Problem with black in .pdfs exported

Hi all.  I am very new to work with InDesign, so please forgive me if I do not know all of the appropriate terminology.  I had a 42 page .indd file I exported.  The reason for the export was so that I could then, open the pages of pdf in photoshop and individually rename/re-record pages.  The text in InDesign is 100K black.  When I opened the PDF in photoshop, black now has a mixed CMYK value.  It is causing all sorts of stress at the printer.  Is there something I need to do in .pdf export that will preserve the value of black than 100K?

Opening a PDF file in Photoshop will rasterize the entire Page of the PDF file, including; text and vector graphics in a native resolution of pixels.

The color levels change as it is converted to pixels that there is no way to keep the original color values.

The only time that you can open a PDF file in photoshop is when the PDF file was created with Photoshop and had edit it with photoshop ability checked when recording.

Problems with word and PDF after crash

My computer crashed and I had to run the recovery disk, the repair option, so he could run again. It does not format my computer but I had to re - install several programs. I reinstalled my copy of office for example.  I have an external hard drive where I put most of my files but since installing the recovery disc, it does not open some Word documents and gives a message error "user has not access privilege." It's the same thing with some pdf files. What can I do?  Please help because I can't open some of my documents from the University.

    Hello world
I would like to just say thank you for your help and the problem is now solved.  In the end I paid someone to sort it out.  He explained that it was something like permissions for some of my files were owned by my old operating system and after that my computer crashed and I had to put through the recovery disc these permissions have been lost.  He told me that he had a program that looked for the old existing and re-installed.
    Thank you.

  • Problems with the Acrobat PDF acceptance of the EULA in Safari Viewer

We are currently having problems with our Acrobat PDF Viewer in Safari. When users open a pdf file in Safari, he is invited to the first open Acrobat Pro and accept the EULA. We tried a variety of different things, but we have been unable to remove it.

    Here's what we tried:

Adding a FeatureLockdown to the com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist and the com.adobe.acrobat.pro.plist blocking EULA, EULAAcceptedForBrowser and bLaunched to true.

Repackaging Adobe Reader with the EULA accepted again.

Remove the Adobe PDF plugins (it had marginal success, but it defines an extract to the default pdf viewer outside of Safari as well.) It takes Acrobat to stay by default.)

I can provide the plist files edited if they are needed.

I managed to solve the problem by applying the following preferences for all user accounts (our deployment toolkit can do for new users and profiles set cache):

    / Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/11.0/

    Exchange-ProMessages

    SharedDataEvents

    UserCache.bin

    / Users/username/Library/Preferences /.

    com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist

    com.apple.LaunchServices.plist

    / Users/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe /.

    .30142FB7F3A2

    / Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache/QUNDRVNTX0NIRUNL.slc

    / Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore/.230E4A0DF1DC

These profile settings user as well as the file plist in the folder/Library/Preferences/Adobe/have solved our problem.

  • Problem with color, too saturated exported images management

    Hello

I have an image in Photoshop (CS5, Windows 7) that I wanted to export to PDF and print it, but then I noticed the colours varied considerably making the result unusable.

The image is composed in AdobeRGB and I work on a wide range of screen (Dell U2711) I calibrated and profiled with a Spyder4.

In Photoshop, the image contains a beautiful dull light brown but when I open the PSD in Illustator or InDesign or when I export it as a PDF and view it in Acrobat, it is much too red in it. I enclose below an example of how the colors look like in Photoshop (left) and the rest of the system (right):

    wrong-colors.jpg

(Note: this is a JPEG AdobeRGB, so the consultation on a normal range screen might not show as much difference that it is actually)

This color shift is very extreme, and I don't know what the cause of the problems. I tried different profiles for my monitor (the only one I created with the Spyder, the profile of the Dell factory, the standard profile from AdobeRGB, no profile at all etc..). While the color has obviously changed a bit the problem as a whole has not changed: Photoshop shows the beautiful yellow brown, other applications show a very reddish image. The difference is even noticeable quite highly on my second monitor which is just a normal range of the screen with a range of about 73% of the sRGB colors.

I also tried to export to a flat JPEG with no embedded profile that makes the result a little better, but the colors are still not accurate at all. It's very confusing because I don't know what the problem is and I don't know if it's just Photoshop the wrong colors or if other applications just to bad color management.

It would be great if you could help me out here.

    Thank you.

P.S. this problem could be linked to this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4178572#4178572 Although I couldn't find a working solution there.

P.P.S. opening the image/PDF exported in Photoshop, product colors you want, once again, is not a weird conversion causing issues.

If it is not the right profile, there would be at least two independent yet more fake profiles that I spend in assinging profiles of good and evil. I doubt it. I'm sure that Windows and Photoshop use the right profiles. Both monitors independently change when assinging different profiles and colors in Photoshop always will change accordingly.

Applications that do not seem to choose the right profile are Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat. When I do the primary external monitor they display the colors correctly. But as soon as I do the laptop monitor the main display colors aren't yet.

