Profile to grayscale - dark bw photos

After the black and white conversion (in grayscale) in Photoshop, the images appear fine in Photoshop, but in other programs, the pictures are too dark. Under Edition > color in PS settings, the workspace for grayscale images is set to Dot Gain 20%, which I believe is the default setting?

When you print pictures at a commercial lab, copies resulting are also too dark.

Should I use a space of different shades of gray as Gray Gamma 2.2?

CS6 for Mac using.

Jarle

Yes. Gamma 2.2 for use.

The question is again noticed a file in the absence of color management, and as always you must choose a profile which is close to the native behavior of a standard monitor. It is gamma 2.2.

With color management, as in Photoshop, it displays correctly without worrying and in a fully managed color printing process that should also be printed correctly. Your commercial lab is probably one of those waiting for sRGB and print without color management.

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

  • I've just backed up with an external hard drive for the first time, but my profile with my folders for photos, documents, and movies are not there

    Hello

So, I finally got an external hard drive. I formatted for Mac (the device has been verified as being correct), and then he started to do a backup, which stated that a full backup would take 95GB. However, it only supported 19GB.  When I have my 'open' backup drive, I saw that only 'Macintosh HD' received support upward, not my user profile with all my folders containing documents, photos, movies, etc...

I'm quite confused, because I thought that it would save.  I plan on Snow Leopard update to El Capitan, but if something is wrong or I don't like, I'm afraid that I won't be able to restore all my personal files - but only the applications that are on my Macintosh HD.

Should I delete everything in my backup disk and try again?

This is an image of what's inside my external hard drive:

You have not indicated how you have saved, if you've used Time Machine then you do things the hard way and you'll find very difficult TM. Please use the Time Machine interface to locate your saved data. You can benefit from the research on:

  • Profile of Pro - 1 for "Photo paper Premium Matte"

Just got a Pro-1 and a few packets of Canon "Photo Paper Pro Premium, Matt" were included in the agreement. Installed everything, say the instructions with the paper "select"Photo Paper Pro Premium"" Matt for the media Type setting, but I don't have this profile. Here are the profiles I see installed in CC of Photoshop, Photoshop CS 4 and 5 of Lightroom:

I don't think that generic matte photo paper is the right profile.

I thought that maybe I needed to plug Print Studio Pro installed, but that was of no help. And trying to use Print Studio Pro has been no help, he opened but just sitting and cycled in CS4 and Lightroom, never reached a point where I could do something with it. It is never installed in Photoshop CC.

  • Adjust the color and the lightness/darkness for photos on HP Photosmart 6510

When I print pictures, I want to be able to adjust the color, saturation and brightness, because the printer prints often dark and too intense in color.

My last printer have an option for this in the menu, but with the 6510 I can't. Now a lot of my impressions is too dark, too much saturation.

Using the touchscreen ic memory card is not an option, because it is mainly the picture (a lot of...) on my computer that I don't want to transfer to a memory card, first of all.

I just want to be in control of what my printer performs.

    Hopefully, someone can help

    José

I don't think that this feature is more included in the software for this product. It is possible that if you use a rough driver, you might be able to use them, but I'm not some of what I've never needed to use:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-all-in-one-software-drivers-e-g-Windows-8/How-to-assign-alternate-print-drivers-in-different-versions/TD-p/1957011

If this does not work, you will need to edit the photos before printing by another program.

Let me know if it helps, I wish you a nice weekend!

  • How can I add a photo to someone's profile in the people application?

The people app shows pictures of people, but apparently only if there is a photo in facebook.

So is there a way I can change the profile to add my own photo of a person?   For example, I could join photos of family members of photos that I have.

I can't find a way to do it.

    Anyone know?

    Thank you!

So is there a way I can change the profile to add my own photo of a person?

The people app brings together its contacts to your online accounts. So, for now, you must add the photo of a person by opening Internet Explorer, visit the account containing this contact and update their photo online.

To find out which account contains information of that person, open their Contact information for editing. Under their generic image, you will see a word such as Live, Outlook or Gmail.

This is the account that you would need to visit and update with photo of the person. When you update, the people app automatically updates to display the photo of the person.

I hope that the people app will add a way to add pictures. But by then, you need to do online. (You can update photo of a person using some smart phones, too. It is often easier, as most smart phones have cameras.)

