Recommendation addressed to additional insulation

I use the default configuration with the address just an isolation that is the default gateway.

1 should we always indicate an address of spare isolation?

2. the alternative e-mail address will always be on the same subnet as the IP address of my ESXi hosts?

TheVMinator wrote:

Thank you Duncan - so would recommend you always configure a second isolation replacement address on each host so that in the second scenario, if the master is in a situation where it is "waiting until they tell me to do something as a reaction to the response of isolation." This response of isolation is exact if in fact the address of primary isolation is down?

What importance should be placed on seen this second address isolation implemented?

I'd rather have 2 addresses of isolation configured so that if something happens to the first and you have a failure, that the second would be also be used... then again, you have to ask what is the probability it is happen too, maybe I'm just too anal to this topic

If you want to remove one of your additional e-mail addresses, click on next to the address.

  • additional graphics card

I have a HP Pavilion HPE series, the number of model h8 - 1380t.  The specifications are in the link below.  I have a PSU 460W.  I would like to replace my gt630 with a gtx770.  I know I have to upgrade my power supply.

My question is the motherboard in this cabable of model of double implemented in SLI graphics cards?

If so I would size the power supply for the SLI then instead of just the card solo, just in case I have add a second card in the future.  All recommendations regarding the additional cooling for a gtx 770 equipment would suspect that it is necessary or not?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Typical GTX770 needs 230W. Allowing 300W for all essential items except the GTX is appropriate. Then add the GTX, and you get 530W. That's why HP recommends a 600W power supply in the config it is with the HD7950, which uses only 200W.  By projecting your scenerio, you'll need more 750W. A custom player would be a better choice, built for fan kits or water cooling.

  • Conflict of IP address with amplifier

    Hello

I have a router Linksys WRT610N I try to extend the scope of the use of a Hawking HWREN1.  The router sets up very well and I am able to access the Internet from a connected PC.  When I plug in the Extender of Hawking, it configures correctly, it seems, but as soon as he saves the configuration, Windows XP on the PC tells me that there is an IP address conflict.

Hawking has suggested that a reset of the Extender and restore the installation program, I did, without success.  As soon as I unplug the power to the Extender, the error disappears, then the issue is related to the Extender.

I also tried using a completely different IP address range, affecting the router 192.168.2.2.  The PC is set to 192.168.2.201 and the Extender to 192.168.2.202, and again, I get the IP address error message.

I'm not sure how to launch other diagnoses on this matter, since at least from the looks of things, it not there no IP address conflict, though even the error message indicates that there is.  Is there something else that could cause a conflict of IP address in addition to the IP address itself, for example?  BTW, the Extender was bought on the advice of a salesperson in the store, who said that they had had the luck with the Hawkings.  Y at - it a product that is more appropriate to use Linksys.  Supposedly, the Hawking is preferable because it covers a wide variety of standards, though it is not double band as the router.  I have not seen dual band autour Extenders.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Ron

If you get these error mesasge on your computer, these means your two computers get the same IP address of the router. Avoide these error message, you can assign a static IP address to your wired computer.

Follow the settings below on your XP computer. Click the Start button > settings > Panel > Network Connections - right click on the icon for the local area network connection and go to properties - in the "Général" tab select "TCP/IP Internet Protocol" and click on the properties button - select "use IP address following" - provide the IP - 192.168.1.5 subnet mask - 255.255.255.0, default gateway - 192.168.1.1 - favorite DNS 192.168.1.1, auxiliary DNS - 4.2.2.2 > click the Ok button to save and click 'Close' on the main properties window.

Now, check if you are online from your computer, and I think that should solve your problem.

  • How to make a call using the ip address

Hello! I'm very new to telepresence system and wanted to know about calls of one endpoint (Te MX300) to another (Fe SX20) using their IP addresses (public or private). I saw in the configuration guide they make calls through IDs or URIS, and they need to guard/SIP proxy for that, but how can we establish the connection through their ip addresses without additional devices, of the right endpoints?

    Thank you

    Hi Zhomart,

I assume you want to directly (without using the gatekeeper) call the other end points using the IP addresses.

    It's very simple.

Use the remote control and punch in the IP address that you want to dial, make sure you only select as a H323 Protocol.

The composed IP address should also be accessible.

