Hello

As you mentioned the left SHIFT key and SPACEBAR does not work it means you need to replace the keyboard, as an alternative, you can use the on-screen keyboard or wired keyboard / wireless. To activate on screen keyboad on windows 7 choose demarrer→ Panel→Ease of Access→Ease to access Center.Click the button start the Visual keyboard.

  • Left SHIFT key of the T40 reveals context/right click menu?

    Hello all-

On my T40, on which I recently got properly installed, Windows 7 has a curious behavior:

When I press the left SHIFT key, it works the same as if I had pressed the right button of the mouse.  It works otherwise, I.e., then its use to capitolize a letter in an e-mail, the letter is capitolized, but as soon as I let go of the SHIFT key, the context right click menu will then appear.

It's extremely annoying, because I can't continue typing until I sailed out of the menu.

I checked to see if the keyboard customiser utility is the cause, I have currently my left Alt key works as a button of Windows, but it does not ask this question.

Anyone have an idea how I could go about fixing of this?

    Thanks in advance,

    G

    Too bad.

Had the customizer of keyboard configured to use the time left as the key to the application key.  Duh.

  • I was typing an email that has been of about 200 words I hit the space bar and grabbed the next word and looked up the eyes and my email everything was gone.

I'm at my wits end, HELP ME! I was typing an email that has been of about 200 words I hit the space bar and grabbed the next word and looked up the eyes and my email everything was gone! This happened to me several times and I can't ever find anywhere. It just disappears. Can someone help me? I want to know why he spends, how I can solve this problem how can I recover my work and where it went! I blame my laptop or windows or the manufacturer?

I wrote a full description of my problem, but of course it also disappeared. I type 2-300 words and pooofff they disappear I can't explain it better or go on any more because I just it loose once AGAIN all! I tried to explain in more detail a related problem, but of course he gone too so I send this before I lose too.
    original title: email disappears

The text turns blue, because you mentioned it.  The most plausible explanation to highlight all of the text while typing is due to hit CTRL-A, which is the same as Edit | Select all.  Then when you type a character when this text is highlighted, then highlighted (blue) text is replaced by the character you typed.  Be very careful to not press the CTRL key instead of the SHIFT key when you type a capital letter A or else which will never happen.

If your cursor jumps around then also scan your system against viruses and malware.

  • Windows will behave as if the left SHIFT key is stuck

I had this recurring problem where Windows will behave as if the left SHIFT key is stuck. I opened the keyboard on the screen and it does not show the key to press. While this issue happens, unplug the keyboard and by him plugging back in does not solve it.

I'm pretty sure that NOT to be the problem:
    (1) something inside the keyboard causing it to stick.
    (2) the keyboard is defective.
    (3) to a new update/program installed.
    (4) initiated by the user, (seemingly random).
    (5) the motherboard is faulty.

After searching several forums, it is clear that this is a widespread problem and is NOT limited to my hardware or operating system.
Unfortunately, it seems that most Tech this fired up as an individual problem and do not give the solution of rolling back/reinstall windows, which are not an option for me.

It is not last forever, which means that I still have not restart before it fixed itself (sometimes), and I tried almost every combination of buttons to try to repair.

    System information:

    Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 6.1.7601

    Intel Core i7 - 2700 k CPU @ 3.50 GHz

    Total system memory: 8 GB memory DDR3 - 1600 (PC3 - 12800)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 2 GB GDDR 5

    DirectX 11.0

In case you need something I didn't not give please ask.

Once again, I searched for some time prior to this announcement and have found no answers at the moment. Thank you for your time.

I had the same problem after breaking down or brewing Maj (sticky keys). See if the "Set up sticky keys" or deactivating solves the problem.
    http://KB.IU.edu/data/aaez.html

Even if you say that's not a bad keyboard, it could be. Try using a different keyboard if the deactivation of the sticky keys does not work. Sorry if it's a laptop and you do not have a USB keyboard.

