Offline on Officejet J6480

I have dignost but it still says "offline".

Please help me

It's a really hard job for me... For two days, I am struggling with this...

OK, let's start over.  Remove the USB cable between the printer and the PC!

1. on your PC, go to control panel > printers.  Click on the printer and press Delete on your keyboard. If there are other instances of the printer in the printer list, delete those, too.

2. on the printer: configuration > network > reset network by default.

3. on the printer: Setup > network > Wireless Setup Wizard.

4. return to the PC, go to start > all programs > Hewlett-Packard > [model number] > add a device.

The program asks you which type of installation you want.  Select network or wireless (not USB).  It will search your printer already on the network and install it.

I would like to know how it works.

  • OfficeJet J6480: Installed drivers, printer offline

I had this problem for ages with my OfficeJet J6480 since the last update of Solution Center 13.0, who since then has caused a lot of grief for printing and network scanning to questions about my mother Aspire 6530 which has Vista 32 bit on it. My machine which is a custom built Asus P5N - D with Windows XP 32 Bit on it works perfectly with the wireless printer and has no problem with scanning for features.

I reinstalled and rubbed the drivers many times, more a reformat. When the installation takes place the printer works perfectly, then later the printer is unable to come online with my mother Vista machine wireless.

The only question I can find is that, in the control panel under printers Vista is that the J6480 is considered as offline, and to get the printer online, I have to right-click on the printer and select "use printer online". This resolves the issue until the computer gets shutdown. I don't know what to do and it's really disturb my mother.

    I have some general recommendations:

    (1) of the D - Link DIR-655 WIRELESS SETTINGS-> configuration of wireless network at hand:

    (a) set the Mode 802.11 Mixed 802.11n, 802.11 g and 802. 11B for optimum compatibility.  If you are positive that there is no 802. 11b devices in the area, you can use mixed 802.11n and 802.11 g.

    (b) disable Auto Channel Scan and select channel 1, 6 or 11.  To find the best channel, download our Network Diagnostic Utility (located here) on a laptop connected to your DIR-655 wirelessrun and select Show advanced tools, and then select Show networks wireless detected.  Try to choose a channel which is at least 5 channels away from your more powerful neighbour.

c fix the width of the channel at 20 MHz and the visibility of Visible State.  This gives you better compatibility.  While 20 MHz setting to slow down your network a bit, unless you do not have nearby wireless networks, these networks interference prevents the use of two bonded channels (for 40 MHz) in the band of 2.4 GHz Wi - Fi.

    (2) on the computer, uninstall the HP Customer Participation Program (if it has been installed).

  • All-in-one HP Officejet J6480: google cloud print

I wonder how (or if) I can save my all-in-one HP Officejet J6480 printer use Googe Cloud Print?

I had advanced under Chromebook settings then Google Cloud Print and when I click on manage printers he says there is no devices available and I want to register the device.

Thanks for any help with this!

    Hello @CookinCo22 ,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand you're wondering if you can set your J4680 until chromebook.

For a printer can be configured on Google Cloud Print, it must have the functionality of the web services.

Unfortunately the J4680 doesn't have this feature.

If you have a PC or a Mac, you can set up a conventional printer.

The downside is that you should have the PC or Mac turned on to be able to print from the Chromebook.

The positive side is that you can print your chromebook.

    I hope this helps you.

  • I have a HP officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. The screen is white and yellow light flashing

I have a HP officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. The screen is blank and there is this little yellow light flashes on the Cancel button.  I can not print or fax anything because the screen is empty. Since the light started to Flash the entire printer has not worked. Can someone please HELP! : womansad:

Well, if you haven't tried this and then create a coercive power reset:

Do not activate the wide (although you can), remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn on the printer. If that clears up the flashing light/white screen, then try printing etc...

If this is not the case, see if something visible is originally the error state such as paper jam, odd items in the printer, nothing fancy. Also try to plug the printer directly into the wall outlet as opposed to a look/power surge Strip, or even try a Jack in another room if it is not successful.

  • HP Solution Center no longer works after update of HP Officejet J6480

HP will provide an update to fix this problem?  If anyone has had the same problem (if so, how fixed?)?

