Random failures Touchpad

I use a g6 2123us with Windows 8.1 Pavilion and it was a wonderful computer for many uses, except for the fact that in recent years I have had random times where the touchpad just stopped working a wide variety of situations without any sort of model.  As he continued, I studied a lot of reasons and ways to fix it with no avail.  About events, I tried using the methods of toggling including the point on the touchpad, but all were not successful except using tab, arrows, enter and other navigation keys using the mouse properties and resetting the device.  The side nerd me eventually created a keyboard shortcut for this point to move the navigation.  But why is it happening in the first place?  Is this some kind of problem with the hardware?  If so, what should do?

I personally would check to see if there is an update to the driver, otherwise try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad, if the exsist yet problem check with HP if your warranty is up, and if so to have it sent for repair

My touchpad disabled randomly re allows, with my hung wireless mouse. usually at the wrong time like in the middle of a battle over a game making me do right or left clicks or other things I won't do. He also re active on a start or restart and works with the installed logitec mouse. opening of the mouse still once, that turns off the touchpad again.  so not a problem serious but embarrassing. If disabled, it should remain disabled.

I made a few changes to my laptop boot order and the 500 GB hd was initially divided into 3 partitions. one for the operating system and two equal, when I arrived at 245? GB of data on my partition it didn 't' t use the other 245 and says the disk is full, in order to use the entire disk, I've merged the two partitions and afraid of possible complications, if I try to do a cleanboot.

I did even with my computer windows 8, which has had problems with the update windows 8.1 do not restart after the update. I fixed it by changing the bios boot order, and now it works fine. and it restarts with all my previously installed programs and files still intact.

So, if after what I did for my laptop I'm a little hesitant to make a cleanboot and possibly make my computer unusable. It shouldn't be a problem, but I don't want to take any chances!

This didn't happen with the version 3 x, nor with the previous v4. Using the arrow to the left and clicking on the previous page request usually works ok. It happens several times a day. Full error is

  • Reset ends in white screen, no job options

I have a MacBook pro 15 inch, start 2011 with always OSX Lion .on that it installed.

Never did really of the software updates, since a few days ago. It was clearly a mistake. An orange, I got first screen, then white and blue. And after another implementation, it is even more possible to connect.

I tried all the options people suggest online mode (shift) course, mode(cmd+r), vram(cmd+opt+p+r), only mode(cmd-s) and internet recovery mode recovery. (cmd + opt + r).  I continue to ending on a white screen just after the Apple logo.

    -Safe mode = never got in front of a white screen;

    -recovery mode = never got in front of a white screen;

    VRAM-= think it worked because the sound of the chimes was stronger after;

-Single mode = Can get all the time; but sometimes blue with white letters, then the next restart custom works for sure.

-Recovery Internet = Ethernet cable and the world appears but only managed to reach the second screen once.

opt + D (material check says that there is no problem with my hardware)

I managed to reach the login screen a few times with lots of fsck - fy and restarts... But quickly dropped again after the login. At each time it failed, the Apple logo was a blue tint and I managed to reach the login, the logo was gray.

Yesterday, I managed to reinstall OS x Lion with restoration of the Internet, the first time I got to the screen with the options.

I worked very well with a bit of Internet and Excel. Then I wanted to reach the Java Control Panel in system preferences to check if the problem was Java. It crashed.

Managed to connect one more time and I tried to update Java in the browser instead of system preferences. It crashed. HARD.

After restarting, no option no longer works with the exception of the screen in single mode; but the screen is blue with white letters, so I don't know if I'm able to reach the login screen more.

I already tried many things and I'm afraid, I only make worse it.

I think the problem is the Java framework or the video graphics drivers. Rather the software associated with that material, but I don't know more.

    Someone knows what to do?

make an appointment at the genius Bar to be sure that you have these questions:

Your Mac MUST meet all THE requirements of the program to cover. It must be in the correct date range and must be able to run the diagnosis of VST and fail to be covered by the program.

Mac that don't meet ALL the requirements (such as Macs who cannot run anything) is generally considered a random failure.

Looking for help and I will do exactly that.

So when I looked through hp.com I came across this "Slow printing" document that addresses the issue with the 10.9 Mavericks and other operating systems, and it seemed like the best place to start. So if you could please go through it and follow the steps and let me know how it goes it would be great! They are very descriptive and easy I promise you.

    Hello. Deploy a satellite A200.