So I guess that Windows and Photoshop are doing everything right, but Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat use only the profile of the main screen. So on the range wide screen it is obviously all saturated (especially in red). However, when I put my main screen what they use it for both profile that specifies the range widescreen on the big screen and also quite accurate colours on the internal monitor because it's the color range is much smaller.

I declare this a bug in these applications.

  • HP6520 - problem with black ink - no black ink on paper

I have a 6520 All in One – this week the printer decided to stop printing in black ink - cartridges were installed a few weeks ago and level is higher than 50%

What procedure I tried, the printer does not print with black more - also not a bit - paper stays white where black ink should be!

Of course the printer is out of warranty (02-2012), but as I see it, this problem happens a lot on this type of printer - so there is certainly something wrong

Please HP, it may be that I have to replace my printer after 2 years because he is not black print more or I have to pay more money to fix when I have to pay for a new printer.

    Awaiting your response

  • LaserJet Pro M426fdw: Problems with printing of pdf documents

Whenever I try to print PDFs in duplex (although occasionally same problem print one page) the first page does not print and on the pages that follow, most of the lines are blackened the right edge in towards the middle of the page.  I didn't notice the problem with documents in other formats, but I always have problems with pdf files, and I have no problem, print the pdf to my other printers.

Do other normal Duplexes of programs (word, etc.)?

If so, it sounds Adobe specific, otherwise I would reinstall the printer driver.

  • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.

When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

    I tried the things:

Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."

System Restore = no available restore points

Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor

Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile

Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile

Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list

Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile

Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.

You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
D ' log in under a different account.
-To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.

On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Problem with black ink

Hello there, I have a HP C6380 printer. I ran out of black ink small 564. I have a larger 564 black ink there how can I get the printer to use the largest cartiage of ink instead of replace ink 564 more small.

    Thank you

    Scott

@yellowlabscott, Yes, you can use the cartridge of 564 more GRAND. It should be inserted directly into the slot and read it.

Are you have problems with the larger cartridge is not suitable?

New XL cartridges are made more small these days, but they are still considered as the largest and more ink. So it still needs work.

@alexisgb, you may need to clean the black cartridge. Try to clean the print head and check the results.

You also have the Photosmart C6380?

  • Problem with the virtual copy exports - JPEG vs DNG

Hi all - just a quick question - I have a set of photos developed in LIghtroom that include several virtual copies of which I now want to export to in the form of final versions on my hard drive. All virtual copies are B & w versions of the masters (post-processing work also differs slightly on the top of the b & w preset).

I need a patch of JPEG and DNG files.
Export to JPEG files seems to work without a hitch and all the pictures come out like in Lightroom.
Exporting DNG however come with a question - all virtual copies come out as images themselves IE. not virtual copies, but they are more b & w as they are supposed to be, but go out like color.

Color version masters come out well. Exports of virtual copy have different look (as expected) and the file size slightly different (also planned?) suggesting this only thing missing for me is the parameter b & w.

I have tried everything to fix this problem with no use - export the virtual copies separately etc. As already said - JPEG works, but DNG does not...

Someone at - he experienced this and if so any suggestions on how to fix...?

    Thks a lot!

    V

DNG files are 'RAW' files - they cannot be changed.

You can export only B & W versions as (pixel database files) as JPG or TIFF

You can export copies of a DNG, but they are still RAW.

You can embed data in a DNG file (containing similar to XML with the NAVE sidecar files and raw CR2 files), but editing will be visible in software that can interpret the raw data (like Lightroom or ACR)

  • Problems with black when cropping

I have some weird problems with LR6, I bought a couple of months.  I took pictures of the Moon in a black sky.  When I try to crop the image to get a larger 'Moon', the black sky turns into brilliant blue pixel.  The only way to get rid of them is to adjust the exposure all that change the way upward, which in turn ruins the pic of the Moon, of course, having an exhibition also, when I try to adjust the blacks, I get blue pixels.  I have a friend who has the monthly fee of 9.99 and don't have this problem at all.  Everyone knows this and what is the solution?

You have the lit black clipping indicator.  To disable it, click on the small arrow in the top left of the histogram Panel.

  • Problems with printing to PDF with Acrobat Pro 9 and FireFox 8

The page that I use for my base is: http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalpublishing/2010/12/google-ebooks.html

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and FireFox 8 is installed.

The problem with FireFox is when I select a part of a web page and try to print the selected text, the first line gets chopped, if the text is small, the first line could even be completely missing.  It is perhaps a matter of margin but don't know how to edit it.FF.png

I know I'm not very clear but if anyone has any ideas or would like more info please let me know.

    Thank you.

I suspect that if you do the same process with a print on paper, you will get the same result. I got the same result with SeaMonkey, but IE8 printed the police complete in PDF format. Which suggests that it is not Acrobat, but the browser. As I said, suggests, so pay attention to your conclusions.

  • How to achieve the intense black in PDF export?

InDesign CS5 on Snow Leopard. I have a black to display and output set accurately (not rich black). Color settings are in North America General Purpose 2. Evidence of configuration is set to Document CMYK U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2, so that I see on the screen as accurately as possible what it will look like when printed.

