request for phone call scam?

I received the same call of so-called Sydney, Australia. Gathered that they were Crooks, due to the fact that they did not know the phonetic alphabet while instructing me to enter orders. My question is - if I open the window "Run" and typed in ' prefetch and eventvwr 'temp' at different stages, is it possible that they have accessed remotely on my computer right now? Once the windows were open, I did not open all of the files at all. How they access a computer remotely? Thanks in advance

Orders, they ask you to type in are intended to take you to parts of the operating system most users do not know, and then they will claim that what you see is evidence of a virus infection or "errors with your computer. It is, of course, no such thing. At this stage they do not have access to your computer. If they manage to deceive you, they will send you to a legitimate remote access as Logmein service that allows them to use your computer remotely and "fix" it for you. If you're lucky, they charge you an exorbitant amount for the service and sell you antivirus software for an inflated price. If you're not, you could be infected with the malware.

Because you understand what was going on at an early stage, you are at no risk at all.

Fake phone calls to technical support

  • I use my iPhone 6 very often to my office for phone calls.  This will help overall battery life to stay connected as I have all these phone calls?

I use my iPhone 6 very often to my office for phone calls.  This is my work phone.

This will help life battery together if I keep the phone plugged in my phone calls?

    Thank you

SUSE, you can use it while connected and in this way when you unplug to get somewhere, you know you will have a fully updated beautiful upgraded battery.

Just don't leave it plugged constantly all the time — weeks or months.  A battery lithium needs periodically some running through it.  But certainly leave it plugged during the day of the company while using it, or even just for long calls will do no harm.

Battery life is determined by the cycles, so if this reduces the rate of your phone through equivalent full charge and discharge cycles it can not hurt self-help (depending on how you use it, it cannot help battery life much either, but it probably won't hurt it).

  • ATTENTION: the Tech support phone call scam.

I just got a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent very thick, arguing that the IP address of my computer was now public and hacked my computer.  She even transferred the call to the Ministry "Hand Macintosh Server" to talk with someone named John Williams, who provided this phone number:
    (855) 876-6657.
I immediately called the Apple Store and they agreed it was a scam.
    Please pay attention.

Thanks for letting us know - always wise to be on the lookout and to maintain the level of healthy skepticism on this kind of unsolicited calls

Not sure what they could have done while they had remotely
access. That's why I strongly recommend you do both of the
    immediately following:

    1. change all your passwords, mostly all banks or any other
    financial institutions.

    2 reinstall Windows properly.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook 1.5 - connect contact initiates the request for phone number

    Hello

Just installed Facebook 1.5 on my Curve 8900 and I am trying to manually link some FB friends to the contacts of BB.  Whenever I do this it sends a request to the FaceBook friend's phone number when it connects to them.  Does anyone know of a way I can turn this option off?  I want to just connect, not request a phone number, otherwise I would have chosen the option "request phone!

    Thank you

Yes, the 1.5.0.32 FB version corrects this problem.

  • Received phone call scam

    original title: invasion

Today, I got a call from phone of someone who said they were from Microsoft. They explained that they knew my PC had a few problems with virus and asked me to go through some formalities. I began, then became suspicious when I asked if they could give me an identification. More than two people came to try to persuade me to continue the program, they have tried with the first caller.

I refused, asked their names and company they also represented, I said I was recording the call via the habit (a white lie) and then he hung up.

I've composed 1471 and the number, they called a 02012574201 I guess it is a scam and warns other PC users to take note

    You are right.

    It's another scam.

The hoaxters rang her back, was annoyed when she told them that she believed they are fraudsters. They claimed to be true and asked for the money for the work they had done. She hung up. They rang again and hung up when her husband answered. What are the measures that it should take now? Can report it? These people are not the phone ring every few minutes.
