  • Satellite P300D - h - 13 (PSPDCE) - cannot use full 8 GB of RAM

    Hello!

Originally on my laptop's RAM 2x2gb. Given that the fromToshiba of the said sheet max of 8 GB (8192 MB) of RAM (DDR2) is possible, I bought 2 x 4 GB (800 MHz, CL6, DDR2, SoDimm - specifications are the same as the original ones). After installation I tried to start the computer, so it is passed the POST and BIOS see all 8192 MB and when it starts to boot the operating system it just go in to reset. I can stop it with button / stop. The installed operating system is Windows 7 64 bit. I also tried with Linux and had the same problem. I tried with only one set of 4GB (but two of them), but still no luck. New memmory is correct because I tested it on another computer and it works without any problem. So there must be a computer problem. I have the latest BIOS 3.30. I called toshiba and they said it should work with any producer's memory as long as they are DDR2 SoDimm.

No idea what can be wrong or todo?

    Hey Buddy,

If Windows doesn't start with new RAM modules, this could mean that the RAM modules are faulty or not compatible with the laptop itself. All the modules of memory compatible with all laptops. What brand of memory is?

In your case I would try it with pre-tested Toshiba memory modules. You can buy these modules to a service allowed in your country. I searched a bit using Google and the part number for 4 GB of DDR2-800 is PA3670U-1M4G.

The BIOS displays the amount properly - 4096 Mb.
I also tried to solve the problem of updating the BIOS to the latest version (3.80, 30/05/08), but two operating systems (Windows and Ubuntu) see still 3.2 GB only.

    That s nothing unusual!
That s a limitation of 32-bit. All operating systems 32-bit (no matter if it is Vista, XP or Linux) can manage 3.2 GB max.
Only a 64-bit OS might be able to use and recognize more than 3.2 GB of RAM

You should read a few articles about 32 bit OS and 4 GB RAM problem.

  • How to find the driver of modem of Toshiba Satellite U305-S7432 for Suse operating system?

    Best regards. ;)

    Hey Buddy

Unfortunately, it seems that Linux is not supported by Toshiba and so there is no Linux drivers published on the page of the driver.

If you need some drivers, I would recommend looking at the sites of chip manufacturing.

But visit these Internet sites about Linux on Toshiba laptops:

  • How to get the drivers on my Satellite U305?

    Hello

I have trouble with my Toshiba Satellite U305. My laptop using vista OS but after formatting hard drive, I can't find the driver as web cam etc. So what do I do with my laptop driver on the HARD disk, I see a hidden partition which is like the hidden driver?

How can I get this driver for my laptop?

    Hello

The situation is more complex than what it look like. Toshiba does not create a partition hidden with the list of drivers. What should I Toshiba is to place the complete recovery on the second partition image. This partition is visible. I am not sure how she look like models of laptop computers in the United States, but on European models, this image is saved in the folder called HDDRecovery.

I'm afraid that you write on the hidden WinRE partition, but it has nothing to do with the drivers of Toshiba. I think that you have deleted the recovery image, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do now to get it back. I'm afraid you need to install your own operating system by using the Microsoft DVD facilities. all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba support page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp.

If you have any other questions please post again.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite U305-S7432 freezes and does not sometimes using Win XP

    Hello.

    I have a portable Satellite U305-S7432.
Initially, it came with Vista, but I reformatted with XP Pro. I have installed all updates up to service pack 3.

My problem is that sometimes when I try to restart the computer, simply, it freezes and does not meet any entry. I noticed that this happens if I close and then open the cover (which means that the computer goes mode sleep entry and returns).

Please note that the splash screen works perfectly well and the computer wakes from sleep fine but then when I try to restart, the computer will simply spend time instead of restart.

If it goes into sleep mode, reboot takes place as planned.

I installed all the drivers and there is no question mark in Device Manager. I've updated the latest chipset from Intel (for the mobile 965) driver as well. Finally, I also tried to add /forceresetreg my Boot.ini file (as suggested: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822624) but nothing helps.

    Any ideas?

It is a series of laptop computers Toshiba us and you should check the Toshiba driver page for available drivers:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

If you will not find XP drivers for this page, then you can try to install unique drivers for Sat U300 since European Toshiba page but I not quite sure if these drivers XP will work on you Sat U305 Mr. but it s worth a try!

    Good luck

  • Satellite U305-S5127 - where can I activate the HDMI?

I have Satellite U305-S5127 and I am trying to connect my laptop to the TV via d - sub to I just bought a hdmi cable. I can't get the image on the TV. I installed the HDMI Control Manager, but he always asks me to allow HDMI.

    Where do I active HDMI?

    Hi genije011,

Hmm why you installed the HDMI Control Manager?
According to your assignment, you use a (portable) D - SUB cable to HDMI (TV), right? That means your laptop doesn't have an HDMI port, so there is nothing that you can turn on HDMI on your computer.

I have never this HDMI VGA cable but normally if you have connected the cable for the two devices, press FN + F5 to switch between monitors.

If your TV is also equipped with a normal D - SUB port you should try it without adapter and D - SUB cable only.

It's certainly a Toshiba laptop we.
You must use the Toshiba site for the driver download.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

1 - system base of the unit is usually the SD card controller. I think that you need to install the driver for the SD card.

