Question of reflow fonts

After I have updated to the latest version of reflow all my text converted to nonsense (example: my button 'ABOUT' now reads as "CDQWV".) It reads still about on the value of the key, but real button reads as described. Someone has a solution for this, or the cause?

    eBay policies is always displayed correctly using IE. BUT little by little, eBay police changed the size of font within a given page of eBay. 'My eBay' a 10 drop-down selections. These 5 are OK: offers/offers, Watch List, purchase history, my Collections, Messages. These 5 police being so small almost invisible: summary, wish list, all the lists, sales, followed by research. If all goes well, a fellow eBayer is to see these changes too.

    I'm guessing that eBay programmers have been tweaking Internet Explorer to correctly display the fonts on all pages, as Internet Explorer has had its own problems of font size of eBay in the past. But now using Internet Explorer looks good! However, at the same time, Firefox has really gone South. My guess is the tweaking of the IE has destroyed now possibility of FireFox to display the font correctly sizes in eBay. Ask me questions if you see what I see. I can send some screenshots. Thank you, Tom Smiley

    Two other thoughts:

    (1) Firefox allows you to select a font size minimum for all pages. It can destroy a large number of provisions, so usually it not very useful, but if the fonts are unreasonably tiny, you can try it.

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > content > button "Advanced".

    The top of the page, set "fonts for: Western ' and then about halfway to the bottom of the dialog box, change the Minimum font size to 9.

    At the top, the value ' fonts for other languages: ' and repeat the process. And then click OK.

    Which enlarges the tiny fonts?

    (2) there are scaling of the problems with the new screens of more-than-the-full-HD, especially when the site uses the Flash plugin. If you have such a screen, you may lodge a complaint with the site, so they can update their Flash media.

  • Questions of the font substitution during the creation of the PS file in Distiller PDF

    I don't know if this post should go under Distiller Server, but he doesn't know if there is a difference between X Distiller and Distiller Server.

    Context: I'm trying to convert postscript on my PC files that come from a single Mac built the program and unfortunately receive the following error message:

    %% [Warning: Helvetica not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
    %% [Warning: Helvetica-Bold not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
    %% [Warning: Helvetica-BoldOblique not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%

    When I try to convert postscript fonts to PDF in Acrobat Distiller X substitutes in the Arial font. I have a few versions of Helvetica on my PC but Distiller does not recognize them.

    My question is: How can I know distill, by default, to substitute for Helvetica loaded on my PC rather than Arial so that I have eliminated the error message and get specific pdf.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    You can use the files in distiller by going to settings.  See these two photos (click on it)

  • Newbie question totally re Fonts

    Am embarrassed even to ask the question, but I've used Freehand years and am just now starting with Illustrator.

    Reviewing a document that has been created there a year (by someone else). Would like to be able to change the typography of the titles but - even thoughI have dozens and dozens of fonts loaded via my font management program - I see a selection of only about 12 fonts in my character Illustrator window. And these are the same fonts that were used for this document.

    I'm trying to learn how this can be upset.

    How to make Illustrator to recognize all the other open fonts that I have on my computer so that I can use these in this document?

    Thanks for any help offered.

    You have a conflict of police somewhere. You need to check your fonts and make sure they are in good working order and there is no conflict of interest. Illustrator is just showing a symptom of a bad policy.

    Looks like you used the printer fonts.

    FM, you need to set your default printer to the AdobePDF printer instance (get utility freebie for the Sundorne SetPrint for this).

  • Question of embedding fonts when SWF is loaded into the charger

    Hello.

    I ran into a problem of the incorporation of police where all the text fields with embedded police disappear when the SWF file is loaded as a child into a parent SWF. When the SWF file is read directly as stand-alone or inside a container of page HTML, text fields display perfectly with embedded fonts. Just not if the SWF is loaded into another SWF. It's basically the way I joined the police:

    [Inside the document class]

    [Embed (source="/Library/Fonts/Arial.ttf", fontName = "FontVerdana", mimeType ="application/x-font-truetype")]

    public static FontVerdana: Class const;

    var theFont * = new FontVerdana();

    var myText:TextField = new TextField();

    var fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();

    FMT.font = theFont;

    myText.embedFonts = true;

    myText.setTextFormat (fmt);

    Incidentally, I either work on a Mac using Flex 3.5. Anyone encountered this problem? What can be done to fix this?

  • question of Embeded fonts

    Someone can asnwer the following about the fonts embedded in a Flex 4 (component) application:

    1. is the file of the same font for Macintosh and Windows-based computers?

    2. embedded fonts look as good as system fonts?

    Thank you.

    I'm not sure that understand #1.  Data from the specified font file is copied

    in the SWF file and used by the player to display fonts on all platforms.  The

    OS is not delivered the file to make the rendering of the fonts.

    Embedded fonts are the only way to ensure consistency between platforms

    and machines.  If someone does not have the policy that you want to use, on most

    Operating systems, you will get an approximation of the police.  Display of built-in police

    quality is not controlled by the options of smoothing of the fonts on the user's computer.

    You should see what looks like a font not incorporated during a rotation on XP with

    font-smoothing off the coast.

