Pavilion AB221NL: touchpad

Hello, I recently brough a computer hp pavilion ab221nl laptop and I found myself having problems with the touchpad. The thing is, when I tried to play a game that I just installed, I found myself unable to walk and turn the Visual at the same time in the game. I can either walk or set the Visual and cannot do both at the same time. I tried in another game as well, but the problem persists. Is this only a problem for my pc, or is this something normal? and is there a way to fix this? or do I have to buy a mouse? because I'd really rather not. I hate using a mouse, especially for a laptop. Does someone have a solution please?

Hello

Hope that it will be simple to solve

As I said, you should just need to disable SmartSense or PalmCheck Control Panel of Synaptics - but from what I saw, it seems no longer operate Windows 10 versions of this driver (or all the drivers of the series of 18/19).

You may be able to work around this problem as follows.

First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

Version of the Synaptics 17.0.18.8 driver

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open Control Panel, open programs and features, right click on the Synaptics driver and select uninstall.

When finished, restart the laptop.

When windows rebooted, open your download folder and re-run the installer of Synaptics - when it is finished, restart the laptop.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the entry of Synaptics.

Disable SmartSense or PalmCheck (place the cursor on the off position), then check if the touchpad works now with a key on the keyboard is pressed.

If so, turn on your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.

  • Pavilion dm4 touchpad

I upgraded my Pavilion dm4 Entertainment notebook for Windows 10 and my touchpad has stopped working. All my settings are correct, and I checked to see if my touchpad driver was that it is up-to-date. I have no idea what to do. I have not had this problem before. It does not allow me to use it to scroll, highlight or click. All it will let me do is move the mouse and zoom in & out. It drives me crazy. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    Method 1.

I suggest you completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall.

    Follow these steps.

    • Press "Windows + X" and click on "Device Manager".

    • In the list of devices, you should see the drivers for the touchpad.

    • Right-click on the device and select "Uninstall".

    • In the dialog box uninstall, make sure that you select the option to remove the driver package from the system. This causes the installed driver package more soon to be deleted.

    • In the Device Manager Action menu, select ""find the hardware changes " option." This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

    Method 2.

Moreover, if there are no updated drivers available on the Web site of the manufacturer of the computer, then don't download the latest drivers and try to install in compatibility mode of Windows 8. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    a. download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

    b. right-click on the driver configuration file and click on 'Properties'.

    c. click the "compatibility" tab and check the box ' run this program in compatibility mode for " and select the Windows 8 operating system from the menu drop down and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

    Hi hannelius,.

Welcome to the HP community! I see that you are having problems with your TouchPad. I'll be happy to help you with that. There is only the driver for the TouchPad one and is the Pilot of the Synaptics TouchPad. The first thing you can try going to your manager and device under the mouse and other pointing devices, make right click on Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad and then select uninstall. Make sure you have a mouse that you can connect, then reinstall the driver that I linked above.

This document from HP Help and troubleshooting the TouchPad which will show you how adjust the gestures of the sensitivity and turn it off.  This should help with the problem of sensitivity, that you face.

  • Pavilion dm4 touchpad is dead

I have a Pavilion dm4 2165dx.  The product number is QE375UA #ABA.  The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

We had this laptop for about two weeks and since last week, the touchpad pointing device has been utterly extinguished.  I installed the latest version of the BIOS and the Alps pointing device driver.  These two have already installed the latest version, but I reinstalled in all cases.  I also did a hard reset by taking back in the battery and now the power button for 15 seconds and then put the battery and power on.  Nothing did.  The Panel said the Alps pointing device does not work correctly.

Any suggestions?  It is time to return the laptop?

You did all the troubleshooting procedures except reinstalling the OS, and somehow, I don't think it will make a difference.

It's time to return the laptop.

  • Pavilion G6 touchpad driver download link does not work

    I own a HP Pavilion G6 model 2010ax.

I tried to download the drivers for touchpad for the model from the following link on the Web of HP India site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-106935-1&cc=in&dlc=en&lc=en...

A page is not displayed an error message is displayed by clicking on the download button.

    Final download link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56001-56500/sp56465.exe

Is there another place where this driver can be downloaded? Or should I use the latest orders from synaptics Web site. Even if it provides drivers to download, synaptics Web site recommends using drivers that are released by the manufacturer of the laptop.

    Hello:

It seems that the driver link does not work for all phones g6-2000.

I would use the model series g6-2100, which should work perfectly (and the download works also).

Otherwise, feel free to use the one directly from synaptics.

  • Pavilion dv6t Touchpad freezes

HP Pavilion dv6t, Win 7, IE9, no changes made to the system. My touchpad hangs. It gives a window with a finger and a red line through it. No other error message.

You are actually right there is a button to turn off the trackpad.  On some laptops, it's a physical button.  However, for you, it's that little TRAINED.  I made myself using laptops to work for training.  Double-tap the LED with the finger when it is red and it will trigger again.  Let me know that it works!

  • Laptop Pavilion G7: Touchpad

Because Windows 10 has been installed (24/12/15), the lock on the touchpad light won't come to disable the touchpad. I always use the wireless mouse, no touchpad. I would like instructions to stay simple (old lady lol).

Also noticed mention in my quest to solve this, something about the execution of an update of the Windows driver. Belongs to this problem? How do I not screw it anything upwards?

And BTW, after the installation of '10' speakers did not work; my stepson set (he ran the installation) but I didn't know what he was doing.

    Thank you!

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Thanks for your reply. I don't feel that it is useful to take back to 8.1 for that one glitch. I just ran analysis updates. Always light did not come so I disabled the touchpad manually in the properties of the mouse. Just don't forget to mention to anyone that would work on my laptop. I sometimes leads him to the local electronics Center for renewal antivirus. (they are free to Walk-ins without complication). Who knows? Maybe they know the fix. I wonder, though, if Microsoft is aware that 10 disables the ability to toggle the touchpad on some hardware.

  • Pavilion: synaptics touchpad problems.

I currently have problems touchpad and mouse.

I used my wireless mouse once and my trachpad has stopped working compltetely.

I have seen that it is a common problem but Ive tried everything and nothing works. a hard reset worked once to get my mouse works again without the wireless mouse but when I need to click top of cushion does nothing.

I tried another hard reset, but the mouse pad still does not work. the mouse only appears when I plug the wireless mouse.

When I go in the settings is not synaptics, so I downloaded synaptics for my laptop and he said 'impossible to find specific program BONES.' so I uninstalled the old version, downloaded the version for my computer laptop but still said the same thing, even if it was the version for my laptop.

    Any idea?

I also went in the mouse and the parameters of the touchpad and value no delay, but it also did not resolve my problem. I have the latest drivers (19.2.11.38) installed. Is there another setting I'm missing?

    Hello

Normally, you just have to disable SmartSense or PalmCheck Control Panel of Synaptics - but from what I've seen, it seems no longer works for Windows 10 versions of this driver.

Open the Synaptics settings panel, disable SmartSense or PalmCheck , then check if the touchpad works now with a key on the keyboard is pressed.

If so, turn on your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.
