Satellite L550-1CC starts by checking the records of consistency

Hi all

I have a Satellite L550-1CC, running Windows 7.
Recently, the departure until I received the message "one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency", and then it runs a scan, and after 2 0r 3 minutes boots up to windows as usual.
This happens not all the time, but recently, more often.

I have a problem with my hard drive?
Any suggestions?

Hi shaun1d,

Have you noticed some unusual noise from the HARD drive?

I've never had such a problem on Windows 7, but it would be interesting to know if you can find some information about it in the same Windows Viewer.
Have you looked there already?

    Hello

AutoPlay does not appear when you insert a disc in the CD/DVD drive or use a USB more.
He used be ok up to 3 months ago.
I don't remember if I did anything to get rid of AutoPlay.

It is a satellite L550-1cc, windows 7. 64-bit operating system.

I went into Control Panel / hardware & audio / Auto Play and Auto Play's Ticked the box for all.
    Still no Auto game
Then go into My Computer directions click on DVD - RW drive / properties / material / click on TSST corp CD DVGW
TS-L633C. The display now indicates "this device now works correctly.
But there is STILL no Auto play.

Please anyone know where to go to the next, I'm lost?

    Thanks Martin

The AutoPlay option isn't appearing any more in Win 7 under the CD/DVD drive properties.
Auto Play located in the Panel as you suggested above.

    Panel-> AutoPlay
Here you must check the option called reading auto use for all devices and media

Now if you want to listen to an Audio CD, you must choose a default application for Audio CD. Here, change the option called choose a default of Windows Media Player, in case you want to use this software for automatic playback.

  • Satellite L550-1CC crashed - do not have Win 7 64 bit recovery disc

Just bought a laptop Toshiba L550-1CC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.
Other software had been installed on the 64-bit version and then the laptop crashed and seem to start with the OS but with a blank screen and only the Courvite of mice showing that could be moved.

Unfortunately, the laptop came with a Windows recovery disc 7 32 bit only.
This has been used to charge the cell phone who then worked well with all the software loaded into the hard.

It's my wife's new laptop and she would in reverse on the 64 bit version of Windows 7 which did not appear in the Toshiba recovery disc.

The partition of the HARD drive in the laptop has always hidden for access 64-bit original software and can make you a 64-bit recovery disc while the Toshiba is still running on 32-bit software. Having received only the new laptop, that I didn't want to spend another £30 on the purchase of a 64-bit recovery disc?

There have been any help to settle this with gratitude because I get heckled by the boss.

    Chris

    Hi Prassky,

If you start the recovery of HARD drive option, you should be able to restore Windows 7 64 bit. So I agree with Timox.

But I have a question: why you didn t create the recovery disk Toshiba for Windows 7 64 bit first? It seems that you didn t read the user manual

Anyway, to start the HARD drive recovery and hope that you will be able to create the recovery disk. If this isn't the case, you must order the Toshiba disk.

    You replaced the HARD drive.
That is fine, but did you install the operating system using recovery on this new HARD disk media?

  • Re: Satellite L550-113 - cursor jumps on the Page

I bought a Satellite L550-113 two weeks ago.

The laptop works well enough - except for one of the major problems:

Whenever I type text, my cursor flies all over the screen. Whenever I search in the keys, I find that the cursor is not where it is supposed to be. So, I constantly replace text.
The machine came with Vista, but I ordered the "free" Windows 7 upgrade He is yet to come (two weeks on; must come through pigeons - so the thirty quid postage costs).

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind regards

    Hello rich

This can happen if you touch the touchpad when writing. Before starting to write something to disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination.

  • Satellite A10 - failed at startup, check the system, then press F1

Hi, I have this laptop old to repair.

Main problem is that it starts. Display errors after all start-up:

-#1 error - broken cdrom IDE
-Check the system, then press F1 - ppl say it's a low cmos battery
-File Boot.ini file is missing - is unable to repair itself, so that the CD does not work.

Now, it looks like this. I turn on the laptop, shows the toshiba welcome screen, then theres the boot.ini of message end missing, begin on c:/windows and bam the phone keeps reseting showing again and again the same error. When I press ESC theres the message check system, then press F1 or IDE #1 - random error.

If anyone has had this problem, Ive looked on the internet but did not get a decent answer, what to do with these cases.
Looking forward to some good quality advice :)

    Hey,.

I think the case is clear: Windows may start t because the boot.ini file is missing. You would be able to repair this file or reinstall Windows, but your work isn't CD player I think you need to replace the CD/DVD drive to get rid of this error.

Then contact an authorized service provider, or take a look on eBay for second hand parts. Maybe you can find a compatible CD/DVD player that will work.
Then you can boot from the Windows disc and repair Windows System.

Of course, you can also restore factory settings using the Toshiba Recovery disk, but as a result, you must work of CD/DVD drive. ;)

  • Satellite A30 554: start and stop the question automatically

After about a year of use my computer laptop (Satellite A30 554) started having problems with the starter. Quite often when I turn it on cooler starts working and the LEDs are showing that the computer is on, but the screen remains black. Sometimes, I need to turn off the PC and on a couple of times so that he can start to begin. What is the reason for this and can it be resolved?

