Reset HP 5510

I was put the IP address on my HP 5510 to a static IP address when I saved the settings without changing the DNS. Now I can not log into the printer with the old IP, or nine.

Is there a way to reset the printer wireless settings to the original default settings so I can start again or do I permanantly breaking Wi - Fi for my printer?

Also, I did this remote for my wife, I wasn't in the same room as the printer and the computer. I searched the forums but can't find anything on this subject. If it's been covered, I apologize for the redundancy.

Thank you

EDIT: I found the answer through a websearch.

Once I was in the same room as the printer, it is easy.

There is a menu option.

Is it possible to close this thread, so it doesn't waste time everyone?

  • 5510 HP printer all in one, sc: Office jet 5510 all in only one forum

I have a HP Officejet 5510 all-in-one. When I copy a document or fax a document. The pages are black with white lettering. Practically illegible. Having installed two new ink cartridges. Also when trying to align after the first sheet, the one that put you on the glass is not recognized for alignment.  Appreciate any suggestions to solve my problem

    Hi @Hazran,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printer problem.

I understand that you have a printer all-in-one HP Officejet 5510 which produces copies and faxes that are illegible with white lettering on a black background. I would like to help with that.

The fact that this occurs when the copy and fax indicates that it is a problem of printer hardware.

I would start by doing a Reset of the power on the printer.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

Indeed, if this help you to achieve a solution please click the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

  • photosmart HP 5510 vote B11a: noise and Auful printing problem

    Hello world

    I'm new here.

I have a problem with my photosmart HP 5510 printer, when I try to print it makes a terrible noise and it does not print.

I try update firmware, reset the printer, change the cartridge, remove all the piece of paper, but nothing.

    Could you help me please?

    Thank you

    Alessandro

    Hi @alessandro96

    I'd love to help you with the sound that you hear from the printer. I understand that you have already begun to solve the problem, but the noise remains. Please post back with the answers to the following questions;

    1. Is the printer on a flat surface?
    2. How long has noisy for the printer?
    3. Didn't help then the noise started? (ie. the paper, printer error message jam was fallen/hit, surge)
    4. There are flashing lights, or the error messages on the printer?
    5. When was the last time that the cartridges have been changed?
    6. If you are a Virgin copy, when you hear the noise?
    7. If you open the printer do you see broken parts?
    8. When opening upward where the cartridges go, they move freely?
    9. The cartridges are installed correctly? (ie. the cartridges are level and does not appear).
    10. Perform a hard reset. With the power on remove power cord from the back of the device, then from the wall outlet. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (drains the excess power of the printer). Plug the power supply into the wall outlet, then the printer.
    11. You still get the noise after that?

I look forward to hear from you.

  • Photosmart HP 5510 is not printing black

After I changed my black cartridge with a new one (original HP 364 XL), it does not print any black.

I did all the steps I found here on the forum, apparently this problem is pretty common with the 5510 after he reached the age of one year... but none worked.

I read that the last option is a reset 'special '? I would like to know how it works.

No matter what HP tech out there who can help me?

    Thank you!

  • HP 5510 Scan and copy is twisted

When I copy or scan on my 5510, the resulting image is twisted - the left the bottom margin is 1 inch to the right of the margin on the left at the top of the screen.  I printed an alignment page (don't not quirky) and scanned the alignment page, but that has not fixed the problem. Any suggestions?

    Hello

It seems that the alignment is fine. I suggest you do a hard reset with the printer. Unplug the laptop in the back of the printer and then on the wall. Once you disconnect the two, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in the printer first, then the wall.

Go ahead and try the scan after the printer turns on.

    Let me know the results.

  • OfficeJet HP 5510 all-in-One - door locked - ink cartridge does not open.

Windows XP Service Pak 3, HP 5510 Officejet, printer, USB connection.

Won't let me open the ink cartridge door.  So, I can not install new ink cartridges.   It started about 3 weeks after I deleted some other software.   When I touch the door to open it, I get this flashing Error Message - "Door open, door close print cartridge."   (but door is not open, it is locked closed).   .   Printer will print documents correct, my problem is that I can't load new ink cartridges.  I could probably force and break on it to open it, but am afraid my printer does not work after that.  I love it and want to continue using it.