Original problem would not initialize only power light and hard drive light came on a second, nothing on the screen, not access to the parameters of F2. Reinstall memory, no go, deleted the test and drive hard and read disc hard ok in an external enclosure. With disk hard deleted computer will start after market boot disk and running program diagnosis ok. Can now access the settings of F2.

Format external hard drive, reinstall and start with the startup disk, hard disk appears in the bios, the test runs diagnostic ok.
Tried to install Windows XP and XP pro and windows twice starts to install and then comes up with an error saying there is no hard drive present, even if the Bios and a diagnostic boot disk at the same time recognize the hard drive.

  • OfficeJet 7500 has firmware

My 7500 has worked just since I bought it. A number of errors appear get flashed upwards several times. In all over the past 2 years I only managed to print 7 pages around. Because I was busy, I simply bought a competitors printer which worked perfectly.

Now I have time to work on it, I've checked everything I can physically on the device - nothing works.

My best guess is that there is some faulty firmware in the machine that detects failures where none exists.

Someone at - it on the other made a firmware update (if possible)? Or should I chuck just the machine into the bin and stick with the competition?

    Problem identified.

On the motherboard hidden deep inside the work is a battery of small discs - this was not causing the machine to identify random failure modes.

However, in order to get to this point, I had to disassemble the machine completely.

While I was doing this, I noticed large pools of ink inside the printer. HP clearly knew this problem because the volume around the print head parking area has been filled with wadding of absobent. This explains why the machine seems to "drink" expensive ink.

Very bad HP at the failure of the design in a home user machine cost (UK£ 500, $ 800 two years ago).

Because of this sloppy design and bad workmanship, I decided enough was enough and the machine is now in the bin.

I buy HP Desktop again? I will recommend HP to friends and neighbors? AM I impressed with the help of HP?

    I do not.

  • Dv5000 troubleshooting

I have an old laptop DV5000 since mid-2006 who worked at random and I'm trying to circumvent the problem. I'll try and keep this short ish since I could go into great detail about every little thing, but will try and cover the main things first and let support fine tune from there.

At one point, I left my father use it as a PC at home but it was left closed and had a monitor/keyboard/mouse all wired. He was left on 24/7 im not sure for how long and whether froze one day or we close to disappear for a few days, and when the questions return began. Anyway once he had a problem, always there for the start.

Basically it would not suddenly turn a day in front of a black screen after trying different times and ways, I finally managed to do start a few times, most of them he would freeze during loading of windows, once connected, or a few minutes in the office etc. I had a pretty long time to shoot the files I wanted out of it. It was a few years ago.

I did research at random times on any bugs and one day decided to try to make it work again. Same issues happen it does not start either, it starts and crashes, or most of the time it actually starts to something, but it will eventually just kill all black screen and still have the keyboard lights on and fans running I think. When I started trying to reinstall the ram, he seems to have better results (always removed power and battery by). At any given time, I could make it work for a few days, if it crashed / have frozen or had problems, the only way to start again would be to reinsert the RAM, I think that I ended up swapping the sticks the same slots.

He worked for the most part, but I think that whenever I made a full stop, he would go back to stubborn and does not until I reinstalled the memory, sometimes it required also me to reinstall the HARD drive, or that the extra step was sufficient to get it working again. Either way I remember it never works well for some time, normal shutdown and restart sometime later and be 100% for this period. At best, I could remove a reboot and it worked sometimes, but I don't think that a complete stop never again come online without messing around with memory.

I remember to test antivirus, software spies, maleware, etc and come clean, I also did a test disc HARD BIOS, the short test passed, and I think that the long test claimed be like 100 minutes after 180minutes and he says another 50 or 60%, I thought that it froze and it cancelled. I read somewhere that the BIOS should have a test of memory too, but I didn't. It doesn't have a tab diagnosis, just a tool of those who took the test only HARD drive. I have not tried memtest86 or whatever it is to test the memory, which I think is the main problem or maybe a power outlet.

Also only once out of many many restarts and attempts to tinker with him I said black screen

"Windows was not start because the following file is missing or damaged:

    \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM

You can try to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' in the first screen to start repair. »

I could take a picture with my phone and have it always, I never do a repair, I don't remember if a reinstallation of the HARD drive fixed or what, but of course eventually fine bootted. Once again it happened only once. He may have got a BSOD every now and then too, but I don't remember for sure. Most of the time, it was the random failure and no chance to easily make it work again immediately.