    Kind regards

  • IP address of server blades management

    Hello

Could someone please help me know which path is followed to reach the ip addresses of the server blade chassis management? To be more precise, to say that I have the management interfaces of interconnections connected to the switch network management of my fabric. When I ping addresses it ip of the blades, that ping through the management interface of the FIs management? Can I assign different subnet IP subnet Management Server as the FI management interfaces?

Also, could someone share a document illustrating this architecture?

    Thank you

    Quesnel

    Hi Quesnel

Let's be very clear: IP address management blade = IP address of the MMIC, you can for example. access by the KVM.

    There are 2 modes:

    - out of band which is accessible on port 1 G of the interconnection of fabric management

    - in the band which is accessible via a fabric interconnect 10 G uplink interface

    See the discussion in

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/12185011/management-blades-OU...

    Management in-band MMIC

A determinant to provide access management in-band for integrated management Cisco (CIMC) controller is the desire to separate traffic treated tenant provider cloud for service provider deployments shared, public or private. Out of band (OOB) management traffic is at the fabric of interconnections and cross management via the management port. This has the potential to cause bottlenecks and affect the bandwidth of the processor in the management ports.

In-band management allows MMIC traffic to take the same path as the data traffic into and out of the fabric of interconnections via the uplink ports. The highest bandwidth available to the uplink ports means that inband access greatly accelerates the management traffic and reduced risk of bottlenecks and the stress of CPU. When out of band (OOB) and inband address pools can be configured for access to the administration in Cisco's UCS Manager. Out-of-band access only supports IPv4 addresses. Access inband supports IPv4 addresses and IPv6, which allows a management single or double stack.

The two addresses of OOB management interface that can be configured in Cisco UCS Manager blade and rack servers are:

    • An OOB IPv4 address assigned to the physical server via the pool global ext-mgmt
    • An address IPv4 OOB derived from a service associated with the physical server profile

In addition, up to four inband management interface addresses can be configured:

    • A tape attributed to the physical server IPv4 address
    • An IPv4 address of inband derived from a service associated with the physical server profile
    • An IPv6 address band attributed to the physical server
    • An IPv6 address of inband derived from a service associated with the physical server profile

Several in-band for each server management IP addresses take additional sessions of CIMC. When you configure the OOB, and strip addresses, users can choose from a list of these addresses in the KVM Console dialog box when they launch KVM from a server, SSH to the ground, a service profile, the KVM Launch Manager or Cisco UCS Manager GUI web URL.

MMIC inband access supports the following services:

    • KVM console

    • SSH to MMIC for soil

    • vMedia of ISO, virtual CD/DVD, removable disk, floppy drive

    Note

Only Cisco UCS M3 and M4 servers support access in-band MMIC. Access Inband MMIC for Cisco UCS M1 and M2 servers is not supported.

    Hello

First, make sure you have the latest firmware installed as follows:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-series---N911/4322915/model/4323647/document/c02919168/

    Then, try the following:

    1. Of the printer, click on the right arrow / left and press the ion of the configuration of the printer.
    2. Select Network Configuration.
    3. Select direct Wireless Configuration.
    4. Ensure the Direct wireless is enabled and take one step of his password if such a value.
    5. Click on the WiFi icon from your Mac and connect to the SSID 8600 spirit "live / Print" in its name.
    6. Go to System Preferences > print and scan and click on the plus sign to add the printer - you see it listed as Hello via the direct wireless connection?

Please let me know the results, if it not listed as Hello with Direct wireless, which clearly show that the new router interrupts the multicast connection, this is the same as the connection through a different router.

On your screenshot, it seems that your router do not transfer packets to multicast to the need...

  • General question about DHCP network configuration

In the past, I've always set up printers on network with a static IP address. With the proliferation of networked printers and progress in the printer driver software, I wonder if the static configuration is always recommended and necessary.

Let's say I have install an Officejet 6500 wireless printer configured for DHCP and it gets an address 192.168.1.7. To continue, the printer driver is installed on the computers all networked and the printer port is listed as HPxxx192.168.1.7. After a break from running, say that the address assigned dynamically changes printer 192.168.1.5, leading to the question... to will the computers still be able to print to the printer who has now a new IP address? Basically, is the intelligent print driver so that he will direct the print jobs to the new address without additional configuration? (perhaps the answer varies depending on the printer model and the operating system of the client)

I have installed HP network printers on a regular basis in a variety of operating system environments. So the question in more specific general. I don't feel a particular problem at this stage. But when I configure network printers in the future, an answer to the question will be useful.

