Presentation of BPM Suite Overview Oracle OpenWorld 2008

Hi all

I don't have a chance to join Oracle OpenWorld 2008. I heard that there is a presentation of "Oracle Business Process Management Suite Overview," which is very good to know. Can someone tell me where I can download?
(I tried to download from 'http://www28.cplan.com/'. But he gave me the blank presentation)

Thank you much in advance.

Best regards
Pearapon S.

He will be transferred to the cb site soon. In the meantime, send me an email at [email protected] and I will send it to you.

The steps that do not appear in the document you mentioned are included in this document. It takes you through the necessary extra step for the installation of Oracle BPM. Although for 11.1.1.4, it works very well for implementing 11.1.15 in a DEV environment.

    Hello

I have a good knowledge, but also work experience on SOA & Oracle SOA Suite 11 g.
Now, I've decided to learn Oracle BPM Suite 11 g.

Would you please suggest me the best resource for this.
I started going through Oracle BPM Suite 11 g manual. The book is good, but I just want to know if there is another resource/book is better than that.

    Concerning

I think you'll find "Getting Started With Oracle BPM Suite 11 g R1: a tutorial" to be most useful as you're getting started. The only problem with it is that it was written a few years ago using 11.1.1.4. Some of the screenshots is different in the current version and it does not include the new features added in the 11.1.1.5 feature pack.

  • BPM Suite

    Hello

What is the difference between Oracle BPM studio and Oracle Enterprise BPM?

That make the latter two are used?

Oracle BPM Studio is used by analysts and developers where all the modeling and development take place.

Business analysts use Studio 4 things:

    (1) business process model in a basic role of workflow business process diagram
    (2) document the business process for the participants of the end-user and developers
    (3) to simulate business processes and perform analysis to determine if the designed process will achieve the goals of cost, time and speed desired.
    (4) create business rules

    Developers use Studio for:

    (1) do the 4 things listed above
    (2) expose existing components of the enterprise (Java POJO, databases, bus service, .NET assemblies, web services, etc.)
    (3) create a logic that calls exposed components.
    (4) create variables that stores the information that each instance work item must do its job, he reached each activity in the process
    (5) create objects that can be used to carry information throughout the process. These objects can contain attributes for the storage of information, methods of the necessary logic and presentations to present information to end users within human activities inside the process.
    (6) create BAM dashboard reports that aggregate and display information of KPI in the form of pie, bar charts, and gauges.

Oracle Enterprise BPM is the execution environment which consists of:

    (1) an Administration console process to publish and deploy processes created by analysts and developers who use the Studio
    (2) an engine that runs either on a JAVA virtual machine or on an application (WebLogic or Web Sphere) Server
    (3) databases that automatically persist instance variables
    (4) a web based workspace that allows users to interact with instances of element of work flowing through the deployment process
    (5) views of dashboard BAM that show the KPI pie, bar and evaluate information

    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle BPM 10gR 3-Oracle SOA Suite 11g

I'm not sure that some body else already asked.

I produced Oracle BPM in production which is fine and happy with the way it works. Its developed from Version: 10.3.1.0.0 build: 100364 #. We use custom JSP, JavaComponent, etc. GRANDPA in this.

We are thinking of migrating to SOA to Oracle 11g Suite.

Is there any tool for that? If this isn't the case, nothing provided for?

Do we need to re - write our application BPM from 10 g to 11 g? What all parties might need to re - write?

To answer your question in the right way, I fear that there is no direct migration path of OBPM 10 g to Oracle SOA Suite 11 g. You will need to write to us - many things like

    1. the present of the BPM API are not public. If u will be something like GRANDPA as OBPM
    2. There is no support for PBL/Java in Oracle 11 g BPM. However, if you want to use the custom Java component you can use BPEL or spring with BPM. After all, each component is packed inside a single composite.
    3. it is recommended to have all of the dashboards and UI user developed with ADF if you are with Oracle SOA Suite 11 g but even if you have a JSP that shouldn't be a problem.

This topic has been discussed a few days in this forum. You can find the thread here

Try this. Using SQLPlus, bump the 'process' parameter (with apologies to Heidi to cut out of the book):

    SQL > show parameter processes
    SQL > alter system reset sessions scope = spfile sid ='* ';

  • confusion about BPM suite and suite BPA

    Hello

I am very very new to Oracle BPM.

I just checked the site Web and found Oracle provides two suites - BPM and BPA for the management of business processes. I'm quite confused, what is the difference of their use? It seems to me that they are very similar to each other in functional.

Is there an article that explained their difference?

BTW: if I want to choose a suite just for modeling, implementing and tracking purpose, does that mean a suite BPM is more appropriate?

    Thank you
    Lesley

    Hi Lesley,

BPA is a process robust tool used by business analysts to model their process and all of the modeling business. BPA has many different types of charts that allow you to see the different levels of abstraction and decomposition. As you would exect, BPA has a robust process simulation capability. If you hit the forum BPA (Business Process Analysis Suite you will get more information on this subject by experts in BPA.

Oracle BPM was built and designed from the outset as a tool for Business Process Management (BPM) lifecycle full. It is similar to BPA that he supports the process, documentation and simulation modeling. I use the same diagram to explain the process to executives, managers, IT, SMEs and business analysts. As a business analyst, the tool is not complicated and can be learned in a few hours.