Finally, it seems does not not even with memory or HDD relocation. Same case it would rise to a black screen or a lock at various points. I then put away for a while yet.

Today I pulled it back to try again. This time, I left only 1 stick of RAM in (I don't remember if I tried this before or not) and the battery, also left its functional summer for me well outside the door, but very slow. Also, I decided to try some tools and takes screenshots of the info. I did Crystaldiskinfo to see if the HARD drive was ok and I don't know how to read all the lines, but he said not good and I can post the screenshot if there is a way to download here. I also got to test the temperature of the cpu Core Temp and it was 45 c idle and as 61C full or almost full load according to Core Temp. These are not cool by any means, but I know always felt deep down so maybe its normal for laptop computers of this time or this one, I know it's a safe area at least hot on the first day.

That everything is recommended to test and fix the problem since I know he won't only to work 100% all of a sudden.

    (1) can weigh us the battery as a problem or should I continue to keep only to limit variables?

    (2) should I try with the other stick of memory RAM in the same location as the one currently to see if its only 1 stick or try this running stick in the slot 2 to test the slot machine random?

    (3) I have try running Memtest86 or another program like this? (I have never ran before would have to read) Memory or the plug is always my main guess as a failure.

    (4) the chances whether the HARD drive?

    (5) what other info I can provide to make it easier for you?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey @MrtBahgs ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

Looks like you have some teething problems. I am tempted to believe that you are dealing with a memory or a HARD drive problem, as you have already said.

With regard to your first questions of the post:

    (1) we can exclude only the battery if you are able to use the same laptop with the battery and not on current alternative.
    (2) try all possible combinations of RAM and DIMM slot. Check the differences in performance and priming. (No boot is not a real word... but it should be!)
    (3) Yes. Run Memtest86 with the two cards.
    (4) check the HARD drive like this: start Notepad in safe mode with command prompt. In the command prompt, type the following command - chkdsk /f c: - this check the HARD drive FYI corrupted or bad sectors and try to fix them. Repair requires the drive is locked and may ask you to reboot, so it can properly repair. If this is the case, do.
    (5) you gave me a lot of information and I salute you for that. When you use a support forum, there is no such thing as too much information. Always better to have and not need, need and did not.

You can also try to save your info on an EHD, or by plugging the HARD drive into a desktop PC (adapter cables are required). The best way to backup is to copy the contents of the folder C:\Users (or whatever it is another important). Once you have backed up your important files to reinstall the HARD drive in the laptop (if you moved it to a PC) and perform a full system recovery.

Let me know if it works for you!

  • Failed hard drive, HELP! I want my data of user account

My hard drive failed last Saturday (September 3) and local repair technicians told me it was a critical failure because she refuses to boot into Windows no matter what. The drive itself ran Windows XP Pro (SP3) and was in perfect health until this random failure.

I can still read its data if I connect to another computer and treat it like a disc Add on, so I took the oppritunity back up all my data and program installers who have survived in a temporary folder on the other computer. The only thing I want now is my data of user such as custom settings account, that I had.

Where Windows stores my custom settings of data of the real of the user (desktop theme, desktop wallpaper settings, settings of the record, things like that)? So I can upgrade to Windows 7, I want to be able to migrate the information from my account in XP as well, but obviously I can't do the normal with the Windows easy transfer program track if I can't get my boot drive in Windows.

I finally got all the stuff I needed to get my computer running under W7. I also transferred what data I could off the old drive as an external slave coast. So I got what I needed.

It turns out that files AND Windows 7 itself modern motherboard BIOS seems smart enough to identify a failing hard drive. They both harassed me that he is basically junk and I have to back up what I have on this matter as soon as POSSIBLE. That and I certainly couldn't coax the wrong disc when starting windows. However, I copied what I needed. So I can't fix it or use it further.

  • My computer crashes! -unknown error checking

The computer is a Microsoft Windows XP Professional. It is rather more older (2005) and was not up-to-date or online until a few years ago. (Mainly used for games.) However, it is almost unusable now, because it hangs on a consistent basis.

There are several different problems. The most common one is a random stop that occurs out of the blue. Most of the time it restarts and reports "system has recovered from a serious error." These error reports are different and do not have a common denominator. Sometimes they are corrupt. Other times, the computer is simply blank after the accident. the monitor to fall asleep and the tower still running.

