Passphrase WPA Wireless Setup

I have a new network which has numbers like the WPA code. How can I enter numbers instead of letters on the keypad of the printer in the wireless

Assistant

Please specify your printer model.

You can usually type numbers by pressing the button several times until the number appears (similar to SMS)

A touchscreen will more probably a touch button with number on the button to switch to a digital keyboard.

  • Wireless Setup problems

I have been using my p1102w with the usb connection, but due to the reorganization of the House I would like to configure the wireless. I went to start and programs and click Wireless Setup. When it asks me to choose my SSID, I select it. It gives me an error "the printer could not communicate with any router or with the given SSID access point" or something of that nature. I made sure that the wireless button has been pushed on the printer, so it was blinking. IM at a loss to know what to do now. Thank you.  My model is CE651.

For the readers of the forum of the future, I solved my problem by changing the name of my network to something without spaces. For example, instead of "fluffy dog" is now "fluffydog". After that the installation program immediately recognized my SSID.

  • How can I find the name of the network and the WEP key or passphrase WPA from my computer

I need to install a printer on my laptop, and I wanted to do it by using a wi - fi connection.  But its asking me my network name and the WEP key or the WPA passphrase!  Of course, you can say I'm not very computer savvy and my son actually made me the laptop for Christmas and it was all set up but now I try to install this printer all on my own and I don't know where I can find this info on my computer.  Help!

It may be on a printed label attached to the modem/router. Take a first...

If it is not obvious and you take note of the passphrase in the installation manual, you can reset the modem/router.

  • C4580 change settings (from the open to WPA) wireless

    Hi all

I have a C4580 and he was initially installed with wireless open (for various reasons at the same time). Now, I changed to use WPA and a password. Before the change, it is a very happy camper and worked very well. Now, he said only: "disconnected" and I can't print. Can I change any laptop here in seconds to use the new settings, but I can't find anywhere that I can change the settings. I got two calls for support for about 4 hours of total and they executed me all over the place. I can't believe there is no setting I can change to activate the new settings of the router into the printer. Other than to do an uninstall and reinstall, is there a shorter method to activate the new configuration of the router? As I mentioned, it was quite nice before changing the security setting. It is really becoming a car accident. Can anyone offer a solution more simple as the relocation (or supported by calling again? Please no.... not yet)?  Thanks for any help!

    Kurt

    Sure!

    • First, remove the password of your network (temporarily) so that your printer can be back on the network.
    • Then, print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page.  Get the IP address of the printer.
    • Now type this IP address in a browser.  You will see the printer's built-in Web server.
    • Go to the tab network, 802.11 (left), Advanced tab.
    • Enter your new password information, etc.  But first... before you leave...
    • Go to the tab Configuration IPv4 and set a manual IP address of the printer (the one used above), subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway, and DNS are the IP address of your router (probably your IP printer with a '1' after the last point instead of what the printer has).
    • Click 'apply '.  The printer works now with your new password, but not before you go back to your router to apply it again!

Reset the printer and the router and good luck!

  • C8180 and having problem Wireless Setup.

I have a C8180 that I use wired to my router for over a year, but had to move the router (WRT54G v2 w/fw ver 4.30.5) to reflect the location of the modem sat (new).  I really want to connect a cable through floors and walls if not absolutely necessary, then try to configure the wireless printer.

Problem is that I can't find the correctly entered WPA key via the front panel.

Suggestions? Is there a utility that I can use to configure that temporarily wired while? or via USB cable (still tentative)?

I tried to ask the question about the live chat support, but the session has been altered somehow.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.

With the ethernet cable is still connected, type the printer's IP address in a web browser, and press ENTER. Now click on the network at the top option, select Wireless 802.11 g from left to right, and then start the Setup from there wireless Wizard. Now, you can type the password on the keyboard, and it should work fine. Unplug the ethernet cable before turnin on the wireless radio to check if it is connected.

  • Wireless Setup...

I don't know if I am posting this in the right place... Please don't hang me if I'm not!

I just bought a Studio XPS 8100 with Windows 7. I have a wireless router that is "hard wired" to my old Dimension 4550 with the new 8100 connected to the router with a wireless TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER

I have a printer HP PSC 750 (all-in-one) that is "hard wired" to the Dimension 4550.

Can someone tell me (exactly - I'm not a geek) how to implement the 8100 so I can use my printer?

