Satellite A200 doesn't recognize USB input
My computer does not recognize when I plug in a USB stick or an MP3 player.
What can I do to fix this?
Have you tried different USB ports on your laptop?
What about the USB port State in Device Manager?
Are there any yellow exclamation marks?
If you would find any yellow exclamation point in device manager then this would mean that the work of t unit doesn't properly due to a software/hardware problem.
In most cases, it could be a software problem (driver is not installed correctly, etc.)
I recommend you this short work around:
-First disconnect all USB devices
-go to the Device Manager and remove all USB hubs and USB controllers in device list
-Close all windows, and then restart the laptop
-wait until the OS (operating system) is initialized and installed the USB ports.
-connect a USB device and test
Good luck

Re: Satellite A200 doesn't turn on
Hello
I have a Satellite A200-23V. All of a sudden, he lost his power while using it. Then it turns on again. I already removed the battery - only the power supply is connected, but still it won't turn. I don't know what happened. Someone at - he had this experience before? I would appreciate any input. Thank you.
Hello!
Try to remove the battery and the AC adapter, wait about an hour and then plug the battery and the AC adapter.
If it doesn't work you should go to an ASP (authorized service provider). It looks like a faulty motherboard.
Good bye

Satellite A200 doesn't stop when the power is connected
The Satellite A200 just stops, if the power cable is unplugged before you stop. If the laptop off and immediately restarts (max 5 seconds between stop and restart).
Anyone has the same strange problem?
Hi Thomas
You should definitely contact the ASP in your country. It is maybe something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard of s specifications.
As said John replacement must be done for free because the A200 is a new series and of the guarantee must be valid.
Good luck

Satellite A30: Does not recognize USB devices.
My computer does not recognize any devices when connected to the USB Port on my Satellite A30. After downloading SP2, I was able to install the printer, but I can't use it because there is no printer icon in the toolbar. If I want to print something I get the window of the printer, select printing, then it goes to the author of the Image of MS Office. Basically, I can't use my printer or any other device connected to a USB port.
However, it was working perfectly fine when I had the home edition of XP but I can not reinstall this one because there is something wrong with the recovery disk that's why I had to install XP Pro.
Also, I used to get a sound, letting me know that a device has been connected. I get more or the icon in the toolbar. Is that what I could do to fix this please? Is it possible to get another disc of recovery somehow? Obviously, it's something to do with XP Pro software, but I don't know what to do.
Could you please help me?Thank you!
Hello
If you get a window of the printer you need to select the right printer. If printing goes to MS Office Image writer so the right printer is not selected.
On the new installation: If you install the operating system from the original Windows CD you must install the necessary drivers and QFE patches all in the right order.
USB port: I found a useful paper on this topic:

Satellite A200 doesn't start and clicking noise
Problems with my A200 Satellite, which is about 2 years old. 2 days ago, only it beeps once. I have
continued his work then stop down without any problem. I rebooted again and had no problems. Then, since yesterday it will not passed Microsoft logo at the beginning upward. After waiting a while there is a click from him. Pretty much the same thing happened to me the year last with the same laptop. From scratch and reinstall the operating system solved the problem (so far).
Of course, I can do this again, but I want to know if it of a known problem with this type of laptop or is it something I'm doing unintentionally?
Thank you
Hello
You say about an entry by clicking on it. It can be HARD, I guess. I recommend you save all necessary staff if you have and be ready for its malfunction.

Re: My Satellite L350 does not recognize USB key
I have a Toshiba Satellite L350-235. It suddenly stopped recognizing my usb key that I use every day. Normally, he would say "new hardware found" and allow me to click on the F drive, now I get nothing!
Can someone advise me?
I guess that the USB ports are working properly if you connect another device; something like USB mouse. Right?
In my opinion, you should test the USB in USB ports.
You can also try to remove the USB controllers and hubs from the Device Manager list.
After restarting of new laptop, (ports) USB controllers must be recognized, and then you could connect and test the USB again. In the event that the USB is not recognized by one of the available USB ports, try to connect to another USB key.