    2. If you have installed the LAN card driver, then you need to install additional WLan card driver. For this check first of all that the WiFi card has been installed and visit the WLan card manufacturing site for the XP driver.
Or this portal Toshiba WLan site:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

3 SM bus controller-> install compatible utility Intel chipset. This can be found on the Intel page.

5 and 6, the graphics driver are on the site of graphics card manufacturer. If this laptop is fitted with eth GPU Intel download the driver from the Intel page!

the model is - Toshiba Satellite U305-S2808

    Hello

Your story is a bit confusing.

    But let's talk about facts;
Firstly if you have set the BIOS password, you should be able to remove it in the BIOS if the BIOS password is known to you.

If the BIOS password is not known to you, you will not be able to withdraw without further support from the authorized Toshiba maintainer. The BIOS password must be removed using a special procedure and tools and it can be done ONLY by an ASP.
I think it should be clear now.

So if you want to remove the BIOS password, and the password is not known to you, you need the ASP and you will be charged for this.

Unfortunately, you will need the help of ASP.

  • Satellite U305 S7446 - internal keyboard delivers outdoor work but

I'm having a problem with my keyboard on my Satellite U305 S7446, that I bought in 2007 in the United States. I live in Ireland. It is rarely used agao and 2 weeks, I discovered that my keyboard has become intermittent and sometimes would not work. The touchpad is very well. Due to various problems with VISTA, I reinstalled the operating system and drivers but could not complete the installation because I had no keyboard. I left the PC for a few days, then after you have started upward the keyboard worked. I finished the installation process and the keyboard is arrested again. Via the Device Manager I uninstalled the keyboard and after the next boot it automatically installed the driver but did not remedy the problem.

Then I discovered through frustration that I press the Play/Pause button on the Panel above the function keys the keyboard work again. It's curious me because I don't know if there is no connection between the keyboard and the audio Panel. Lock button starts blinking during the boot process the CAPS, but in the end, the keyboard the more often is dead until I type the above key. Even after obtaining the functionality back he stops from time to time and a pat on the Play/Pause button will restore it normally.

I went to PC world today and they said it will cost me at least 300 euros and maybe more to fix everything that is bad.

External keyboard will work but who wants to keep carrying one around.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you.

    Hello

This very strange boyfriend s, but to me it sounds like that, the keyboard is defective. I mean normally during installation, the keyboard should work without any problem.

Have you tried an external keyboard that works which means that the internal keyboard is defective.

To check the laptop, you can go to an authorized service provider. On the Toshiba site you can search for one.
Normally a new keyboard isn't so expensive and perhaps you can sent if the keyboard isn't defective.

  • Satellite U305 - new Intel drivers are not validated

I have a problem installing the latest graphics drivers for the Intel 965 express. Whenever I get a message that the driver is not validated for this computer.
I got my drivers directly from the Intel site because those are the most recent (Toshiba site gives 2007 drivers only), but they did not work.
Looks somehow Toshiba blocks this driver for a reason, but I do not know why

Installation of Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit)

    Hello!

I had the same problem on my laptop Satellite U400. I solved this problem on this way:

Before I installed the new driver I deleted the old version. You should find it in Control Panel > Add/Remove programs. Then, restart your laptop.
After reboot, you will get the error message I think but, you can install the driver manual. Go to Device Manager, select the graphics card. Click on set to update driver and use the Advanced installation. In the next windows choose the driver directory yourself.

After restarting the laptop the new driver must be installed.

  • Xcdt satellite 2540 - USB port to use a USB key?

Hello... I would like to give my old Tohsiba (Satellite 2540XCDT) my aunt to use either a connection dial-up / ADSL / ADSL2.

It has a USB port - this port can be enabled to take a USB? Download a driver for it? Where can I find a driver for this system?

(Recently I hooked a new Lexmark printer into the USB port and managed to get the printer doesn't work after loading software CD - a little slower than the old connection with the HP Inkject printer, but works nevertheless.) .... Made me think that maybe I could get a memory stick for this?

Also... Any chance I can still switch from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 online? And it would help at all with performance improvement? Or cause complications more?

And... ADSL or ADSL2 will be better than just using a slow dial-up? (or is this old system quite simply too slow anyway?)

... It used to work fine on just dial-up, although the memory buffer (or course) on video content - and I always think that one probably even with ADSL/2?) ... But things have changed there! (my new Toshiba Satellite XP a is zero, so I don't know how this old system would work these days?) Any comments?

    Hello

    > It has a USB port - this port can be enabled to take a USB? Download a driver for it? Where can I find a driver for this system?

Looks like you are using Win 98 OS is usually very old new Microsoft operating systems; Windows Me, 2000, XP and Vista include the Generic USB drivers and it is not necessary to install any USB drivers but more old OS like Win 95 or 98 needs USB drivers Win

    See this page:
    http://www.technical-assistance.co.UK/KB/usbmsd98.php

You would be able to download the USB drivers to use the USB flash memory.

    > Any chance I can still switch from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 online
No, I don't think this is possible if you want to use W2K then you need to purchase this OS, but since it is an old OS I doubt you could buy this OS.