HP has pushed down the updates on a week earlier for my HP Pavilion Elite e9270f running Windows 7 64 bit home and domestic all-in-one Officejet J6480 which are connected wirelessly via my network.  HP Solution Center had worked for several years until then, but now can no longer connect to the J6480 with all the features.  Devices and printers in Control Panel displays the connection.  HP HPHNDU.exe utility displays the connection.  Print from works of MS Office products as ok HP Solution Center no longer works.  I can't scan documents to the PC (that it is pulled by the PC or pushed by the J6480).  I used http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02266743 instructions and the software of HP Officejet and Driver Removal Utility OJJ6400_Scrubber_13.exe to remove all aspects of the printer and the software.  Then reinstall them using (with HP printer install wizard HPPIW.exe), but the new installation also fails linking the center of solutions HP (printing still MS Office programs).  According to me, it is a plague of HP inflicted that should have a solution from HP.  FG 120201

  • Quality color, printing photos on OfficeJet J6480

The color quality seems very poor, with a bluish tint. When printing photos on my OfficeJet J6480. Cartridges show plenty of ink. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    RV

    Hello!

With this printer, I found this tree of the article:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=7423&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&DLC=en&lang=en&LC=en&product=3635378

Here I'd say work items on the colors bleeding into one another and any material to help get this resolved related.

Typically, this can be solved by cleaning the print heads and contacts within the printer. Be careful when you perform these steps well and I would say following the guide carefully.

    I hope this helps!

  • HP Office Jet J6480: high load or work around the Board in an HP Officejet J6480

My HP Officejet j6480 isn't all recognize the high bypass tray of the page. I would like to know how to do so that he can feed on this top. So are there specific instructions to put a sheet of labels badge or business card labels in this sandbox?

I tried to load sheets of labels into the tray of ordinary inside and crunched printer just to the top of the label.

    Hello @klsurmi,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are having problems loading labels in HP Officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. I would like to help you today with this problem to feed paper. On this particular model of printer paper for printing a single sandbox there. It is the main tray at the bottom of the printer. The 'top' I believe you are talking is only used for faxing, copying or scanning automatic document feeder. Below, I will give instructions for properly loading paper in the tray of your product. Once you have confirmed that your labels are properly loaded we will test print in order to confirm if the problem is resolved.

    Step 1: Load the paper:

    1. lift the output tray.

    2. Insert the paper with the side to be printed down along the right side of the status bar. Make sure the stack of paper is aligned with the right and rear of the tray edges, and the height does not exceed the line marking in the status bar.

    3. slide the paper in the tray to fit the paper size you have loaded.

    4. lower the output tray and pull out the tray extension.

    -Source

    • For the labels, you can load up to 100 sheets of labels in the paper tray at the same time.

Once the labels have been loaded properly, please print a test to confirm if the paper feed problem has been resolved. If the problem persists please let me know that the size and weight of the paper label is that you use.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

    Hi @jcoronat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you get an error when you try to scan. I would like to help.

I took most of these steps from a post of Sunshyn2005. To be honest, all I did is to change the links to software, but the post is enough onsite for troubleshooting of Mac software.

    Scrub / uninstall

    • Open the Applications folder > folder HP or Hewlett Packard > Uninstall HP
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    • Click Uninstall.

Manually uninstall the remaining files potentially - I apologize in advance is not a fun task! I'll try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps can be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, do not be alarmed.

Move the files or folders to the Recycle Bin, drag and drop

    • Macintosh HD/Applications / /Hewlett-Packard folder
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support /- delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Caches - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Documentation/Help /- delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • MacintoshHD/Library/Frameworks/HPServicesInterface.framework
    • MacintoshHD/Library/Frameworks/HPSmartX.framework
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Image Capture / TWAIN Data Sources /HP Scan Pro
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/Scripts - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard

Move the Macintoshloginwindow.plist on the desktop. NOTE: Does not delete the loginwindow.plist file during the manual uninstallation may cause uninstall be retained.

    • In Macintosh HD/library/printers/hp - delete the folder
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems, drag the following files in the trash, IO HP and HP trap monitor
    • In Macintosh HD/users/username (this should have a symbol of a house next to him) / Library/Preferences, drag the following files to the Trash: * all files starting with com.apple.print, * all files starting with com.hp, * all files beginning with Hewlett-Packard, * files starting with HP or hp
    • In MacintoshHD/users/USERNAME/Library/printers, drag all all-in-one printers listed here in the trash.
    • Drag the icons of HP from the dock and drop it onto a blank space on the desktop. The icon will disappear.