Here is where the two differ. Oracle BPM has been designed as a complete management tool business process which implements and monitors business processes from the outset. Its features include:

  • Logic - BPA is not a BPM tool, so it is not intended to support the logic of process necessary to run. To support this, Oracle BPEL is used in conjunction with the BPA. As a developer using Oracle BPM, I use the templates and drag and drop to create a large part of my logic. Once I added an object, it can be reused in many projects using the dependence of project or important artifacts. I test my logic using the debugger to method or at the level of the process Editor. As I create objects used in my logic using Oracle BPM, I inherits the attributes provided by the components of introspectes. This means that if you have an ERP system with 138 attributes object, you don't have to rebuild this object from scratch in Oracle BPM.

  • TIME / run business process -end users interact with the process during execution using a STANDARD workspace. End users receive various roles. When they connect in the workspace, end users see as the work item instances that are in the roles assigned to them. There is an engine that stores instance work item information as it flows through the process during execution. The engine is as a traffic officer, ensure that the right work item instance goes to the right person in the right business at the right time.

  • UI - final user interface screens and complex interaction end user with a variety of screens can be built inside the editor of Oracle BPM toolset. The forms that you create are automatically presented to end users in the workspace.

  • Integration of existing assets THERE -Oracle BPM can expose and consume the components directly or via a service bus. Once consumed, the components can be used by any process that need to invoke the runtime.

    Hope this helps,

  • deployment of a BPM Application large Oracle with several projects of the user interface

    Hello world
I'm working on a large application with Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5.0.

I use JDeveoper 11.1.1.5.0 to build the application.
The application has many tasks user with a lot of the UI (one for each task of the user).

My problem is, whenever I make a small change in the project, I need to deploy this, which includes a master project and five or six projects UI (for now) for tasks of the user.
As demand grows, I'm sure that this will certainly become a problem.

So my question is if I do this the good sense? or should there be a more effective way?

    Thanks in advance

Published by: luke on April 17, 2012 12:16 AM

    Hi Luke
    1. as a general rule, there is NO need to have a user interface project for an individual task. As initiator, approver, reviewer, LegalApprover etc etc, you have like 10 tasks (.task files). You can have just a single project of TaskForms UI and have taskDetails.jspx generated for each of these tasks. This is appropriately.

    2. any Application workflow must have only 2 deployers. Deploy resources are for real Workflow stuff that will have the main BPEL or process, BPM, human tasks etc. Basically, everything that goes into the workflow project. And another official of the deployment is that the REST of things means that the UI TaskForms project and other project support as useful projects, WebServices, EJB projects (if you have Web services). All this will be deployed as a SINGLE EAR.

Lets take an example JDeveloper IDE point of view.
    1. application Name: SalesOrderApp
2 workflow project name: SalesProcess (he is a a project jdeveloper project SOA or BPM Project type and has all human tasks, bpels, process bpm, rules etc.).
3 interface user Project: SalesTaskForms (it is a form generated automatically for the first task you choose. Then for the rest of the tasks you can use this same project, to generate jspx for all others. WORK files. VIEW documents online on how to do it. I'll see if I can compile this list of URLS for you).
    3. support the EJB projects: MyEJBProject1 (some EJB project that connects to some specific to your back-end database project)
    4. support another Service EJB project: MyExtServiceProject1 (as another project EJB that uses data from an external source)
    5. some WebService project: SalesCreditCardValidationWebService (some WebService project to be deployed as. WAR file that performs a service).

Try to apply the Concepts of SOA for each Service your application needs. Instead of putting all the EJBs and everying in one giant project, try to split their need logically commercial/sage and geenrate separate projects so that they can maintain as it is to other projects and other applications.

Anyway, coming back, in the example above, you should have deployment just 2: 1 is the JAR file of SCA in the Workflow and another complete of the EAR file.
    (a) for the workflow project, right-click and generate a deployment profile to deploy all the workflow and NOT on the other projects of the user interface.
    (b) for each project individual genereate a profile of deployment such as MyEJBProj1, MyEJBProj2, MyWebService1, etc etc.
    (c) for TaskForms project, generate a deployment as SalesTaskForms profile. It is a WAR file.
    (d) at the level of the Application, create a new profile of deployment of the EAR type and now assemble all the projects in this EAR, with the exception of the Workflow project.

First of all, you deploy file JAR of SCA of the Workflow. You need to redeploy this again only when you make changes to the workflow, humantasks etc etc.
Deploy the full blown EAR file that has all the stuff (EJB JARs, TaskForm WARs, WebService wars etc.).

At any time, you change your code taskforms or redeploy a java, ejb, EAR file.

You should have a POT and an EAR to deploy at the end of the day. Infact this is how it should go into UAT, and production. They may not have many pots, multiple wars deployed. The reason why we have separated Workflow SCA Jar file is, because the workflow will not change frequently. And also older versions of SOA/BPM (before 11.5 FP) have a huge disadvantage. Whenever we deploy a workflow project, it will make existing processes VITIATED, unless you deploy a different version. This isn't a problem anymore for 11.5 + FP (Feature Pack applied). Therefore, be careful when you redeploy workflow project.

    Thank you

Start the following services first or set to automatic:

    Oracle TNS Listener RDBMS
    Oracle service LIVE

    Other services the Manual value

Go to your % APPL_TOP directory and click on envshell_. cmd. You can create a shortcut and place it in a more convenient location. Then % ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME % cd and run adstrtal.cmd apps/apps to start all your service requests after the startup of the database.

You are having problems to start the services of applications before the opening of the database.
