Satellite P100-194: bad image on TFT quality external to the analog port

Hello.

I see a flicker on my external monitor Hyundai L91A, especially on dark images, such as web pages with a black background. I installed the. INF. I changed the refresh rate of 60 to 75 and back. Automatic adjustment does not help. The TFT screen is connected to the analog port. With the laptop that I had before the Toshiba I did not have this problem.

What can be?

What about the internal laptop display? The flicker even appears on the screen of the laptop?
Have you used the original Toshiba display driver?
I think it s not a laptop issue but only the external display problem.
By the way; It s any refresh rate you will use. For TFT displays, the refresh rate is set to 60 Hz and you n t need to change. Discount quality will not change if you use 60 or 70 Hz

You can connect to another screen external TFT to you laptop to check if the same flicker will appear.
Then we could speculate it it s an analog channel or the external display issue

  • Satellite P100 - 194 defective Contact on the main power connector

    Hello

Two and a half years ago, I bought my Satellite P100-194. Yesterday, I noticed that I can't use my cell phone on my diet. At first, I thought power has left his job, so I opened it. Today, I checked the entire power supply with a voltmeter. It still seems to work, it gives me twenty-six volts at idle.

After that I checked the connector of my diet and I noticed that it seems not hold very tight in the case of the laptop. So I think that my connector has a contact in loose / faulty.
After that I googled to find some people with the same problem and it was written that Toshiba may fix this loose contact by changing the whole motherboard for about three hundred Euros.
Due to the fact that I am a student, I don't have that kind of money.

Have you any advice for me to get my laptop working again?
Or do you think I have a quite different problem?

    Thank you
    Bastian

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you should visit the nearest Toshiba service provider. Explain the situation and perhaps, they will be able to solve this problem without Exchange of motherboard.
Maybe they'll just resolder the connections.

Talk with them. Be just cool and pleasant. Maybe your charm will help you. ;)

  • Silent CD/DVD drive acoustic does not work on Satellite P100-194

    Satellite P100-194 (Win XP MCE, Bios-Version 2.20)

Given that excessive vibration of the drive DVD-Multi-with some of my DVDs and CDs, I would not use the acoustic silencer, but West no difference between Silent Mode and Normal Mode.

I tried to reinstall the silent acoustic tool, without success. As this problem starts to get really annoying, any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if the built-in-multi-DVD player is sensitive by default (sometimes entire Notepad starts vibrating combined with a noise level very high during playback of a dvd)?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi WB,.

I think that acoustic silencer simply limited the rate at which information can be obtained on CD/DVD in order to prevent the rotation high speed that can sometimes occur when extracting the CD or the DVD to the hard drive. If you're just watching DVDs (or listening to CD, by the way) then the speed of the drive will be not particularly high because once the buffer is full so there is no need to read more data from the disc itself. If you look at the car LED, you'll see that it only lights intermittently ever.

The speed of the drive will decrease during playback, as the laser reads information from the outer part of the disc surface.

The presence of noise and vibration normally indicates that the disk is "eccentric" or is not set centrally in the reader, and this may indicate a possible problem with the clamping mechanism itself. However, it is always worth checking that the center hole of the disc itself has no Burr or pieces of materila which he would lift off, and it is also useful to check if the label of the disc (assuming that it is a type of stick on paper) is properly attached and has no loops or bubbles in it since this may also cause noise of air.

I have the experience of a couple of game of CD-ROM discs that cause a lot of noise and vibrations in my book and recording, I found that the central hole was slightly shifted.

    Kind regards

  • Re: Satellite P100-194 PSP6AE sound does not work under Vista 32 bit

    Hello world

I got a nice Satellite P100 and configure Vista for a friend. I don't have the CD that came with the computer, so I installed those on the Toshiba site. I found out later that there is a proposed order of installations, and there is no chipset driver for Vista, so I used the XP one.
As far as I got, everything works fine but the laptop remains silent. There is no sound from the speakers at all. Windows says it all was going well and there is a level moving in the sound mixer, but he remains silent.

