Problem reading disc double layer, DVD player

Windows DVD Maker burned fine on my drive of Verbatim DVD + R double layer.  But he won't play in any dvd player, we have.  Also tried to play in our portable dvd player and the PS3 with no luck.  What Miss me?  The 4.7 GB DVD works fine at our DVD players.  Thank you

Thanks for your reply KSib.  I had the dvd recorded in the standard wmv file that windows saves in, which is very good.  But if you try to go to where you saved it on your computer and try to write on a double layer dvd, it is write it, but don't allow you to watch on your computer or another computer... not on a dvd player.  The only way to be able to play the DVD double layer on a dvd using Windows player is to burn the Windows DVD authoring application DVD (not the location to save to your hard drive).  It takes forever to burn, of course... but so well worth it in the end when he actually plays.

Yay for me!

  • DVD - Rom SD-M1712 is able to burn discs double layer?

Hi, I have a pc compaq, with toshiba dvd players. DVD - rom SD-M1712. I have windows xp. I was doing a holiday film that is too big to go on a 4.7 GB dvd + r disc (which I have done before) so I thought that I had nothing better to do that to buy a larger drive so I bought a pack of 10 dvd + r dl discs. The drive does not recognize them and I don't know if it's because they are double-layer.

I don't know what that means in terms of anyway, but don't understand why it won't work.

    Can anyone help. Karen

I agree with the first answer user. You must use the compatible player if you want to burn and read discs double layer (DL)

  • Can my laptop burn double layer DVD + R discs?

Hey, I have a laptop of HP G60-213EM

And I know that I can burn a DVD + R etc but can I burn double layer DVD + R discs? On my PC, I usually use Verbatim discs double layer. And really want a quick answer if anyone knows if my laptop will burn Verbatim dual layer DVD + discs R. thanks

Easy trolling for the congratulations but not so easy to give the right info. Yes, you have the DVD Multi burner double layer, so you can burn discs double layer. You must also good burning software. Two layers are difficult to do and you get a lot of roller coaster. The jump from Layer 1 to layer 2 to the burning often causes a problem. The best way to do it is to make a .iso to first and then burn.

  • Problem during construction on a double layer dvd

Hello! I made a dvd of my vacation with yet, but it was so big (6.62Go) I bought a double layer dvd to build. I have a video set as first game and 3 menus that are auto-activées when we choose a different button (as in the tutorial but linda.com I put a video on the background instead of an image).

When I start to build, the writing is good but to roughly a little more than one-quarter, still ejects the disc. I tried to read the dvd on my computer and a dvd, but he could not read. Please help me as soon as possible. I worked on this project for several days and I am very proud of the result. I want to really over!

I use the most recent updated even on a 64-bit windows computer 7.

I did everything and it did not work

I'll take that as a 'no' to my question.  So I would simplify to see if you can sort out what works and what is not. Rather than mess with what you have, I create a new project, add a menu, use no autoactivate and no introductory video and import one of your videos as a timeline and just a link.

    Does it work?

I would try each of the main items that John described too.

  • Brander DVW/RW can read and write DVD double layer dvd

    Hello

I would like to know if brander DVD/RW can also read and write the DVD DL(dual layer) dvd.

or I have to buy for that special brander!

    Johan

What is a "brander DVD/RW?   Support double layer DVD depends on the material.   Try to identify the make and model of the car since the Device Manager and find its specifications.

  • Double layer DVD burning does not

The double-layer DVD burning does not work on my XPS420 w/vista.  The drive reads everything good and burns only 4.7 GB very well.  When you try to burn to a disc double layer blank he Burns half of the project (probably a layer), and then gives me an error message.  This happened with two different software.  Once with Roxio 10.1 included with the system and once with DVD Shrink.  I use an ISO image file appropriate.  My Player recognizes a disc blank double layer with 8 GB of free space.  During the burning process is when all else fails.  I downloaded the update of the firmware as well.  My thought is that it may be a media problem.  I virgins, disc double layer 8.5 GB DVD + R DL.  It's a brand off I've not heard of, but that was all that was available at the store.  It is a toshiba player, not sure of the model number.  16xRW +-.  Note: the front of the drive said no DL.  If all goes well they installed the correct drive.

    any thoughts?

    Thank you.

  • Create recovery media requests double layer DVD

    Good evening everyone.

I just took delivery of my 5 new books for new employees of my company.

3 of these notebooks are HP Probook 450 G2 (REF: J4R69EA)

(These are the models with 128 GB SSD drives)

The other two are Lenovo E540 with similar specs.

