Hi Natasha,.
The same thing happened to me, but it was my fault. My DVD-ROM can read just DVD-R. It is not possible to watch movies recorded on DVD + R. Please check if your DVD-ROM can read all formats.
Good bye

Hello
have you checked the Mode function without failure of Windows XP Home edition?
During booting press the F8 key (between the Toshiba Logo and the WinXP splash screen) then you can choose Safe Mode.
Starts with the parameters of Safe Mode WinXp default driver you could to see if a pilot or a registry is damaged.

Satellite 1110-Z15: problem with Recovery CD and DVD player
I currently have a Satellite 1110 model number PS111E-006R8-EN/S1110-Z15.
But a few weeks ago, my DVD Rom drive no longer works, it would not run properly when a cd is inserted it kind of Jolt and then arrested and continues to do the same. Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried to rebuild the system by using a version of windows xp that has been successful, it is now, I found the original recovery disks, but without using the cd drive inward, I had recourse to an external cd drive freecom, I hold the c key at startup , but nothing happens, can anyone help emergency
PS: I made the changes in the Bios to boot from the cd driveHi nichollsr,
in our society, we have 2 Satellite 1110-Z15, and there is a delicate hint for recovery.
Toshiba has made a small mistake and printed the wrong order on the CD. You only need to change the order of the Recovery CD. No.. 1 is no. 2 and vice versa.
Insert the diskette n ° 2, hold down the 'C' key and the recovery is expected to begin. If your laptop does not identify external drive-Freecom CD try to hold the 'U' key to boot from USB.
I found a FAQ on the site of Toshiba UK
http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com
You must click on Support / download, then to the knowledge base and search for a called FAQ
'TIU0000002559 '.
There is a detailed explanation of this issue.

Satellite 1110-Z15: this DVD-/ + RW discs are compatible
I had problems with the CD/DVD combo drive in my 3 yr old Satellite 1110-Z15 laptop and I'm looking to upgrade to a DVD burner instead of simply replacing it as for.
Can someone tell me what DVD-/ + RW discs are compatible with this model?
Thank you.
Hello
You will be very happy if someone can give you that info. In any case, for the hardware update is responsible for service Toshiba partners. If anyone knows what compatible player is, as service partners.
Another solution is to use the external drive. It allows you to use the most recent one that burns all formats available on the market. The problem is that your camera has USB 1.0 only and no firewire port.

Extension memory for laptop Satellite 1110-Z15
Hello
I would like to upgrade the memory of my laptop Satellite 1110-Z15 and tried to find a list of approved toshiba memory manufacturers, with no luck.
Anyone know of any manufacturers approved for computers laptop toshiba because I can't find the type of memory required on the site of components electronic toshiba?
Thank you
Sorbet
Hello sorbet
I found the information that your laptop can handle with 512 MB max. I guess that your device already has 256 MB. You can use the second 256 MB module and put it in a second slot.
Part number for the module memory of 256 MB is PA3127U - 1. 25 M.

Satellite L50 - A - 1 6 - DVD problems after upgrade to Windows 10
As the title, the player is normally recognized by the system, but put any media in the drive is not read and that is why it is always empty.
What could be the problem? Thanks to you all
I guess saying DVD player you mean the STRANGE-> optical disc
First I would recommend you to check this page for troubleshooting MS:
https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/...drive_problemsIt fixes the problems with CD or DVD players that cannot read or write media
In addition you can uninstall/remove optical drive from Device Manager.
After the new reboot, Windows system must be able to recognize the STRANGE new and usually the most recent driver must be installed also. -
Satellite 1110-Z15: Question on a second drive HARD and WLan
I have just accquired this notebook, is possible to install a second hard drive for backup purposes? and there at - it wireless card available, can I install it to the Internet etc.
Any advice would be appreciated.Thank you
Hello
AFAIK there is no expansion to second HARD drive slot. In this case, you cannot install a second HDD but you can create a partition on your first HARD drive.
You can use the second partition for a backup image or other important files.II have also verified the information on the existing wireless and the wireless card is not available on this device. In this case, you can use a wireless USB key or a PCMCIA wireless card.

