Pavilion 14-066br: Touchpad freeze

Hi, I have this very annoying problem where the touchpad freezes from time to time. He always thaws by itself, but it can last between 1 second to 1 minute for that to happen.

I read the solutions for other people with the same problem, but nothing seems not to work. I tried to hard reset, reinstalling the driver, update the driver, reset the keypad touch and all the rest I found in this forum.
What can I do now?

Hi @walloguilherme,

Thank you for the update.

Nothing has alleviated the question and you did 2 laps, I suggest that you contact HP support for assistance.

    Hello saandeepa,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your touchpad freezes on your HP Pavilion Notebook 15.

Let's start by ensuring that drivers are up to date. You can find them here: Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

    Hello

Does this mean that only your touchpad freezes or the computer?

So without more information it of difficult to say something about this but I recommend you to install the latest driver for the touchpad on Toshiba website:

  • TouchPad freezes on Satellite L40 - 18Z

    Hi all, first Post.

I am a former technician of I.T. & worked on computers since 1984, & on laptops since 2001.

This topic is mainly about the L40 - 18Z, but 2 other models are mentioned.

I met a problem with the TouchPad on a Toshiba L40 - 18Z, (& also an A100-338) running costs two installs 32-bit Vista Home Premium but not a recovery Partition or a Dvd.
Same problem as well on a L300 - 25K running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

The touchpad freezes sometimes. Sometimes, you can move the arrow cursor, but very slowly.

All 3 work fine, now with a Usb mouse.

ALL the latest drivers on the Toshiba site are installed on laptops all 3.
All updates are installed with Microsoft.
ALL have the latest Bios updates.

The L300 - 25K & the A100-338, I think I solved the problem by installing the package of value added, but the VAP software is not listed in the section for the L40 drivers.
I tried both the L300 & A100 VAP on the L40, but they did not work.

Strangely, on the L40, I reduced the 1280 x 800 screen resolution to 1280 x 768 & the problem seems to have, at least for the last day or so!

Also, I found that unplugging the power cord "cured" the problem on all 3 laptops right now.

I tried to feed all 3 laptops without batteries at the same time that the fault occurred, but cela made no difference, while the batteries must be in agreement.

The L300 is my own personal laptop & the other 2 are members of the family.

I don't think that laptops specifications is relevant to this problem, but let's go anyway:

    Toshiba Equium L40 - 18Z (PSL48E-033008EN)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T2330 @ 1.60 ghz
    1.5 GB Ram Pc2-5300
    80 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba A100-338 (PSAAQE-006008AV)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T5200 @ 1.60 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    100 GB SATA Hdd
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba L300 - 25K (PSLB9E-03M02UEN)
32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (original Vista HP)
    Intel Celeron 900 Cpu @ 2.20 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    120 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

I would go to the bottom of this for all future repairs, so if anyone has any suggestions...?

    > I found that C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTPEnh.exe has been "blocked" so I moved the file to the desktop, unlocked, then he came back

SynTPEnh.exe belongs to the Synaptics touchpad driver and I think that you have software installed on the laptop that doesn't work with this touchpad driver
It's only a guess, but maybe some firewall or anti-virus tool could block this exe. Maybe you should check it using a clean operating system.

Also try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad maybe it helps.

  • Satellite A500 keyboard and Touchpad freeze but the computer is still active

Hi, I hope that some might be able to help me with this frustrating problem.

Keyboard and mouse on my laptop have, during the last 4 months, been freezing almost randomly.

This problem occurs only with the keyboard and notebook computer touchpad. If I use an external USB mouse, I have no problem.

Please note that this is not all the freezing system. Once the keyb + touchpad freeze has occurred, I can always plug in a USB mouse and continue to use the computer.

    I have windows 7 64-bit.

And what model of laptop do you have?
Are you using the Toshiba recovery image or your own installation of the OS?

  • Aspire V3-371 Touchpad freeze

I have an Aspire new V3-371-596F.  Since it first started, I had problems with the touchpad freeze randomly.  The sroll two fingers is reversed, and I can't access all the settings to change the direction, either.  I downloaded the Synaptics driver on the Acer site, but Windows will not let me install the driver for the touchpad.

When I go into the Manager of peripherals-> mouse and other pointing devices, one device listed there: HID-compliant mouse.  He said that the manufacturer is Microsoft and not Synaptics.  When I try to update driver, I select the synaptic downloaded driver it says the best driver for my device is already installed.

How do you tell the computer on which it has not installed Microsoft mouse so I can use the right Synaptics driver?

    Thanks for any help.