After retrieving the Satellite A200 doesn't recognized partitions
Recently my A200 Satellite crashed, but since you are using the Windows recovery disc is no longer recognizing the partition that came pre-installed, and I can is more to move, copy, or delete files.
Someone at - it ideas?
Thank you.
Recovery image defines how the partitions will be created before the installation of recovery begins so you can install the OS using the 1000 times recovery disc and the result will always be the same.
After using the recovery installation, you can change the partitions, but after installing recovery image, you will have the same situation as before.
If I m remembering well after the installation of recovery, you will see two partitions on the HDD (C and D). Optical disc drive must be E. On the second partition D it will be copied recovery image and saved in folder HDDRecovery.Don t worry, everything is OK.

Satellite L300D will not recognize USB drive, except if the WIFI is disabled
I have a venerable L300D Satellite under Vista SP2. I also have a Fujitsu 40 GB SATA HDD of my old laptop in a USB2.0 caddy, with double USB plugs to require more current.
I can sign in successfully caddy USB to my laptop Windows 7 via a simple USB port on a USB 2.0 so I know it works.
On the Satellite L300D, it implements the Generic USB drive in Device Manager, but does not record the 2 disk partitions in the storage of files in Windows Explorer. In fact when you try and expand the COMPUTER in the Explorer it times out.
I noticed that the WLAN (Realtek TL8187B) is on the same USB 2.0 controller, so I disabled it. It turned off my wireless, but immediately the Windows Explorer was shot in life and I could access partitions (D:, and G :) may even run the check disk (no failures) and Defrag. As soon as I turn ON the WLAN driver disc fails to register.
I've updated the Realtek drivers on the Toshiba web site but I want a solution that allows me to use the disc AND the WIFI network at the same time.
Someone at - it ideas?
Hello Colin
Have you started using your laptop with the original version of Vista that you got with your laptop?
I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now but I've never noticed this issue although I use external hard drives and USB keys quite often.
Since when did you notice this kind of behavior? To be honest, I can't imagine that this problem persists since the day where we as original recovery image is tested and something like that should not happen. Maybe some updates may be responsible for this.Trying to remove driver WLAN, reinstall the chipset driver and reinstall WLAN driver. After doing this test he has once again please and send feedback.

Windows 7 doesn't recognize as input joystick, so constantly, the screen goes black
Unlike Windows XP (not sure on Vista), Windows 7 does not recognize he entered occurs when I use my controller. For this reason, my screen goes black every few minutes, as he would if I left the computer entirely. How can I get Windows to recognize the controller as input device, in the way that my keyboard and mouse?
I am aware that I can just turn off the screen saver, or remember to touch the mouse every few minutes. But workaround solutions, not solutions.
I just want to clarify the step 2 for everyone because he left me scrathing my head for a minute. Ignore the real joystick listed in Device Manager and expand Interface devices. In this list, you should see HID-compliant game controller. Make a right click Select properties, then continue to step 3.
hope that this clears up any confusion as if I had.

Satellite A200 - after the mouse USB Vista updates no longer works
After installing the latest updates Vista (KB938371), I discovered that my mouse USB (Genius Traveler) does not work. I can't restore the system (mistake) and this update cannot be removed. Other (flash disk) USB devices work correctly.
Could someone help me? Thank you.
Problem solved, I found this on another forum
+ Hi all, +.
+ I found the solution on another forum (forget which) and published this solution in multiple threads. The problem is, as indicated, a Human Interface Device in combination with update KB938371. After installing it, my usb mouse stopped working. Just go to the--> HID Device Manager - devices--> unknown device and looking for drivers. Vista won't find any drivers online, so you must get the drivers on your computer. The location of the driver (in most cases) will be C:/Windows/Winsxs. You will get a window saying: "this is an unsigned driver blah blah blah". Just install the driver. The mouse worked for me (even without reboot). +
