Redundancy of WebEx servers

Hello

just want to know how many servers HA can be added to the primary server Webex?

There is no mechanism to add the second HA. When you allow high availability on CWMS, will be asked to the IP address of the host and the virtual machines, and you COMPLETE domain name have fields only for a single entry supported. Once added HA, you cannot add another system HA to the solution.

You can find more information about adding HA CWMS here:http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/2_5/Administration_Guide/Administration_Guide/Administration_Guide_chapter_0111.html

I hope this helps.

  • FQDNs for ESX environment when DNS servers are VMS within the ESX environment

    Hello

    I was wondering,

When the implementation of a new infrastructure from scratch, with an ESX cluster from scratch

and when the servers DNS themselves will run inside the cluster,

Then, it is advisable to use IP addresses instead of the domain name COMPLETE for the right ESX environment?

Here's what I've done so far:

    -installed 1 ESX host

    -installed donain controller as VM

    -installed PSC and VCSA

    -created the new cluster

-installed the second ESX host, added to the cluster.

I installed a VM DC as the first thing after the installation of the initial ESX host, I could have started using the domain name COMPLETE for the ESX environment at this time.

    However, I didn't do it.

For installation of the VCSA and when you add ESX hosts to the cluster, I used IP addresses instead of the FQDN names.

It seems stupid and dangerous for me to use domain COMPLETE the ESX hosts themselves, because the domain controller is running in the cluster.

So I used IP addresses only to ensure the ESX HA cluster and the characteristics of heartbeat stay ok if something were to happen to the DNS server.

However, the VCSA installation and when you add hosts to the cluster,.

the MISTLETOE gave me a warning, indicating that it is preferable to provide a FULL domain instead of an IP address name.

I am of the opinion that if you have no physical DNS servers, it is not a good idea.

My opinion is that when your nameservers inside the ESX cluster itself and you do not have 2 redundant external DNS servers, so it is not wise to use the FQDN for your ESX hosts, PSC and VCSA setup.

In my view, using the property intellectual property is much safer in this case.

I was wondering what is your angle on it.

Do you see the same way, or have different opinions?

    Hi smetter,.

It is advisable to have a working DNS for vSphere environment however the use of DNS for things like vSphere HA have been removed in more recent versions of the product. Refer to the section of the guidelines of the general network of this document for more details: https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmw-vsphere-high-availability.pdf

With this in mind I wouldn't be worried about use of FULL domain for the addition of services like the ESX host, etc.. Failure where HA would be restarting the virtual computer, there is no dependency on DNS so it will continue to work as expected and, subject to the availability of resources the virtual machine starts on another host.

According to your vSphere licenses, you may also like to consider the implementation of anti-affinity DRS VM to keep your DNS Appart servers and on different hosts. This can prevent your servers DNS are declining when the failure of a host. You must have Enterprise edition or later for this.

    Kind regards.

  • CWMS and WeTP simultaneously

    Hello

We have a customer that deploys a solution of telepresence on premises which include (Unified 10.5 CM, MSD 14.6, vTS 4.1 3.0 XC, X8.5 EXP-C/E and CWMS 2.5). A new requirement came they want to allow endpoints SX80 & MX700 to lead a meeting of the Conference with Webex servers. AFAIK WebEx on cloud need to be enabled.

I have a few questions that I would like to ask some questions:

1 - since I was using a certain domain name (e.g. xyz.com) local CMWS, then I activate Webex on cloud using the same domain name, so I had two premises on and the cloud. If this is not the case, how the solution would be in this case?

    2. that I would be able to integrate TMS, vTS, conductor and EXP-C/E with WebEx on Cloud (WeTP)

3 - What is the advantages that may be available in WebEx on cloud existed only not in CWMS in case customer has decided to use only WebEx on cloud?

    4. What are the features that would be lost if changing the current local solution for including all the WebEx and telepresence solution on the clouds?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regrads,

    AMR Sheriff

    Hi Amr,

I'll try to answer your question:

1 - since I was using a certain domain name (e.g. xyz.com) local CMWS, then I activate Webex on cloud using the same domain name, so I had two premises on and the cloud. If this is not the case, how the solution would be in this case?

The Webex on the Cloud, the URL for web conferencing is usually . webex.com, while CWMS usually has a URL such as Webex.CompanyDomain.com. There is therefore no possibility to have conflict. You can have conflicts with Webex on cloud's ARM running in a public domain which is in the public domain even recorded with the webex account. This is because Jabber also questioned Webex trying to save with auto-discovery, as Webex Menssenger service is available for Jabber.

