Re: Satellite A300 - 27H? Do I need to drive HARD recovery partition after the creation of DVD

I just created my recovery two DVDs for my new computer and I want to know if I still need my 113GB partition on my computer?

Hmm.
The recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings, this means that the recovery disk would be to format the whole HARD drive and would create the same partitions as the first day of purchase to create also the recovery of HARD drive partition too

So I think you could remove it if you n t want to have this partition on your HARD drive

See you soon

  • Satellite A300 - Catalyst 10.3 running Linux driver support

    Hello!

I'm surprised why Toshiba do not support the "ATI Catalyst 10.3 for Windows 7 drivers" for laptop, but "Drivers ATI catalyst 10.3 for Linux" I can install with all sellers (also Toshiba).
I think Toshiba marketing strategy is very bad because Windows 7 users need to use the old drivers ATI Catalyst obsolete (modified Toshiba) but Linux allows users new drivers without limits.
If Toshiba recommends Windows 7, then do not recommend drivers ATI for Windows 7, but Toshiba does not recommend Linux but the new ATI drivers allows users without limits.

Question: I have Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAGCE notebook with dual boot 1GN: windows 7 & Ubuntu, how does it feel my gpu, if Ubuntu I use 10.3 drivers, because with fall default Ubuntu proprietary drivers, but Windows 7 I use 8.6 modified toshiba drivers?

    Thank you!

    Hi mate

As far as I know, Toshiba does not support the Linux OS and you will not find the Linux drivers for Toshiba laptops.
This means that you can use and install everything on the laptop, but there is no guarantee that this operating system and drivers work correctly and does not affect the functionality of the laptop.

  • Satellite A300-23F: would reocvery disc format my HARD drive?

I lost my windows recovery disk and ordered the recovery disc for my toshiba SATELLITE A300-23F that has windows vista.
For the moment, I have windows xp trial intalled on my laptop.
If I install windows vista from the recovery disk, it will erase all the data already on my hard drive, including partitions, or it will automatically move into diving C:

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the recovery disk would firstly format the whole HARD drive.
This means that all partition will be deleted, and that means you lose everything that was stored on the HARD drive.

Therefore, you must back up important data before you begin the recovery procedure.

  • Satellite A300-211 - what is Win 7 driver installation order

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba satellite a300 211 model (PSAGCE).
I want to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and I wanted to ask if there is a * installation order * for drivers for laptop (which goes first, second etc) after the Installation of Windows.

    Thank you!

    Hello

There is no special Mount for Win 7 command.
You simply start with the common drivers such as graphics card, LAN, WLan, touchpad etc.
Then, you must install the utilities and first of all, you should start by VAP (value added package)

    Cheers mate

  • Satellite A300-1lT - I want to restore Vista with recovery option

    Hello world

With my Toshiba nothing but problems. First of all, I waited replacement screen for months cause it wasn t all at the warehouse. K, after that I went down to XP but pilot are buggy, sound is poor, cannot get USB 2.0 to work, the system is slower that Vista so I decided to go back to Vista.

But of course, there is no DVD so I need to restore via the restoration of HARD drive folder that I have. But cool, Toshiba doesn't let me to download the utility to create a backup DVD. So what can I do? I have HDD Recovery folder, how now create DVDs without utility that first of all they gave me.

    PS.
You can say s not Toshiba fault; you did that blah blah. Of course, but first I waited replacement screen, I have original Vista DVD by wasn t given, I can't even download Toshiba utility. What sad piece of equipment. I have the experience, my first OS installed was BACK and Win95, many OS installation, after that, but I install back my OS in 2009 would not be hoping that its going to happen.

All the ideas you good ppl

Sorry mate, but in this case you need a new recovery disk. The HDD Recovery folder is not useful to you because you do not have Windows Vista and as you already know that the Toshiba recovery disc creator cannot be downloaded.

You must order a new disc of a Toshiba authorized service provider directly:

To be honest, this is not a problem of Toshiba. If you start the laptop for the first time, you get the following message and should not be ignored:

  • Recovery partition, lost the Satellite C870D

You will need to run the recovery procedure but lost the partition on the hard drive. Given that the product key is stored in the BIOS/UEFI, I wonder if I can use the iso provided by Microsoft 8.1 + drivers posted on the Toshiba site.
Is this possible or should I buy the Toshiba recovery disks?
The operating system mentioned that there is Win 8 64-bit RTM

Yes you can use the iso file and drivers available on the Toshiba download page, but you can't use the product key for activation. As far as I know this key belongs to the original recovery image that you got with your machine.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M - drive HARD recovery is not possible

    Hello.

