Question MCU

Hi guys, I need your help, I made a big mistake, I reset of MCU and after the reboot of the MCU, I lost the product key or feature

I need to know how can I get a new

I don't have a contract with Cisco

I bought the MCU on Ebay!

I've corrected the link in my previous answer, for some reason when it copied, left part of the URL.

I have not a way to take a screenshot at the moment, but when you go to this site, look for the option "Obtain other licenses" and in this drop-down list, you must select "License TelePresence to return", then enter the serial number of your MCU.

  • CUCM (Cisco Jabber) - VCS - MCU (failed appeal of SIP - SIP)

    Hi all

in our Videoinfrastructure, there is a little problem with cisco jabber client registry on the CUCM to our MCU.

The MCU is inscribed on the VCS.

If I make a call my Client of Jabber Cisco SIP call has failed. I call the number 4925488XXX. The callingparty is the 25203232.

In the CUCM, there is a Routepattern who translated the «Called Party Number» number = 8099 (this is the SIP Trunk for VCS).

    Called Party Transformations:

    Called mask = 8XXX

Take the numbers Instruction = None

    Prefix =

    Called number = 8099

In venture capital, there is a transformation for the 8099 dialed.

The MCU is registerd with [email protected] / * / on the VCS - it's self attandant.

In the Cisco Jabber client I never receive video or audio of the MCU AA - it looks like the call's not connect.

If I spent a glance in the VCS, I see the appeal as active and connected.

Also, I traced the call made by the VCS in debug mode.

Do you have any hint for me where I can troubleshoot further? It's a question MCU or CUCM or VCS?

    Good bye

    Stefan

Hi Stefan.  I would probably run a Trace SDI on the CUCM as well.  Seems the cancel is coming from CUCM side and end the call.  To check that your possibly fall on: CSCty07061, I could run the trace of the SDI and see after reception of 180 ringing of venture capital if he tries to do a DNS query for @mcu.

    The entries may look like:

    | 1.3508793, 63, 100, 2 ^ 10.52.36.15 ^ *.

    11:20:09.377 | / / SIP/SIPDns (2,72,1) / wait_SdlDnsSrvRecordRsp: received specified SdlDnsSrvRecordRsp is - 1. 0, 0, 0, 0.0 ^ * ^ *

    11:20:09.377 | / / SIP/SIPDns (2,72,1) / copyRecordRspToRecordReq: query retry SRV as a 1 request | 0, 0, 0, 0.0 ^ * ^ *

    11:20:09.377 | / / SIP/SIPDns (2,72,1) / wait_SdlDnsSrvRecordRsp: hostname (DNS A or AAAA query called a query SRV Fail) = mcu

    --------------

If that's what your race, false address to solve the @mcu would be required for the call to go forward.  I have this based off the coast an explanation here, but cannot actually ensure that it's what your run in.  But check the trace of the SDI AFTER the 180 ringing and see.

    I hope this helps.

  • Questions about VCS, MCU, ISDN gateway license

    Dear Expert.

I question of license on my next device.

    (1) I have:

VCSC - 10 calls Non-traversal, crossing 100 calls license license

    vcse - 5 traversal calls

If I register the mcu and the endpoint to the VCSC as the guardian h323.

I should have a 15 (5 calls traveral and 10 calls non-traversal) sites h323 conference call simultaneously on the MCU?

    > If I record my MCUS and endpoints to the ISDN gateway as the guardian h323.

    > I should be able to do an 18 sites (1 h323 calls and ISDN 17 * 128 Kbps) conference at the same time call

    > on the MCU?

GK embarked on telepresence ISDN Gateway has no limitation for the number of concurrent calls.

Limitation is only for the registration number.

As gateway ISDN support audio connection gateway exclusively, with simultaneous simple T1 (T1 = 24 b, PRI = 23 b = D), maximum number of calls is superior to '18' as audio call consume only 1 b-channel.

  • Questions of permanent conference MCU 4501

Hi, I've created several permanent conferences on MCU.

Permanent Conference sometimes appear as finished. Operators of swear that they have not finished their manually.

Also, then I put the Conference, by changing its properties and 'permanent' checkbox control, he suddenly starts to all former in conference, even if there is NO preconfigured participant.

This caused a lot of havoc and disruptions, by calling the BIG BOSSES and so on.

    Any suggestions?

    Software MCU:

    Version 4.3 (2.30)
    Variant 6.18 (2.30)

Yes, it's what I expected to happen. When you add participants to a permanent conference using TMS, they are added as preconfigured participants, but TMS never deletes them. See bug CSCtr35038 for more information.

  • Conference MCU SIP with VCS registration question

    Hi all

We have a cluster of MSE 8510 MCU (software version 4.5 (1.72), Build 6.19 (1.72)) with 86 active confeneces. All of them are configured in the same way, to use H.323 and SIP registrar calls control.