Does anyone have an idea what I could check or change? I would be very happy!

    Thanks in advance,
    Markus

From my point of view, there is a hardware malfunction.
Why? Because the sound through headphones. Therefore, it is not a software/driver problem.

But what you could do is to check the audio playback device by default:
Go to control panel of-> sound-> the Read tab
Here the speakers should be peripheral activated and chosen as a default value.

  • Satellite P100-276 - can't reinstall Vista from external CD drive

Cannot install external CD drive Vista
    Options
    ? 15/03/2013 15:03

My Toshiba P100-276 Vista Home Premium crashed for the last time, so I bought a new hard drive.
Internal CD player had not worked for some time, but had happened before.
It would always work again when I reinstalled Vista.
    Not now, however.
So my pc - guy installed the new drive and tried to install Vista from my USB - CDRom-drive.
Which has resulted in these messages:
    http://wikisend.com/download/996858/20130313_160410.jpg
    and:
    http://wikisend.com/download/363738/20130313_171457.jpg

Googleing it, it turns out that you can solve this problem by changing the 'compatibility' mode in the bios, but not in MY bios.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0402V30000R01NL.htm

Install a new CD player might settle it, but would be costly and complex at the same time.
I'm writing this using Ubuntu, who btw had no difficulties to install from the external drive.

    All solutions?

In the past, several people have reported the same problem.
Also, are you using the original recovery disk or the Microsoft installation disc?

The simplest solution is to buy the new optical disk drive. You can find it on eBay and it is cheap for this old machine. You can exchange it in 2 minutes, and everything will be OK again.

In the user s manuals document you can find a list of all compatible optical disk drives.
Satellite P100 is a fairly old machine, but if you use the original recovery disk it contains good SATA driver.

  • Satellite P100 - 194 PSPA6E does not start and will not let me install Windows

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite phone, witch, I got from my brother. I don't know what he did with it, but he does not know.

When I start the PXE - E61 "Media test failure, check cable" appears. In the BIOS I put in the directory Boot LAN mode on the last position, but despite this failure E61 appears.

I tried to reinstall Windows XP. The laptop started from the CD and the blue screen appeared and loaded XP drivers needed. But at the end of it, when you enter normally on the menu to choose where to install windows, the screen is black and in the upper left corner a small beam blinked on and outside and nothing happens plus.
The same thing happens when I leave the laptop HARD drive and start again from the XP installation CD but this time without the HARD disc logically.
So I thought that the HARD drive is broken and I put it in my desktop PC to test. I installed XP on the drive HARD Satellite in my PC, which worked without problems in my PC. So, I come to the conclusion that the HARD drive is not broken.
And my BIOS Satellite detects my HARD drive and displays the name of it.

But what is the problem with the laptop when it is not the HARD drive and BIOS show the good name of the HARD drive? Can someone help me please?

    Hello

The story is very strange boyfriend generally that the PXE error if the laptop tries to boot from LAN. But in the case where starting LAN source in unavailable, the PXE error appears and shows this message.

Usually, the BIOS passes LAN Boot option because the other options are not active. This means that the CD/DVD drive does not any bootable disk and the HARD disk is dead.

So, as you can see you hypothesis was right that the HARD drive could be faulty

In any case, try to access the BIOS and set it to the default settings save changes and then try to reinstall Windows XP.
You might also try another HARD drive, I know as your fist HDD recognized correctly but it s worth a try to test the 2nd HARD drive.

  • I can not turn off the microphone on Satellite p100-194

No matter what I do, I can't turn off the microphone of shit, he's always watching on my speakers, I have all the right settings in the sound control panel... believe me!

Does anyone know how to disable the security...

    * monitor on my speakers even when I uninstalled all the sounddrivers! ... * it seems to be a bios problem... HEEEEELP!

is there perhaps a bios fix?... or no solution at all on this model, I use win 7 32 bit...

