• Problem with the Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning software

  I replaced the DVD drive.  After that when I try to open Easy CD * software burning DVD in my computer appears a message as follows "all your drives are set to disabled.  On this operating system, in order to start easy CD & DVBD burning house you have to physically remove your disks or activate at least one of them".  I checked the DVD drive in Device Manager and it says it's working properly.  I can listen to music and watch video DVDs on the DVD player.  The software stops to this message.

  Since the optical drive is working properly, but not detected / issues only in the Roxio software, please contact Roxio support for assistance.

  I have a Studio 2008 1537 with an 8 x Slot Load CD/DVD burner (dual layer DVD + /-in car and it was replaced under warranty about 2 years ago, but now Roxio does not recognize as a reader.)  I want to make copies of some videos, but I can't do it.  I think I need to update the driver, but I do not know what actual brand or DVD burner model number I.  How will I know?

  Roxio will be available for download on my Dell downloads. So go ahead and register, then download the installer and save it.

  You might want to try the upper and lower filter thing (link below). This can solve the problem of Roxio, but not iTunes issue.

  I just uninstall Roxio DVD burner software because of its Media Manager and other features with the CS3 interference.

  Anyone know of a free DVD burner - I just need the DATA DISK function to save the files on a DVD... that I can use with CS3 and it is not hang all sorts of stuff crazy re: media?  Or... a program relatively little expensive would be OK, but I'm struggling a little $$ wise, so less is more.

  I too have Nero beautifully alongside a bunch of Adobe programs. However, I am only a custom installation, omitting InCD and all observers and the "sniffers". Nero is not 'bad', but at least with the default value of old plant would load a whole bunch of modules that get in the way as well as sap valuable resources. As an aside, Nero seems easier to "clean," that Roxio, which seems to run tentacles everywhere. Once it is fully installed, it takes a presser foot or a reformat - or so it seems.

  If I have some Nero, I usually just go with ImgBurn, be it for a DVD-video or DVD-data.

• Portege R700 - slow DVD burning

  all of a sudden for some reason any CD/DVD burn on my new Portege R700 has almost ground to stop. It worked fine initially, but now won't have high peaks of 1 MB/sec... it is a REAL pain...

  The problem occurs with both the DVD player built-in and a USB connected drive that has worked well for years, so there must be a problem with o/s or H/S any. am about to update the BIOS but with no real hope

  I did some research on Google and things seem to point to the IDE controller issues. I took some advice and remove / reinstall the controller, but to no avail...

• Satellite M50 CD/DVD burning problems

  I recently puirchased a Satellite M50 with the CD/DVD Multi-lecteur. Toshiba literature indicates that it can write both write - once and several CD and DVD - writing.

  While I can burn on CD - RW and DVD - RW (DVD + RW) I can't burn discs CD - R or DVD-R (or DVD + R). The error message is something in the sense of ' does not support the driver (or reader) write once discs.

  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Well, it's not easy to say why you can t burn on some media. Maybe it s a malfunction of the media?
  Have you tried to burn CDs or DVDs from different manufacturers?
  I use TDK media and I m very happy. I found an interesting article on the CD/DVD burning.

• DVD burner software missing - Satellite Pro M30

  I bought the laptop with the DVD burner drive. I use my laptop for business purposes and I can't find the CD for the software that came with the laptop.
  All the software I need are installed on my machine except the software that allows me to use the DVD drive to burn DVDs.

  When I insert a blank DVD, the Windows disk folder (which works well with CDs) does not have the files I have to slide on it, and apparently, I need the software provided on the CD to be able to write DVD.

  Can someone help me please? I can't find the software on the Toshiba site, so it would be great if someone could direct me to find...

  If you wish, you can install the Nero software to burn and test it properly. Using Nero application you can burn CDs and DVDs easy.

  I have a unique problem where my cd/dvd burner burn my data to a recordable cd (not verified with recordable dvd yet) correctly, but after the burning process I get an error message "(devMediumNotPresent_TrayClosed) closing session error (Session: 4 medium not present-tray closed. - 0X023A01'.)"

  I tried roxio and nero, cdburnerxp, but I get this error on the whole. However, the burn is successful. I can open the data burned in my laptop or other computers and use the same drive to burn more data in the other computer. I tired to reduce speed, but it is of no use. I have also reinstalled the drivers but no use at the end I also did a clean uninstall of Roxio-> then installed Nero-> Nero clean uninstall-> then install Cdburnerxp 4.3.2.2140.

  Use the same media brand in my desktop LG cd/dvd combo drive, and things are absolutely perfect.

  I got my ODD back to normal. The simple solution was to clean the lens of the drive. I called a Dell technician. He inspected the car and found that the problem was due to an unclean lens. In fact, I have never cleaned the lens since I bought the laptop in February 2008. I used a lens cleaner with 6 brushes Writex.

  I also checked the drive by
  1. create a Live CD: Ubuntu
  2. a burned DVD
  3 burn a different brand CD

  Above all 3 tasks are normally carried out with any error. The player read / written correctly.

  There are several lasers in the player: one for each function. Then when it will burn or read a way and not a different it probably means that the software is OK or not burn anything. It is likely means that the drive needs to be replaced. I would try a laser cleaner disc, you can get any store of infographic and also run a sfc/scannow from the command prompt and try the automatic repair of Microsoft running tool.

  I doubt that this will help, but pretty easy and worth a try. My best guess is that the drive must be replaced.

  You could try the following:

  Fill any DVD burning software. These programs may be trying to use the player, which prevents access to the Windows disk. Programs to look at include:

  • Roxio product family
  • Power DVD
  • WinDVD
  • Direct Media
  • Windows Media Player
  • Nero Burning ROM

  Update the firmware on the optical drive and the BIOS of the computer. In some cases, the firmware of the drive may be damaged or the BIOS can 'lose' the reader. Visit the Dell drivers and downloads site Web and enter your Service tag to get the updates specific to your computer.

  Since you have a new Dell computer, you can go to the Dell site for the support of this new computer.

• DVD burner surrenders

  I was not able to find all messages addressing this issue yet. Part of it is I don't yet know the best way to get this particular issue. My apologies if this is a repeat.

  I use a G71-340US HP with Windows 7. It has been working well for years and I had no problem burning CD Roms. Recently, I decided to invest in some DVD to do some serious backup. I had some Memorex double layer DVD + r and tried to burn free Ashampoo burning software Windows (via Explorer) built with the burning software.

  In all cases, the engraver of DVD begins, Burns for a few minutes, then closes and ejects the DVD. I get a generic error message. The HP Support Assistant says that all withdrew.

  What is the double layer DVD? I would be grateful for any suggestions! Thank you!

  If the burner is rejecting Memorex, so go with Verbatim or Sony. Taiyo Yuden is supposed to be the best, and they are now under the name of Victor JVC.

  The most common things that cause failure Burns is the middle (the burner itself do not like the brand)

  The burner is in need of an update of the firmware (it is not easy on a burner to laptop OEM, most of the time it's impossible)

  Most notebook burners are OK, but many of them have problems with dual layer though it is supposed to work.

  Finally, the burner itself is defective.

  I would like to start with a different brand, each manufacturer has a different recipe of their dyes and how they are applied to the drive.
