Replace the touchpad on X121e?

Hello

Is it possible to change the type of the touchpad on the X121e? I think the default is appalling. It is too small, with a little useless where it bends toward the keyboard, and I find it very choppy.

I do not use the TrackPoint, so ideally, I would like to replace the 2 big buttons and small touchpad with a decent flat touchpad. Is it possible to do?

Andy

There is no way to replace the touchpad for another type.

    Lööw salvation,

I'm sure that it of possible to replace the touchpad buttons because you can replace everything on a laptop. But I think that it s a little trickier because you must remove a lot of pieces and that's not easy.

You should ask an authorized service provider guys can order the new spare part for you and exchange it. Just write an email, for example, to get in touch with them.

You can find a list of aspic here:

    Hello

Maybe the touchpad button has a physical malfunction.
But first of all, you can try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad. Check if the resettlement will change something. But the truth; I don t think this will solve the problem. Anyway, try is free, you know.

But if that does not help so I think you need to replace the touchpad.

  • HOW CAN YOU RE - INSTALL THE TOUCHPAD ON YOUR CONTROL PANEL? I DID A STUPID THING REMOVE THE TOUCHPAD CONTROL.

I bought a mouse to replace the touchpad. I have big clumsy hands and the mouse works better for me. But the touch-pad but the touch pad turned itself by default. In order to have enough; I'm for the control panel and deleted. Instead of the touchpad to stop for good, he is so on instead of for good. How can I get the rear touchpad I deleted it after that? HELP ME PLEASE!

Usually the only way to restore it is to download the software again.  You may be on a CD of backup supplied with your computer, or you can go to the Web site of your computer manufacturer to see if they have available for download (usually in their support section).

But first, here's a step easier to try first.  Just restore your computer back before you deleted.  It of easy, takes only a few minutes, and it will affect all of your files (it only restores the software/system settings).  Here's how:

    1. Go to start and type Action Center (when you start typing, the search screen will display automatically).  Click on 'Settings' on the right side, see search results settings, and then choose the outcome of the "Action Center".
    2. In the center of the Action, at the bottom right, click recovery, and then click System Restore open (2nd option).
    3. Select choose a different restore point, and then choose a date before you deleted the software.  Click next to continue.  The computer will restart with the settings/software at this time.

I hope this restores you back in until the software has been removed.  If not, you can try another restore point or undo the restore operation.

  • How to take off the touchpad to replace?

Please, I'm stuck, my palmrest of my Sony VAIO VGN-FW250J is broken and I bought a new replacement, but it came without the touchpad. How can I disable the touchpad of an old then paste it into my new palmrest?

Hmm, it depends on the complexity of the touchpad is built. Images of the palm rest replacement, the tablet should be connected via a small socket on the left side of the old Palm. Two scenarios can occur. One, the touchpad is "stuck" with a kind adhesive or something and may or may not break the withdrawal. The other scenario is he will be disabled just pop quite easily and it will be an easy swtich to the new.

You have already removed the old plam rest? If so, have you tried to remove the touchpad? Let know us and we can go from there.

  • the touchpad on the generation of apple tv 4 does not swipe

Just unpacked my generation Apple tv 4 refurb.  I gave the remote control a short load before you try set up.  I was able to pair the remote control but the touchpad does not respond to the finger swipes. There is no way to make selections.  I was able to use my mini iPad to Setup wifi, apple store and iCloud.  When asked to allow location services there is no way to select my choice.  Also on the built-in keyboard I can click but not drag to select the letters.  Looks like a defective remote to me.  All opinions. ?

Charge for about three hours. If the remote control is correctly associated with ATV, but the touchpad stil does not work, get it replaced.

  • The Touchpad right button does not work on the Satellite Pro L series

The icon in the taskbar indicates that the right button is permanently pressed, if it is not.
So I can't right click at all. A radio mouse works fine, but there are times I want to use the touchpad.

In addition, the screen does not turn off, and the computer goes to sleep after the hours set in the options of energy saving.
I listen to the radio a lot and do not want to display on.

    > The icon on the task bar shows that the right button is permanently pressed, if it is not.
    > So I can't right click at all. A radio mouse works fine, but there are times I want to use the touchpad.

This could be linked to defective button. If you cannot use the right button, and the button appears to be clicked down, then I suppose that its hardware malfunction.
In this case it must be replaced.

    > In addition, the screen does not turn off, and the computer goes to sleep after the hours set in the options of energy saving. I listen to the radio a lot, and don t want the display on.

Have you chosen the right power Plan? In Control Panel-> power options you have to choose the diet plan and should click: change plan settings. Here, you can change the time when the display must be disabled.
If this does not work, then I guess that this feature does not work because you press the button of the touchpad and the windows OS think that the notebook is in use

  • Tecra A11 - how to change the sensitivity of the touchpad?