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on.  On older printers a static IP address is very important on the latest not so much. It is really dependent on the platform on which rests the HP software.  HP printers currentlyon market, in theory, do not need static IP addresses.

In addition, when you set a static IP address, I always put one outside DHCP pool.  If the range is the range (.2 a.254) I reduced the scope and then put printers outside the pool.  This way there is never any conflict.

  • Problem using Mr Fixit

I used Mr Fixit from Microsoft to reset my default hosts file and now there is no Hosts file in C:/windows/drivers/etc/my browsers work. What should I do?

Thanks PML. This discussion is useful. The Hosts file FAQ is not very useful.

If the hosts on 135kb files are bad, why the MVP recommend a 608 kb?

The hosts file, kidnapped by Mr Fixit has been 407KO. Wouldn't that one be better than the biggest MVPS hosts file?

How can I reverse the changes made by Mr Fixit from Microsoft Support? I tried the system restore, but it did not work. Is there anyway that I can use the hosts.old file?

Also shouldn't you or someone tell Microsoft that is hosts by default file reset program is defective and remove the hosts file?

Finally, your best judgment. I would be better to use the huge MVPS hosts file? What features I'll lose by disabling services.msc, as recommended?

Additional questions. What is the hosts.*.backup? (* indicates an alphanumeric string.) What was the purpose of the 86 hosts.*.backup files that I deleted? A BAK file is similar to a backup file? What is the difference? Can I use the backup file to re-create the hosts file?

I do not use a file hosts at all, so I can't answer from personal experience.  However, it is not the size of the hosts file that is important, it is what is in it.  Point entries in any "anti-malware" hosts file (there may be other reasons to use a hosts file, but anti-malware is most common for individuals) is to deal with HTML code hidden on a web page which redirects the web browser to an unwanted site.

Suppose that someone has written a webpage so that when get you there, it tells your browser to www.stealmyidentity.com.  If someone ' one - as the people who compiled the MVPS hosts file - aware of this site and puts an entry in hosts like this
    127.0.0.1 www.stealmyidentity.com
When the HTML code is executed, your browser will then the IP address 127.0.0.1 instead of the IP address of the wrong site.  127.0.0.1 is the IP address of 'closure' of your computer (which is why the logo at the top of web page MVPS hosts said "There is no place like 127.0.0.1").

Thus, you can't compare your old hosts file 407KO with the hosts of MVP 608 kb file and say that the first one was "better".  No, it's probably not best, because it lists less "bad" sites.

I know not the details of why a leader hosts more than 135 k could slow things down, but given that 407KO is so much greater than 135 k, I guess that from a performance point of view, 407 kb is not much better than 608KO either.  And in any case, MVP web page gives you a procedure to deal with this potential to slow down.  And you're not disable services.msc - you use services.msc to disable the DNS Client service.  Note also that the definition of a service on 'manual' is not the same as 'off '.  Defining a service to "Manual" just will not start the service until something he needs.

I suggest to use the MVPS hosts file and set the DNS Client service on 'manual' as suggested.  If this is a problem, you can just go back to the default hosts file and set the Client DNS service on 'automatic', which is the default value.

You seem to be correct only the Microsoft FixIt routine (in the future, remember to identify the Knowledge Base article that includes the FixIt you speak because Microsoft has a lot of different routines "FixIt") does not quite what it says it will do.  What routine FixIt seems to do is rename the file hosts in hosts.old.  This brings the system to what I recall is the State of the default system - no hosts file at all.  If you want then the hosts 'default' file, you copy the example of hosts (hosts.sam) file to a new file named simply hosts (with no file extension).

In this case, a file *.backup or master is just the previous hosts.  It seems as if you were using a service that regularly gave you a new hosts file.  Rather than simply replacing your existing with a new hosts file, this service renamed your current file and then created a new.  There is no good reason to keep 86 versions old what whatsoever.

To "recreate" the hosts.old hosts, hosts.bak file host.backup or hosts.backup75 file, just rename to remove the file extension.  You can watch one of these files in the notebook, but because the file extension is not txt, when you double-click a master file or use 'open with', you will get the dialog box asking you to select the program to open the file in the list.  Simply choose the notebook and're you good to go.
