QLogic NIC firmware and drivers on 11G servers

Hi all

Can someone explain why the new QLogic NIC firmware (formerly Broadcom) and the pilot are not shown on the pages of download for 11 G- servers?

We have a bunch of R710 servers (Windows Server 2012 R2) with NIC BCM5709C NetXtreme II which, according to the release notes are compatible with these new updates.

If you go to the download page for R710, these files are not, (only older files of Broadcom).

Instead, I run the last SUU (15.04.200.109) on a R710, the pilot and the new fw QLogic are listed as extensible.

A strange thing here is that the version of fw-package in the SUU is 7.12.15.
(I can't remember having seen the version of the Driver and download pages).

"QLogic BCM57xx and BCM57xxx Network Device Firmware 7.12" version which is downloadable for example R720 is 7.12.17.

Verifying compliance on R710 to OME with the latest version of the catalog, no new QLogic driver or firmware appears.

I have applied these new QLogic on a R710 updates in our lab and installed both without problem and seem to work well.

I am bit confused now and would like to know if Dell supports the driver and QLogic fw on R710 with NIC BCM5709C NetXtreme II

Larnil,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. According to me, that it was simply an oversight due to the change of name, following the acquisition of Broadcom by Qlogic. We will look on getting the page corrected to reflect the most recent update.

Thank you once again.

  • Update of firmware and drivers controller PowerEdge 2900

    Hello

I have server PowerEdge 2900. Current configuration I see on OMSA:

    BIOS version 2.3.1 (former)

    Controller PERC 6 / i integrated.
Version of the firmware is up to date.
    Firmware Version 6.0.2 - 0002
    Minimum Firmware Version 6.3.0 - 0001
    4.05.01.64 driver version
    6.1.7601.17577 Storport driver version

I need to upgrade the firmware of the controller and make the Windows updates on this server. My questions:

What is the correct order for the upgrade:

    1. Windows updates
    2. BIOS,
    3. ESM firware,
    4. Bottom of basket SAS firmware,
    5. Disk controller
    6. Firmware of the controller,
    My questions would be:
How can I verify ESM and bottom of basket SAS version of the firmware on my server, maybe I do not need to update those?
On the Dell support site, I could find only:
    Dell Server BIOS, 2.7.0Dell SAS Backplane Firmware, v.1.05, A01Dell BMC Firmware, v.2.50, A00Dell PERC 6/i Integrated, v.6.3.1-0003, A14

and how to find software to update the drivers:
    4.05.01.64 driver version
    6.1.7601.17577 Storport driver version
    ?
The Dell supports any automatic tool to collect and install the drivers and firmware required on a single server of Windows (except ITA)?
    Server is very critical, thanks,

Yes, it's safe.  It can be run from within the OS, or you can start on SBUU and serve Suu repository for update packages.

In most cases, it is easier to update of Windows, but it is not necessary.

    1. Windows updates
    2. BIOS,
    3. Environmentally sound management software (Yes, must be updated to BIOS).
    4. Bottom of basket SAS firmware (also needed),
    5. Controller driver (did you mean driver here? pilot, when it is available, it should be updated before... If current firmware to run 2008R2, new drivers are available through Microsoft Update - if available)
    6. The controller firmware
    7. The hard drive firmware
    8. NIC, DRAC, etc..

When / if get the support.dell.com site update files, use Packages to update for the format of Microsoft Windows.

    Hello

I don't know where you looked drivers but if you have a model of cell phone US please check http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

It's very good support page and I hope that here you can find everything you need. If the drivers of Windows XP Home Edition are still not listed, as European for A210 page, it means that support for Windows XP Home edition is not yet started.

On this forum, you will find a large number of discussions on the drivers of Windows XP Home on Satellite A210. Please check. Maybe you will find some useful information.

  • ElitePad 1000 G2: 10 Pro Version 1511, threshold 2 update Windows crashes on 'features and drivers '.

Summer running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit for months without problem on my G2 ElitePad 1000; application Windows 10 updates throughout - so far. Yesterday, 12/11/2015, 1511 (threshold 2) updated version of Microsoft automatically downloaded and rebooted to start installation of operating system upgrade. The upgrade completed the first phase "Copying files" and began the second phase "Patterns and drivers", then stopped (paused) to 40% total progress/23% features and drivers progress with no other response. Only one stop 'hard' (hold down the power button / stop for at least 10 seconds) worked. On 'power up' the result was a "restore previous version" immediately, and subsequent reboot restored my previous login - as expected.

HP have a new image or update for Windows Pro 64 - bit version 1511/threshold 10 2? The update is put on hold due to a driver issue? Any advice would be appreciated.

