Guaranteed compatible using modules in a major memory manufacturer upgrade is the way to go if you want no surprises when you plug new modules. Do not add the new memory module that is already there. Remove the original memory unless you can locate a module that is identical in every respect to be placed in the empty soDIMM slot. You don't have to try to match the specifications of the module of the computer laptop memory published unless you like surprises.

  • UCS hot add/replace memory/CPU

Hello. I know on cisco UCS C460 we can expand the amount of memory using memory riser cards. Memory riser cards are hot-swappable. This means that when I run Win2008R2 Datacenter Server c460 I can hot add and replace the memory riser card memory?

Can I hot replace memory on the motherboard slots?

What UCS server models are supported CPU hot add/replace?

    Dmitry,

Yes the risers of memory are hot-swappable, so assuming that the bare metal OS can support memory added to hot it will work.

There is no DIMM slots on the motherboard directly on the C460.  Memory riser is only motherboard for memory interfaces.

There is no such a thing to my knowledge as an addition to hot CPU on all Cisco platforms.

See the Installation Guide HW for more information:

I don't know if I have a faulty memory module or if it is a problem that can be fixed with a system restore? Can someone help me please?

    Hello:

You need to replace the memory module.

Try first, remove and replace it.

If you get the error, buy one with the same characteristics as the bad.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP technical support for a replacement of the faulty memory Strip guarantee.

Make sure that you remove the battery and disconnect the laptop power adapter before working inside.

  • HP Pavilion DV71-4100 Memory Module failure

    Hello

My product is a HP Pavilion laptop as follows:

    Product: ww181av

    Model: DV71-4100

    Series: [personal information]

My phone worked terribly slow and I thought I had a virus.  Analyses have shown that I have not.  I ran HP diagnostics and came with a memory Module failure with the following information:

    Failure ID: m89jxt-5A76KO(or 0)-xdOO(or 00) 2 k-4o(or 0) 2eO (or 0) 3

    Part ID: 181AV

Sorry for the question O/0.  I don't know if this is o or zeros.

Is it a simple part replacement (IE a chip memory) and if so can I order and install myself?  Or is it something I need to take to an HP repair center in THE West somewhere (assuming there is one)?  An idea of the cost?

    Thank you!

    [Personal information]

    Hello:

You should be able to do the replacement yourself. This is a great do it yourself project for the first time.

The first thing you need to do is to determine which module of memory is bad (if your laptop has two modules are installed, and many of them do).

I use a very technical but very effective method to determine which.

First remove the a/c and battery power (always do when you work inside the laptop).

Remove one of the memory modules. I leave the battery, then plug the power of a/c.

Turn on the PC. If it starts, and that you do not get the failure error memory then you were lucky and found the bad chip on the first try.

If it does not start or if you get an error, turn off the PC, unplug the unit, remove the bad chip and replace it with the first one you removed. The PC should now start and run OK.

So, now that you have found the bad chip, you must know how much GB is. Normally, it's on the sticker.

Just buy the same chip memory size with the same characteristics.

    You need a DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module.

If you let me know which module of memory of size you need (2 GB, 4 GB), I'll post a link to a site that sells the memory at low prices.

Depending on which chip the size you need, replacement costs must not exceed $40,00.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

The memory of the removal and replacement procedures are given in Chapter 4.

  • Pavilion A700 n memory upgrade

    Hello

I want to upgrade the RAM on my Pavilion Z700 n that was installed with 512 MB. When I got outside, the label on it said that it was a PC3200 400 MHz DDR.

But when I checked online, the manual said that it the PC uses PC - 2700 RAM.

Also, when I checked in with Crucial line for the compatible modules, the site suggested that I could have a maximum of 2 x 1 GB PC-3200 modules while the manual says I can install up to 2 X 512 MB PC-2700 modules.

Could someone clarify if I can install 2 X 1 GB PC-3200 modules on the machine?

    Thank you

Your PC has a motherboard ASUS A7V8X-(Kelut) . The plug from motherboard to state that it will accept 2 GB PC2700 / memory modules DDR PC2100 non ecc.

Think this Crucial than said you. The modules are guaranteed compatible with that upgrade is expensive compared to upgrade a PC more modern that uses DDR2.  PC3200 modules will have their speed downgraded by your BIOS by the SPD settings that the BIOS sees it in the code memstick. PC2700 / non ecc PC2100 modules are simply not easy to find because they are no longer manufactured.

Yu will have to remove the installed OEM memory modules and use only new replacement modules

This means that your notebook is a discrete graphics solution and not UMA graphics card.

  • Question on Pavilion DV6-2140EF memory upgrade

    Hello

I tried to replace my 2 * 2GB memory modules by modules of 2 * 4 GB on my Pavilion DV6-2140EF

The maintenance manual mentioned that each module of memory should be 4096-MB, 1066 MHz DDR-3 DIMM (part number 579155-001)

It supports the total system memory of 8192 MB (4096 MB x 2, dual-channel).

I bought these two 4 GB modules:

    Corsair RAM DDR3 up to 1066 CL9 Kit2 COR

But it did not work. Windows 7 64 bit Pro could not start, even if the memory of 8 GB was visible through the BIOS and test memory BIOS was ADOPTED. I tried with a single 4GB module and I had the same problem. When I handed the older modules, it worked good gain.

Now, I am planning to buy these modules:

    Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) 204-pin PC3-8500 DDR3 SODIMM, Unbuffered, CL = 7, NON ECC, DDR3-1066, 1.5V, 512Meg x 64

    Hi, Niko:

I want to save you money...

According to the specifications of your PC, it already comes with a 4 GB module, so you only need another module of 4 GB maximum memory up to 8 GB.

The essential module that you posted must absolutely beautiful work, but simply get one of these 4 GB chips.