Our company has recently bought some Tecra A-11 to replace some of the old Pros of Satellite. We have noticed that there is a tendency for the mouse cursor jump from one place to another on the screen while typing causing major issues when coding and writing emails. Sometimes you just type in a place and not notice while other times it will select and remove chunks of text without noticing your.

We can lower the sensitivity or what options do we eliminate this problem.

    Hi CGAdjensen,

Yes, you can change the sensitivity of the touchpad, that s no problem. Also, I did this because the default is too sensitive for me.

So go to control panel > hardware & sound > mouse > advanced > advanced feature

    Check this box!

  • Satellite A100-033: I disabled the touchpad and now Fn + F9 won't allow

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 running Vista Home Basic. I use especially the laptop as a desktop replacement, and I do not like use the touchpad I disabled it, and instead, I use an external mouse via a USB port.

I don't know if I disabled the touch pad by pressing Fn + F9 or by any other means (if it was by some other means that I forgot what it was). Recently, I wanted to re-enable the touchpad so that I could use the laptop outside the home. However, I found that by pressing Fn and F9 don't re - not allow the touchpad and I now can't use the touch pad at all.

If I go into the properties of the mouse (in Control Panel), that tells me that my synaptics pointing device is enabled. If I go into Device Manager and look at 'mouse', I thought that my touchpad works properly.

All this makes me suspect that the problem is not a hardware failure, but I changed a few settings, so that my touchpad is permanently disabled until I change the setting back to its original state.

    Help!

    Hello

One of the solutions would be a system restore you could try to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Perhaps that would help reactivate the touchpad.

Conversely, you can try to reinstall the drivers for the Touchpad firstly I would recommend removing it from the Device Manager and then after restarting, you can try reinstalling the drivers downloaded!

I would appreciate any comments from you

    Good bye

  • Satellite C870-155 - the Touchpad does not work

    I have a Satellite C870 - 155 (PSC8AE) and problems with the touchpad.

The buttons work, but not the pointer/trackpad.

The laptop was in need of a replacement hard drive, and I don't have any recovery media. I'm running a new installation of Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit) vanilla.

I installed all the drivers, that I can find (including the touchpad).

I tried pressing F5 / Fn + F5, but this does not change anyuthing that I can see.

I am running the latest version of the BIOS I can find (6.60).

    Any suggestions?

    > Everything seems to work except the pointer.
I guess that s hardware problem and the touchpad module must be replaced.
I m straight probably because if the touchpad would be disabled or drivers that would be misunderstood, the touch area AND the touchpad buttons would not work.

In your case touch ONLY area/pad does not work, but the buttons

But just to be sure: go into the BIOS (F2)-> Advanced tab-> the system setup
Here you can check whether the pointing device (touchpad) is enabled.

  • Qosmio F50: Fingerprint Reader disconnect by pressing on the area between the touchpad & SPACEBAR

    Hello!

I got my Qosmio one a week ago and I'm quite happy with it, except a little problem.

I noticed that while typing or playing a game, I would get random "device" / "device disconnected" sound of windows.
Keeping the open Device Manager, I discovered it was the fingerprint reader.

After a little research (and some luck), I noticed that if I press the area between the touchpad and the SPACEBAR just enough to drop the case, the fingerprint reader would disconnect momentarily.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I think it was a good decision that you have replaced the unit because based on your description this issue looked like a hardware problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P850 138 - left button of the touchpad works most completely

    My touchpad started acting strange.

left mouse button has stopped working completely and the right hand one worked only intermittently, and whenever I clicked on legs, be it firefox, IE, Safari, or whatever it is in the menu at the bottom such as a folder bar or whatever it is she she closed (no im not not by clicking on the red X)

Then all of a sudden after awhile he would all start working again. This has happened twice now.
Restart the system doesn't do nothing there just suddenly starts and stops all of a sudden, but the periods for which it occurs seems to get more time.

Also the icon of touchpad in the corner with the cross through it has decided to turn its self on a few days ago and found out that the touchpad was disabled on its own and figured out how to re-enable.

I know this isn't a virus as ive run lots of different anti virus on my system and I was wondering if his time to restart the computer in the store and get a replacement as ive she was only 4 months old

    Hello

My personal opinion, you should not replace this laptop until you tried not to workarounds.
First you don t know if its software related issue.
The point is that if its software delivers, you could solve it easily recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option.

Please try to configure the computer laptop initial configuration using disk HARD recovery.
Press F8-> choose fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery

If HARD drive recovery is not available, press F12 and check if there is a HARD drive recovery option.
After the system recovery, make sure that the touchpad and other features of the laptop.
