Regionalization

Hi Ciara_B,

I bought a HP Deskjet 1050 all-in - One Printer - J410 - J411 of the United States in 2011. The printer is now used by my father in India. He needed to change the cartridges, and he bought the compatible cartridges for the product available in India. After installing new cartridges, he started getting the incompatible cartridge error message. I sent you a private message to this topic earlier.

It has been more than 3 weeks I'm looking for a support of HP in India customer support, more emails. Initially they sent me the steps to perfom regionalization reset. They have generated some codes for the printer. I did the exact measurements, that he did not. They generated again some new codes the 2nd time, but it did not work. I tried the steps 3 - 4 times every time that they have generated new codes.

Then Customer Support wanted to do it by phone, they made contact with my father, and tried to do the reset, it did not work. It suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the printer once. We did it, but again to no avail. Whenever I have contact with them, now they say that the issue was referred to the relevant team. It happened once they called my father once, but it was not available at the time of answer, after that they didn't call back. If my father calls the customer support, it's never through, it is always kept on waiting.

I understand they could work on it, but unfortunately, we see no progress. It has been more than a month, the printer is useless and we lose hope, that it can be used again.

Can you please address the issue so that we see some progress?

Thanks for your help.

You will need to Contact HP to ask a "regionalization Reset." Do not charge for this, it is covered under the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to have access to your computer and printer then on line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works.  Webpage of HP on the subject is here.

Only a limited number of officers is formed for regionalization reset, you will need to ask to speak to an agent with adequate training.

Do you have a case ID?  It would be a long number possibly indicating with 8.

  • Regionalization Reset - Photosmart B110

Recently moved to Europe, the Middle East, with my HP Photosmart Wireless e-All - in - One B110b.  Old cartridges (HP178) failed, but when I put the European counterparts in (HP364) I received a message 'Incompatible Ink. "

Contacted HP cat online for a 'Reset regionalization. "  First, they insisted that I print a 'test 10 - tap' with the old cartridges (impossible since they were empty).  Then they sent me to say that the reset of the region was not possible on the B110.

Fake!  When I talked to HP UK - where I bought cartridges, although I live in France - Telephone (0844 369 0369) they said that, I still had the old cartridges (although they would not), they could get the required information in the menu of supported printer.

With their help, entered in the support menu using the following sequence on the printer homescreen (top left-top right upper left-upper left).  Then provided the following information from various menus: printer serial number, number of pages, number series ink cartridge (black, cyan, yellow, magenta), scheme of grouping/scramble.  Then, they gave me a few codes to enter a special menu. Success!

Thank you very much Bob Headrick (on this forum) and Peter in Newcastle (HP UK Support) for their help.

I'm glad that your problem has been solved .

  • Print a page of test before regionalization resets. Old ink or ink cartridges new cartridges?

My wife bought a HP Deskjet F2492 in Italy while attending school there.  She needs to get a regionalization reset for US, ink cartridges, now that she is back in the United States.  She has US cartridges and gets a message "incompatible cartridge" with lights flashing when they are installed.  With the US cartridges in the printer, the button cancel and pressing the launch button color print at the same time does not print a test page (it works with the European, but not the US cartridges cartridges).

I understand that the procedure is to run a test page and obtain the codes corresponding to the 11, 21, 52, 62. and 25.  Then contact HP that will calculate the numbers that must be entered in 5 fields on a dialog box that opens when you double-click on the blue HP logo in the window of the print preferences (Windows 7).

It's true that we run the test with the new page WE cartridges in the printer to get valid codes (we were led to believe that this was the case)?  If so, how actually print us a test page with the US cartridges since the method described above does not work?

    Thank you for your help.

The test page can be printed with the cartridges 'old '.  You will need to Contact HP to ask a "regionalization Reset."  I suggest that you do this before you worry about the details of what to print, the agent will take you through the process. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works.  Webpage of HP on the subject is here.

  • HP support don't know how to reset regionalization, now what?

