repeated paper & transport jam on officejet 5510 error messages

on paper all-in-one officejet 5510 power seems broken, leading to jams paper & cartridge; USB connection to computer xp

I don't have / use a duplexer and rarely, I'm trying to make copies duplex manually. I also rarely if ever there was debris, etc. in front access areas or back.

I almost always use of standard size paper in portrait mode.

My printer is aging; I think that it is at least 8 years. Could it be the problem?

Once more, I met the carriage jam message this morning. This time I wasn't looking to remove the file I had in the queue. I just opened the front and made sure the transport would be free to move. After a few false starts, my printer has produced two copies I had asked.

Thank you, Daniel. I'll give you congratulations even if my problem seems not yet to be resolved.

  • All-in-one HP Officejet 6500 has: paper size or the type of error message problem

    I have a HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one a and am running Win 7 on a desktop computer.
I get a paper mismatch (type and paper size is incorrect) error message.
The printer is not connected to the internet, but it is connected by a USB cable to the computer.
I look at the instructions to make an internet connection and they were just too complicated. So I download the update of the firmware and ran to the computer. He would not go beyond the area of printer selection where no printers were found. Clicking Refresh has not helped.
This update of the firmware seems to have solved the problem for some users, but I need to know how you install it.
    Thanks for your help.

I think I solved the problem. I went to the website to download drivers, etc., and, rather than to specify the printer, I clicked the button to let HP identify it. It came with the correct name (see post) preceding. Then, I downloaded and installed the full feature software and driver. The first attempt to print from Excel led to the mistake of page size, but, on a whim, I tried twice and had two successful prints without error. Until further notice, I mark this as solved problem.

    Thanks for your help,

  • Officejet J6480 error message

The other day, I started getting the error message following on my Officejet J6480 printer each time that turn it on;  Solution Center: Please wait while Windows configures Solution Center.  After hitting cancel, then get the following error message; The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or another removable disk that is not available.  After hitting cancel, then get the following error message; Could not find an installation package for the product Solution Center.  Again the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package "Solution Center".  Yet once I hit Cancel and am able to use the printer.

After getting these messages whenever I turned on the printer, I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software.  It worked for 2 days and I get once more these same error messages everytime I turn on the printer.

It can be the cause of these error messages?  Other that the uninstalling and reinstalling the software, is there something I can do to solve the problem and make sure it doesn't happen?

    Thank you!!! Steven

    Hi Steven,

Please, try the following steps and let me know if this is useful:

    1. Insert the printer installation disc or find the installation folder if you installed the software on the web.
You can find the installation folder by clicking Start > run, and then type % temp % (Windows XP or Vista) or you are looking for a folder in the Windows 7 start menu search box.
    2. Locate the HP installation folder, which will begin with the characters of 7Z.
    3. Enter in the installation folder.
    4. Enter the folder of SolutionCenter.
    5. Find SolutionCenter.msi file (can be easily identified by the different icon)
    6. Right-click on this file and then click on repair
    7. Confirm any warning or any message of error and restart the PC.
    8. Now try to start the center of HP solutions again and check fo any change.

    Kind regards

    Shlomi

    Hello @JustinMurphy ,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand that you get an error message on your printer, and that the device is not responding.

I want to help you with this.

When you unplug the printer, try quitting that it disconnected for more than one minute. Also press and hold the button for 10 seconds (while the unit is unplugged).

When you plug the printer in, I hope you've had the message.

If this is not the case, try to remove the ink cartridges.

I hope we can take the error message.

If the printer gives a message about lack of ink carts you can try semi full reset the printer.

I'll send you the steps for a full semi, via private message.

  • HP Officejet 5510 all-in-one: HP Officejet 5510 off message paper

Yesterday, my printer jammed because the paper was not properly in the tray. A message appeared on my 'Out of paper' computer, which was OK, but did not disappear when I put on the new stack of nice white paper properly into the tray. I've tried several things on the internet but nothing works. Strange thing is that the copy function works normally with the samen paper, so I think that the heads of cleaning is not a useful.

I continued the search for a solution and found one to use printing HP and doctor Scan. The doctor finds errors and to repair the. This resulted in the message of cleaning paper and printing can continue.

  • HP 8600 over Error Message: paper detected does not match format of paper or type selected.

    HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 Pro

Error message: paper detected does not match format of paper or type selected

This error message appears on the printer display panel any time a custom paper size has been set up in Word (or any other application) and the format of paper & type was inserted in the Officejet Pro 8600 paper tray.  This error is generated by the printer regardless the orietation or margins or paper size settings in the document to match the paper size in the paper tray.  When you press 'OK' on the printer display panel, the printer ejects paper correctly.  Because this printer lacks a manual bypass tray, the custom paper is always inserted in the Tray1 and is the only book in this tray 1.  It's a simple tray 8600 more.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, you cannot print on a paper size "undefined" with printers. While the functionality is available in word, our printers do not recognize that the sizes of the main paper (these changes according to the country sometimes).

The reason for this is because undefined paper sizes open the printer and the print job to a certain number of risks, including jams paper or misaligned printing. This is why the function is no more on HP printers.

I recommend to find a type of traditional paper which is close to the size you want to print on and select in the layout of the print job as a workaround for this problem.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 false jam transport error messages

I have two circular messages on my 8600 Pro. The first is that there is a jam in transport. "The print carriage cannot move", it is said. "Open the door ink cartridge access, varnish any jammed paper or obstructions and selec OK." But there is not any paper jam. I checked all sources of paper and they are clear. I also tried to remove one of the ink cartridges, how the cart moves happily all the way to the right and go back to the change cartridge position, with no problems at all.

Erase this message and you get a cartridge problem... Blah, blah, blad... one or more cartridges is damaged. No they are not. Remove them and replace them all with new, same error message.

Erase this message and you are to the cartridge jam.

I tried the 15 second cord reset and remove the printhead (which seems very well). Any other suggestions?

I love this printer - best thing HP produced in ten years - and I don't want to go back to work!

It was the black cartridge. First of all, the one I tried. So the good news is, now, I have two of my favorite printer...

Can't believe that no one else has had the same problem!

  • OfficeJet 4620 - stall of transport: transport Jam

I watched the video of support, and there is no paper stuck or blocked anywhere, or any obstacle that I can find. I unplugged the printer, etc., as suggested. I can't always the printer to work. The carriage move not left by itself when I open the lid. I heard a noise of rattling after printing... I know that the video States if all else fails it may need service. But I was just wondering if there may be a few other simple fix, I forgot? The White Ribbon seems intact at both ends. The transport does not seem to move at all. I pull it to the left, and he stayed there after the closing and reopening of the coverage. I also removed all cartridges and reinstalled them.

I called technical support... a new printer is shipped to me... thanks...