Satellite 1110-Z15 HD Exchange
Hello
I need to change my hard drive but I can't open the case.
What I did:
* remove all screws
* try to remove the keyboard but I find no way
--> carefully, I opened the case up to the Middle, but I think that under the keyboard must be a screw more!So I really hope someone can help me!
so long TimPost edited by: TimOnline
Hello Tim
I put t know exactly how you need to do, but as far as I know, you must remove the cover. There are 9 screws on the lower side, and after removing a keyboard there are 6 screws that must be removed. Before removing the top cover of the TouchPad must be disconnected.
Remove the disc on this procedure is very complicated unit and if you don t have much experience it will be best to contact some technician or a service partner to do this for you. The architecture of the laptop is very complicated and sensitive, and some hardware components can be damaged. Please be careful if do you it alone.

BSOD w / Satellite 1110 due to problem of DirectX graphics
Hello
I get repeated blue screens of death on my Satellite 1110 - Z15 w / Windows XP pro SP2 + all patches current + DirectX 9 .0c, when I play NFS Underground. The blue screen refers to ati3d1ag.dll, which is the DirectX driver, I guess. Unfortunately, via the Toshiba site there is only one very old (2 years?) accessible video driver, is anyone of you know of any chance to update the video driver or any other solution?
THX!
Hello
Someone on this forum had also the problem with playing the games on his laptop. NFS is very complex game and graphics card performance. Unfortunately, the generation of graphics card in your Machine is not powerful enough. Sorry, but I think there is no way to update your graphic card.
What you can do, is to change some parameters of the game (low resolution, no details or something like that).
I'm interesting on DirectX installed. You did some tests, such as DirectDraw or Direct3D display? Is there a problem?

CD/DVD-Rom on a Satellite 1110 laptop has stopped working
Hello
The CD/DVD-Rom on my satellite 1110 has suddenly stopped working. When I insert a cd or a dvd there is no activity in the drive and when I look in my computer there is no recognized files.
I used the Device Manager and it says that the device is working normally. It's like the PC just can't 'see' the camera more.
I used the program of troubleshooting without success and I was wondering if someone technically a little more spirit that had me ideas
See you soon
Rob
Hey, sorry cannot be of any help to you, but I'm having exactly the same problem. I can't find a place to download the new drivers.

New DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive satellite 1110 - Z20
Hallo,
I'm looking for a new drive combo DVD/CDRW for the Satellite 1110 - Z20.
Which firmware is necessary?
Which drive do you recommend?
Is it easy to replace?
Thank you very much
stunnerHello
Why do you ask the firmware? I put t think that the firmware of the player has something to do with the compatibility of the player.
The fact is that not every drive will run on the laptop because c - salt sensitive and master/slave settings. On the drives for desktop PC, you can change these settings by changing the jumper but on the portable readers it of not possible to change the settings.
In my manual, I found the player that is compatible for my laptop. Maybe it s also listed in the user manual you.
If this isn't the case, then contact the Toshiba service partner in your country to control the player compatible and taken in charge. Guys you can give an exactly the info about the supported drive. -
Could not load the device driver for DVD/CD-RW - Satellite 1110
I have a Satellite 1110 and something has gone wrong with my DVD/CDRW and it will not read any CD. It is reported as a CARPET * A UJDA730 DVD/CDRW but the device status is shown as:
"Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the device, but the error just return. I can't find a driver to make it on the web site of the manufacturer or Toshiba. I don't want to use the product recovery CD because it means I'm losing all software and data on the hard drive.
Can someone advise how to recover from this situation?
Thank you
Hello
First of all you n t a driver for the CD/DVD drive. The drive uses the standard Windows OS driver and it s not necessary to install additional.
I suppose that there could be something wrong with the registry entry. Please check this forum announcement:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=13843The user has used the statement that has been proposed on the site of Microsoft.
This should help. Please post again if this method is successful.

Satellite 1110 backlight problem?
Hello
I had a Toshiba Satellite 1110 for about 1 1/2 years and recently the screen went dark, it seems that the backlight has broken or come off. It sounds like it could be a problem with the LCD inverter (as a google search shows) and I was curious to know if my model would be accepted although it is not on it: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=UK&ID=FL_INVERTER_UK list?If this is not the case, this problem would be the title of the component Exchange program? The model is listed, but the symptoms are not the same as the link of mine: http://www.toshibadirect.com/content/pc/b2c/CEP.html
Edit: I live in the United Kingdom if that makes a difference
Any help would be great, thanks
Claire HarrisDear Claire,
The best way to solve your problem is to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. AFAIK all Toshiba laptops are covered by a two year European warranty. They can check your hardware of machine parts and exchange of defect.
Here you have the link to the database of the Toshiba Service partner