Three times, on different occasions, I crossed the steps on your website to reset the printer.  They did not solve it.  I opened the back of the printer and looked for any paper jams and tips or debri.   I took can air and exploded all over where I could, but nothing came out.  I don't have a paper jam, when this started.

Is there a code pin or something to get out, the door somewhere?

If I force rotating door and breaks, the printer works?

Problem started on December 14, 2010.

    Thank you

    Hello Oldlady10,

The 5510 JO has a Center door that goes through the top on both sides. It is possible that the door warped a bit in the middle and create a barrier that will not the door opens without a lot of strength.

Solution: Hold the door with both hands as you open the door, then take both thumbs and press down on the top of the door to repel the distorted area and then lift the pen access door.

  • 5510 printer/Mac 10.7 fail to complete the installation after said to unplug the USB.

Have installed the relevant software & drivers such as advised by Apple/HP as disc not suitable for my Mac 10.7. After going through the installation process complete Mac fails to find the printer wirelessly after saying to unplug the USB cable. The printer indicates that there is a wireless connection to my router wireless of AOL, but still I get the message "select devices below" but having contracted the USB cable, there is no display device.

    ... Hello again.

It seems now that HP Support have found the problem so let me give you some information.

I called the Apple Technical Support on the advice of the staff of the local Apple store but it told me that it is acknowledged as a problem as Apple have already tried to solve the problem and failed he spent on HP.

I spent 50 odd minutes on phone to the call center of Newcastle (which was fantastic) and now upward and the operation.

We have downloaded 2 updates of for Mac and printer 5510 (firmware).  In the preferences system (Print & Scan) the file sharing box has been checked (and also ensured that the sharing printers, file sharing and the sharing of scan have been checked).  This has allowed to get up and running with print but then had a problem with scanning.  We then cut to reset (in that order)-router, Mac and printer, then turn it back on in reverse.  Then we have the source of installation of scan in the menu of applications under Hewlett Packard/HP Scan 3.

    I hope this helps.

  • Photosmart HP 5510 - will not print using black ink

I have problems with my HP Photosmart 5510 all-in-One printer, because it will not print in black. All cartridges are brand new and are genuine HP cartridges. I've never used anything other than HP cartridges, and I believe that I have would be considered a very light printer user.

I use a HP Pavilion Desktop PC (Vista Home Premium) connected to the printer via a USB cable.

I have to 'reset' the printer (power cable removed for 20 seconds), I cleaned the print heads and tried to re-alignment of the printer.

I ran HP print and Scan diagnostics and do the message "Everything out OK with your product." I then print a test page which "fails", that there is no black ink in use. The diagnosis confirms that the ink levels are all OK and that my printer uses HP authentic and than Normal inks or better quality is selected.

The printer is a little over a year old and as mentioned has had very light use.

There is no error - every reason to believe that everything is OK.

I wish I had a solution to this problem.

As by chance my previous printer a HP Photosmart 3210 all-in-One failed in a similar way, although in this case, the black was fine, it was impossible to print colors correctly. Once the printer was just out of warranty.

Curiously enough and fortunately like few others on the forum a few days after the installation of the new cartridge, it seems to work perfectly fine again.  any ideas as to why this happens?

  • PSUS4 in hp 5510

I try to connect my psus4 for hp officejet 5510. in the Web server control page, it says that the printer is online. but it does not print when I click on "print test page" in the browser. also, it does not print if I hold the reset for 3 seconds button. any suggestions? Thank you

Thanks for the help. If the installation was tricky, it finally worked. I'll give you one summary for others.

    1. press in psus4 reset button will not print to hp 5510. Or the "print test page" button in the browser of PS. This isn't a problem.

    2. If you can see a given as well as online in the web page PS printer, you can move forward.

    3. follow the above installation link. The only thing they missed is the name of the queue. I gave her P1.

    4. because I don't have the printer installation CD (and since hp 5510 is NOT listed in the list of drivers in XP), I had to follow this tip

When prompted for a printer: I chose HP officejet. Of course, he didn't print a test page, when installation is complete

Downloaded hp 5510 driver hp Web site and installed the printer connected directly to the pc software.

Went to the (network - already installed) PS printer property->-> new driver advanced and changed the driver to 5510

    He began working

Hope it will be useful to others. I spent almost a week to understand.