I buy a powered OfficeJet 4620 in Germany in February 2013.

NOWHERE in the documentation of the product he mentions the ink cartridges are regionalised (defeats the purpose of even making a 110-220v device! But I digress).

I moved to Florida in June and yesterday my black ink starts to run out.

The needs of the 'regionalisation' Reset printer that cannot be performed by HP support, as indicated by their own Web page:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02558798

    Another description of him here:

    http://www.FixYa.com/support/t156381-change_region_code_ink_cartridges

I call HP support and waste an hour and a half with a girl in the Philippines until finally, she tells me that I need a complete set of USA ink cartridges in order to perfom the procedure (which seems to be not true, you do not need to reset the printer, but rather, it seems, you need simply if you want to print anything after the reset was carried out) (, if for no other reason but to check that the reset was successful). She claims the HP support call me this morning at 23:00 they did not.

I call HP "Support" at 1130 EST and go through the wickets with them again. This time the girl does not know what to do and is clearly completely ignorant about the fuzzy product less how to solve, and instead she's just following a script. Another wasted hour. After having been put on hold for the 4th or 5th time 15 minutes, I just hang up. (Realization later that it is a deliberate strategy).

I give the floor again. Now I am taking the floor to a guy in India. He doesn't know what he's done and tries to guide me in the menu of support on the printer itself, but his scenario does not match the list of printer options. Back at intervals of 15 minutes waiting interrupted by him by saying: "one minute Please Sir while I check some information." Another hour lost, until I'm finally starting to realize that none of these people know what to do.

I always call back and get another guy who leads me on the Help menu (press the button back 4 times to access this menu). I have go to the reports Menu and select the 'mech button tape printing' option, which prints a page 2 print "printer hardware. He asks me to "give him the numbers on the document, but the document has all kinds of numbers on that of serial numbers for the product numbers to other numbers with labels that are simply abbreviations. I ask him what are the numbers he needs of the two pages full of numbers and return pending I'm going for 20 minutes. He comes back and says "the long number, there should be a long number. Well the long number on the document is the serial number that I have already given during questioning initial information he did and if I ask him if he needs it again. Return pending, I go for another 20 minutes. Now the 15-20 minute hold cycle resumes, with him "check something" and he "will be immediately. Eventually he clicks just to see if I'm still on the line and immediately puts me on hold without saying anything. I put my phone on speaker, and I him wait outside, having already lost an entire morning and half my afternoon.

However, it was the best part... HE BEGINS to PRETEND LIKE THERE IS of HAVING of PROBLEMS of MICROPHONE AND CANNOT HEAR ME (yes I know, must it do with hear me his microphone, I had the same thought). It is obvious that he has just taken his helmet on his head or moved away the microphone to his mouth and pretended that he does not hear me and he'll call me back and ask for my number to. I ask him how he's going to hear me tell him my number (which incidentally, happened already at the beginning of the conversation) and he continues his ruse. So I hang up. It is obvious that he doesn't know what to do and won't there else to help me.

Now I remember tonight about 930 hours EST, and I get the Philippines again. I'm hollow any phase of questioning with the girl and explain to him that I need the regionalization reset performed, and all that I need is to know what are the numbers of my printer to give HP support so that they can give me the code that I have to reset this device. I have him politely say I understand if she knows not what to do or understand this procedure and that I won't be angry with him, if she is simply honest and said so, but I want her to tell me if there is someone there where she works who will certainly know how to reset a supervisor or a real technical adviser, everyone. She is friendly and honest and said it's time frst that she has heard of this, and she wondered what to do. Return pending for 5 or 10 minutes. She claims she's looking for in its 'resources' for the way to do it. Nothing. I ask him to please stop and get her supervisor, she claims she is to check with her supervisor and that they "check the resources" for the procedure reset regionalization. Stupidly, I think we are making progress.