So let's start, create recovery media. To ensure that is done before I give them to end users in question.

While trying to create the windows disk, the program "HP Recovery Disc Creator" requires the double layer DVD: "Please insert a DVD double layer to move forward."

The DVD in question that I use are discs of "Sony DVD + R 120 min / 4.7 GB" that in the past have always worked. (and now work for Lenovo laptops)

Searching this forum told me to:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Unfortunately, this is not the same interface I. I choose only a drive to create a backup to

(in this case, it is drive F:\ internal drive)

I also tried an external DVD burner with the same results.

I have not tried a USB, but this isn't what I want, and since you can create a backup set.

Link to a screenshot: (you must copy paste in your browser apparently)

    http://loxsvc.netau.NET/HP/HP%20Discss.PNG

It would be not that big of a problem if there was a real windows 7 key printed on the laptop.

If I had a key, I would just reinstall the machine immediately with an image clean windows 7 so I don't have to clean up all of the HP software.

but unfortunately this is not the case. So I need a Windows 7 recovery disk must be created.

Any suggestions apart from the purchase of DVD DL?

    Thank you for your time

    Hey @SCamm,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do it at Business Forum.

Record double layer DVD-R and DVD + R discs can store much more data. DVD + R DL, also called DVD + R9 are what is needed to create the media recovery on this laptop.  Sorry to say.

    Thank you.

  • double layer dvd win 7 x 64 does not burn

I can't burn a double layer DVD (Memorex) in Win 7 x 64. Used to be able to but not now. Search many forums, no help. DVD burners have inclluded HL, HP 1260 t and Asus BW-12B1ST. All software and drivers up-to-date, I think. Even tried different DVD, no luck. Single layer all mfg all right, just not burn DL. Frustrated.

If you can, lower the burning speed.  Double layer DVD are much more sensitive and downright temperamental than 4.7 standard.  And as you know, they are 5 or 6 times more expensive, too!

    Good luck.

  • Is - this Dell Inspiron 530 standard come with double-layer DVD ROM?

I was wondering if the Dell Inspiron 530, I bought a couple of months back has a double layer, DVD ROM drive? I don't know how to find out - I was not put to level or something when you purchase so it is the standard that came with it.

    Thanks in advance

  • Single-layer or double-layer DVD?

    Hello

I have a DVD for a customer who now wants to make a small number of copies with the help of a third-party software.

They asked me if he should order single-layer or double-layer DVD? I think the answer is single-layer, but I assure you.

When I did the DVD, I set the size to 4.7 GB, although I used only 3.21 GB.

This means that I should tell them to layer single order, right?

    Thank you

    Carolyn

    Right.

    Hello

AFAIK this unit has a DVD Super Multi drive and it must use media suite:
    CD-ROM (Read) CD - R(read/write) CD - RW(read/write) DVD-ROM (read)
    DVD-R(Read/Write) DVD - RW(read/write) DVD + DVD + R(read/write) RW(read/write) DVD - RAM(read/write)

In addition, these speeds are available:
    Maximum speed CD-ROM(24x:read) CD-R(24x:write) CD-RW(10x:write) DVD-ROM(8x:read)
    DVD-R(8x:Write) DVD - RW(4x:write) DVD + DVD + R(8x:write) RW(4x:write) DVD - RAM(3x:write)

    Hello

    1. the problem occurs only with this game disc?

    2. don't you get AutoPlay windows when inserting the disc?

Method 1: You can browse the contents of the game disc and locate the Setup file which is the setup.exe file.

Game disc should contain the file setup.exe and install the game.

Method 2: If you are not to ask the AutoPlay option when the disc is inserted and then follow the steps in the article and check:

    Troubleshoot AutoPlay

  • Windows does not recognize a blank disc in the DVD player.

When you try to burn a CD and have a blank CD - R into the DVD player, I get 'Windows cannot read the disk in drive D ". I tried other discs and DVD, but it seems that Windows does not recognize a blank disc. I have another DVD drive and the same is true here as well.  I tried to update the drivers and deactivation and reactivation of readers but nothing is done. However, CDs or DVDs with the content are recognized.

I had the same problem on Windows 7 32-bit (suspect this fix as well under Vista). After trying everything under the Sun entered Services (search for programs and files, type 'Services') and looked "Shell Hardware Detection. Found that it was disabled (not sure how he got that way). Right-click on it to get the properties. Change startup type to "Automatic", press apply then OK. Problem solved without even having to restart!
