Print head clean function

What do you do when the print head cleaning function is not listed in Control Panel as the directions on the site says that it is. I use Windows 7 program.

I have a Deskjet 6840 not to check, but I think that the following works: with power on press and hold the power button.  While now the press the button and the button cancel (X) twice, then release the power button.

    Hi all

I recently bought a 1050c more printer in fairly decent condition. I used to use a Roland SP540v at the office but this 1050c was home so I'm somewhat familiar with printers large format.

His print beautifully after I replaced the timing belt, new valves of printhead on the ramasseherbe Assembly and removed all the air from the system. The only thing I noticed when I got all the covers off the coast has been the print head cleaning.

The cleaners C, M and received this pleated filter sitting at the window near the wipers but the black does not. Is this normal? I can see what appears to be a sponge sitting at the front of the vacuum cleaner that I don't see in color.

Refurbishable are printhead cleaning products? I only ask because it will be a unit of the House and I would try save as much as I can where I can.

    Kind regards

    Select this option.

I just went down and checked on my 1050C cleaners and Yes, they are the same.  Also the same on the cleaners of the 5000 series, IIRC.  Foam on all colors but black without foam.

Can you tell me where you extracted the floodgates of print head?  Also, I have a problem with the air in the lines on my 1050c and seeks to replace the system of whole tube by a refurbished.  But if I can try to solve it by simply replacing print head valves, I could even quite a bit of money.

    Thank you!

  • OfficeJet 6500: Print head cleaning Cycle - why not choose a color?

I'm having a problem with a single color (magenta) print does not correctly. I've had problems before with black. Why the prinhead cleaning cycle does not allow the selection of a single color for cleaning? Why should I lose the other colors of ink when there is only one that needs to be cleaned? I know that HP wants to sell ink, but be reasonable! That I had problems that appear only after you HAVE installed a new ink tank. And it has not shown using a cartridge to power after best-use-by-date. My guess is that if the ink cartridges are not stored properly the use-by-date means nothing.

There are a few components of the automatic cleaning cycles.  There are a set of wiper rubber that moved across the printhead to wipe or scrape debris from the print head.  All wiping little ink is spit of each nozzle to lubricate the wiper and help clear the clogged nozzles. The wiper is built on a unique sled with a motor that moves the wipers back and forth.  Allowing single color cleaning would require a much more complicated mechanical system, with four distinct and motors wipers to control.  (The wipers should be dedicated for each color.  She would cause the nozzle clogging if the black ink is allowed to mix with the color and would cause if different colors used the same color mixing wiper.)

Similarly, for your Officejet 6500, there is a pump system for a more energetic cleaning or for initial priming of printhead.  If it was designed for a single use of color, then a more complicated system, with four independent pumps and controls.

A Mater of reliability and economics, it is not practical to have separated in level printers cleaning cycles.

  • OfficeJet Pro8500 A909a cleans the print heads whenever his touring on!

    Hey elders ~

Why my Officejet Pro8500 A909a short "Clean printhead" feature every time I turn on my printer?  Is there a place I can tell you to STOP?  It's my expensive WASTE.  Help!

    Hi @eschro

You turn off the printer when you are not using it and turn it back on, or are you referring to light once it falls in mode 'sleep'? The following presentation may help explain why the print head cleaning is performed each time you turn on the printer.

The print head nozzles get clogged over time, most commonly by dried ink or microscopic dust particles. Nozzles are kept clean of servicing, including wipe them the surface with a rag rubber, ejecting ink through the nozzles to purge the particles and to prevent drying and pumping with ink to clean the print head. To keep the printer ready to print in color or black, these routines of service generally consume little ink in each cartridge, even if only black or color is used in the document being printed.

Tiny air bubbles form in ink over time and can block the flow of ink in the printhead long duration printers (IIC). In some printers IIC, bubbles of air can be caused by a change in the ink cartridge. Air bubbles can be removed by pumping them out of the print head. When you remove these air bubbles, little ink is also removed. On the IIC systems, multiple colors may use the same print head. When a single color cartridge is changed, some ink is also consumed since the other color ink cartridges using the same print head. - Source

There is no way to disable this feature, but in General, it is best to leave the printer on and allow to maintain on a regular basis, rather than turning off and back on.

I hope that answers your question. Happy Friday, have a great weekend.

  • power officejetPro 8500 to always clean the print heads

    Hello!