I made several attempts to do this without success. In the last attempt (on the 8100), I clicked on a document and then select print. A dialog that ask me to "select a printer." Given that my printer is not listed here, I've selected "Add printer" and then clicked on "search for a printer.

Who opened an another dialog box that lists two computers and I chose the 4550.

Another open dialogue box which gave me a choice between a writer XPS and my printer. I chose my printer.

Then I had a dialog box (to connect to the printer) that said "NO DRIVER FOUND". I clicked on OK to that and got the attached screenshot. Apparently, during my network/router setup I didn't give a name to something and it is displayed as "Unknown", but the network is working properly.

At this point, I'm lost. I looked in my HP folder in C:\Program Files, but I can't find the. INF file. Even if I could, I don't know that I would like to know what to do with it.

I don't know whether I'm doing things correctly. Should I be inserting my HP disc in the 8100?

On the 4550 under "Printers and faxes" machine, I have the box "share this printer" checked.

On the machine of 8100 under control panel > network and internet > Network Center > advanced sharing settings, I the 'turn on file and printer sharing' lit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Here is the attached screenshot

    Thank you... Photo taker.

  • HP J6450 really does support WPA Wireless encryption?

I just bought a new J6450 yesterday, and when I tried to install it as a wireless network my SSID does not appear (even if the PC just next to the printer is connected to my network).  Even when you enter the SSID manually the installation process does not recognize it. There are other SSID in the region that appear during the installation.  I confirmed that my router is broadcasting and the printer was 4 feet from the router, so I know that is not due to the intensity of the signal.

Details of router - NetGear WPN824v3, configured for either 802. 11B or 802.11 g (auto mode), WPA encryption

The only thing I noticed during my research it tonight is the SSID that was listed when installing 2 are encrypted and most of the HP support info and documentation related to the wireless configuration seems to refer essentially to WEP.  If the HP J6450 really does support the WPA encryption, and if so, does anyone have ideas for troubleshooting why it does not recognize my router?

    Thank you.

Connection to the router under the admin user, then "Wireless settings" page is a Mode setting and the default value is "Auto 108 Mbps.  Using the arrow in the drop-down menu, change to "b and g" then set the channel to 'Auto' and save the configuration changes.

    Hi LAMom,

To access your routers EWS-Embedded web server you must enter the IP address (example: 192.168.1.1) on the address line of your browser. Then you can check that the security set password for your network. If you don't know how to access your routers EWS, you may need to call your internet service provider for help.

  • Cannot find option on the settings wpa wireless with sp3 on windows xp

I have a toshiba satellite pro that I adapted a new h/d, which came with xp pro with sp3.

I did all the updates and the system of microsoft verification says its perfectly up-to-date, but I can't select the option to choose wpa - psk for my wireless settings.

Before the old h/d failed I had to download sp3 from microsoft to allow this option that we had a new router that uses only wpa - psk and it worked fine, since the new operating system has been installed it will not allow it.

I found a download of microsoft specificallyt for wpa psk, but when trying to install windows indicates the update is older than the one already installed sp1, any ideas?

  • WPA-wireless - laptop upgrade from WEP to WPA

I have an old laptop Toshiba Tecra9000 XP and want to use it on my home wireless network.  Monitoring uses WPA security and the tecra has only WEP.   How and what I update. I was going to start with service pack 3, since mine has service pack 2.  But if SP2 can use WPA, I would prefer that.

Although SP2 does support WPA, you sure you're not referring to WPA2?  SP3 supports WPA2 or you can get an update for XP SP2 here WPA2:

  • Photosmart B110a - Wireless Setup Assistant starts whenever it is turned on

    Hi all

I just spent half a day to set up my new printer wireless HP Photosmart B110a. (CN245B)

He luckily easy, but ultimately all the software is installed on two computers and printer is wireless connected to the router on my home network. Printing, ePrint, scanning everything works fine.

With the exception of this problem: I turned off the printer using the power and she handed over after 10 minutes. I've done several times, and when turned on, every time the printer wonder if I want to configure the wireless connection. If I click on Yes, then he begins the wizzard - wireless and the password must be entered again etc. If I click on no, then the printer just starts and runs very well. It seems that he does not lose the connection settings.

Whenever I turn on the printer with the button, it is from the wireless configuration wizard. Is this a bug?

    How can it be solved?

    Thank you

    Smartyx.

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you don't know it, enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP address of the router to the bridge and the first DNS entry.  Let the second white.

    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.
