OfficeJet 6830: Ticking sound officejet 6830

My printer is 3 months old. Printing and scanning right. But after scanning the last page, I hear a ticking sound when the page feeds to the status bar. I don't know if the sound was there when it was new.

Welcome to the HP Forums @Iceman_66!

I understand that you hear a ticking sound that you aren't sure was there before. From your description, I think that the sound is perfectly normal. When using the document feeder and the last pages feeds through, the printer looking for another page and try to continue to feed until he realizes, he has no other pages to follow. It's probably you hear the rattling noise.

Thanks in advance for your answer

I have a Satellite M40 and the HARD drive makes similar noises.

But the HDD and the laptop works without a problem and I didn't notice any issues.

I guess that it s not a severe case and if the HARD drive is new you should t be worried.

    Hello world

I have a MacBook, which worked perfectly well until now. When I plug my adapter into my MacBook, it makes a ticking sound and won't turn on. When I unplug it the ticking noise stops. I tried resetting the PRAM and the SMS, I also tried move points of sale, using a different power adapter, none of them seem to work. It's a MacBook Pro with a non-removable battery.

    Thank you in advance,

If it has a HD installed, it looks like an accident of the HD. Run only on apple Hardware Test mode extended 2 or 3 times, if errors appear then you know for sure.

  • Retro-lighting/tick problem

    8 gb Fuze, firmware V01.01.15a.

When the backlight turns off, the audio picks up a fast tick-tick-tick sound.

I tested it on all the different backlight settings of the timer up to an hour, and when the backlight turns off, the tick returns. If I press a button to pull the rear backlight, the tick goes. I can work around keep it with the parameter 60 min backlight - the light on all the time - but it's playing table with my battery life.

    Firmware fix?

    Thank you.

    Dang!

I thought it was the failure to upgrade, but it seems to be the (firmware 01.01.15a).

I did go back to 01.01.11a and which seems to clear up the tick-tick-tick problem... the backlight is turned off now and I'm listening to crystal clear sound at the moment.

  • Sound weird coming from the hard drive, every Min or 2-Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520

Not really sure if this is still a bad question. This player has not yet failed. It's just making a weird noise, I have no idea what could be the cause.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=XwYSdD4fyRU

The ticking, in this video, is exactly the same. The only difference. Undermines the fact every 1 min, sometimes every 2 minutes... and sometimes all 3 or 4 minutes. And he just does the ticking sound once. not again and again.

If a tick from time to time. You can hear only - when everything is guiet? Just a tick and it disappears for a while?

Does that mean that my drive has failed? Reason why I'm asking. After a year of use, the hard drive has failed-It just died. Dell has replaced the disc/Msata too. It was near another year, with replacement. Is this a sign that I should back up and save all my info. Contact dell.

IF kills laptop another disk hard-is there a chance of the motherboard is defective?

Things that I've tried - defragment the disk, I even check and repair sectors... found nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated...

thought about upgrading to an ssd, but I really want to do, if the motherboard is to kill hard drives?

    Thanks for reading

Here I am again, a bit frustrated... Has achieved a good response when I posted... but nothing else after that... Different response of old Story/Issue...same... (((I thought of it out on mine)))

Don't know if that's the right answer, but I thought that if there was someone out there with the same problem, it might give you some answers.

After reading and Goggling... I found a few different answers... "My favorite, but NOT CORRECT"... Your drive is dying, you must back up all the files and save them to an external disk, before it fails... where there is a click or a bad sector... it will multiply and more.

Of course, there is a simple answer from someone who knows nothing about the hard drive. But incorrect. Especially if you do not experience problems or blue screens.

A hard click or clunk, may be two different things. Non of them pointing to a player out. Depending on the player, it could be a bad sector. It could be one of 2 things, "THERMAL CALIBRATION ROUTINES", or it could be "ADVANCE DRIVE PROTECTION".

I don't understand how an any of them work, but a quick Google search should provide you with answers.

On my drive a simple defrag helped. Now I hear the noise, every once and awhile. Sometimes I don't hear it at all in a session. You are not sure if it was a coincidence? But I feel much better knowing what to do.

Thanks for reading my question and post

    Hello @Cwalts,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I am familiar with the chime you are referring in your HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.

You can set the right of the front panel of the printer settings:

    • Contact preference
    • Select the Volume of the sound effects
    • Mute button

Let me know if this helps you to silence the chime. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

  • HARD drive is not detected in BIOS - need to recover data.

What happened is that my laptolaptop takes a long time to start, so I slapped him. After that I kept getting the error message "no boot device, please restart". So whenever I restarted I kept getting this message. I also sometimes had "Media Fail" message. I pressed F2 at startup to get into the Bios. Settings so check I saw that hard disk still showed it's a Hitachi one.

My hard drive was clicking to it so I searched online advice on what to do and I saw on the opening of the hard drive in a clean environment, ensuring that no dust went on the drive. I expect the head being stuck on disc, but it was not stuck. So basically, I put the lid on. Since then, the hard drive was not detected.

Not in the Bios (he said no). I bought a CD to restart which can temporarily become Windows to the screen under Xp, so I can go to the computer to retrieve data from the hard drive. It shows nothing. There is always a clicking hard drive, more a ticking sound. It is always possible that an expert could remove the hard drive and recover my data that are valuable photos and videos.

    Thank you

What model of laptop do you have?
Try to set the BIOS to default settings and check if the HARD drive is recognized correctly.

  • Satellite Pro A30 - broken circuit internal

    Hello

I this A30 here and was sold as a resource of spare parts for my other laptop. It seems that the only problem with it is the power supply. The cold state (between 5 and 10 ° C), it works long enough for a few seconds or a few minutes at the start, then, from one second to another, he died. If the battery is installed or not doesn't matter much.
Now, it does not start even when connected with the tapping, but keeps flashing briefly its rhythmic LEDs and is a slight TICKING sound as well.

Any suggestions really what part of the internal power supply may be damaged? Of course, I could order a technician to find the problem. But after hours of work, with this Bill that he would introduce me I could buy a Satellite Pro work as well...

    Thanks in advance,

Check first for the dust in the heat sink. Maybe her turn off when its hot?

If you wiggle the plug of the AC adapter / CC (where it plugs into the laptop), only the power light flickr?

Hi all I am new here just subscribed, because you guys seem to know your stuf!

I am rather im pc literate, a music video producer and use TWO Ext HD to save most of my work.

Ive had this Toshiba 320 GB for about a year now, without any problems, never been damaged. But recently in the last week has started to struggle shooting up Makin a "ticking" sound of the HD itself. I've tried it on other computers, I have tried with different power supplies, and now I've left on for two days, and its still not started upward.

It's really urgent that I'm working for several labels and need my work as soon as POSSIBLE.
Other than sendin it to a data recovery Center is there anything I could do?
Or why would it past that I used to breed?

I recently buy two Seagate 500 GB these are well-known for bein strong one never fail.

Please, please, please if anyone can help I'd be grateful massivly.

Soon, I'll check here every day for any comment.

    Hello

    This doesn't look good...

If you're lucky, you can read data from the HARD drive with a recovery of data such as OnTrack Easy Recovery software.

If you can't get your data back with this software, the only way to retrieve the data is to send your HARD drive to a data recovery company, but it is very expensive.

I had the same problem with an external HARD drive and I was able to save my data with OnTrack software.

I wish you good luck, because I produce, too... ;)
