  • Pavilion dv4: Windows 7 does not start and I can't access the system with f11 recovery

    I use a Pavilion dv4. Windows just crashed on a blue screen with a message about physical memory dump. Now when I start the computer it will just a black screen with a blinking cursor to the place when windows normally should start. I can not access the system with the f11 key recovery. I went in with the f2 key diagnostic mode. Diagnostic tests except for the battery test that failed, but shouldn't the laptop to be able to run without a battery if it is connected? And besides, if the problem was the battery, the laptop wouldn't be able to turn on at all, no?

    I'm not about to spend all that money on a battery just to know that it is not the battery.

    Hello

    If you have the 64 bit rescue CD, you would have received an error if it was bad.

    Once you have all your data backup, try the following - which means that Windows has been installed on the C Partition.

    Boot from the new rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

    Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

    Kind regards

  • Reinstalled XP, but now I can't access the internet

    Hello

    I recently reinstalled Win XP on the same computer on which this copy has been installed.  The computer will have access to our home WiFi network, although he does not always see other computers on the network.  Worse, is that when I run IE6 Service Pak 2 (the version that is installed on the original disc), I can pull up the MSM homepage which will remain for about 15 seconds, then I get an error that IE has to close.  I think it boils down to "I can't access the Internet."  Tried everything that I can think and followed a number of suggestions on this forum.  I've seen comments that I need the update to Windows Service Pak 3 here, but, of course, I can't that without access to the internet.

    Any ideas?  Thank you, Susan

    A few thoughts...
    -from another computer...
    -Make sure you get all the drivers for your computer from the manufacturers Web site
    -Download a form any anti-virus (MSE for example)
    -Download SP3 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24

    Once you have done this, I hope you can get on the Internet. Once there, get all your updates.

    I hope this helps.

  • Change sharing permissions, now I can't access the local disk

    Hello all, I have two computers, both running windows 7 (one is 64-bit and the other is 32-bit) connected via LAN and WiFi. One of them has all of the local disk shared with full compensation for everyone (full control). I decided to remove these permissions and control to "deny". Then I had to cancel the task and decided to resume later. HURT, now I've lost access to this drive, even though I can access some files. When I try to enter in the drive, an error message appears saying "C: is not accessible. Access is denied. I did some research and it seems to be a common problem, but I followed all the steps did not work. It shows as 0 bytes and security options does not show anything, but "you don't have permission to view or change the permissions of the object settings. I tried to adapt, even in safe mode and as administrator, do not to prevail. It keeps saying 'access denied' I also tried to set a hidden administrator account, but the account manager is 'not available for my system' when I made these unfortunate changes, it was not this computer but on the other, I think it might be the reason. Now, I can not access my local disk or change anything. Please, help me, I can't find a solution to this mess!
    Thank you

  • HP MIni 210-2145 DX: clean install of Windows 7, now I can't find the wireless drivers that work.

    I have a HP mini 210-2145 DX.  I recently had to do a clean install of Windows Ultimate edition.  Now, I can get a wireless connection because I can't find the right drivers on the HP site.  I tried 12 + drivers that I downloaded.  They all seem to be for 32 bits, and it's 64-bit.

    Can someone please help me find the right wireless drivers to install?  Thank you.

    Try this different file and see if it works automatically and installs the driver.

    File name: sp57965.exe

    There was also support for the hardware ID you have posted.

    I have no problem downloading the file, or by using 7 - zip to extract the exe file downloaded to a folder that you can browse from the network controller to install the drivers.

    Unfortunately, I can't help you with the problem if the new file does not work.

  • Windows install the latest updates on my phone and now I can't access the internet

    Windows Installer automatically of updates on my computer and now even if the system connects to the wireless network and I have only local access he has no internet access.  I tried both with the wired and wireless options and nor will not work.  Everything worked fine until the update system - do not know if I have to do a system restore to when he installed updates (I tried to restore to a point a few days before the download, but it failed) or if I should try to uninstall updates.  While I am not very confident with the work on the computer would like some advice on the best way to go.

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    1. If you use Norton (Etc), disable it before using System Restore. info at the link above.
    2. try SR in safe mode:
    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
    3 Malware will stop at the system restore:
    If necessary, do all the work Safe Mode with network.
    To get into Safe Mode with network, press F8 at the Power On / boot and use key arrow upward to get into SafeMode with networking from the list of options, and then press ENTER.
  • Re-install Windows 8 pro on PC, how many times before that the product key is not valid?
    Due to problems with Windows Update, and more specifically by using the 8.1 free update, I had some problems and have re-isntalled twice now on this PC.
    You install previous motherboard no re-day after the first installation.
    First install on the replacement motherboard activated via telephone due to the new material.
    2 more reinstall without a phone on the same PC.
    The general consensus is that, once you get to the installation of 5th Activation of the phone is necessary.
    How many times before that the product key is not valid?
    I only ask that the errors are related to data that is not stored on my PC.  and given that Windows 8 is nowhere near the performance and stabilty before I used the App store update I have to reinstall until it's resolved.
    Required to reactivate by phone after the 5th reinstalled only happen based on the license.
    If you make significant changes with a license pre-installed as a motherboard, then you will not be able to use the phone or Internet activation.
  • installed an optional update for webcam now I can't uninstall the optional update
    I installed an optional update for a live! Cam optia pro webcam now camera is not working and I can't uninstall this optional update and I have no restore points...
    Can not install you because there is no entry for it in programs and features or updates installed or because the list has no uninstall capability because there is such an option, but it does not work?
    I know that you do not want to hear this, but you must keep some restore points available for situations like this, even if you are not using intensively or on a regular basis.
    Download and install Revo: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html and see if it works.  Be careful.  The update cannot be a separate thing that can be uninstalled (this is often the case and only a system restore can fix the problem) and try to uninstall can uninstall the entire program - but then again, you may need to do anyway.
    If this does not work, then I suggest you to uninstall the entire program (update and everything) and re-install the original program without the update (and then download and add some other updates that you installed before the latter).  You must also reinstall the drivers and/or firmware - I don't know exactly what is involved, but it should probably be similar if it is not exactly like when you got it.  This should solve the problem.
    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!
  • I changed the security permissions and now I can't access the file in IE
    When I apply changes in the advanced settings, then click on apply this box opens: application security error
    an error occurred applying security information to:                                                                                                                    C:\Users\Jeffry\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft...\D3DCompiler_47.dll
    continue cancel
    Then another box is open behind her that says:Windows Security
    Stop the spread of the permissions settings leads to an inconsistent state, in which some objects have the settings but others don't. If you have made the change by mistake, you must apply the correct change immediately in order to reach a consistent state.
System Restore was not able to help so lets not suggest that.
    I spent 30 million dollars on RegServe and although it helped clean up echoes it did not help this problem. Very complicated and frustrating!
    Hi Jeff, allows to taste the simple options, let us know if you have tried these or not:
    1 restore the permissions of folder for C:\Users\Jeffry: right-click on the file, go to properties, advanced security:
    1.1 property confirm otherwise change it your account,
    1.2 list to ensure that entries includes SYSTEM administrators group and your account, all have full control and none are inherited by the top.
    1.3 the check "Replace all entries authorization child object with permissions entries inheritable from this object" box and click on apply.
    2. try running SFC/scannow:
    3. use FIX IT automatically search and solve problems: http://support2.microsoft.com/fixit/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0
    4. create a new profile, logon, and testing, it works as expected, delete the old profile (backup your data first)
