Satellite Pro C660-299 - how to turn the wi - fi module?

Hello!

How can I turn my wifi module?
My Wifi is by default active, but sometimes I have to disable to connect LAN instead of Wifi and I can´t.
When I click Fn + F8, the only icon that appears is the icon to right/turn off bluetooth.

Can anyone help?

Thank you very much

Strange.
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?
Card WLAN registered and activated correctly in Device Manager?

  • Satellite Pro C660-1JL - how to change the language of Windows 7?

    Hello

I bought Toshiba preinstalled official Windows 7 Professional 64 service Pack 1. And I would like to change the language from German to the Russia.
In accordance with the instructions of the microsoft home page I could not get the result. MUI Pack does not appear when you are looking for Windows updated (some other updates are available only, but not language pack)...

What would you recommend how to fix this?
    Its Satellite Pro C660-1JL

    Hey,.

    > I bought Toshiba preinstalled official Windows 7 Professional 64 service Pack 1
You can change the language on Windows 7 Professional t, this is possible on Windows 7 Enterprise (volume license) and Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

So if you want another language, buy Windows 7 Ultimate or be happy with the current language of Windows 7 Professional. ;)

  • Satellite Pro C660 bricked by update of the BIOS that failed

My sister asked me to update his laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-16N; The part number PSC0ME-01S00SEN) of Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) of Windows 8 (64-bit).
    So I did.

Then I went UK from Toshiba Web site to check if there are any drivers I had to install for Windows 8. The only one was an update of the BIOS (for BIOS v1.70). I don't know what was the previous BIOS version number.

So I run the update application in Windows 8. Phoenix WinPhlash Technologies starts and then in the middle of the update, everything freezes.

The trackpad would not move the cursor or anything like that. I had no choice but to disconnect the phone from the wall and remove the battery. The laptop is not under warranty.

Of course, now it won't turn. It will beep once when I press the power button, but the system does not light. A few minutes later, it looks like one long beep and two short beeps. It then keeps repeating this sequence every two minutes "one long beep, 2 short beeps".

I google and read the site after the blog after the post on the forum, but nothing works. Links to the software offered on these forums/blogs/Web sites in french are usually dead, so I can't try what they suggest.

The most common solution is the Phoenix crisis recovery tool. I managed to download v1.0.0.4 which is supposed to allow me to make a bootable USB key. The version of this tool that I downloaded is supposed to be for a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. I have the correct BIOS.rom to C660 Pro Satellite (I renamed BIOS.wph and copied to the appropriate folder).

I followed all the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work. Some sites say if it happens, I have the wrong version of phlash16.exe. Some other sites say that HP Boot Disk USB Utility should be used, but I don't know how to use it.

What I really need, is a definitive step by step foolproof guide to know what to do, with links to the files/tools to use for this model of laptop. I will follow this blindly (which I don't really understand what makes each step, I just do it with no understanding,) so if anyone can help me with this, please write a guide like an idiot!

If anyone can help me with this, I appreciate it. I'm really in a difficult situation - I can't really afford to pay a Toshiba ASP to fix it, and I can't afford a new laptop certainly. But I also couldn't bring myself to tell my sister, ' it's broken, deal!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite Pro C660-1NQ does not detect the WLan network

    Hi guys,.

We have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1NQ here that does not at all, detect the wireless network
I checked the Device Manager and the wireless card does not show here.

I tried scanning for new hardware, but nothing was found. I tried to turn the wireless off tension with the function and the keys F8 but not yet showing in Manager devices or any new hardware...

Any ideas as to what I can try next?

    See you soon,.
    Ash

    Hello

It seems that the laptop would support the Wlan Atheros 802.11agn card.
Usually the Atheros Wlan card must appear in Device Manager as on the menu network cards.
If it s not appear do not then I recommend that you install the WLAN driver which can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Choose the Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter Windows 7 (32/64) 9.2.0.419.0 or newer
I hope this helps to detect the WiFi chip!

  • Satellite Pro C660 - 21(d): question about the partitions on the HARD disk

    Hello

    I just started using my new satellite pro c660 - 21 d

    My office has drive c, d, u, s
    C either windows 7, Vista D
The drive U is 342 meg in size

I didn't have the disk in two 230 gig drive so thoughtless narrowed C drive of 70 GB and D drive with 10 gig (it's the primary recovery partition

I have now two empty partitions of 170 Gig (from c drive)
and 214 Gig (from d drive)
But windows will only allow me to add one as a disc of the user
He says may not have more than 4

The reason for being there is a partition of Active recovery without letter.

I can't unshrink drive C or drive D then I went with 170 GB of unused space.

I guess that a solution would be to lose the data disk 10 gig that contains the recovery software but then I don't have a backup.

Suggestions as to what I could do to work around this problem.

I am now under the Create recovery disks (2 of them) so maybe I could remove one of the partitions after.

I don't know why he answered instead of edition, but if the recovery disc creation complete with no errors, I can remove the hard drive?

  • Satellite Pro S500-14Z - how to access the BIOS?

    Hello

on the Satellite Pro S500-14Z I can´t access the BIOS via F2 and can´t change the bootpriority through F12. By pressing F2 or F12 during startup, the S500 beeps and restarts. When you first start, I had access to the Bios and set the password and active supervisor module TPM. Since I have no access to the BIOS before Windows starts. Is there another key to access bios (I tried ESC, DEL, F1, INS) or how can I change the pw supervisor (I know my real password!) and disable the TPM?

