Recovery system files - how to recover programs and files?

Thanks for reading this post.

I had to perform a recovery using F11, that my system would not initialize. Constantly, he'd say he was restartin with it turns ping pong balls, but would not load.  Why it crashed is useless at this point.

I run Windows 8.1 and uses a HP15 f039wm.

I saved my backup files before continuing the recovery.

As it is now the USB that was copied in my office has a folder named "System Recovery Files.

There is no .exe file I can locate in the breast.

More precisely my concerns are two: 1) I bought a subscription to Avast and wonder if I can reinstll, don't know where my license key is but could probably contact Avast.  (2) I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and have the emails and contacts from a variety of e-mail accounts and one account in particular I no longer have access to.

The $64 000 question is: can I get these programs works again with what I saved?

The issue of $99 or $14.99 per month over $ 35.00, fresh installation is, should I contact HP AND they would be able to fix if here, nothing works?

Thanks in advance and I thank you for anyone who can help on Thanksgiving.

You cannot reinstall programs from a backup. They must be reinstalled fresh. You may be able to save the backup of certain data related to programs.

    Hi Apmech9,

    1. don't you restore the computer to factory settings?
    2. do you just restore the computer to an earlier time by using the system restore feature in Windows XP?

If you restore the computer to its factory settings, you will then get in touch with the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

If you had just restored the computer to an earlier time using System Restore, you can undo the system restore to revert back the changes.

  • Dual boot, how to transfer programs and files from one XP installation to another?

Due type virus problems and the inability to get things working properly after I finally removed them, I tried to repair windows xp by using the disc that came with the computer (Systemax). Apparently, I managed to rInstaller windows xp pro with the new version under windows.0 and the old version under windows. The new windows.0 boots and is beautifully, and I can find with my old programs and data files. Unfortunately, none of the old programs seem to be accessible. I can reinstall most of them, but what a chore. I can not even the old windows at startup (it literally takes over half an hour) and many programs take a long time to come, if they. Virtually unusable.

What can I do to have access to the previous programs using the new installation of windows xp pro, so I can simply remove the old windows entirely or at least not do it as an option whenever I start.

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that you have made a parallel installation on the system (installed a new operating system on the same partition), we recommend only if a person has to back up files/data that is present on the system.

You cannot transfer programs in this way and we do not recommend you to have two operating systems on the same partition. I suggest you to save files which and records that are important and then do a format clean installation of Windows XP on the system.

Unfortunately, you need to install the programs on the system in order to to use.

I suggest you to check the article mentioned below.

  • How reinstall individual programs and users accounts after recovery of Windows 7?

    Hello

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I have problems, have tried all the options and want to do a recovery system of the C: drive as a last resort before taking the computer home.

I used the Backup and Restore to back up my C: drive as a whole (including the image of the system in case where something goes wrong) on an external drive, but I've never used, backup and restore. I'm not sure if she actually re - installed programs or just moves them. I don't have a disk for my suite Office 2007 so I can't reinstall it it will be lost (unless I used the image of the system, of course).

Can you tell me if yes or no backup and restore will actually reinstall Office, and if so, how do I do?

Also, I have 2 user accounts on the computer. Can back up and restore reinstall all the accounts of individual users?

    Thank you for your time.

The new computer will come with Windows (for example, Win10) preinstalled?

    • A restore an image.
    • An image created on the computer may not be fully compatible with computer B A.
    • The only way to do a clean install of an application is using the original installation media (unless the application is preinstalled on the computer in question).

Hi Lynnsian22! Please use this forum :)

You must make the system restore to go back to the games.

    Follow these steps:

    1) click Start and in the search type: restore or rstrui or search in the menu start the voice of system restore (Accessories-> system tools)
    (2) now, click on "choose a different restore point.
    (3) choose a date before you deleted the games
    (4) now confirm and your pc will restart

If you want to get the best results, do Safe Mode.

I think with this, you can retrieve games :)