    2. that I would be able to integrate TMS, vTS, conductor and EXP-C/E with WebEx on Cloud (WeTP)

Yes. As CWMS has no integration with the environment of telepresence.

3 - What is the advantages that may be available in WebEx on cloud existed only not in CWMS in case customer has decided to use only WebEx on cloud?

In my opinion, the main difference is the ability to integrate your existing Webex telepresence system. WebEx on Cloud usually provides most of the important features available on CWMS.

    4. What are the features that would be lost if changing the current local solution for including all the WebEx and telepresence solution on the clouds?

For this particular question, I suggest you to contact your representative local Cisco, since it is rather a technical commercial subject. My personal opinion is that Webex on cloud has everything users need for web meetings.

  • ICPPX 4.05 and/or call Mgr 4.13 multiple LDAP servers for redundancy

We run IPCCX 4.05 to high availability (active / standby) and Call Manager 4.13 Pub/Sub. In this configuration, we use LDAP for authentication AD instead of the directory of DC (not my choice... things you inherit in life).

The call of Bishop and/or the servers IPCCX can be setup to point to multiple LDAP servers for redundancy?

CAN CM 4.13 and/or IPCCX 4.05 LDAPS support (as I have said, things you inherit)?

Our sysadmin team won our main server to the DC, and with him all functins LDAP search broke. Needless to say they will be put in place of LDAP or LDAPS on our main and backup DC in the near future.

    Any information/suggestions/recommendatinos are appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Scott

    Hello

    This IS possible.

If the CRS web interface admin (/ appadmin) is available:

    1. open a session

    2. go to the system > LDAP information

3 type the FQDN / IP addresses (I recommend the latter) for LDAP servers, separated by commas (for example, I have something like in our laboratory: "ldapserver.domain.as, 10.1.1.1" - works like charm)

    4. a window will appear asking if the LDAP information must be created or you just want to add another LDAP server (~ configuration already there). Choose wisely :-)

    5. restart the server. No, restart the CRS engine is not enough.

If the CRS web administration interface is not available (~ as you said Mr. Sysadmin won DC backend), the there is a chance to get rid of this guy ;-) Anyway, there is always a chance that you can make it work. Of course, the LDAP server must already contain the appropriate configuration.

    1. connect to the CRS Server using rdesktop/VNC

    2. look for this file: C:\Program Files\wfavvid\properties\directory.properties it's just a plain text file. Look for this CCNIniFile=c:\\winnt\\system32\\ccn\\ccndir.ini

In fact, it can be something else too, this is the default path.

    3. this file contains the information that we are looking for: LDAPURL 'ldap://10.1.1.1:389, ldap://10.1.1.2:389' and other important things like passwords and base DN

Change it according to your needs. :-)

    4. restart the server.

    Good luck.

  • Setting up authentication with two servers (not redundant) authentication

What I'm trying to do is to test a new authentication server, while disturbing is not the service for the current server already in place.

I would like to test remote access to the network.

Currently, I use a 5510 ASA that is configured to use a server RSA for authentication.

I want to configure ASA to also use a RADIUS server for another form of authentication, without impact on the current RSA authentication.

I found this topic which deals with something similar:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/10849371/two-RADIUS-server-1-...

but it seems to imply that you can only configure two servers if they use two different protocols, so I think that this would not work in my case?

Could someone clarify if what I want to do is possible?

    Hello

You need to change the configuration for remote users.

You can create another tunnel-group as well as political group and for this tunnel-group, you can use the newly created servers RADIUS group.

    tunnel-group Test-new type remote access
    tunnel-group Test-new general-attributes
    vpn address pool
    Group- Radius-new group authentication server

    authorization-server-group Radius-new group
    accounting-server-group Radius-new group
    default-"new-policy-created" group policy

When users connect to this tunnel-group, they will be authenticated and authorized against "RADIUS-news-group.

    I hope this helps!

  • How do I create redundant (or mirrored) virtual servers?

    Here's the senerio:

I have a server VMWare ESX 4.1.0 6 virtual servers (we'll call this server A server).

I recently bought a new 4.1.0 ESX Server and it is running 1 VM (we'll call this server server B).

Server is running out of disk space, while I pass some of these virtual servers to server b (this isn't a problem, I know how to do this)

    My question is:

1.75 TB of space Server B has 2 stores of data DS1 and DS2 has 930 GB of space

I want to spend most of the virtual servers of the server A to DS2 on server B then have these updated virtual servers mirrored on DS1 on server B, so that if there is a problem with the server mirroed on DS1 DS2 will take over and continue to run. I also want to reflect that I leave on A DS1 server on server B.