There is also a 'frozen' system that occurs just after the start. He reached the office but does not do so. Sometimes the keyboard and the mouse still work, but I can't click on anything. (I'm usually off manually after these two problems).

I would include all system information I could, but unfortunately I can not turn on the computer for trouble right now. When I turn it on, the screen simply says "VGA status: no Signal input." It is like that for ever until I have turn off manually. (It's happened and I will continue to try to get it started). I tried safe mode; seems to work very well. I tried a clean boot this morning; It starts fine but after I put it in sleep mode, it is dead...

I'm lost as to what is causing all this. This random failure has been occurring regularly for more than a year. Some days it hangs constantly and there are days when it works quite well. I tried every virus program, running the check disk, fragmentation and the installation of each update available. Nothing seems to help or give me a clue as to what is wrong, because when the computer is not crashing, it works perfectly fine!

There are also several non-plug-and-play devices that have a yellow warning sign next to them. They all have the letter K and the other numbers to them, with the exception of a device series. They all give me code 24 (this device is not working properly or is not all its drivers installed, or something like that.)

I would point out that the computer had viruses and Trojan horses on it, but I think they have been removed. I have Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware on it.

In addition, there is an annoying tendency of balloons popup that warn me that firewall Windows has been disabled. Half the time, I opened the firewall and it is on. The rest of the time I have to manually turn it back on. Any idea what could be the cause?

And regarding "recently installed programs" that could cause this problem of crash, it is impossible, because he does this for years!

Sorry for the length of this. There are a lot of problems with no real information. I wish I could provide more data and I'll try to when the computer is running again, but I don't really know where to start. I hope that's not a failure of the motherboard or something...

I'm very happy for any kind of help!

    Hello M & Mmpty,

I took a glance at the last dump.  It was a stop 0x8E.  From what we see in the landfill, MPFilter.sys seems to be the culprit on this one.

It is a component of Microsoft Security Essentials.

Here is the stack of debugging information.  As you will see, MPFilter is at the top of the stack:

The standards of antivirus, it seems to be enough old-April:

    1: kd > lmvm mpfilter
    start end module name
    f204b000 f2071800 MpFilter T (no symbol)
    Loaded symbol image file: MpFilter.sys

I would recommend the following: measures:

    1. Download the latest version of Microsoft Security Essentials.
    2. Uninstall the current version.
    3. Reinstall the freshly downloaded version.

Let us know if you have any questions about it.

I will consider other landfills shortly.

    Best regards

  • My Media Center is still broken. The notice of recovery, I have to fix was less useless.

I followed all the instructions given to me to attempt a repair of ehRec.exe. These instructions took the time to follow, but in the end, destroyed my software Windows completely. I have re-installed Windows from the installation disc (which did not include a codec MPEG2.) I got the ffdshow codec, kind of works. However, even after a reinstall complete ehRec.exe is always (occasional) broken, that my media center crashes more than half the time, I try to use it, and almost always regular for registration fails. Is it possible that maybe some Microsoft fix caused the problem? I know by looking at other forums that I am not the only unhappy camper in Media Center.

I am very pleased with the notice I received. The instructions regarding the use of sfc were simply wrong and the instructions on how to fix my problem were probably just fake too. For example, I don't think you can do a repair installation, unless you have an up-to-date installation CD 100%. Certainly, that didn't in my case and left the system in a State that won't start plu. I start to wonder if your procedures have been tested on real systems with older installation CD and upgrades and random failures since the initial installation.

On another thread, kkwriter (a user, no Microsoft technical support) gave me an answer to this problem:

Media center and client .net 4 are not compatible. Remove .net 4 and the media center problems disappear. (Ignore the warning that some programs may break if you remove .net 4 when uninstall you.) Some might, but none that I use.)

There are probably a lot of people with the media center problem. It's too bad Microsoft does one.

  • What material would keep ramdomly turn off the computer and then restarting him?

OK, I completely re-charge this machine, but it still keeps randomly turn off and restart... someone has any suggestions other than "TRASH IT"?  I'm about to.  Can not get up-to-date, because of this random failure and reboot.  What do you think?  Please answer.  It is a bridge of 2002.  Thank you.

Overheating is probably possible.  Check that the fan is working OK.  Also, make sure that the vents are not blocked. If they are blocked by the accumulation of dust, buy a can of compressed air in a computer store to blow off the dust, etc.

In addition, make sure that the cards any plugin (video cards, etc.) are securely fixed in their media.