I bought the satellite A660 - 11 M two months ago. A week before, he started to cause a problem that when turned on, boot HARD drive is not possible in the first place and boot priority option page is shown. Only after that I have reset a start command, it started.

To resolve this issue for good, I decided to format the HARD drive using the HDD recovery procedure. Unfortunately, I had to cancel this procedure after 2 minutes, and the start-up is not possible at all since then. He continues to display the message "Boot failure" etc. and staging to the BIOS screen. So, I can not access the recovery procedure even if I keep the F8 key. I am afraid that a recovery on the HARD drive partition can have been damaged due to the forced cancellation.

I have not created a DVD of my own laptop recovery, and the only option seems to buy one from Toshiba (https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx). Before you order a recovery disc, I would ask if my problem can be solved using the disc. Anyone who has experience with the recovery disc could advise me? Another question is to know if a standard warranty let me send to Toshiba ASP? Thank you for reading.

    Hello

    > Another question is to know if a standard warranty let me send to Toshiba ASP?
    Warranty only covers hardware issues.

Question you seems to be related to a software problem.
Therefore, I doubt that installation of the OS would be covered by the warranty.
You should order the recovery disk and must attempt to define the notebook back to factory settings.
Then you should check the features of the laptop.

    Good luck

  • Installation of drive HARD recovery does not start on Satellite P300-150

    I have a 2008 Satellite P300-150 I want to restore factory settings.

I followed the steps described in the manual of s to do it from the hard disk (F8 at startup), however, when I try, a screen will appear with a warning with the topic box"system recovery options"then below says "cannot start the installed program. Click ok to turn off the computer.

I don't know m which is better to do it now if someone could suggest another way to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

The situation is quite simple to explain. Recovery image installation can be done on two tracks:
-using the HARD drive recovery or
    -using the create recovery DVDs.

I put t know if you created this disk after advice from Toshiba, but if you use for the installation of operating system.

By the way: Satellite P300 works perfectly with Win7 32 bit, so if there is a way to install do. It works much better than original Vista.

If you have any other questions you are welcome. ;)

  • Need to re - install Windows, but I have no recovery partition or the Windows DVD

    Dear reader,

Recently, Windows got broken on my Toshiba Satellite L650-170.
I tried to use my backup, but backup refused my backups.

After some research, the disc seems to be in good health, but all the partitions on the drive seem to be damaged in some way.

So, I'm without a Windows disk or the recovery Partition.

How can I get Windows on my laptop using the windows key attached to it?
(A friend told me that the use of another work of won´t of windows disk 7)

    Kind regards

    Peter

    Hi Peter

If you don t have access to the original recovery partition, the question is: what do you have installed on your laptop?

If you want to have the factory settings once again, you must install OS using the original Toshiba recovery disc. You can order it on http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If you want to have clean OS install, you can use the original disc of Microsoft with the valid license code. Product key at the bottom of your laptop cannot be used for activation.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite L670 - 143 - drive HARD recovery error

    Hello

For some time, I want to reinstall my version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on my Toshiba Satellite L670-143.

Only, the problem is, whenever I try to follow the following steps:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm or
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD7C02140000R01.htm

He says that the "HDD Recovery" plan on the post of second on the first disc is missing.

    Help?

    Hey,.

To me it sounds like that HARD drive recovery files are deleted or missing then, how do you want to start the installation of HARD drive recovery?
Usually, you can do this in the advanced Windows (F8) boot menu and choose fix my computer. After loading some files, you should be able to choose the Toshiba HDD recovery option.

It it doesn t work you must have the Toshiba recovery disc but you don't create it?

  • Drive HARD recovery does not not for Satellite Pro L450D-12 x

I have a laptop that I'm fixing for a friend.
According to toshibas official specification it is than a HDD recovery partition which is hidden.

For a reason unknown to me, now the 0 (zero) key does not work. F8 does not work either and the windows system restore does not seem to get me there either.

Can someone please explain to me why this is happening?
Nobody ever touched the hard drive on the alleged recovery hidden partition which is toshibas official specs 100%...

Anyone share a few ideas with me here please

    Kind regards
    Andrew

    Hello

The HARD drive recovery partition is not hidden
In my case the image files when placed on the second partition in Toshiba HDD folder.

However, the fact is that HARD drive recovery could be launched by pressing the F8 key, and then choose the option called repair my computer and in a new window the recovery HARD drive option should be chosen.
If this is not possible, then you will need to retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk.

I guess that this disk is not created in the past. Right? You can create the disc using the recovery disk creator which is preinstalled on all Toshiba laptops.

If this is not possible, then you must order the CD here:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx
