Other portable fortunately find and connect to my router.

OS - Windows Vista

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

Did you choose the standard 802.11 b in the WLan card properties?
Check this box...

You can reach these settings go to Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab WLan card!

Here, you have to choose (enable) then 802.11 b
Please check also if the router and the wireless network adapter using the same channel!

I have a rope Ethernet connecting my cable modem to my laptop. When I plugged it in, it immediately connected my laptop to the internet. I took this same chord and plugged into my office. It connects, but I get a 'local only' connection and cannot access the internet. I tried all suggestions from windows to solve the problem. I reinstalled my network card. Hello

Is that your desktop is configured to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server? Open the local area connection properties in your office and check the properties of the Protocol ' TCp/Ipv4. Be sure that this radio button for "obtain an IP address automatically" is selected.

  • Connection Internet lost Windows 7, but not the network connection

I have exactly the same problem as the first post, I have the connection to the internal network to other computers on the network, but not internet connection. This is not related to the download but happens every time at the beginning to the top. I can fix it by disabling the network card and the reactivation, (although the "Wizard" problem does not fix it) I have an internet connection for the rest of the session. It is certainly a problem of Windows 7 and not a hardware problem, it is a clean installation on an ex Vista machine that had no problem with an internet connection. The only programs I have installed are MS Security Essentials and Photoshop. I have read through the entire thread and tried many 'solutions', but none have worked (although I have yet to try the Adobe fix, I'll try it tonight). It is hard to believe that with so much affected that MS have not corrected it yet. I used Windows on different machines of 3 Windows Vista and never had this problem before.

    Hello

On the other hand, there are Millions of computers Windows 7 works without problem too.

Because Windows 7 is a more recent version than most chipsets and drivers of several computers that are out there, it can be also some problems with the network card, or even the router.

Learn more about the manufacturer of the network adapter (or chipset so it is on board) and download the latest Win 7 drivers possible.

Update current drivers with the downloaded drivers.

You can also try to assign the card with a static IP address that is out of reach DHCP IP from the router.

  • I can't scroll through sites that I connect. something happened in mozilla firefox. It allows to work when I am connected to a Web page, but not now. all I can do is

I can't scroll through sites that I connect. something happened in Firefox Mozilla. He used to work when I am connected to a Web page, but not now. all I can do is to manipulate the page through links on the page. No sidebar to scroll or the other. It works fine in Explorer, so I know it's a problem with Firefox, also can scroll etc on pages like MSN, Yahoo, etc., but does not not using Firefox, when I connect to one Web site other than the one which is also a search engine, what happened? can you help me?

You get a pop-up window or dialog style without menu or the toolbar either? In this case:

38 of Firefox has a little problem with this combination of circumstances:

    (1) turned off tabbed browsing
    (2) viewing a page in a private window
    (3) you click on a link encoded with target = "_blank", which launches the link in a new window

The new window opens without menus, toolbar, scroll bars, etc.

Work on this bug is in progress, but I don't know if the fix will be available in the coming weeks. These are the known workarounds so you can continue using windows browsing private - one of them will work around the bug:

    (1) use tabbed browsing (there is a checkbox in Options > general > "Open new windows in a new tab instead");

    (2) shift + click the links to open in a new window with standard features. or

    (3) change a bunch of hidden settings as explained below - it will not you make changes to the way you use Firefox, but sometimes you need to enlarge some small pop-up windows that have been sized for a window with no toolbar displayed.

    # 3, here are the steps:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste feat and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) for each preference that begins with dom.disable_window_open_feature. , if it is not 'true', double-click it to true.

You may find that you prefer this anyway, given that sites can band is more these pop-up windows features.

