  Reinstall the graphics driver from Nvidia site, in Winupdate settings, disable the updates recommended.

  From your description of the error, this really sounds like a malfunction of the GPU (graphics processing unit).
  Unfortunately, it is a serious offense and if a replacement of material you will not be able to fix this :(

  It is a case value because you can not only replace the graphics card. You need to replace the whole motherboard because the GPU is soldered on the Board and cannot be removed easily.

  These video cards are one and the same?  They are SLI compatible together? I bought an XPS 630 with a single nVidia GeForce 9800 GT and want to get a second to run in SLI mode.

  I have a Satellite P10 554 for more than 2.5 years (warranty expired). But now the display start to Flash (sometimes some horizontal strips as refreshing disorders, sometimes turns completely black,...).

After flashing several times, the screen can not recover more and sometimes restart the laptop (with sometimes after a blue screen of death).   This usually happens sometime after Windows XP starts, usually at the age of 5 minutes. I did not notice any software related issue and he persisted after full format and reinstall Windows XP.

  As you can read in 100 other threads, it of not possible to replace the graphics card because it s fixed/soldered to the motherboard. Therefore, an Exchange is not possible.