    Thank you
    Karl

    Hi karlS_1,

Normally you can access the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows starts. It works with an external keyboard?

You can change some settings in the BIOS using Toshiba HWsetup. This tool is preinstalled on your laptop and you can change the order of boot with this tool.

  • Satellite Pro S500-10F: how to disable the fingerprint reader

We just purchased a portable Satellite Pro S500-10 which has the fingerprint reader. Does anyone know how we can disable this facility of the laptop, we do not remove program only disable the installation.

    Thank you

You can disable it in Device Manager. If it's not ideal, I guess you could send the laptop to an ASP to have the fingerprint reader physically disconnected.

  • Satellite Pro L50 - a: how to replace the memory, HARD drive and battery

I just uploaded 2 new video from Youtube on the L50 - A. Satellite Pro

The first is a tear down showing how to replace the memory, hard drive and battery (you can also clean the fan if it detects overheating).

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=IG0lW7t92bI

BTW why they made it so difficult to get just to the battery in this model?

WARNING - proceed at your own risk and don't forget static precautions!

Hope they help and if you have any questions let me know.

Thanks for these videos. It may be useful to replace the memory, but I think that the owners of the laptop should not open the case. This may void the warranty.
    Be careful about this.

  • Satellite Pro A60-221 - how to reflash the BIOS?

    Hello

I was installing a new fresh OS on a Satellite Pro A60-221(PSA65E-02E03TFR), I wanted to take it seriously, so I tried to update the BIOS. I used the program given by Toshiba in a zip file: bios - 20070808110029.zip, the program is called: Osaka20V190.exe.
I run it, in the end, the computer turned off, so I reboot it. Since then the computer do 4 beeps, 1 long 1 short 1 long anda the last short I think that the shutdown of the computer itself.

So I think that I should have made a huge mistake (perhaps because that I run Osaka20V190.exe directly in the zipfile whithout put on the desktop for example, stupid, stupid, stupid...), and my question is:
Is it possible to Flash the bios to the default without having to start the computer? As in a motherboard, you can put a jumper between the two pins?

If the answer is already in this forum, I'm really sorry to bother you, I searched in the pro A60 series but could not find.

    Best regards.

    Hi hyeud,

    > maybe because that I run Osaka20V190.exe directly in the file zip whithout to put it on the desktop for example
Yes, generally all the files of zip archive must be extracted first before starting the update, but now it s too late

Such a reflash BIOS what you hear can only be initiated because on the Toshiba authorised service provider Web site, you can download a Windows based BIOS update.

To contact the closest service provider authorized in your country. Guys can you help you get rid of this problem. :)

  • Satellite Pro M40x-115: how to get the color seen on TV?

    Hello

I would like to use my laptop (satellite pro M40x-115) as a DVD player. But when I connect my laptop to my TV, I get only a black and white display. I tried to solve this problem by installing the latest driver for my graphics card but it has not changed at all.

    How can I solve this?

    Greetz El Mariachi

    Hello

Have you checked the graphics settings? The settings of the TV must be set to PAL (most of Europe).
In addition, you should check your TV device if it s can receive the S-video signal.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: Bluetooth - how to connect the mobile phone

I already have a satellite pro 6100 with the bluetooth software on. I tried to connect to my mobile phone without success. The problem seems to be with the laptop rather than the phone.
How can I connect successfully. I have to update the new drivers? I bought it refurbished 3 years ago and I'm just getting round to the use of bluetooth!

Well, the Bluetooth software has been installed on your laptop, BUT the question is:
Your group has installed Bluetooth card?

AFAIK the Bluetooth is an option available on this unit. You must check the Device Manager and check the bottom of the unit if the Bluetooth label has been placed.

I think that you cannot connect your mobile phone because BT is not available.

  • Satellite Pro M70-220 - how to start the Advanced Boot Menu

Which key have to press on my Satellite Pro M70 - 220 starting Win XP, in order to enter the "Advanced Start Menu" - in other words, the menu that gives various boot options, such as safe, last good start Congiguration, start Windows Normal Mode, etc. ?

On my old laptop Satellite 5105 - S702, it was the F8 key, but by pressing the F8 key on my M70 Pro does not bring up the 'Start Advanced Menu".

The Advanced Start Menu came on its own a few days previously after an abnormal stop, so it seems that it does not exist on the M70 Pro.

Thanks for any advice anyone has to offer.

    AlanCB

    Hello

The Advanced Boot Menu can be reached by pressing the F8 key.
It s a Windows menu basic and it s any laptop it is.
It should work on all computers.

Maybe you can not activate the Start Menu advanced because the Windows operating system is confused upward.

  • Satellite Pro A100 PSAASE: How to get the FN keys work in Win XP

    Hey,.

I bought the PSAASE Satellite Pro A100-00H004GR and killed Win Vista. Now it's Windows XP Pro!

There is no Win XP Modem drivers on the Toshiba Page for this model, but I solved this problem by myself.

No idea what to do now?

Full Support of driver for each model would be great...

    Thank you

Hi I found the usefulness of Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 PSAA3 shortcut keys.
It is not the same series, but try to install it. Maybe it will work!
