scanner respond briefly to run the scanner carriage
down on where it should begin to start to
to scan, then it stopped all communication.
He sits for a while and then finally there will be an error message
No communication to the scanner, which had the error code:4, [(2,7,80040007), (3,7,0)]
-J' also tried to press the "Scan" button
on the front panel on the printer and then go through
options that are displayed on the screen on the front printers. It said on the screen before she had no scan options.
On the computer, it showed a message
We should update the list of LCD on the screen of the printer.I did it with the help of the HP solution center text.
I found where I could update the scan job type options.
I could add/remove them. Then, I sent to the printer.
Analytical work was then on the display of fine printers.
The same error: Scanner carriage moves down to the other end
the scanner then stops all communications from there.I tried to google the number of problem and error.
I found several other users with the same problem we had.
I could see a webpage that people could download
the latest printer driver, then it should resolve itself. The provided disks were
-Disk with drivers for Windows XP and Vista
-Disk with drivers for Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)The drive for Windows 7 has been driver version 13.0.0
and I could download the driver 140.0 version (English)
(I guess that's v.14.0)So I downloaded this driver package.
(I downloaded it 28 October 2010)First of all, I uninstalled all THE HP drivers and software on Windows 7
and then did a reboot of Windows 7.Then I started to install the new version 14 of the pilot.
The installation went without problems.
But this driver has the same BUG than the previous driver.I went to the new driver HP Web site
and downloaded all the updates that were available and
installed to them all and still no luck with the problem of scanning.I had Windows Firewall turned off completely all the time.
It is therefore not the firewall blocking anything.
The connection to the printer is good because print jobs worked well all the time. Then I would try to connect the printer with USB cable
the computer fixed Lenovo, to see if there was a difference.
I have re-set up the printer so that I got the printer available
by USB connection.
It prints very well and can scan fine if
I put the computer starting a scan job.But if I pressed the "Scan" button on the front panel
then came the SAME error as before.
When in the list of type of scan on the front panel of the printer
has been chosen and then began the cariage scanners
towards the other end of the scanner.
Then he started by the scanner to the computer software
Then, when we pressed either the scanning/Scan now on the front panel
on the printer OR we pressed the scan button to start the scanner software
on the computer. Then the scanner stopped after awhile and communication
then the error message appears again. The wireless network is running a
D - Link router with wireless access point.
SSID: alsikkevej10 (not hidden, no special characters)
Encryption: WPA - PSK (WPA1-PSK/TKIP)
Shared key: xxxxxxxx (with no special characters)CONCLUSION:
This means that the error (bug) persists in HP
Driver software the feature scanner for Windows 7 platform. When I tested it, I had the Windows Firewall turns off completely.
It's had that nothing blocked in this way.
Wireless worked well because we could always print. The Lenovo laptop could always
printing AND scanning over the wireless connectionBoth analyze the types of employment has worked on the laptop:
-A started from the "Scan" button on the front panel of the printer.
-Started from the scanner on laptop computer software. So scan works fine on Windows XP but NOT on Windows 7 platform.
I would like to hear from you when you have solved the problem,
so that we can it works as it should do.HP, please respond to an e-mail.
Sincerely,
Graphics & new media designerJesper Simonsen

I talked to technical support. I mentioned a level 2 technician. He told me that most of these problems is caused by a bad operating system and reinstalling it would do. I got back up, restore the operating system, restore the data and reinstall all my programs, but he was right about the problem to solve. Seems a lot of work to get the scanner to work, but my computer is slow and refreshing it anyway. Moreover, the level 2 technician also said that they would recommend to reinstall the OS every 6 months. Not so sure I want to spend hours 4 or more on this process, but my computer works certainly better!
