Satellite M60-162: the system hangs after connection of SD card

I at all, I have a problem when I insert an SD card in my toshiba, the system freezes. I try to install the drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site but the problem remains. The operating system is windows xp pro sp2.

Any ideas?

Hello

What SD card did you use? Maybe the laptop doesn't support the format of SD card? Check the manual for the supported cards.
Also, check the Device Manager. Check if the SD card controller is installed correctly. What you can do is to also update the SD card driver.

  • Portege M800 - the system hangs after connecting to fingerprint

I just got my Portege M800 weeks ago and frankly speaking, this model has been giving me a lot of trouble. Earlier, it's heat problem in the palm rest and there is no solution for it.

Now I am facing another problem with the connection of fingerprints. I'm running on Windows XP. I put the system must be locked after 5 minutes of inactivity. So normally after 5 minutes of inactivity, the system will have to be me to scan my fingerprint to open the windows. But there are moments which, after analysis of my fingerprints and put in correspondence with success, the screen will be just white (only show the desktop wallpaper). Not the desktop icons, no taskbar windows and nothing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up nothing and no answer even not a button. I tried to put the system to Hibernate by press the power button once as no response.

So I have to finally press and hold the power button to reset the laptop.

No matter which can help or give any idea of what was going on? Thank you!

    Hello

I believe that these issues are in the past fixed with the new version of the fingerprint reader. Have you tried to install the latest version or you already have?

  • Window remains white screen after starting windows screen. the system hangs after Mup.sys on safe mode

The title pretty much everything said.

The problem occurred on a fault that Dell Vostro 2510 with the additional option should only do the downgrade of Win Xp (from Vista).  As noted, on normal startup, the system will remain in a blank screen after the Windows Xp "loading" screen.  And on safe mode, it will join Mup.sys and then hang there.

The closest thing that I got from a web search was a thread in forum saying that the official info from Microsoft was that it was a question of Win Xp/motherboard (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/31874/?o=40 halfway to a post by Bobb Fwed).  The poster provided no link, so I don't know how official his info was really.

    Thank you

  • Vista SP2 enterprise. Updates to Windows from 11 August caused the system hang after starting.

Œuvres of mouse pointer, but the catch systems when I click on any element of the bar of tasks or office. OK works in safe mode. System Restore to a date before the updates does not help. I've eliminated all unnecessary programs in menu start, including NVIDIA drivers, but the problem persists.  Any suggestions?  Thank you!

    Hi Mathew and Imran;

Thank you.  After several reboots, add and remove services, I believe a solution to the problem.   It seems that McAfee Total Protection disliked among updates August 11... or the update did not like 'total Protection '.

After much frustration, I removed any trace of McAfee, first using windows uninstaller, then running the downloaded program to uninstall McAfee. I then installed Microsoft Security Essentials and downloaded and re-installed McAfee Site Advisor.

I don't think I have the same level of protection as I had before, but the system is faster and I think that I have an adequate level of security.  I'll leave it as it is for now.

I don't want this post as a blow against McAfee, they are an industry leader in computer security and 'Total Protection' provided exactly that.  We have a second PC in our House... material of identical office however, but under Vista Home Premium, whereas this one is running Vista Business.  Home Premium system runs 'Total Protection' and has not experienced the same problem, as the system of the company.  What's up mind dat?  It runs more slowly, probably because of McAfee files analysis procedures.

If Security Essentials works well in the coming months on this system, I can install it on the other system, as well as on my laptop.  In more than 10 years (from Windows 98 to Vista), we always used McAfee products and have NEVER had a viral infection.  Is it because of MCafee or our own due diligence?  Assume that this is not serious.

Thanks again for your help.  You got me on the right track!  Best regards... TeeDubTW

The netio.sys is a Windows driver that is involved in the "networking."

I would say to uninstall AVG and see if the accidents to solve.

  • Satellite M60-162: vertical and transparent stripe on the screen

    Hello

Satellite M60-162 appeared a transparent white vertical stripe on the screen of my laptop. The band is present at startup in the BIOS and in normal operation of the computer. How can I fix?

No doubt with the replacement of the screen.

A few years ago I had old Satellite M70 and it had a horizontal white line on the top of the screen. The line was also visible all the time, in the BIOS, when the home Toshiba screen showed and using OS.
I replaced the LCD screen and everything was OK again.

  • Satellite M60-162: problem gambling (game)

    Hello
I bought a Satellite M60-162 to use for work and a bit of entertainment (including games).
It happens that all types of game, I installed (Medal of honor, C & C Generals, Nba live 2005, MS Flight simulator 2004) breaks down when it is run (just click on 'play' and after a while, the game crashes). The installation program ends normally, but every game crashes.
The only game that works is 'The elder scrolls III - Morrowind '.
I have updated with patches - if available - all games without any profit.
I also updated the graphics (Ati mobility radeon 700) driver and installed the DirectX 9 .0c. Nothing has changed.
Finally, I ran a test for the graphics system (3D Mark 360) to check if there were hardware problems. All tests have passed.
I don't know what I could do to remedy this situation.
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello

Believe me it's not easy to say why it happens.
It could be a driver problem or a software problem (game). The only way to know why it happens is to test the device with different settings. Try using a lower screen resolution during the games. Try to change the game settings.

Windows XP performance settings that affect the visual appearance of the operating system, most of the games have buried in their menus of Options graphic settings. The trick is to find them.

I found a very useful and interesting article how to optimize the parameters of play for performance and looks. Please click the link:

  • Satellite M60-162 cooling fan

    Dear users of Toshiba,
is it normal that my Satellite M60-162 new cooling fan is often turned on and off with the normal energy profile selected in the toolbar State Windows XP?
Sometimes I want to turn off my Satellite only because I'm confused on the noise generated by the cooling fan!

    Kind regards.

    Hi Fabrice,.

Yes, it is quite normal that your fan to kick in all few minutes (my A30 will systematically even if only displays the desktop).

Toshiba power settings usually have a 'silent' option which helps to reduce the volume of fan activities (by slowing down the speed of the CPU) that can help, but it is still likely that the fan lights from time to time.

Excessive activity and the fan noise is a common problem that is often discussed in this forum and is probably the result of trying to put as much of hardware and software in such a small case.

    Kind regards

  • XP hangs after connecting an external hard drive via USB port

When I connect an external hard drive of 250GB via a USB port on my system XP - SP3, the computer crashes immediately after the sound signal from the recognition of a normal connection PnP. There is no assignment of the station. I don't know that he had worked as can be expected before. A new 500 GB external hard drive is recognized as new hardware, the driver installed and ready to use, but after that, the PC shuts down completely new. However, when I do a system startup after connection of the same two drives, everything looks OK. Also, no problem with a USB stick of 2 GB. How to find what's the problem?

Well - it's Windows for you, sometimes. :/

Good luck with your new installation!

  • System hangs after installation of security.

    My Dell computer freezes.
After the installation of Verizon's Internet security suite.
I restarted and was ased by adobe acorbat to install a undate immediately.
    I did and rebooted again.
Now when my office is ready, if I hit any key, the system hangs.
Can I restore back a few days in "safe mode" may solve my problem?

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.