    Close all open windows.
    Turn it back on.
    Empty the trash.

    Reset the printing system

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.
  • Black screen when scanning with Officejet J6480

    Printer HP Officejet J6480 all-in-one, Windows 7 64-bit,

When I scan everything I get is a black screen. I ran the scan doctor and the report said everthing works properly. I don't get anything no matter how I run the scan. Can anyone help?

Nope.  This isn't a party that has been designed to be replaced.  I'm sorry.  You may be able to run again to do a reset full semi.  For your printer, make sure that the machine is under voltage and unplug the printer.  Keep it # and 6 keys on the keypad of the printer.  With the # and 6 key held down, plug the printer back in.  Once the lights come on, release the # and 6 key.  Be aware that to do a complete reset semi resets everything on the printer.  If this does not work, the only other option is to get a new one.  The last model that would be similar to what you would be the OfficeJet 6600 or 6700 OfficeJet.  Technical support may have another choice for printers reconditioned if you give them a call.

    Hey @extremelyP,

The 'Send Fax' screen was to appear, it doesn't appear that you have added the driver for Deskjet replacing portion of your printer Fax. Normally, under devices and printers, you will have two copies of your printer. The first example would be the real printer driver. The second copy would be the Fax from your computer's fax driver part. In saying this, I will just cancel you it that we just finished and test print. If the printing problem persists, we will add the driver replacing again and things must be a lot smoother.

    Step 1: Remove the driver:

    1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
    2. On the start screen, type programs and features
    3. Click on programs and features to launch the tool.
    4. Under programs and features scroll to the bottom of the list and are looking for your HP Officejet. If you see your printer click on it and choose Uninstall.
    5. Please follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete please close programs and features
    6. Then, please reopen the Start screen. This time type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start
    7. In the file devices and printers, if you see your HP Officejet still listed, please, right click top and select "remove device' or 'Remove'.
    8. Once the device HP Officejet was deleted please click left once on any device used to indicate the heading Printers and fax machines . You just want to highlight the device
    9. Then click on the print server properties at the top
    10. Under the print server properties, click the drivers tab
    11. If you see your HP Officejet driver showing under the list please click on it. Then, click Remove. Click remove the pilot from the box pop up
    12. Click OK
    13. On the print server properties window, click apply and OK
    14. Close Devices and printers

    Step 2: Install the Driver:

Please click here to download and install the driver package for your printer. Once your HP Officejet is reinstalled successfully please test printing. If the printing problem persists, we will still add the other pilot.

Step 3: Adding a driver replacing:

    1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
    2. On the start screen, type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start.
    3. In the devices and printers folder right click on your HP Officejet J6480 (not the Fax version)

  • Left click on printer properties
  • Left click on the Advanced tab
  • Left-click on new driver
  • When the new driver window just press 'Next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
  • Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
  • DeskJet 6980 select the printer on the right. Choose HP . If Deskjet 6980 does appear to only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update is completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 6980.
  • After selecting Deskjet 6980 hit Next to complete the wizard driver new
  • Under the printer properties window, select "Apply", but don't hit not OK
  • Select the general tab
  • Rename your HP Officejet J6480 printer
  • Click OK
  • Then, right click on your HP Officejet again and select printer properties
  • Click the device settings tab
  • Under Installation Options click on the drop down menu "unit duplex (for printing on 2 sides)" and replace the "installed".
  • Once the settings have been adjusted click apply and OK
  • Once the other pilot has been added successfully, please test print to see if the problem is now resolved.

Please let me know if this procedure works for you. Good luck!

  • OfficeJet J6480 continue to feed the blank sheets after the last page of the print document then blocks.

When you print a document on my OfficeJet J6480, once the last page printed, the cradle of the cartridge moves back several times, then one or two white sheets feed through the printer. Sheets then another feeds and jams, requiring the duplexer to be deleted to clear the jam. This happens on 95% of the print jobs sent to the printer.

    Windows XP SP3

Unfortunately, the troubleshooting steps a false paper jam and find a real fundamentally the same.
I included a link to a document that is for a paper jam error. However, I'm sure you did 1st two solutions and if you please go above them, I want you to try, is the cleaning of the rollers and the duplexer and reset the products and checking the firmware to ensure that it is up-to-date. These solutions are listed in the order and you can find instructions step by step in this link for each step. Reset will be particularly important because it is one of the most effective tools to correct the problems of material with a printer.