  • Profile of lenses not available for old photos

    Hello

I took care to create a profile of lens for my Canon 550 and EFS 15-85 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM because there is no profile listed for this lens when I took a few photos at the beginning of July. Now, I find that the profile is now available (for photos taken in the last week or so) and selected automatically when I have to select "activate profile Corrections", BUT is still not available for the older photos - what can someone tell me how to get the new available for older photos profile - in fact why the list shows not the new profile?

The usual reason is that the profile was created using raw files and therefore available for raw photos or that it was created from JPEG whereby case it is no longer available for JPEG/TIFF pictures

  • Grey scale of images - too dark

CS5.5 or CC - I've known several times this flat graphic gray - corrected and Nice in PhotoShop turns too dark when it is placed in InDesign.

I make sure no effect or colors are applied to the image or photo, but still no effect.

If I force transparency on the real extend it (by placing two white dots on top of the other, the higher multiplied on the master page) then seems correct at the same time.

It makes no difference if it's a jpg flat grayscale or a psd, even just a psd with a white background it turns that way.

    Why is this? -You know?

    BR Nina Storm

ID previews used in two different ways, when there is transparency on the page or MS overview of overprinting is enabled, grayscale preview via the CMYK profile. With no transparency (or a RGB transparency Blend space) they look like sGray (Gamma 2.2), which is useful for the design of the screen.

You can use the CMYK profile of your InDesign document as the profile to grayscale in Photoshop to get more consistent snapshots between ID and PS. check this thread:

  • Profile of Photoshop Black and white for printing

I'm a black and white photographer, this issue is so important for me to solve. I've been looking online and I still have to find the answer, so I hope someone can help.

I need to know how to set up the profiles of black and white in Photoshop for printing. The printer I have is a canon Pixma Pro 9000 mark II

I need real black and white. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion. If you need me to provide more information let me know.

I often print black & white work on an Epson, using advanced black & white in the print driver.

A quick Internet search found that there is something similar for Canon - Canon: PIXMA Manual: Guide to Digital Photo printing: printing black and white

I print files scanned in grayscale and have the profile to grayscale in PS 2.2 Gamma value.

If you print digital photos, they will be RGB, but which will probably make no difference. But you have to read the documentation for the Canon if it will be. IOW - if the image must be in grayscale or RGB levels.

Something very important when printing as this is to set the printer to manage colors (not PS) in the dialog box print of PS.

  • Why does it seem different in two docs ID even grayscale image?

I have a grayscale image that I placed in two documents InDesign CS6. However, this image appears darker in Doc B than in A Doc (Doc has shown the image as it appears in Photoshop). Of course some adjustments in Doc B are darkening of the image, but I am struggling to find something relevant.

Can someone suggest things for me to check?

    David

They are similar in the two files with preview of active overprinting? If this isn't the case, it's probably a case of use of the different workspaces CMYK (profiles in grayscale are not recognized in the ID and the gray, the values are passed unchanged to the K channel in the document workspace). If they do it's probably transparency on the page in a file, and not the other.

If this is transparency, you should expect both files to the same output, and the way that see you in the preview of overprinting.

  • Camera tone curves, exposure and saturation profiles

I use a home made camera profile, since the DNG Profile Editor was released. I much prefer the colors made by using a profile of a ColorChecker card for the provided profiles.

My first profile was based on a photo taken using Adobe Standard, but I didn't like how the lighter tones looked washed out. So I created a curve custom in DNGPE, with a small dip in the upper half of the diagonal. Makes the lighter tones to colours .

A few months later, I created a new curve point by default, with less of a boost in the light. This helped with detail in the sky .

Recently, I realized that I'm adjusting the brightness slider a lot, and I realized that it is because the tone of my profile adjustment decreases the brightness of the mi-teintes. So, instead of setting the default to 60, I created another profile, with a tone adjustment higher in the medium and lower tones in lighter tones. Better default , but I am not satisfied by the lighter tones still .

I think now, exposure down to about 1/3 tab to bring the color back in the faces of the people. I use a Nikon D300, and some people say that it tends to overexpose a little, but I'm shooting raw, and I would have not thought that it was a problem when it's not clipping.

I use a default value of contrast of 25 and the average contrast curve points. When I slide the exposure down, I can see the histogram (ProPhoto) "no - bunching" at the upper end, and it seems to fit with the color back into the cheeks of the people.

Help. I'm confused. Camera raw does something with a saturation at the top of the tone curve?