Is this possible? If so, how should I do? Thank you

If you have shared the infrastructure between the two you could use Fault Tolerance.

  • 2012 server redundancy

Hmmm, I'm a little confused that I don't see any option for this post in forum windows server 2012.

In any case, I have a few questions about creating a backup for an all-in-one server. The server has active directory, DNS, file server, and everything on it. I am trying to create a configuration of redundancy in case of failure. While I was reading on the failover clusters and this seems to be what I need to do. I'm just a little confused.
When I create a cluster and add servers to it, what happens exactly? For the simplest case instance, I have the main server with all the data. Now, I bring to another machine with nothing on it. I have install windows server 2012 on it and add, as well as the other computer in a cluster. The main server data automatically copied on all servers that are part of this group? At this point if a server goes down the other to take over?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Problems of redundancy PowerConnect 7048

Hello! I recently put in place a network I have a problem with and need someone to go through my configs of switch and tell me if they see something that I did wrong.

The network consists of a blade M1000 - filled completely, Equalogic 2, 2 Powerconnect 7048 and 2 Powerconnect 8024-K (inside of the blade). I have everything configured for redundancy. Each server blade has 4 NIC, two are for iSCSI traffic and the other 2 are for virtual machine network traffic.

The 7048 are stacked. I got everything is configured so I can unplug all four NICS (one at a time) on a blade, and the server will remain connected to storage and the network of the VM. I can also 2 (one at a time) 8024 switch K to shoot, and servers will be connected for the storage and the network of the VM. However, when I unplug one of the 7048 s 2, or the other, I lose the storage and access to the VM network, these all the network goes down. There is a lag configured for the uplink of the 7048 to a Meraki switch, so I should be able to always pass traffic, but the network is down.

Attached are the configs of switch and a Visio diagram, I hope that someone can choose the problem immediately. My goal is a total redundancy, so when I lose a 7048 network remains standing. Thanks in advance!

  • REDUNDANCY OF TMS

    Hello

One of our customers is to have a primary site and the recovery for the conferencing site. They are planning to implement redundant VC a componnents like VCS, conductor, MCU and TMS.

I need your expert opinion in the deployment of the TMS in the main Site and recovery Site scenario.

Primary site and recovery Site is in a totally different network. We cannot extend the primary IP address on the site of DR. Because of this redundant components will have the IP address to a different subnet.

    TMS Server A: 10.10.10.10

TMS Server B DR Site: 10.20.20.20

DNS A record for TMS server is tms.example.com--> 10.10.10.10

I checked the options for redundancy of TMS, as shown in the link.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/TMS/config_guide/Cisco_TMS_Server_Redundancy_Config_Guide_13-0.PDF

Fully redundant use the concepts of the load balancer.

    I have the following questions.

1 could you please let me know what load balancer can be used for redundancy of TMS solution considering the IP address of the MSDS are in different subnets.

    2. in several servers, manual failover option, if the failure of the principal server will we use 10.20.20.20 address IP Cisco TMS Server Local IPv4 address and update the DNS record to point to 10.20.20.20.

    Krishna.

    Option a.

I would not recommend an A DNS record pointing at a time... since it is essentially a round robin... which means that if DC 1 is down, you will get a search on the second, it will just fail. Therefore, I would recommend you do is just enter a DNS record for the DC 1 TMS and if you get a failure on DC 1, then simply go to DNS and to update IP address for this record to the DC 2 TMS.

    Option B

No, you don't want to do this, i.e. Add the EPs for the two TMS initially. You only want to add systems to the DC 1 TMS... which means a TMS db to "govern together." And that's why your "asynchronous mirroring ' the TMS of DC db SQL to CC 1 2 SQL." And specify "async mirrroring in SQL", when you set the "async mirroring" in SQL, a db is 'active', while the other is "passive". That's why on the DC 2 TMS all services of TMS needs for people with reduced mobility because it cannot connect to the TMS SQL db (tmsng), which is passive. And with "async mirrored" on and how often you 'mirror', the basics of data will actually be the same.

At the end of the day, the deployment is not that big (20 systems) so all this may seem "exaggerated", but it is the approach to 2 x installation DC... unless of course you virtualize everything and go Nick road, i.e. the Group OTV and strecthed.

  • ISA570 redundancy

The ISA570 supports similar to HSRP routers cisco redundancy?  I know not given it is a device of small business is probably not a solution.  But, I thought I would ask, since we have two ISA570, is not. • Important: Redundancy lost for BE6K UCS C220 M3S PSU_REDUNDANCY

    Hello team,

We have several deployments based on servers UCS C220 M3 (the famous BE6K) UA.