  • Left SHIFT key of blackBerry Q10 is defective

By simply pressing the left SHIFT key, the key will work. This means that when you type 'y' or 'x', I get rather 'Y' and 'X' respectively. I have a QWERTZ keyboard.

The metal contact inside has very probably been flattened. You need to get the unit replaced. If it is less than one year and you bought by your carrier, they should be able to get a warranty replacement for you.

  • Left SHIFT key push the window at the same time key

I don't know if it is a hardware problem with the keyboard but Ive tried many things to resolve this question and I'm not sure what to do. Press my left shift key results in my left side of the window also key be pushed, I am positive im not accidentally pushing it and it still happens if I pull one of the keys. Press button of the left window also causes my left shift button to be pushed. tested with the on screen keyboard and that's what it shows. I tried to reset my keyboard via the menu of languages by switching input languages and reconnect my keyboard and restart my computer, but so far it has not fixed anything. Happen randomly while I was browsing the internet.

The most likely cause of this problem is a faulty keyboard.  If it is a desktop computer, it's simple and inexpensive to replace.

In the case of a laptop, it much more complicated and expensive.  Unless you're technically adventurous enough, probably too intimidating for you.  First problem will be to find the right replacement.  Which can be difficult because there are a myriad of different keyboards, even for the same brand/model.  It is a common problem on laptops because the keyboard is the computer cover under.

  • My left shift key beeps twice when you press on--NOT STICKY KEYS

My left shift key does not work. The law works fine. When you press it, it sounds twice. Has Ive restore my computer to an earlier point and that did not fix the problem, any more than to disable and turn off StickyKeys. The key itself is sensitive, it leads me to believe that it cannot be the entire keyboard. Any ideas would be useful.

BTW, I am running Windows 7 on a laptop Asus U43F

    1. See manual ASUS [service] to see if there is any special significance to it. http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/p/post.htm I thought, but it seems not applicable since it is not starting, it is when running.
    2. check the sticky keys for accessibility-related technologies starting with F1 for help. There are a number of them. start going through one by one to see if something is on. You may have accidentally market something (there are combinations of keys that do this). Control Panel, display small icons, accessibility.
    3. buy a $5 or $22 USB keyboard. IBM makes a mechanical keyboard nice $79, classic, I believe to be a joy to type on (they make them for IBM). http://www.pckeyboard.com/page/category/UKBD
    4. Plug it in
    5. Try the left SHIFT key
    6. If she still double beeps {is your installation of windows or something in the laptop, not your keyboard. you can try reinstalling windows using a repair, which is less expensive, you need to reinstall your programs and drivers, but you keep your data. you can keep this configuration, my mother a.} otherwise, {hardware of the laptop may be in need of repair could cost between $200 (replace keyboard)-800 $ (motherboard).}

There are more expensive mechanical keyboards, but they are for games.

  • What happened to the feature to get around on the artboard by pressing the space bar and dragging with the mouse?

What happened to the feature to get around on the artboard by pressing the space bar and dragging with the mouse?

    cwalker,

If it does not, it may be time for the list:

Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

The following is a general list of things, try when

    (A) the question is not in a specific file,

    (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

    (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. It is important to use this step three way: otherwise, things may persist.

  • Up and down arrow keys not working not

I got the HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO Notebook PC now for a year or two. I have been having some problems with internet connectivity and put my computer to "sleep".

However, a few days ago my keyboard randomly started acting strangely. When I would try to type some numbers of the letter /, they would come out differently.

    E.g. by pressing the space bar arise "." ' / M ' instead

I tried to restart my computer several times and installed an update of the BiOS that fixed all my issues except for my up and arrow keys. From now on, they have no function; I can't scroll with them and they don't seem to take the role of another key. I tried to use the keys on different programs. The key to using scroll works, but I still can't use the keys and.

Is there anyway to get the top and down arrow keys to work again?

    Larasoft,

You can do it yourself; It is not too terrible a task to accomplish.