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500.  I got it specifically so that I would get a large number of pages are printed on the extra large ink cartridges.

However, when I turn off the printer for the night save energy, and then turn it back on the next day morning, the printer goes through a status of "Please wait" in which she appears to clean the print heads at least twice.

And we both know that the print head cleaning consumes a lot of ink.

I have no problem printing.  The printer prints very well.

But, when I look at the ink levels using the solution Center HP, ink fell considerably after this start procedure.

Why?  Why he cleans the head whenever I turn on the printer?   He didn't need it!

    Thank you!

    Hi Jim,.

It's a very good question. When the printer returns to the top, it goes through a maintenance routine to ensure there are no clogged nozzles and all colors are able to print the result of quality.

I have actually never turn off my printers at night in my home office because they don't really use a lot of power (I don't have the exact specification). I would say just to leave the printer on... is not worth saving.

    See you soon,.

  • HP officejet pro 8500 a909g: print heads

my printer has stopped printing in black ink, even if the ink level is more than half full.  Ran "clean print head" and he ran forever.  Still not printing or copying in black.  color copy.

    Hey @ahornplayer58,

I would like to help you to solve the problem that you experience when you try to print in black ink of your HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One Printer today. Thank you for troubleshooting that you have completed before reaching out for support, including. Right now, it sounds like you have a defective black cartridge or defective printhead. In this model of printer, you have two print heads. There is a printhead magenta and cyan and a black and Yellow Printhead. If a replacement black cartridge fails to resolve your printing delivers a replacement black and Yellow Printhead may be necessary. Saying that, there are still a few troubleshooting steps that we can try before replacing anything. Can I please you follow the steps below.

To start, please click here to access the troubleshooting steps. Once the support document opens please run through the solutionand four Solution. This includes all sub-steps under the two alternatives. A print head cleaning may be run up to three times to resolution. If you make three Printhead clean nothing helps, please do not proceed with any additional cleaning ink is used to clean the print head system, and you will just be wasting ink if you want to go forward.

If the problem persists, the next step listed would be to replace the black and Yellow Printhead. However, it is never a bad idea to first try a black cartridge.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Defective print heads reported

    Hello

My Officejet 8000 A809 has print runs streaky - the black cartridge seems to be the problem.

I ran the print head cleaning utility and it showed the black print printhead correctly but when I tried to print a document it printer reported that cyan/magenta printhead were defective and had to be replaced. I had a paper jam while the unit was running - if this means something :-)

These print heads are genuine HP and less than two weeks old. However I have heard and replaced two of them (with genuine HP products), but the printer continues to report that the print heads are defective.

What is the problem here? Any ideas?

    TIA... Brett

    Forget it, silly me!

I was confused with the cartridges printheads.

    Sorry :-)

  • Potential problem of print head

I use a HP Officejet L7780 printer.  The printer is in my house in the Southwest.  I'm missing the months more hot 6 (May - October), so I keep the internal room temperature does not exceed 86 degrees.  The printer is off in these 6 months.  When I got home, the printer was printing not every black line.  Naturally, I though that the black ink had dried up given the hot temperatures inside the House, so I bought a new black ink cartridge.  Who has not solved the problem, so now I suspect the Black/Yellow Printhead.  I removed the print head, cleaned up as suggested and reinserted.  Now I get the alignment error failed on the printer.  I followed the instructions to fix this error, but nothing seems to solve this problem, so I suspect the print heads may not because of the intense heat that they have been exposed to six months.  Does that seem reasonable? I didn't buy new print heads if this problem was caused by something else.

If the heart is the source of the problem, so should I remove the ink cartridges and the printhead of the printer and store them in a cool place for 6 months, that the printer is not used?

Yes, you can store them in an airtight container under normal room temperature. That should be fine.

I ask you to mark my post as the Solution so other users with the same issue can benefit from this thread.

I have the HP Photosmart 7520 and I am running Windows 7. How can I disable auto cleaning feature print head?

Using function Thi my ink so that I am not the same impression.

    Hello

To answer your question, unfortunately you can not disable this function where the print head will not clean itself. The printer is made to do to keep the printhead to collect ink on the inside contacts.

I hope that answers your questions.

  • Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

    Hello everyone,

the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

    1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
    2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

    At this point, I ask:

    1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
    2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

I hope that a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone will help me!

Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.
