p6616f

The p6616f running Win 7 SP1 Home Premimum will support 16 GB of memory.  I have made several attempts to upgrade, and I am not successful.  When I put 2 (4 GB) sticks the computer goes to the BIOS but then want to recover Windows.  When I add the 3rd 4 GB stick, the screen no longer works.  The monitor has a light yellow as if it gets no signal.

Everything I read says it should work.  Thoughts?

The RAM sticks must be specific for your system.  They must also be matched sets.

All of a sudden my computer has no video output.  The computer starts, sometimes with the video but most of the time there is no video and the last few attempts there is no video.  When he's not out video takes somewhere around 5 to 15 minutes.  Then the screen displays "scramble" and I am forced to shut down with the power button.

I bought a new card for PCI - x 16 graphics Radeon HD 5450 (TigerDirect) and has not either any video output.  Impossible to get to the BIOS to change the preference of onboard video because the screens are black.

I thought that a discrete card would work even if there was a problem with onboard video, but same problem.  No video output of the computer.  The monitor, 'No Input Signal' message

Cannot understand why there is no onboard video video or add it in the graphics card.

Disconnect all USB devices and two HD storage, still no luck.

I had to a start-up screen that gave me an opportunity to:

"Start with windows repair" or "window to start normally.

I chose to start windows normally.

Once I got to the window accounts, I stop and tried expansion card.

Since then, I have NO video at all.

installed video PCIe card, set the BIOS for favorite video card... PCI-E

  • P6616F: PC will not boot after upgrading processor

I did some research which processor is compatible with my pc. I have a HP P6616F, AMD Phenom X 4 820 2.8 Ghz currently. I bought the FX6 AMD core 3.5 GHz.

Once installed, I turn on my pc, but see that the fan turns my screen stays on the mode 'sleep'. I have re installed my old processor and the computer works normally.

I checked for update of the bios and there seems to be none.

Any help to what I'm doing wrong?

For most things, there are not many benefits beyond 4 cores. An exception would be Adobe Photoshop and some programs that can benefit as many hearts you can give high-end video editing. For the most part, a 4 core 2.8 ghz processor is going to be as good as a 6 core 2.8 ghz processor. If there is a Phenom II, which is more than say 3.2 GHz, it might be worth it just for the increased clock speed.

  • Update video card (and a few other things)

A few questions about upgrades: first of all, can I upgrade the video card in my HP Pavilion P6000 series p6616f?  Current card is ATI Radeon HD 4200. If so, can you suggest the best replacement that can handle games? I have to upgrade the power supply too? I also think it came with 6 GB ddr3 ram. Can I put that as well... and what is the maximum it will take?

I have to upgrade the power supply too? I also think it came with 6 GB ddr3 ram. Can I put that as well... and what is the maximum it will take?  Recent mid-level video cards require a minimum of 400W to work properly.  I normally recommend at least 500W.  I love Corsair products that will give you more choices for video cards.  I believe that the existing PSU is ATX standard.  You can measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.

Here are the Specifications of the product for the computer.

  • Recovery without reformatting

"I have a"HP Pavilion p6616f desktop PC with windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I have the CD of restoration but when I boot from them, it seems he wants to format the hard drive to do the recovery. I don't want to do that. I want to reload all software without looking at my data.

    How do I do that?

    Thank you.

    You are the very welcome.

No, unfortunately the recovery partition will do the same thing as the recovery disks.

If you want to try and repair your current installation, you can do your own plain W7 installation media and use the repair option located on the lower left side of the Setup screen.

You can also use the installation media to reinstall windows and if you do not format the drive, it will create a Windows.old folder and you can copy your files from this folder to the new installation of Windows, but you will still need to reinstall all the programs you want.

The recovery partition will no longer work if you use this method to install Windows.

    Here's how...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • N Alvorix-RS880-formfat (Alvorix) motherboard

I'm having a problem with the computer restart randomly under heavy load, sometimes even a light load. I narrowed down it to a short circuit in the last two RAM DIMMS #3 or 4 or both. I would like to replace the MB with little or no change of material other than the MB.

I can't find a link to buy a replacement for MB, an idea? Or is there an another MB that will work with the operating system and hardware I have?

  • Printers disappear & sometimes reappear in the Panel

Windows 7 (64 bit) HP Pavillion Desktop P6616f
My HP 2 (Laserjet 1022, Officejet 5610) printers keep disappearing printers & faxes in my control panel. If I disconnect and reconnect the cables to the printer from the USB ports or start the computer with the USB unplugged and plug them in after booting, printers 'sometimes' reappear. I'll print a few things like a Word doc and then all of a sudden, I get a message that there are no printer and (devices and printers) Control Panel no longer has the printer icons. I KNOW THEY ARE THERE. Printers everything worked perfectly for 6 months and then all of a sudden this appear/disappear started happening.
Drivers must be ok that everything has worked well for many months before it started and the o/s remains the same, with the exception of Windows automatic updates which are automatically installed.
Tried to make printer sharing with my laptop which is running Vista several months ago but couldn't get it working. Don't know what parameters were affected, but the HP desktop computer where I have the current problem has always worked with printers. Thanks for the help.

    Hello

I suggest you run the printer Troubleshooter follow the steps in the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/printer-problems-in-Windows

    I hope this helps.

  • Printer print more slowly and with flashing RED light

I have a HP p6616f desktop runing Windows 7 Home premium OS. Recently, the receptors afer a system restore, my Samsung ML-2510 prnter slowed donw and a flight of red warning to the pririnetr kept blinking as soon as the power is turned on on the printer. When I right click on the printer and open the prinetr properties, there is just no indication of what has been and then there were two unknown debices stood Windows 7 could not find a driver for. I ran troubleshooting printer ly repeated my PC or through MR. FIXIT at your solution Center. Each time, he tell me no problem could be found. When I ran troubleshooting configures a device, everytme, e PC tried to install a driver but did not, was his attempt to insstall an update of the driver. And the "hardware and peripheral fault reports said: problems detected: unknown device doen't have a driver." And under "Device information", it listed ID; ROOT\LEGACY_REGFILTER\0000 and the error code: 28. All other devices I connected to his PC an addition to the standard items provided by HP are: a model AC-1 microphone, an external hard drive Verbatim, a tablet of PENPalJR entry, a video camera with build - in speaker and an all-in-one Dell Photo 926 printer an addition to the Samsung ML-2510. Explains a lot, except for the two unknown devices. I know that my ATI graphics card driver is not the most, because AMD has revised its pilot of almost every month, and the manual uninstall the old version and reinstall procedures of the new pilot is so heavy. I have the try once. I HAV eno way to check if the th etwo unknown devices are related to the ATI? AMD graphic card or not. That's why I dare not Unstall them so far.

It would be appreciated MUHC if you could help me solve these two puzzles. Thank you.

    Kam

    Hello

Method 1 : 28 error code occurs when the printer driver is not installed. Install the printer drivers.

    http://www.Samsung.com/us/support/downloads/ml-2510

Method 2 : check the following article.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-a-printer

    Hope that helps.