Here is the Service Manual for your computer and page 50 are the instructions to remove the keyboard.  To actually get the keyboard itself you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 if you reside in the United States or to the Canada or click on this link and select your location, and the number is provided for you.

Now if you feel comfortable, the HP support service can provide you with a quote to get the keyboard replaced directly through them so that the option is still possible.

If I was helpful, or if you want to say thanks you can click the White Star under my name to give me congratulations.  I really appreciate it.

Please answer as soon as possible.

A possible solution to the problem of address bar: disable the Safari Suggestions

  • Shift key not working not

Hello. I work on Photoshop cc (on Mac) and try to put an object to scale proportionally, but my shift key stopped working. Help please

The first thing that comes in my mind is to take plastic of the Shift key and clean if necessary. There may be something that prevents him from pushing the button. Another solution is to click on the channel icon in the Options bar just between the letters W and H which will force proportions during the measurement of things in Photoshop. You must enter free transform mode and click the chain icon.

If you want to scale from the Center and to constrain proportions, then enter the free transform, string check icon, press Alt/Opt, navigate the mouse on the corner handle and start dragging.

  • SHIFT keys not working in a t420

    Hello world

My apologies for the lack of capitalzation.

Suddenly tonight, turning my caps lock key is kept. I would like to press the button, but it wouldn't turn off. After my laptop computer is shut down and restarted, the SHIFT key now works properly, but none of my shift keys work. everything else seems to work very well. I've not spilled something on the keyboard and nothing happened or changed between when it was working fine before and now. What is important, the two shift keys do not work, instead of one, while the rest keys in the area of the two shift keys seem to work fine, so it seems that the problem is some sort of issue with the shift key...

Thanks in advance for any help people can offer, I really appreciate it.

It is possible that the keyboard itself is fine and the motherboard went a bit wonky, but will be difficult to diagnose without a motherboard that is well known or known good keyboard.

I guess you could lift and remove the shift keys and check that it works mechanically (which is likely). Then I would pull out of the rubber dome (need to identify switches) to check the electrical contacts under him and try to fill it directly.

    Any keyboard off of eBay for X 220, {T, W} {4, 5} {1,2} {0, 0 s} will work.

  • the two shift keys not working not

I got an error of streamci.dll earlier today.  to restart, I discovered that my two shift keys were working is no longer.  given that I made experiences... Here's what I tried...

    1. I tried to restart

2 i tried to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver

3 - my computer is a convertible tablet also, and it has a virtual keyboard.  the shift FUNCTION keys on the virtual keyboard, which told me that the computer itself does entries correctly to the keyboard that assumes the virtual and the real key to the same port.  in any case, I would really like to get this fixed but I'm not sure where to go from here.  Help, please.

4 - caps lock keys work, but the only way I have access to special characters is through the virt. keyboad

  • InDesign CC: SHIFT KEY not WORKING NOT

I have a new IMAC and I just upgraded to Indesign CC. the SHIFT key does not objects or text in proportion. The SHIFT key should lock the object to unique size and allow it to be put on the larger scale. It's very frustrating because using the scale tool does not give the same results. I tried everything: I upgraded to Yosemite, I contacted Adobe support (no help, they said I had to re - install my wireless keyboard, I tried and it didn't work), I uninstalled the preferences (trashed their), I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and restart does not work either. I have read other forums about this and I don't have firefox, entourage or quicken currently running on this computer. This Mac is a company computer conencted to its network. Does anyone else have this problem in InDesign CC? Help, please!

Thank you! My computer was finally able to understand what was wrong. And as you said something was with it all. So from that point he wiped my computer and started from scratch. It downloaded the adobe programs and one at time have begun to add the server and other applications such as Word, Indesign test in the meantime. It took until he loaded the ANTI-VIRUS that controls the keyboard stop working. It turns out that the anti-virus we use called Webroot had a drop of water low called «Secure Pause before keyboard» This was supposed to be checked the and once it turned on my keyboard and quick access keys started working again! So happy that this has finally been resolved, it took months to understand.
