Panel blinking lights OfficeJet 8500 has

My OfficeJet 8500 Panel has all lights flashing and a message saying please turn printer and then turn it on again.

When I do this, he comes back to the top, displays a brief message saying Code 0060 and then comes back to the message above.  Same thing happens after leaving that he unplugged for several hours.  Suspect I need to reinstall the firmware, but cannot find a way to do it when the Panel lights are flashing...  Thanks for any help

Yes, with electronic, sometimes it's cheaper and better buy new rather than repair it. Sorry, we couldn't get your current operational computer.

Good luck with what road you take!

If you have performed all troubleshooting, including the cleaning of the surface of glass scanner, then I would say you are right in your assessment of the defect.  How long have you had the replacement product?

However, I have one last thing, I would like for you to try.  I have the steps for to do you a factory reset on the printer.  I'll send them to you via private message.  Please check your Inbox for messages in the forum.  Before you perform these steps, please read Bob_Headrick wire on the printer reset, found here.

If the product is still under warranty, then I suggest call HP for Technical Support on this device.  If you are in the USA / Canada, then the number to dial is 1-800-474-6836.  If you are not in this area, please click here to access the global contact list for HP Technical Support.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kathy {personal info deleted}

    Hey Kathy,.

I see that you have a problem with the text in small font on printed documents.  You say that this only happens when the navigation and printing from the internet.  What browser do you use?  (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

Have you tried using another browser?  Normally this problem is the result of a problem of compatibility between the printer driver and the browser program.

So, you can try using a different printer driver, such as the 990 c driver.  The other pilot should be able to go beyond the question of compatibility and printing back to normal when on the internet.  For more information on how to exchange for a different driver click here.

    Hope this helps,

  • How to download pictures from a memory card to the computer on the new Officejet 8500 has more?

I recently replaced an old printer HP psc 2410 photosmart with a new Officejet Pro 8500 has more printer.  The installation went fine without error messages, and it will print, scan and copy very well.  When I insert a memory card into the slot, the printer itself recognizes files and displays them on the LCD screen and offers to print.  BUT... what I want to do is to download the files on my PC (Windows XP), and I can't understand how do!  There is no program of HP that appears and offers to transfer the photos as with my old printer.   I also expected to see the map locations shown as a removable disk, as I did with my old printer, but I don't see them.  In addition, my Photoshop Elements program does not recognize the card slots to be.

Then it dawned on me that my computer 'sees' map locations because it is not connected directly to the printer!  I created this as a wireless printer and I am totally new to this, so sorry if this is a stupid question... but there no way to transfer files from the PC card slot in a wireless configuration?  I'm totally confused...

    Hello

If your printer is connected to the network or wireless network, you must access it through the IP address.

Find the IP address of the printer. You can do this by clicking on the network icon on the front panel of your printer.

Open Windows explore and type \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of the printer.

You will see the memory card slot there.

You can do a "map network drive" to it if you want your printer card slot to be registered permanently.

  • OfficeJet 8500 has 910: Macbook Pro won't find my Officejet Pro 8500 printer

Until recently, my Officejet 8500 910 has worked very well with my Macbook Pro, desktop computer wireless Mac and iPad.  Now, it will not be printed with any of these devices. Yesterday, he worked with my iPad, but today it says that it cannot find the printer. On my Macbook and desktop computer, it is impossible to find the printer when I try to add.  You can find the scanner and fax part of my all-in-one, but not the printer. I deleted all my printers and tried to add this back.  I've stopped and restarted. I checked that my printer is connected.

I have same thing happened with a HP wireless printer in the 8600 series to work.  Sometimes he would find and connect.  Other times, it wouldn't. I appreciate all help.  Thank you!

    Hey @Jeanne33,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One Printer does not appear on your network. I can help you with that.

    1. As you only use Apple products means that the printer is no longer connected to your network or a parameter has been changed on your network. That being said, this is what we will do:
      Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights came on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. Try to print.

At this point if you are not able to print, then we will do the following:

    1. On the printer, click on Configuration, network and wireless view summary.
    2. If you see a line indicating connected the printer is properly connected to the network. If this is not the case, then, from the main screen, click on Configuration, network and wireless configuration wizard to add the printer to your network. Try once done printing.

At this point, you should be able to print. If the printer still doesn't seem to add as a device for the Mac or appear on any other device and then you have a setting on the router that has changed. Your best option would be to communicate with the person who is provided with the router and ask them to do the following:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Disable the guest network
    • Make sure that the router has a band of 2.4 GHz.

Please let me know if this allows you to print or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great day!

If this solves your problem, then please help others find this post by clicking on accept as Solution on my post.

If you appreciate my help, so please let others know by clicking on the icon below my post thumbs up.

  • I have an Officejet 8500 has more, but he can't find my Linksys router

I just bought an Officejet 8500 a more printer,.

It does not detect my router Linksys (WPA), all the other networks in this area are visible, except our Linksys router, with WPA security.

Tried to set up with the software, plug the USB printer and tried to connect the linksys router, it say: you are out of reach of your wifi access point (something like that)

    Help?

    Here are some tips:

    1. ensure that 802.11 g is present.  Other modes (such as 802.11n) wireless are OK, but g must be present.

2 broadcasting your SSID and don't use MAC filtering.

    3. make sure that your router has the latest firmware.