  • Question Illustrator CS4 fonts (BIG) - navigation - MAC

    Hi guys,.

    I really hope someone can help me with this one! If this isn't the case, I hope that Adobe will notice my thread!

    When I'm working with fonts in Photoshop, the program normally allows me to browse the fonts and see my text to transform so that it is selected. By pressing up and down keys, allows me to see the next or previous police. This function saves me a lot of time, because I have select each font by pressing the police-catalog-drop-down and select a font with my mouse. Especially when working on logos and print, in general it's a huge time saver! So why I'm not able to do that in illustrator on my Mac?

    Is this a bug in the software, a solution to my problem exist the fact?

    HELP / REPAIR! (-:

    Anders

    This is the only feature Windows, they have no interest in porting it to Mac or may not.

    It is a long standing feature request, but I would not hold my breath on this one.

    There are many Illustrator Mac users are against Adobe wasting time and resources on this feature, as they have never used in Photoshop where it works.

    It could be a losing battle in advance you can try the forum feature request to see what kind of support you get.

  • Questions of legality of fonts

    Most of the fonts, including those built in windows seem to have either difficult to find, very complex or very expensive licenses for commercial use in an application with editable text.

    My question is, what fonts are safe to use? Can I use Arial without any problem? I thought Microsoft fonts have been pretty much public domain, but further research shows otherwise.

    I could REALLY use some help with this sort.

    You do not have a license to use a font, only to distribute.  As you do not distribute these fonts inside your .bar, you do not need a license.  All are preinstalled on the Tablet and available for any application to use.

    Here is the complete list of 0.9.4.  Of course, what it is in the Beta SDK is subject to change without notice by the final version, but I hope that it will be stable enough (probably only additions, if applicable and no absorption).  We got confirmation that Myriad Pro is without a doubt to the default font now.

  • Font size of Java?

    Hi, I have a question about the font size.

    First when you create a new font is pt or px size (I think it's pt)

    Then, a web browser has a 16px default font size how do you create a Java font is this size?
    And, how do you scale?

    font.deriveFont (32.0) - is it 32pt or 32px (is this 200% of 16px) how to make 200% of 16px?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Richard

    I came up with a way to get from 16px in pt for a particular screen by the following. I was wondering if there is an easier way?
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.font.*;

    public class Main
    {
        public static void main(String[] args)
        {
            Frame frame = new Frame();
            frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            frame.setVisible(true);
        }
    }

    class Frame extends JFrame
    {
        public Frame()
        {
            setTitle("Get font px to pt");
            setSize(300,300);
            JPanel panel = new Panel();
            add(panel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
        }
    }

    class Panel extends JPanel
    {
        public void paint(Graphics g)
        {
            Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)g;
            super.paint(g);
            FontRenderContext context = g2.getFontRenderContext();
            Font font = new Font("Times New Roman", Font.PLAIN,1);
            String test = "A";
            boolean found = false;
            float i = 1.0f;
            while(i < 20.0f && !found)
            {
                Font f = font.deriveFont(i);
                LineMetrics lm = f.getLineMetrics(test, context);
                float h = lm.getHeight();
                if(h >= 16)
                {
                    found = true;
                    g2.drawString("Standard 16px is "+i+"pt", 10, (int)(h+10));
                }
                i += 0.1f;
            }
        }
    }

    A way to generate a font that produces a specific pixel for a certain string height must create a TextLayout to the string object using the base font, use getBounds () .getHeight () on it to find out the height, and then derive a font of this base font which is reduced by a transformation affine height pixels You must use the baseFont.deriveFont (at) corresponding to your affine transformation (that you define to a scaling by the required report). Generate the TextLayout will require a FontRenderContext, that contains the information needed to translate the point size of the font to a height of pixel for the display device.

  • Fonts on Adobe Acrobat Pro

    Hello

    I have a question about the fonts on Adobe Acrobat Pro (AAP). Previously, the fonts on AAP looked like the following image.

  • Police questions

    I had a search around but can't seem to find an answer to a very basic question:

    Ice fonts appear to be limited to a handful.  How can I add additional (such as Calibri) fonts options in the drop-down list of fonts option?

    See you soon,.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,.

    You cannot add to the list of fonts in InContext Editing the way you can add to the list of fonts CSS in Dreamweaver. The list of fonts in InContext Editing is simply a list of the common fonts available in web browsers and cannot be changed.

    If you want your user to be able to apply the Calibri font in their text, you could do a class style in your style sheet called something like "calibri_font" which are referred to Calibri in good standing of the family of police (as Tommy proposed). Your users will need to select in the Style menu. You could then clear the checkbox of the police for the region in Dreamweaver (in the properties panel) to restrict your users to be able to select a font in the menu fonts InContext Editing.

    Alternatively, if you want your users to use Calibri, apply the style of the family of police for the combo box and uncheck the check box fonts and Styles CSS for the region. In this way the region will use always Calibri and your username cannot be changed in the region police.

    But don't forget that Tommy has said, if a person who views the Web site does not have Calibri and available in their browser, the police will be replaced with what is specified by default in their browser preferences.

    Best regards

    Corey
