Qosmio G30-162 in hibernation mode / permanent suspension

I managed to put my laptop in suspend (via Ubuntu). When I turn on the laptop via the power button I have now just get a black screen.

I know that linux is not officially supported, but how can I reset the laptop? I tried running down the battery, but I guess that's the point of the function. Please let me know if there is way.

Thank you!

Hi mate

Please, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Leave the laptop for about 2 hours, and then reconnect the two parts.
Then try to power the unit and check if you would be able to access the BIOS by pressing ESC and F1.

    Hello

Do you have what Windows OS installed?
If you have installed Win XP then the common Module must be installed before trying to update the BIOS.
If Vista is installed, the VAP (value added package) must be running.

  • Qosmio G30-162 - how to handle the dead battery?

I use my Qosmio G30 plugged into the mains. The battery is exhausted, and so I lost the use of the computer. What I need to replace the battery, or is there any method of conversion of the PC for network use only? All advice appreciated... Senior user.

    Hello

No, in this case, you can repair the battery t and you need a spare battery because the battery is not repairable.

    > or is there any method of conversion of the PC for network use only?
Hmm I put t know what you mean, but you don't need a battery. Alternatively, you can use the laptop with AC/DC adapter only. That s no problem. :)

Yes, unfortunately it is true. The graphics chip is fixed on the map and it of not easy to remove on the simply average. For the most part these chips are soldered on the map!
Looks like you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a replacement of the mobo.
If your warranty is valid all replacements must be made free of charge!

  • Qosmio G30 gel mode failure & installation

    Hello
My Qosmio G30 (Vista Ultimate installed) freezes during startup. In safe mode, it hangs on crcdisk.sys. I tried recovery from Vista DVD but still it crashes just after loading files when it shows the progress bar for the Microsoft Corporation bellows. Similar scenario occurs when I try original recovery DVD (Windows MCE).
It is interesting that little noise (I guess that fan) begins a few seconds after freezing (in all scenarios). I tried a few hours waiting, but nothing happens. BIOS diagnostics to show that everything is OK.
I would appreciate any suggestion so that I don't have to take the laptop to the service.

  • Qosmio F60-136: Impossible to disable the USB sleep-and-Charge in hibernation mode

USB sleep-and-Charge function is marked as disabled in BIOS (v2.70).
This can be checked with Sleep Utility (v1.4.1.5) where the function also seems to be disabled.
During the stop of my laptop, smart phone or the stop MP3 player to charge.
    Everything is OK down there.

However, when putting my laptop in * hibernation mode *, my Smartphone and my MP3 player continues to be charged!
It's a real problem, because, even if no device is plugged into the USB port, in hibernation, the battery loses capacity quickly (much more when the laptop is turned off completely)

    * Obviously a bug in this feature. Please provide a fix as soon as possible! *

  • Qosmio G30-155: video Capture does not work using s-video in port

Toshiba Qosmio G30-155 video capture does not work via the ports of the video (Windows Vista Ultimate x 86) victory of version 3.90 BIOS
Video capture does not work in Windows Media Center, even if selected as ports of entry port composite or s-video in Windows Media Center settings.

In the BIOS version 3.90 parameters via esc - F1 can only select this option: NTSC (USA), NTSC (Japan), PAL (S-video).

It is worth noting that the laptop is supposed to be capture NTSC for composite input mode

Someone turned to make this model of video capture for laptop, via composite video input with the new version of the BIOS (version 3.90 win)?

Can you please explain what you want to do exactly?

Many years ago I had this old Qosmio with TV tuner and antenna in port so I used it to transfer my old VHS format videos and burn movie DVDs.

To this end, I didn't use Windows Media Center. Why you n t use other recording applications. I think that everyone is better than Windows Media Center.

  • Qosmio G30-204 starts with BSOD

    Hello

I have a toshiba Qosmio G30-204. It crashed last Friday night, I tried everything since then, including the system recovery disk, nothing seems too much work between the blue screen and a matrix effect in the back round (broken lines going down the screen) so that I erased two hard drives. Nothing seems to work, also tried safe mode and boot into normal windows.

In the course of the process, I came across a message, if an additional disk came with it! to put it in now. A single disc that I can remember. Any help would be much appreciated, because I now get only a blue screen with the stop 0xoooooo7E (followed by other numbers)

    Thank you once again, Marty

    I got the message?
You aren't able to recovery of the laptop using the recovery disk?

    Hmm looks like hardware problem
The described broken lines going down the screen resembles a graphics card problem
What happens if you turn on the device and go to the BIOS?

  • Qosmio G30 - software very slow loading

I have a Qosmio G30 P650 unit and had since 2009. Two weeks only noticed during the bars running under the windows xp loading Win Xp logo slows down and it takes a long time to load windows. He had no other choice but to re - install the software using the recovery CD.

However, I found that in a first time, the device works well after the resumption, but after turning off and leave for a while and turn it on again a few hours later it's the same thing. The software is loading very slowly. But in safe mode, it's fast.

What is a hard drive problem? There was a time after that reloading the recovery software (even clear partitions), the software will load more slowly. Sometimes after recovery, it is normal but after reboot, the problem repeats.

Can someone tell me what could be wrong with this laptop?

    Thank you very much

    > Is this a hard drive problem?
    Perhaps.

Must test the HARD drive for errors possible there are many diagnostic tools that could test the HARD drive.
For example: HDD Regenerator 2011, SMARTReporter 3.0.4 or the freeware software called Drive Fitness Test.

  • Qosmio G30 - RAID may not reflect new 500 GB HARD drive

I have installed 2 new identical 500 GB hard in my Qosmio G30 with Windows XP.

The system works well, but the disc cannot be mirrored. Report of the Raid Controller is 'Normal Operation status.

This disk cannot be used for mirroring because it is outside the management of the RAID."

Who can tell me whether it is a disc error or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

    > Can anyone tell me if it of a disc error, or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

Hmm. I m not very good, but it could be possible that the 500 GB HARD drive is too big for the mirroring of the mode.

But have you tried to change the mode in comforter Toshiba RAID you might find in Toshiba Assist-> Protect Fix & -> RAID Console

Check if you can switch to the mirroring.

By the way; RAID-1 is defined in the BIOS?
Usually, when you use RAID-1 configuration, the RAID is set to mirroring. In this case, the operating system recognizes the reduced ability to both hard drives (in your case, it is not important since you are using the two 500 GB HDD).

    Check it!

  • Qosmio G30 - recovery disk to unzip files, but nothing happens

I have a Qosmio G30 running Windows XP MCE. Windows has somehow was corrupt and laptop could only be started in safe mode. I backed up all my data but when I run the restore disc, it gets to 100%, but then nothing else happens. It says to eject the disc, but then just restarts automatically and that's all. I can't even open in safe mode now because it indicates that the installation is incomplete and I must rerun the recovery. I tried this but nothing helped.

I'm stuck because now I can not open in safe mode.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tested what happens with Microsoft XP disc?
In addition, I would try to format the HARD drive first. Therefore, you can use a Microsoft disc to wipe the entire HARD disk. After that try the recovery disk again.
