  • Runtime error 217 in Win7 Pro x 64

I have Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) with Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.  I had no major problems between the two, but at one point last week I started having 'Runtime Error 217 at XXXXXXXX'.

The runtime error occurs rarely.  In some cases, I noticed that the time it takes for Win7 to accept my password login and go to the main screen is longer than the usual 2 to 5 seconds and for the point at which Win7 active most of startup programs, the error occurs and a left click is disabled (none of my programs will activate after a left click nor that such a window as a popup panel).  Sometimes Win7 jumps logon screen to the main screen normally, and I still get the error.  And from time to time, as load Win7, just after the start of the opening screen, and before password logon screen appears, I get a BSOD.  The Recovery Agent can not find the problem.

Should I install Microsoft Fix - It, or perform a clean boot and activate a service at a time to see if the runtime error occurs.  I never touched the registry (manually or), and again, I have to enable even a program in Advanced System Optimizer with my last setup of Win7.

For starters, I have a feeling that the problem could arise either from VirtuMVP or the Office of Bing (bad installation, maybe?). in this case, I might have to uninstall one or both, clean the disc in Explorer, run a disk check and reinstall one or both.

UPDATE:  I'm in the middle of the cyclical food my own boots, activating a program at a time until the Runtime Error 217 shows up again...

... But regarding my BSOD (which were more common than I thought), I have this information:

    Signature of the problem:

    Problem event name: BlueScreen

    OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48

    Locale ID: 1033

    More information about the problem:

    BCCode: f4

    BCP1: 0000000000000003

    BCP2: FFFFFA8013B32B30

    BCP3: FFFFFA8013B32E10

    BCP4: FFFFF800035887B0

    OS version: 6_1_7601

    Service Pack: 1_0

    Product: 256_1

Is anyone able to give a sense of this?

I did a restore of the system to a point before the BSOD started running wild, but I've always had a Runtime Error 217.

I checked my event viewer to determine the time at which the runtime error has occurred, and if I read it right (because I'm not sure I am), it may have something to do with the .NET Framework 4.0:

Rate this file MVPControlPanel.exe.  I think I might have to uninstall VirtuMVP lucid, run a cleaning of Windows disk and reinstall.  I hope that this is the problem, because I hate the idea that I could have to remove everything concerning .NET Framework 4.x and reinstall.  I'll put you on the suite.

UPDATE:  I removed lucid VirtuMVP 2.1.226, ran a cleaning disc through Windows Explorer, a check disk and reinstalled.  This time, LucidLogix had version 2.1.227.

So far, one day after the withdrawal of 2.1.226 and installation of 2.1.227, no runtime error did arise.

    Hello

    1. Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What antivirus application do you use?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

    b. click on tools, then on Internet options.

    c. click on the Connections tab.

    d. click on LAN settings.

    e. uncheck the option use a proxy server for your LAN .

    f. save the changes by clicking on apply and ok.

    Method 3:

Configure Internet Explorer to disable simplified HTTP error messages and check the status of the issue.

    a. on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

    b. on the Advanced tab, in the browsing section, disable friendly HTTP error messages display check box and then click OK.

    c. close Internet Explorer.

    d. restart Internet explorer and check the status of the issue.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • C# 2008 - unregistered control error TestStand2012 ActiveX on Win7 64 bit OS

    Hi all

I hope someone can help with pointing me in the right direction.

I have a c# 2008 TestStand2010 ActiveX control (on the form) application. It is originally created in Windows XP, 32 bit and it works fine.

Now, I try to take the program to another PC with Win7 64 bit and TestStand2012.

I recompiled already successfully the solution with TS2012 on Win7 64 bit OS and I put "Any CPU" configuration manager "x 86". But when I'm debugging or running the program, I always have an exception ' class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0 x 80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

When I remove the TestStand ActiveX control on the form, the program works very well. So I was wondering, if TestStand2012 is available for 64-bit? I have install TS2012 directly from the CD. Is there another TS 2012 special package for 64-bit? or the CD version is 32-bit and 64-bit?

If nothing wrong with the software, I missed something in the settings of c# language? Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you and have a nice day.

    I already have.

He now works then? This should work if you have set to x 86 platform. There must be a problem with the way you set the platform. Look at the example of c# UI project. It already does. Maybe you do not run the executable right. The exe file is built in a different directory for each default platform.

  • HP Setup crashes with a runtime error for interface C309-m software

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  All operating system updates are installed.

I need to update the software to interface with my printer HP Photosmart Premium C309-m.  The current software is out of date.  I can't start the scan from the printer, and only my account on the computer recognizes that I have a printer.  Several analysis diagnosis on the State of HP Scan Doctor tool that some software components seem to be missing.  The printer itself seems to work very well.

When I try to update the software C309-m via HP Print/Scan doctor, software downloads, extracted, then runs and crashes with a runtime error.  The error box comes from the Microsoft Visual C++ run-time library and the crash of Setup runs is the appdata/local/temp/7zS3DA1 directory that I seem to have several similar directories that were not cleaned from previous installation attempts.

Any suggestions on how to get a successful installation of the C309-m software would be appreciated.

    Hi Ken50,

I would recommend selecting the Uninstall_L3.bat.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Help!

    Hi davidHarr,

Once the extracted program you can find in the following C:\Users\PC Name\AppData\Local\Temp\7z location? Example: 7zS4ED0. Once you find the extracted installer you should be able to run the Setup.exe file to install your printer. Let me know if you need assistance?

FYI - easier to access this directory Temp is to type folder in the find programs and files.

  • 17600 Runtime error code

    Hello

I get an annoying runtime error when you try to run my sequence file.

    the error is:

Unable to load the 'T:\ATE\TS-e-Detect\e-Detect CAT2 Status.vi' VI in the version of "13.0.1f5" LabVIEW runtime engine

(I've also attached a picture of the full error)

I've never seen this before and I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to fix this!

    I am uing LabVIEW 2013 verssion 13.0.1f5.

The screw that calls the sequence file are published as a source distribution and located on my server, what I see under all the screws have been added at the distribution of sourse was built.

Did anyone had this problem before and able to point me in the right direction?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for watching!

    Iain

I found what was causing my problem.

Some of the screws that have been published related to the various bodies or screw SPI.

I deleted all references to these screws of my project and then Redid the links and redid my source distribution.

Took forever to get out, but I got there in the end!