After 20 minutes of his constantly telling me that it checks its resources, even after I repeat what the procedure involved and that all she needs to do is find the procedure and tell me what are the numbers he will ask to the device itself to provide the reset code, I tell him to stop what she is doing and to his supervisor on the phone. She stalls. She says she's sorry, but they have never heard of this procedure before and that it will set me a reminder for tomorrow. YES RIGHT. I ask her WHO's going to call me tomorrow? She responds that it will be them, and they will have the answer. I tell him that I already heard of them before and I don't have another day to be wasted. I tell him to put his supervisor on the phone and I want the name of the one who is responsible for his office. She tries to ignore me and continues to ask for my phone number (which it already has). I press him for the name of who is in charge, and finally, she says "Peter" is the prime contractor. I tell him to "Peter" on the phone. 10 minutes waiting and later a guy takes over the line, says it is "Peter" and asks how I'm doing. I politely say I feel good and I ask him his surname. He asked why I need her family name. I repeat my question, "what is your last name Peter?"... his response? "Hello, Mr President? I can't hear you, can you hear me? "He starts playing with the microphone and put me on hold. Whenever he picks up and asks if I'm here I immediately have him ask his last name, to which he returned the ruse that he can't hear me. I stay on the line. At this point, it seems that HP should have some sort of policy where their 'Support' staff is not allowed to hang up the phone first, maybe, it is even followed as half-assed programs method internal 'Quality assurance', and these people not know and so they leave you on hold forever and wait until you hang up. So I expect Peter out for about 10 minutes, I'm not waiting because there is no music, the microphone is cut simply. I tell him that I know he's there and you can hear me, and I know that he can't hang up first, and then he hangs up quickly.

    SO, my question...

    NOW WHAT?

How to get anything out of hand at HP when their 'support' overseas does not know what to do?

I live in Miami and there there a headquarters in Latin America for HP. I think to walk right into the lobby and find a person in authority thatcan put me in contact with a person with an ounce of skill in the business (assuming they have one), but in all honesty, I want just the printer region d * reset if I can use these ink cartridges, I already bought and opened.

    Suggestions?

    UPDATE *.

Someone at HP, to the United States, got wind of my post here and tried to contact me by phone and sent me a letter. On the letter, he gave a phone number and the extension to the person trying to communicate with me, apparently "in charge of my case."

I tried to contact this person after his return from a trip outside the United States, and instead, I was connected to a woman named Ashley. Bottom line: Ashley has been very useful, direct, courteous without coming off as gushy (aka professional) and addressed this issue permanently. She had a new American market 4620 spent the NIGHT at my house in Miami.

While I thought that the problem would be solved, this was beyond what I would have ever expected. I asked why not just perform the reset, than to go through the obvious expense of a brand new unit more for overnight shipping? She replied that she wanted to be sure that I had no future problems to the ink to 100% and that it is too possible to subsequent topics with units that have the regionalization reset the procedure being executed.

When I asked why bother manufacturing, a dual voltage unit if the regionalization of the cartridges prevent the it in other markets without performing a procedure that HP even know is problematic? She said that HP made away with cartridges regionalized in the futre for this same reason. This information, combined with the fact that Ashley has gone far beyond what I ever would have asked that the resolution has come a long way to get HP back on my list of good... HOWEVER, HP must address than their call centers overseas. Support should be like Ashley, competent, good product knowledge and empowered to solve problems. I don't personally like if it's a Filipino or Indian, I understand business is harder to do in the United States, but if you can't get these people to meet the minimum standards, or minimum standards must be low, then they do much more harm than good and you might as well have no technical support.

Again, the support in the USA should be the norm. The customer should not have to raise hell and let the horror stories on the internet public forums in order to get in touch with the weeks of good people more later.

  • HP C4180 (regionalization) printer cartridge error

I recently moved to HK (Hong Kong) to UK (United Kingdom). I bought my printer in Hong KONG, following my move, I bought a new HP printer cartridges original, to the United Kingdom, they are not accepted by the printer which generates the error "one or two print cartridges are not intended for this printer.