Hi Yammer P, you cannot add an exhibition shifted on a profile directly, but as you know, you can have a + or - exposure correction built into a default by the camera, or a preset.

On the other hand, pouvez have you a profile-specific tone curve. For example, in the DNG Profile Editor, you can use the second pane to change tone of a profile curve. So if the default highlights are a little light to your liking, you can change the profile curve to bring them down a bit. Then save the new profile.

I understand what you're saying want to add a lighter areas overrun without the darker image overall. We do not have a control that does this directly, while others like the Saturation can help (as you discovered) if used moderately.

  • Profile pictures can be deleted hosts/Microsoft/Skype servers?

Why users cannot delete their profile picture? An image can be added or changed, but that's all. My question is... what happens to the original image, after that it has been replaced by a new image? Skype reserves the right to the image I download and save on their servers? I bet a long reading of their terms of use would provide me with an answer.

But for now, let's say that I take a picture of myself for my profile, then I decide I don't want the image available for anyone to see. By "anyone", I mean the Skype contacts and public Skype users, as long as Skype employees, would-be hackers or authorized agents of the Government. Keep in mind this image was designated initially as visible to 'contacts' and not made 'public', so I didn't put the image into the public domain where I don't have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Skype should reserve its users the option to remove this image from their account and their servers.

Or, if the addition of a new profile instead of the old photo effectively erases the old photo, then please ignore my entire argument here.

However, my hunch is that the old photo is chosen since no where does Skype talks to remove profile photos in their FAQ on photos of profile and privacy. Since Skype does not pronounce on this subject, I must assume that they retain the original image indeed.

My main concern here, it's not an agent pirate or the Government can get their hands on my profile picture, as I am not a criminal or wanted terrorist lunatic on the run from the Government, rather, it's more a question of morality. Too many software companies are obnoxiously lies when it comes to their software, capabilities, and what this company doing with personal and private information. Skype and Microsoft are not different.

All we have is your Word. I hope it's true.

Specifically, why not just include a feature of 'delete profile image '. This seems to make a lot more sense to me and others out there who have a problem with the absence of such a feature. Looks like it should be a simple enough feature to understand.

  • Profile of Vision Builder AI 2011 online

    Hello

I try to get the line profile to grayscale (0-255) for a circle of light.

But I could not find a fuction can do on VBAI, closeset function I can get is to "Measure the intensity" measure the intensity of a region that is useless to me.

And then I found there is another function called vision assistant, I can click on the "edit button" to open a new window where there are additional features.

I found there is a function called 'profile of the line '.

But I had to draw the lines "manunally" one by one, and I need to get at least 36 line profiles from the Center to the edge of each every 10 degrees.

And even if I already received from the centre of VBAI, I don't think that the central position had been sent to vision assistant.

I really think it's a stupid way to obtain the profile of the line.

Does need another way I can get all the line using VBAI profileI "automatically" (at least not to draw the line one by one by myself)?

or should I use LabView to get what I want?

    Thank you

It is the image that I'm working on.

You are right that there is not a good way to get 36 line profiles using built in steps. I would recommend using step execute a VI LabVIEW (located on the last tab), where you place the center point of the VI and the VI creates the 36 Kings and executes the line profiles associated with these Kings. VBAI 2012, step run LV can take in the tables and tables of output, and so if you need to do something with these tables of line profile apart from the LabVIEW, VBAI 2012 step will make this much easier, otherwise you need to do your operations within the VI table.

    Hope this helps,

    Brad

  • Canon MB2320 won't print color photos

We have recently installed a printer Canon MB2320.  We use it for our printing needs, including the creation of brochures.  In general, the pamphlets are created in Powerpoint and will include the text color and image .jpg and .bmp files.  In printing, the color of text and elements (blocks or drawings) prints fine, but images may not print.  I tried simply print a picture file, a Powerpoint page with a .jpg and .bmp side by side on the page (to see if the file type makes a difference) and also a Word document with a .jpg file inserted.  In all cases, the printer behaves normally (spit an impression without errors) but all the image data seems to be ignored.  I can, however, print these same files in grayscale and printing photos, but obviously not in color.  All the "print previews" indicates color or grayscale according to what I have chosen.  I sent the same files to three different computers (all networked).

As far as I know, I went on every setting that I can think of and everything seems in order.  The color ink levels are lower than black but will not give me any warnings yet.  Any help on this is greatly appreciated

    Thank you