Edit: I should also mention that a Synaptics HID device appears in the device-> Human Interface Devices Manager.  However, windows does not seem to recognize that this device is the mouse.

    Hi all...

I'll be back at Local Acer Service Center called the "highlights".

I send in the laptop of V3-371 yesterday (15.10.14) and I got it back later (16.10.14)

On the part of the technician, he told me that something wrong with the touchpad.

They rework the jury of the touchpad, which means that they resolder the Board touhpad and reconnect the touchpad cable.

Solve the problem, no more freezing issue now.

Dear friends, you and send it and try this...

I don't know if this is requested already or in the right place. Basically, my touchpad freezes. The laptop is not frozen because I can still read the page or what I'm doing if I press the arrow key.

    Hello

The first thing I would say is to download and reinstall the driver for the Synaptics touchpad on the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp64001-64500/sp64445.exe

    When reinstalling, restart the laptop.

  • Touchpad freezes / cursor disappears on Windows 8.1

    I have a Ultrabook from Split x 2 HP I bought a week ago.

I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows recently. I noticed that my touchpad freezes and my cursor doesn't work anymore, no matter how many times I click or try to revive. If I start using the touch screen, the cursor disappears completely and does not return. Happen completely randomly - sometimes every two hours, sometimes more than once per hour. It has nothing to do with the number of channels I open or how many times I use it.
I go to Device Manager to control the mouse pointer, and it says that the device is functioning properly. It shows also all the updates have been installed.
Sometimes it lasts only 10 to 15 seconds, other times I have to close my computer and wait 30 seconds before you open it, and then the mouse will reappear.
The driver is dated 23/08/2013 and the version is 17.0.2.24
Just in case, here is the information on my computer:
    Intel Core i5-4202Y 1.60 GHz
    4.00 GB RAM
    64-bit operating system

    It worked for me.

Go to the Generic USB (two of them) hub in Device Manager.

Go to the power management tab

Uncheck the box allowing the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    Turn it back on.

My touchpad stopped everything by searching for a solution. I have 'unchecked' boxes and the touchpad are back to life before the reboot. He has worked since then. (three days)

  • A5F92AV Pavilion DV7T-7000: touchpad of HP Pavilion laptop freezes

    Hi there HP community.

I had an availability upgrade to Windows 10 quite awhile, but I waited to upgrade until my computer has confirmed that my PC is ready for the upgrade.

Since the upgrade to Windows 10 touchpad of my laptop HP Pavillion freezes when performing certain functions.

I used my HP Support Assistant looking for new drivers, but it seems that I am up to date.

I did the same with Windows Update as well.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

It seems that when Windows has been improved to 10 he changed my touchpad settings (without asking). Changed Windows 'Delay MEANS' setting. I went to the settings and changed so that there is 'NO DELAY (ALWAYS ON)' and that seems to have solved the problem.

  • Pavilion dv6t Touchpad freezes

HP Pavilion dv6t, Win 7, IE9, no changes made to the system. My touchpad hangs. It gives a window with a finger and a red line through it. No other error message.

You are actually right there is a button to turn off the trackpad.  On some laptops, it's a physical button.  However, for you, it's that little TRAINED.  I made myself using laptops to work for training.  Double-tap the LED with the finger when it is red and it will trigger again.  Let me know that it works!

  • Pavilion 14 b-130sa: upgrade Windows 10: Touchpad freeze

    Hello

Recently installed windows 10 on my laptop, everything seems to work fine, although I noticed that whenever I press a key on the keyboard, my trackpad will be disabled / gel for between 5 to 10 seconds. Sound ' of course very annoying.

I looked through the forum and support site and found someone else had the same problem, but it is impossible to find the solution.

I tried to search for windows updates and update driver for the synaptics touchpad, but they are both up-to-date.

In any case I can fix this without going back to windows 8?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Portege Z30 PT24AE - Touchpad freeze intermittently

I have a book ultra z30 Portege (Windows 7 Pro) and a few weeks ago began to notice that the touchpad would freeze all of a sudden. All other functions work; That is to say by typing on the keyboard could perform an operation expected or right click would open pop a list of respect. However, I wouldn't be able to move the cursor was frozen.

I tried the Fn + F5 key or CTRL key. + F5 and all other combinations, I can find online.
The only thing that seems to work is me close the cover and opening it (available online as well) and then I have to log in again to continue my work.

Any thoughts on what is happening here... All the drivers are updated.

I've updated my laptop it has windows 8.1 to 10 and for a few days then my touchpad/pointer has been gel 4-5 seconds after I touch any key on the keyboard. for example. If I hit enter then I can't move the pointer for a few seconds... I can always use the left and right click while the pointer does not move.