  • OfficeJet 8500 has stops at "now printing" After sleeping

Hi, Windows7 laptop computer, USB wire link for all-in-one Officejet 8500 printer has produced no CM755A, serial no CN0CKAR15R:

It prints OK when turned on first of all, then sleeps if not used for a few minutes as planned. But on sending the print order following its ' small screen wakes up & now a "printing" on it, but nothing else!   It won't work even once if I turn off, put in pause, then turn it back and return the print order.

I tried a soft reset using the network voltage electrical on/off/on in the order they advised me on this forum, without effect. It is powered directly from the wall jack via a single good quality extension for this only, & no power surge protection.

    Any ideas please?

I would make sure I had the latest firmware for the printer. I included a link to the update of the firmware here. In addition, you could disable energy saving mode in the configuration menu of the printer and go to preferences and scroll down and deactivation of the mode of energy.

Let me know if it helps.

  • OfficeJet 8500 has Pro Plus: elimination of printer

Just to check what I've read.  I want to give my Officejet 8500 a Pro Plus but am concerned there may be personal information stored somewhere on the printer.

Are there other data stored on the device, for example information copied from documents?

If there is, how to remove these data.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The only information stored in the device are the journal of faxes (a list of the last 30 fax jobs), any content as an original document copied is never stored on the memory of the device itself.

From the Configuration Menu, select Tools, and then click Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.

That should erase any personal fax header information / details, recall lists or fax log.

    Kind regards

  • HP OfficeJet 8500 has more 910 g give up connection every now and then

I explored the forums for 8500 more connectivity issues and did the following, but the problem persists:

I am using the Wi - Fi connection (force 4), web update services and software packages, can use eprint, but printer loses connection (even with eprint servers). I have it set to fax so phone line is connected and noticed that when a call arrives (or goes), it restores the network connection. It seems that he loses the connection when it starts in mode 'sleep'. Is there a way to disable, and then do a test?

I noticed that first print wirelessly from a laptop computer crashes and comes back with an error (sometimes work after a long time), but the second try and then work (it seems that the first test is trying to put the printer back to the mode 'sleep'!)

I have the static IP assigned (in both the printer and the router) and static DNS primary.

I have IP v4 ONLY on the printer.

What can be done? Help, please. The printer is only a few days old!

I finally realized that you can go to the 'Préférences' menu on the touch screen and disable the "power saving Mode" - this apperently solved the "problem of loss of connection" (with static IP/DNS and IP v4 only)- but the screen was continually WE (and quite brilliant - more than a lamp at night!). I also found that there is an option under "Tools" screen saver But the screensaver works just the video "promo" continuously without interruption and with the same brightness on the screen. Is it possible to say 'black' after 10 minutes?

Perhaps HP should provide a screen saver that turns off the display after a period of inactivity.

APPARENTLY, THE LOSS OF CONNECTION BUG IS DUE TO "ENTERGY SAVE MODE" WHERE THE WIRELESS LAN CANNOT DETECT TRAFFIC TO WAKE UP THE PRINTER. THIS SHOULD ALSO BE FIXED IN THE NEXT FIRMWARE.

To SUMMARIZE: In order to avoid the 'loss of connection"(for wireless) perform the following steps:

1 assign a static primary DNS and static IP address (through EWS doing via a browser is easier - see below on access EWS).

    2. optional but recommended: connect the printer wireless MAC address to the same static IP address in the configuration of the router (router consult manual or vendor on how to do this).

    3. via the integrated Web server accessed through a browser of computer - under 'Network' settings, select 'IP v4 ONLY' (EWS is accessed through a browser on the same wireless LAN by typing http://192.168.1.xxx - where xxx is the IP address assigned statically - you can find it via touching the wireless icon on the screen in the printer)

    4. go in the 'preferences' and disable the "power saving Mode" (in the touch screen of the printer interface)

    5. optional but highly recommended: turn on the "screen saver" in the "Tools" menu (in the touch screen of the printer interface)

6 see if it the problem slves (mine is running fine since then)

These steps are for HP Office Jet 8500 has more 910 g printer. I hope it helps someone here!

  • Pavilion p7 - 1266 s: Officejet 8500 has not been recognized by the HP Pavilion desktop computer

I have a desktop HP Pavilion p7 - 1266 s and a Toshiba laptop. The two are connected, wireless, a HP Officejet Pro 8500. Both are running Windows7, 64-bit.

Until yesterday, I was able to print on both computers with no problems. Today, I can only print to the Toshiba laptop. When I go to devices and printers on the desktop screen, the Officejet is gray and I cannot print. This happened once before, about a year or two ago, and I don't remember how the issue has been resolved. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi @JimCon,

I understand that you are able to print your Toshiba, but not from your HP Pavilion computer. I see that you have your 8500 wireless configuration and that when you look into the device and printers, the printer appears greyed out. I suspect deleting and re-add the printer will solve the problem, but it may be better to run printing HP and doctor Scan because it is a free utility (tool) that helps you to quickly solve or identify common printing, scanning and connectivity problems including but not limited to:

    • Connectivity:

USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

    • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

    • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

    • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

    • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

Source:try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

Click here to download and run the print and Scan Doctor > > www.hp.com/go/tools

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to find the key and the box are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

    • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

  • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

  • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

  • Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

Thanks for the help.  I had already used the function of print head cleaning, and he did note. I think I used all auto functions available and nothing has worked. So I removed the print heads, and against some inet warnings, wiped them, put their back makes it a hard reset and had a hammer ready to do the final solution. I looked up to the replacement cost of the print heads, then sought a new printer, that would be less than to change the printheads. Finally, in desparation, I turned it off and went to bed.