The cartridges are the originals of (expensive) HP and reading online suggests that this seems to be due to codes of regionalization. But there is no way I can find to update the code of regionalization.

What is the solution to this, it should be an obvious problem, the support team has met and one that should be automatic and easy to solve.

  • Regionalization reset for my photosmart 2610

I bought the printer in the United States and Italy.  I bought a new HP cartridges in Italy who will not work until the region is reset to zero.  Looking at the answers on the same subject, I called HP support in the United States and Italy, and after 1 hour and 1/2 have been absolutely no help.  I was transferred several times.  I can't believe that this procedure should be so difficult or even justify a technical appeal.  Why is there no instructions on the Web site for this?   Can you help or get HP to support their own product?

I even spoke with a supervisor who said he found someone to help him, and then he transferred me to the menu of consumer support.  It's price winner support, seriously?  There, someone can actually help me?

Updated: 1 hour 43 minutes and 20 minutes waiting, I still remember another technician who then told me it's an obsolete product and they can't.  It took 1 hour and 43 minutes for this answer.  If I don't get this solved, you can be sure that this product is not replaced with another HP.

Sorry for the trouble.  Support centres should be able to take care of this for you.  I just send you a private message to ask for your contact information.  Once I have, I'll have someone contact you to resolve this problem.

  • Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Wireless Diagnostics warns on codes of countries in conflict.

I ve got an AirPort Express 802.11n and an AirPort Extreme 802.11n

The country code of the Airport Express is ok, but Airport Extreme shows me different options.

    Any suggestions?

    Please

A factory default reset will set the area code of the AirPort Extreme back to the initial setting that it was when it was new, but this should not be necessary because you can change the country setting without having to perform a factory default reset.

You can see the options available for your AirPort Extreme by opening AirPort Utility, by clicking on the image of the AirPort Extreme, and then click Edit in the window that appears.

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the window, and then click Wireless Options near the bottom of the window. Click on the country selection box to see the options available for your AirPort Extreme country.

Apple is doing to "regionalize" airport routers, so, for example, that if you bought the AirPort Extreme in the AirPort Express to the United States and Europe, the country on the extreme options will only show of European countries, so that the country on the version options American Express shows countries in the Western hemisphere.

    Hello

I have the Photosmart 8750 and I'm in the army. I bought the printer to the base Exchange. When the necessary printer ink base was not for my printer. I'm stationed in Germany for the short exchange of stuff fast enough. I went into town and found a store that sells HP products and the rep at the store understood what my required printer. I bought cartridges and taken home and installed them and they worked as the cartridges supplied with the printer. Later in the year, I need cartridges this time that the base has them. I have bought and taken home and installed the but now the printer says they aren't valid cartridges. A store in rep (Exchange) HP told me the reason was I used cartridges that I received from a German store. How can I fix this problem so I am able to use the cartridges I got the Base Exchange. I have been deployed or I'd do this 9 months ago. Or am I stuck with a brick of $450.00. Anyone who has been stationed abroad knows how sometimes it can be difficult when you need something and you are forced to go on the local economy to find.

    Thank you

Thanks for the update on the support of Mac.  Wasn't the case a few years before, when I was involved with the issues of regionalization.

  • DeskJet 3630: HP DeskJet 3630 doesn't recongize 803 black carteidge int

Hello. I met a problem when I using 803 ink cartridge black (instead of 63 black cartridge int) in my DeskJet 3630. The printer cannot detect the 803 even black ink cartridge, I tried two new 803 black ink cartridges that have been purchased in the supermarket. If DeskJet 3630 can use only 63 ink cartridge? If not, could you please give me some suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you very much.

BTW: I tried all the solutions on the site of HP comfortable support.

You bought the printer in a country and are now in another country?  You will need to Contact HP to ask a "regionalization Reset." Do not charge for this, it is covered under the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to have access to your computer and printer then on line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works.  Webpage of HP on the subject is here.