    Hi leon-k,.

Usually, you can cut the speakers in the Windows sound settings. Go to control panel > hardware and sound > sound.

Now, choose the recording tab as Akuma written and click Properties > listen. On this tab, you can change the volume and disable the microphone set.

  • How to clean the cooler on Satellite P100-194

How can I clean the mouths of aeration and - outputs without losing the warranty?

    Hello

Don t open remove it from notebook or don t no cover if you n t want to lose guarantee!
I cleaned my cooling modules and fans with the vacuum cleaner.
But beware, the strong suction can damage bearings fan.

But look, man, if you n t know how to do and have no practical knowledge so I recommend a technician seeking professional help and cleaning!

  • Fan does not stop on Satellite P100-194

How can I stop the fan? It works very, independent of all the parameters of CPU speed or powermizer settings. Is not very strong but quite hard to hear.

Is there an improvement in the update of the BIOS of the 27.7.2006 or what else can I do to stop the fan?
I tried with NHC as I did with my other laptop, here it worked perfectly.

    Hello

First of all, it would be nice to know your name detailed for laptop.
Also if fans run every time so I guess that it of necessary to cool the CPU.
You wrote something about powermizer settings.
On Toshiba laptops, you should find the Toshiba Power saver. There you can change the settings for each power mode.
Also if she won't help so I would recommend comparing the visions of the BIOS of your laptop and on the page of Toshiba.
If there is a newer version, so you should try to update the BIOS.
Be careful! Make sure you use the good BIOS and the proper procedure!

If after updating the BIOS the fans won't be won't stop or will work continuously if you could check in the grids of cooling modules. Eventually, the dust and debris inside the laptop is responsible for this issue.
In this case, you can try to use carefully vacuuming to clean the fans.

In addition the square around the laptop must be free due to the circulation of air.

  • Satellite P100-194: Dual Core processor T2400 1, 83GHz: what do the 993 MHz means?

The two T2400 are still running on 1, 83GHz. Or am I wrong? On-screen "Systemeigenschaften" in the "Général" tab it looks like this: TOSHIBA PC Genuine Intel(r) CPU T2400 @ 1.83 GHz 993 MHz, 1.00 GB RAM. "" What do mean 993 MHz?
It doesn't matter if the notebook is on battery or AC.

No, not two hearts are run with 1.8 GHz, but the two together!
Two hearts are lower automatically and independently of each other by measures to speed up to 1 GHz.

  • Satellite A200 - 26 d - error code 19 Device Manager on the USB ports

I decided to try Windows 7, but the usb ports do not work in Device Manager all the usb root hubs have a yellow triangle and the State of the device says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

I tried to uninstall via the Device Manager and restart the computer and download and reinstall the drivers for vista, because I can't seem to find the drivers for Windows 7, but none of this fixed anything. I was wondering if there was something else I could try or if I could get a link for the correct drivers.

    Hey JP317!

If it didn t work removing the USB ports in Device Manager and restart the laptop, you should try to update the chipset drivers because they are usually a part of it.

So check the site Web of Intel for an update and you should also find Windows 7 drivers.

  • Satellite P100-160 - screen Vertical burst

Satellite P100-160 my son has developed a fault on the screen that no one seems able to identify the cause of.

If you imagine that the screen is divided into six equal vertical columns about 3 inches wide, the third vibrates from top down so that the image is blurry. Sometimes it stops after an hour - but recently it just keeps going. The other "columns" are very good. What is the screen itself (easily replaceable), or the video card (on the motherboard) or another component such as the inverter?
For now I'm not sure if scrap it and buy a new one or replace the screen.

    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

I think that the best way to address this issue must connect to an external monitor to your laptop. If you notice the same problem on external monitor the problem is related to the graphics card itself. If the display is faulty and must be replaced.

Then connect an external monitor and check what's happening!