I'm not derived from systems, I'm a guy of the voice.

In fact, the UCS BE6K C220 M3 comes by default with a single power supply.

However, in the MMIC, we find many times that an alert is triggered for the redundancy of power and the system LED turns into continuous light.

Here's the warning: PSU_REDUNDANCY: PS redundancy sensor, redundancy Lost said

We do not understand why this alert is triggered when we already know that the BE6K server contains only a power supply?

What is a real problem or a false alarm?

    How we clear this alert?

In fact the system LED is orange isn't bodes well from the perspective of the customer. As well as when let us it stay in the State of the orange light, we would be not only a more serious problem (and real) can happen?

    The MMIC version is: 1.5.4f

    Please notify.

Unfortunately not (that I know) but if you go to loopholes in the Server tab, you should be able to view a summary of alerts and check what is happening.

If it is useful, please rate... If it answers your question, please mark as well for future users.

  • Redundancy of RADIUS in IOS config

    Hello

I need to implement servers Radius (ISE PSN) failover/redundancy on switches Cisco 4 radius servers. We have no dedicated load balancers in use. As far as I understand there are two options in IOS:

    1. use "radius server retry reorganize method" in IOS
2 using the load balancing feature integrated IOS ' method load-balance-server radius less outstanding.

The question is what is the advisable to use it in case of ISE? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
    Thank you!

As long as you have all of your ISE servers configured in the n and they are all synced, you should be good to go. I made many deployments of ISE and never had to use one of the commands you listed.

That being said, if the "radius server balance the load method allows less pending" If you want to try to share the load between the servers of the ISE.

    I hope this helps!

  • IPSEC & LDAP servers

    My topology is:

Cisco routers must open two IPSEC tunnels after registration with a certification authority and must be able to query CRL on two LDAP servers on separate LANs.

I tried to configure two request of CRL url, but after inserting the first, the second overwrites the first.

How can I configure multiple LDAP servers on a cisco router?

I know that in the certificate, there is a field called DP (Point of Distribution) in which I can put the addresses of several LDAP servers.

A cisco router is able to recognize the DP field in a certificate? And then I follow this path as a workaround?

The version used in the laboratory is 12.2 (13) T1

Yes, Cisco routers include the field Point of Distribution, the problem is that multiple entries are only used as a redundancy.

If according to the distribution point the first certification authority is 10.0.0.1 and the server is down for some reason, it checks the backup entry as appropriate.

  • Redundancy of the TMS with TMSXE

    Hi team,

Since there is no redundancy of each device as VCS, MCU. I want to ask about a redundancy of MSDS on a virtual server-based computer.

How can we create a redundancy of MSDS on server VM.

Currently, my client bought only Cisco's TMS software and is installed on the server of the virtual computer. They would create a redundancy of TMS in case of TMS first down.

Also, tell me if the first TMS license can be put on the 2nd TMS?

And how wud it work with TMSXE?

    Apprecite your answer.

    Hi karim and Martin.

We have released a brand new redundancy TMS 13.2 deployment guide a few days ago. The old man is very old and obsolete; Please pretend that there is not. The document should answer questions of karim.

TMSXE and redundancy: we come through a long series of tests TMSXE 3.0.1 with a load-balanced solution TMS (two TMS servers behind a Cisco ACE 4710 appliance). Some time in the near future, we will add to the official documentation of TMSXE that this installation has been tested and is supported by Cisco.

  • Redundancy ASA - Client to the remote access (AnyConnect or IPsec) VPN Cisco to 2 PSI

    Hello

I realize that the true public access redundancy require routers and BGP need &AS#; but some can't afford such a solution.  Should someone have ASA 5510 dry + with 2 of the ISP could use IP SLA functionality for primary education to save the failover, etc..  What VPN clients for remote access (SSL or IPSec).  I'm curious if you have any other solutions/configurations on it to allow either of these customers, AnyConnect or IPsec, to try the primary counterpart and after a few failed attempts over fail to backup (even if a user tries to establish a VPN)?  I know that one of the possible solutions may use a domain name FULL peer IPSec or AnyConnect client input, then maybe public operator DNS TTL change or other hosted / failover services... but these "proxy" or DNS services are not the best solution because there is cache and other associated DNS weaknesses (right)?  These are not infallible fail-over, I'm sure that some users might succeed and some may fail; I do not know administrators will be like that as much as they like going to the dentist.

Anyone who has any ideas or possible solutions?

    Thank you.