Finally, a solution for me! I used Microsoft's latest "MediaCreationTool" (as of 11/13/2015) to download and create a "USB stick" (08/01/2016) upgrade support. Stick created USB contained more than 3 GB of content upgrade. Started my ElitePad in my 10 original Windows operating system upgrade, and then insert the USB in my ElitePad. Launched "Setup.exe" on the USB key to start the process to level, and left the USB connected until the upgrade is completed; several reboots of the upgrade. Once launched from Setup.exe, a menu background blue proceeded and displays "Check updates" for more than 15 minutes (check the updated drivers, etc.), and then proceeded to the display of the upgrade process (progress circle GUI). The upgrade has completed in 90 minutes without a hitch. So far, all programs and functions are intact. I guess that is focused on the HP drivers updated (finally) in the current construction of 1511, and/or the last created USB stick media works where Microsoft Update (via Microsoft Update servers) has a problem. For me, this solves my problem to upgrade v1511. I hope this helps others.

  • Broadcom/qlogic npar distributed and strategy MPIO on Windows 2012R2

    Hello

I enabled Distributed on partition 0 in our FC630, card broadcom/qlogic 10GbE. After all configured on MS iscsi initator then I saw all the paths were active for some time (10-20 min), then one of the paths is all just disappeared and never reconnected.

I see the message "disconnection request has been received from the initiator" on the EQL newspaper but is not very useful. Curiously, it was precisely the LUN; I saw no problem for vss-control. So I was check the option and I noticed that if I change the "least queue depth" MPIO "failover only" then I see no loss path.

As I'm not sure why the default "least queue depth" option does not work, I would be grateful for any insight and details.

    Thank you

    Hello

If you open a support case, they probably have you say that it works as expected.  Since EQL FW 6.x our MPIO code negotiates connections as needed.  To ensure effective performance and minimize the number of connections.

The event message you included confirms that.  The "requested disconnect" comes the HIT MPIO code.  The 6210 has vertical tipping so with little traffic that one connection is necessary. A failure of the cable or switch will not lower your volume.   If the load rises another connection will be established.

The settings in the registry that Michael mentioned substitute is no longer trading code in the firmware and the HIT.

Is there a feature request for the connection of two minimum for better offer peace of mind to our customers during this behavior.

Since you are dealing with a single member, the greater benefit of our code MPIO is not be used.   This requires several members in a pool.   With a single member, you won't see any difference w/LQD on Round Robin.

I guess that's an installation on the local disk?

    Hello everyone

I upgraded 2 HP Gen 8 Server on Monday of SPP "2014090.2014_0827.10" firmware and HP ESXi drivers 5.1 U2 September 2014.

    firmware 10.2.340.19

    Driver 10.2.293.0

After two hours lost both connections to the server. In Configuration/network adapters all missing devices and after awhile they returned to display.

Network cards have been disabled in the Configuration/network.

After reboot, all the network were OK but the problem again.

The only solution I found was a rear roller for the firmware and driver net b2net.

Does anyone have the same problem?

    Thanks and greetings

Yes, I saw two other reports of similar problems.  I happen to run ESXi 5.0 U3, but I was careful to use the latest HP recipe/package of Sept/Oct because of this problem. Check out the blog on this subject at the following site - ICT - Freak.nl

  • VRTX - NIC firmware update

I might be missing something obvious, but I can't understand how to upgrade the firmware of the network adapters attached to the chassis on a VRTX.

Mapping a map NETWORK to blade and trying to update its firmware to the blade iDRAC do not work (it does put a job in the queue, restart the server and go as far as the update screen, but then fail).

And there is no tab "update" on the CMC interface for PCIe components (it is one of the components of the storage, so I expected to type something similar...).

    Any idea?

NICS are Intel I350-T4. Current firmware is 15.0.27. The target firmware is 16.0.24. Everything else on the blades and chassis VRTX is the most recent version, AFAIK. It is a license of CMC Express.

It turns out that I have has been missed something obvious and this is the important information section on the support page of the firmware (lack a bit of professionalism, it is true...). That clearly states that you cannot go directly from 15.0.27 to 16.0.24 during the upgrade by the controller of the life cycle of the blade (via interface iDRAC, iDRAC settings/update and Rollback). What you have to do is to 15.0.27 --> 15.5.0--> 16.0.24. And indeed, it works. If this has nothing to do with the VRTX and with this specific NIC firmware.

Thanks in any case Chris to try to help, it is always appreciated.

I don't want to uninstall after instalation... This isn't the same thing...

    Hello

Why disappointed? It is not uncommon that recovery image on laptops (not simply on Toshiba one) contains different applications and software. No one forced to use anything, and you can remove it. I put t know why you think that this is not the same thing but in any case, you can use Microsoft Windows XP edition family CD and install the OS. After that, each driver must be installed separately.

Everything you need you can find on the download page of Toshiba.
