  Originally on my laptop's RAM 2x2gb. I can stop it with button / stop. The installed operating system is Windows 7 64 bit. I also tried with Linux and had the same problem. I tried with only one set of 4GB (but two of them), but still no luck. New memmory is correct because I tested it on another computer and it works without any problem. So there must be a computer problem. I have the latest BIOS 3.30. I called toshiba and they said it should work with any producer's memory as long as they are DDR2 SoDimm.

  If Windows doesn't start with new RAM modules, this could mean that the RAM modules are faulty or not compatible with the laptop itself. All the modules of memory compatible with all laptops. What brand of memory is?

  Timox is right: the RAID driver must be added during the installation of Windows XP.

  Very important note: do not format the HARD drive once the RAID driver has been added because this would remove the RAID driver from the HARD drive and installing Windows XP will fail again.

  I'm not quite sure of HDMI and Port Replicator (PA3838E-1PRP) but many laptops equipped with support DVI dual video output (VGA and DVI) port using Advanced Port Replicator III (PA3314E-1PRP) or Advanced Port Replicator III more (PA3474E-1PRP).
  But this is only possible if the laptop itself supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI too.

  Protected M400 supports the RAID.
  Need RAID driver RAID and without the RAID driver the HARD drive is not visible for the installation of the OS.