Just restarted my computer laptop and now unable to connect to the internet.via my wireless router. Am connected to the router, but not the router to the internet. Can connect to the internet by a cable in the router to my laptop. The computer identifies the network correctly when it is wired, but shows as not identified during the use of the wireless router. Already fed the moden and router down twice, without change. other phones that I use are able to access the intwrnet via the wireless router, so I think it has to do with the system restart I just did on this laptop. • HP Photosmart 6510 series connects to the network and Internet, but not the computer.

    Hey all,.

I have a desktop H8-1228 and 6510 e - printer.  I got both products at the same time.  I did the initial installation, and everything worked perfectly.  I was able to print of my HP Touchpad (the printer was on the floor and my Touchpad was down.).  Recently, I made a trip for two weeks.  I turned off the printer.  This seems to have been a mistake.  Now, he will only contact my network and Internet, but not the computer.  The Setup program keeps telling me that it is 'Impossible to find the printer' and that he wants me to check the IP address of the printer.  I did this many times by printing the HP's Configuration Page from the printer screen.  I also used Windows "Add a printer" without success.

I have installed and uninstalled the software several times; every time that remove the icon of the printer and the Standard TCP/IP port in the "Devices and printers" section in Control Panel.  A few minutes earlier, I used Regedit to delete any reference to the series of HP Photosmart 6510 in the registry, believing that it could help my situation.  There can be no. :-(  I did the installation with the same problems that I had all the other times that I tried to install it.

No help from you the printer experts will be greatly appreciated.  I'm not a novice as you can see.  This situation, however, launched my posterior. :-))

    Hi old_geekster,

You may want to enable disable all startup programs in msconfig until you are able to access the Web integrated printer server. It seems that there is something in the communication with the printer's operating system blocking. It will most likely software firewall or security related.

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity: The HP Print and Scan doctor. HP recommend you to download and install Print and scan doctor no matter what time you need to solve a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

  • Satellite L300 - connection broadband using USB Modem Orange

Hi, I recently bought a L300-29V running Vista.

Using the installation of modem provided by Orange CD, I got to the step of connecting to the internet (speed touch medem recognized and installed the drivers), but get an error message indicating the name of username/password incorrect. However, the modem and the connection work fine on my PC using the same user name and password. There is something basic that I'm missing? Orange tech support say it's something to do with sesttings on the top of the Tower; this end one hour on their hotline!

    Thank you, Paul.

    Hi mate

I can't provide a solution for you problem because each modem supports a clean software and settings

What type of connection are you using: LAN or WLan

In your case, it is important that the TCP/IP LAN Protocol would support the right settings.
For example; the IP address must be set to obtain an IP address automatically.
In addition using the WiFi network, you should check if you have chosen the good encryption and password.

    Maybe you did?
    Check everything twice!

  • Satellite L300 - connects to Netgear N200 but no web?

    Hello

I have a NB L300/BCI about 2 years. I just got a new wireless modem under a new package of the Internet. Laptop connects fine to other networks/modems, but not this one for some reason any. Internet guys think I need a new driver update.

Any thoughts on what I need and links as to where I can get this? Thank you!

    Hello

    > Laptop connects fine to other networks/modems, but not this one
So for me the case is clear, and the problem is not the laptop, it s the new router. I mean why you need to upgrade something if you can connect to other networks?

Can you connect to the router via an Ethernet cable? If so, you can try an update of the firmware on the router and check if the router already has an Internet connection.
Perhaps WIFI should be enabled on new router until you can use it. Also, check the WLAN configuration and disable filtering of MAC addresses.

  • Satellite L300 - peripheral USB need drivers that does not exist

Satellite L300 race Win Vista 32 bit, connection of new devices (for example the card reader USB Signalex), I ask for a device driver that does not exist on the computer or on the Web and should not be necessary.

How to do this? My previous laptop under Vista did not ask this.

    Hi Greenman,

Have you tried other USB devices such as a USB or disk external DRIVE with USB interface? Normally you n t need additional drivers for most USB devices except printers for example.

More I recommend removing all the USB ports on the Device Manager and then restart the laptop.