The thing is, I can see all conferences recorded under H323 and some of them just registered as SIP on the VCS cluster (X.8.2.2).

What is the problem? Why can't all register using SIP?

    See you soon,.

    Petar

Can you check to see how many conferences are recorded using SIP?

If it's 50, this seems to be the maximum that can be recorded, see enhancement request CSCum48651.

  • Question of MCU 4505

    Dear,

Can someone explain me that MCU4505 a VCS need to work, or it can work alone without the need of VCS?

I bought a 4505 MCU with 38 EX60 and PC20 4, so I need it a VCS until my work of video conference, in total I need is maximum 10 sessions lecture at the same time.

Please help me solve the problem.

    Kind regards

short answer is no, you do not need a VCS to conferences with the MCU. They can direct calls in MCU and set up a new conference or enter a pre-existing.

  • [Issue] it is possbile to use MCU 4501 on network 1:1 NAT?

Hi, I have a very simple question.

I'll put MCU 4501 model on a private network to connect to public IP codec devices.

Without devices INCAPACITANTS, Turn, or VCS, it works standalone with H323 and its private IP address is set to 1:1 public IP address.

In this position, is that it is possible another codec public IP can join the session of MCU 4501?

In my view, would be well accepted, but given media cannot be accepted because the IP address in the payload would be signaling missmatching.

No one knows about it? or can I use some free public STUN, ENABLE Server H323 Direct mode? or do it by myself?

I have no senior engineer and I have to learn about it, everybody ask me when they stuck on the frame.

This site is the last hope for me, and I'm sorry for imconvient read, it is not my mother tongue.

    Thank you.

For H.323, IP address of the port media negotiate during the call setup is not using the IP header.

If your compatible Firewall H.323 AGL, handful of firewall NAT IP and H.323 signal header conversion.

However for MCU, you can consider the firewall on MCU option if you are looking for private/public double network connection.

  • Why replace MSE 8510 MCU 4.4 with Telepresence Server (3.1)

We have a with MCU 4.4 MSE 8510. Looking at the software accessible to the general public, that looks like that I could replace the software with the telepresence instead server software.

Why I do this? What can I win (and lose) by? I don't have any old CTS systems, just Jabber, MXP and C systems. Is telepresence server software that is actively developed while the old software MCU is not?

    Thank you

I agree with you, Codian MCU is the best.   =)

This is why I think Cisco is not going to add MCU multi-screen support, because if MCU multi-screen support, I don't know that all customers would not want to migrate to server TP or buy a new server TP.

But because of these two main features of server TP, we think about its use, who are the multimonitor support and support for the optimization of the resources with the driver.

Many Cisco! As always... In this way, they can keep the two products on the market, MCU and GST.

  • Tab MCU 4220 Gateway

    Hello

In the MCU 4220 interface, there is a tab for the gateway. What is the point of having this and how do you use it?

How I would like to iniate a call with this 'bridge '?

    Excerpt from the online help:

The MCU can then actually call through these gateways configured for one or more endpoints that are registered with the entry door, but would not accessible directly from the MCU.

Refer to the 'Management of gateways' section of the online help for the MCU series starting on pg 120.

If you have any other questions, you must move your question to the section of telepresence to the forums where are discussed more actively to these devices.  You can move your discussion by editing your message and change the categories at the bottom.

  • Hi, could you please answer question in terms of meeting place?

Hi, I work in service of meeting place, I got very confused these 2 question:

    (1) in a real Conference senario, each audio stream of a participant must go to blade Audio (Media server) to mix. If so, then we have the conference voice gateway resource what is it for?  I mean no use voice gateway DSP farm set up a conference?

    (2) in version V7, each audio blade has 250 ports session (G711 audio codec only), and for example, we have 2 blades, then it means that all the participants of the meeting at the same time must be not more than 500?

    (3) the mode of operation of blade audiao, in a shared pool? or other self-locking?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lin,

    Let me answer your questions:

    1. in version 7.x, you use the MCU hardware blades (Audio or video or both) for your audio/video conferences. When you schedule a meeting, this meeting is held on this MCU and you use resouces about this MCU depending on the type of meeting that you have planned (Audio or video or both).

DSP resources are more for transcoding in this case and not for the Conference.

2-1 port, 1 user (1 session audio) then Yes you can max 500 participants in a single conference.

    3. When you schedule a meeting you are reserving the resouces on your MCU so you are limited to what is available.

  • QoS implementationon MCU with conductor and operation

    Hi all

We added the MCU to the driver for resilience, but design QoS on MCU is configured on the conductor or MCU?

In addition, we would like to discuss about layout MCU control. Based on the advanced driver parameter of model - custom layout, it's a change in real time? Given that we change the MCU available directly.

    Best regards

    Benjamin Lai

If you use TMS with driver, you'd make all your changes Conference there and not directly on the MCU.  While you can make the changes on the MCU, if using TMS just be careful because TMS could see the MCU that do one thing while you make changes manually.  That said, you can make changes on the MCU, nothing wrong with that, actually make us ourselves on some occasions where we need, simply because of where we are or what device we use, because TMS is not compatible with everything, because it uses Java, IE a mobile device if it is what I happen to have on hand instead of a laptop.

There is a question that I know with TMS and layouts of conductor (see but CSCuq62737) is that you can change the layout on a basis of individual endpoints and it works fine, however if you try and wide Conference on change page layouts, only currently works for new members added to the Conference.

Regarding the quality of service, I'm not quite sure, I think it would be considered data, because the presentation is really just another video channel.

  • C90 w/4210/5320 MCU H.239 Frame Rate

I admit the departure, it's "H.239 101" type question, but our environment is transitional on very old rooms of 4:3 which were never designed to manage content on separate screens so I'm just now my hands dirty with the intended user, experience sharing content.

My question is around H.239 - cadence for C90 endpoints as well as MCU-4210/5320...on the surface, it seems that they are able to share plenty of movement, full-video cadence in the H.239 channel, right? must be able to handle 720 p, 30 frames per second?

In tests, I connected a C90 to two MCU to the relatively high rate of calls (1.5 MB, 2,0 MB) and when I check stats, H.239 channel turns to the expected bitrate and resolution-but very low frequency of frames... between 4/7 frames per second

I think I am missing some setting commonly or game setting between the endpoint and MCU.

In addition to setting minimum outflow for the content on the MCU, what other effects H.239 - cadence? I tried to play with the settings of weight main/presentation in the C90, but does not appear to affect the results.

Thanks in advance for any response

Take a look at this discussion, cisco-mse-8510-content-frame-rate-and-resolution-limitations.  In short, the cadence of the content that is being received and sent by the MCU are dependent on how you have the quality that is configured for the endpoint PC Input, that is to say: (default) sharpness or movement.  There is no middle ground, or dynamic parameters, it's one of those two.

  • SIP spam attack and MCU and vcs - e call

It is a well known problem and it affects H.323 and SIP, take a look at the below threads:

There are many more discussions on this issue, the above, this is just a small selection. :)

You do not need to disable SIP on the VCS-E, all you need to do is turn SIP UDP unless you need it for voice services.

You can protect yourself by using a CPL on the VCS-E who will avoid calls to go through your MCU, or anything else you have sitting behind the VCS-E. This is assuming that you are using a combo of VCS-C/VCS-E, with the VCS - C behind a firewall and the VCS-E outside the firewall, for example in the demilitarized zone.

Having just trouble ask points of termination or MCU sitting in nature with public IP addresses.

These scans, moreover, mainly looking for systems that will allow them to make free international calls.

  • Telepresence MCU - Port vs Adhoc Conferencing booking

    Hi all

I was wondering why is the MCU software disabling creation of ad-hoc conferences for unknown, when calls media port reservation is turned on.

Is there a way to run multiway microcontroller, which has the port reservation lit?

    Thank you all,

    Emre

    Hello

You want to know why MCU works this way? It's simple, because this single behavior that makes sense to the concept of "reserve". Consider the following example:

You have scheduled a conference in MCU for tomorrow morning at 10:00. You have a MCU 4510 with 20 available HD ports and selected 18 participants in this conference in particular, and you use reserve port, which means you want MCU to make sure that these ports are available to host this conference. Right. Then in the morning, just before the scheduled conference start, some users start an ad-hoc multipoint meeting using multiway and down 4 video ports of your MCU. Then, when the scheduled conference start, MCU will ports available to host your regular conference, once your users use the resources for purposes of adhoc.

Do you see? Port reservation is a concept where MCU is to ensure that you will have the resources available to the conference in particular, therefore, the only way to achieve this is by totally disabling chartering conferences (ad hoc conferences), so that the MCU will be able to control the entire session and know when its resources will be available or not, either by using MCU to plan or TMS.

In other words, if MCU allowed you to create conferences whenever you want via adhoc, then the concept of reservation is completely broken, you wouldn't have no guarantee that your resources are really reserved.

Therefore, if you have need to be scheduled and ad hoc conferences happening in the same MCU, disable a reservation and manually control your availability of resources. If you must make a reservation from port and at time same adhoc conferences, it is not possible except by placing an other MCU in your environment, you will so use an MCU to scheduling with reserve and another for ad hoc conferences.

    I hope this helps.