An image of large, to most black covers my first page; This is an imported PSD. When I view the image in PhotoShop, it displays as "intense Black" - you know, Black 100% on-screen. But looking into InDesign, it appears a dull gray. It also appears a dull gray when you export to PDF or print.

How to go to the PDF format and print in crisp, perfect, 100% black rich?

If possible, I would like it to appear on my screen about as it will be in the PDF export and the printed page.

    Thank you!

The preference for Rick Black, that's how it shows up only on RGB devices, monitor, or printers that support RGB.

For an intense black for a CMYK profile, you will need to build a new black and which apply to selection in InDesign.

The rich blacks are going to 50Cyan 100BlacK

    at 20 c, 20Y, 20 M, 100 K = 160 (20 + 20 + 20 + 100)

    40, 0, 40, 100 is 180

where equals is the limit of the ink to the paper.

Depending on what paper you're printing on, coated or not coated, and weight, you'd have different limits. 280 is generally good.

For example, you might have an intense Black of C90 M90 Y0 K100 = 280

Please contact your printer what ink should be built and what is your limit of ink.

If you have a text hit out of the black then you probably want to keep C 50 and 100 K, because it would be easier to keep the registry text.

  • Problem with the color when exporting to other Adobe programs

    Hello

When I uses 32 bits per layer in my After Effects to get the really nice glow effect and make everything look OK, but when I use the Dynamic Link for Premiere Pro and then try to make my sequence with Media Encoder deferential eye colors inside After Effects.

Is there a problem with 32-bpc and dynamic link, or I do something wrong?

Editing programs do not operate in 32bpc, even if PR calculates the effects in 32 bits. This has to do with the range and models of different colors. Usually 32bpc also requires correct color calibration and conversion via LUTs or profiles from your computer screen is not initially 32bpc. This being the case and to avoid the problems of conflicting settings and hardware acceleration (which is also used for color management), in such situations, it is better to make the file and import it in first. Otherwise, you have work major reading and configuration to do.

  • Problems with jpeg2000 to pdf

    Hello

with output 10.1.4 Adobe Acrobat, scanned and jpeg2000 images embedded by Adobe Acrobat support got obviously a lot worse! While everything was OK with version 10.1.3, Acrobat can view or print a batch of jpeg2000 images 'fault data'. Also export tiff images or other formats don't work more. As mentioned, the same files / images have been opened and displayed and exported correctly in Version 10.1.3. I checked if there are syntax or other errors in the file named (the answer is no). This obviously produced with the files created or processed by Acrobat itself as well as many other software to create PDF files with built-in jpeg2000. I hope this bug will be corrected as soon as possible, because based on my understanding, this is a bug in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader perhaps too. JPEG2000 is used around the world by many users and created many publishers of software based on a standard of ISO certification. Note: the files are pdf/a 2 b! At present the alternative is to leave the pdf and return to images-tif or PDF with ZIP-TIF-files embedded with the needs of storage. Does anyone know this topic already?

    Thanks for your help!

Acrobat engineering wishes to inform users facing this problem that the latest version of the player (available for download on http://get.adobe.com/reader) XI solves this problem. Users are advised to download the latest version as soon as possible to avoid encountering this error in the future. As mentioned, the team is working hard to solve the problem in earlier versions (10.x and 9.x) as well and plans to deliver a solution by Q1 2013.

  • Problem with convert to PDF from Excel without taking into account the layout and graphics/graphics

I work with Excel files with graphics (clipart) and charts from the data on the worksheet. I use Excel 2007 and everything a year ago and a half downloaded the option "convert to PDF" on the Microsoft website. It has been working beautifully. In Excel, I've got a) set print area b) go to "adjust to a page" print preview can convert to PDF format and everything on the PDF page looked like exactly as it did in Excel print preview. It worked flawlessly...

    UNTIL...

.. .the most recent "upgrades" have been installed. Now the menu reads, "Save as PDF or XPS" option and the PDF is a mess. Excel text comes out OK, but any graph or Excel charts will not resize itself, and are completely out of the page. For example, a chart that is supposed to be in the lower right corner must be resized in Excel, placed in the center of the worksheet, on the text and using this approach, resize, save a PDF routine about 50 times, and you can finally wrong PDF resembling the Excel worksheet. Of course, the Excel spreadsheet is totally messed up because you have to move the chart in the spreadsheet and it's a mess, not to mention a waste of time.

I uninstalled the Converter Microsoft PDF and XPS, and then downloaded and installed the PDF Converter (alone). No luck. It's always a mess. My business is at a standstill until I get this sorted. Help, please!

    KFG

    There is a fix for this.  It is described in a strange article entitled ' Description of the fix Excel 2007 package (Excel-x - none.msp, Graph-x - none.msp, Xlview-x - none.msp): August 25, 2009 "located here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973402/

Before installing, my PDF and XPS exporting from Excel had too much size images.  Now exports are correct, just like before the Service Pack.

Unlike article, my patch was dated 13/10/2009, rather than 19/08/2009.