Once I had a problem with this computer off by itself while working, which was not caused by a virus. Some people advised me to vacuum clean :) under cooler. I did and it helped.

The problem was supposed to be linked to the dust on the heatsink, which does not allow that it works correctly. The current problem also connectable to the cooler, or is - it a motherboard problem?

    Hello

Generally speaking, if it starts and does even not initializing the monitor, or starts and turns off immediately, it could be the motherboard. It helps to remove each device at a time and try to start the computer. Sometimes when the parts become defective they still affect the ability to start. If, after removing all devices, that the problem persists, then your motherboard is faulty and must be replaced. Hope that fix you the problem.

  • Satellite U940 - cannot start or access the BIOS settings

I try to help with a HARD on a U940 disk failure. The laptop still works a failure has been (almost certainly) the entire HARD disk.

I have a new HARD drive in place but I'm unable to access BIOS, and the machine does not start of course. Just a black screen while the computer is trying to do something...

    • Then put the F2 on does not work
    • Then put the F12 on does not work
    • Then put the ESC on does not work
    • Out the battery did not work
    • Out the battery and the power cord and the discharge by pressing the power button / stop for 60 seconds, did not work.

I can't get to the BIOS. In my view, that the machine was based on the Intel hybrid disc stuff using the DDI in RAID before and this quick book has been activated. Of course, I am unable to clean the machine to stop more since I can't start up with the old drive.

What I really want to do, is to put everything back. Get rid of any RAID stuff and put Windows on the new HARD drive. Any ideas how I can get into the BIOS to move all of the RAID or FastBoot stuff?

Is it possible to disable hybrid sleep physically? Remove the CMOS battery? Replace the memory? I can't do it from the software or access the BIOS and I wonder if it is what keeps a clean boot.

  • Check the disk for consistency

I read messages will this question hide two to five years. I guess my problem is the same: black screen on startup with white 'BACK', writes, "one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You can cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. Windows will now check the disk. "What has happened three times in the last two months, and nothing was found in the mess at the end of the audit.

Responses to previous posts are frankly discouraging - at least for me. I want to know is if this disk check is a signal that all is not well with the computer, or if it's just a gene that will probably calm down. Would it not be in my interest to call a repairman? I'm not interested in venturing into the only registry.

    Thank you.

There is nothing remarkable or unusual in the chkdsk report, no bad sectors or the reported bad clusters.  Run the utility of diagnosis of the constructor on the drive and see if it reports disk problems, go to the web site of the manufacturer of the drive for the utility.

  • Re: Unable to get the wireless adapter to work on my Satellite L550-1CC

I'm getting bored with this laptop, I reinstalled windows 7 (32 bit) and can not get the wireless adapter to work.

My router settings are perfect, my netbook is zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - the laptop insists that there is "no available networks."

This of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.

Windows automatically installed the wireless network - I thought that could be the problem, so I downloaded the realtek driver directly.

No difference. Always the small icon with Red Cross barred through it.

I thought it could have been a hot key problem - so I installed the flash card driver that apparently controls the access keys (for some reason any).

Shortcut keys still don't work - I could really care about that - it's just the wireless network I need.

Thanks for any help I receive.

    > my netbook has zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - yet the laptop insists there is "no available networks."
After reading this sentence, I'm a bit confused. If there is no available WLAN networks how your laptop had zero problems to connect?

    One last thing:
    > Of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.
What is the difference between the old and the new installation of Windows?

In general the WLAN use is fairly simple.
Wireless network card - must be installed correctly (listed in Device Manager
WLAN card - must be enabled using FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card
-scan the available WLAN networks area, click on the button of your WLAN and use connect
-put key WLAN if necessary and after a few seconds WLAN connection will work

I did this many times on laptops preinstalled Win7 and didn't have any problems. On all laptop computers pre-installed with Toshiba recovery image (factory settings) is not necessary to change the WLAN settings.

  • Re: Satellite won't start because of the virus

One of my computer got a virus and it was spent on my Toshiba Satellite laptop by a USB.

Now when I turn on my laptop, the screen lights up, but remains empty (except the mouse).

I tried system restore - it did not work. I had three points to restrore - and each of them said that the restoration of the system did not work properly due to a system error.

I checked also the memory and everything - but I'm not avoiding the recovery of the system (the one where all the files will be deleted) that I desperately need to keep my files.

What can I do to solve my problem?

    Hello

I doubt that a virus could cause this problem
I mean the virus can damage the operating system pre-installed, but the laptop has yet to start.
The Toshiba recovery disc formats the entire HARD drive, and in this case the virus must be erased from the HARD disk too

But if you are not able to reinstall the OS and are not able to start using disks bootable like Win XP, Linux or Toshiba Recovery disk so I assumed that this problem could be linked to the issue of the material and not to any viruses on your HARD drive.

Then try to reinstall the OS and check it out!
