Scan size

Hello

I have this problem and I hope someone could give me some advice.
When I scan locally I get a normal size file, around 50K, but when I scan
remotely, the average size is about 2 to 2.5 MB.
I lowered the resolution, I tried different software, but the results are
Always the same. Local file small huge remote file.

Thank you for your suggestions, Alex

There are many different variables when you talk about the size of a scanned image. The largest is usually the format the file is saved in (bitmap, .jpg, .tif, etc.), it is a function of the scanning application so that we would not be able to help with this. With RemoteScan, you want to make sure that you bring the customer RemoteScan User Interface (if it does not automatically appear, some applications of scanning will delete it) and make sure you use black and white with the lowest possible resolution). You can also choose to use 'compression' If you want to scan color images, there is an option in all newer versions of RemoteScan server.

  • Size legal vs siz regular scan

Most of my scanning UIS of regular size (8 1/2 X 11) to my computer.  However, if I scan it treats the item scanned as legal size (8 1/2 X 14).  This creates a large empty space downstairs and is a problem if I copy the scan of a regular size page.

  • HP Envy 5530: Question of scanning

    Hello @Felicite,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that, in the scanning of your e-all-in-one printer of HP ENVY 5530 to your computer Windows 8 you are not able to get the scanning full page appears correctly on your computer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. The HP scanning software is probably set to an option of cropping so rather than scan the entire document into your computer, the software is cropping some sections. To ensure that all HP scanning settings are configured correctly for the scans of success please can I you follow the steps below.

    1. on the desktop of your computer, please click on the HP Envy printer Assistant icon

    2. When The HP Printer Wizard opens, click scan a Document or Photo

    3. in the HP scanning software click Photo to the file or Document to the file and check the setting of the Scan size above left. Try this setting on any scanning area.

    4. prior to Scan, click on Advanced settings down right. In the window parameters advanced search to optimize the quality of the Image at the top. If this box is checked, please uncheck it. If it is not checked, please check. To the substantive aspect for car culture. If this box is checked, please uncheck. If it is currently disabled, please check. Click OK at the bottom. Click analysis.

Scan from the front panel of your printer will mimic just the settings under the HP software on your computer. Once you set the settings in the HP scanning software they should take effect when you scan from the front panel of your printer.

Please let me know if these steps don't resolve your problem. Good luck!

  • OfficeJet 5740: Y at - it a Fit - to - Page Scan Option?

When I scanned a form of Government that is located on a sheet of 8.5 "x 11", but has only a 1/4 "left, right, top of page margins and 1/8" margin on the bottom, the preview shows low 1.5"shape and the part of the text on the side cut margins.

I selected the option "Save as PDF."

I could not find a Fit-to-Page or by percentage of reduction options in scanning settings. I found "Letter (8.5 x 11) Portrait" and options "any scanning area.  I tried all of them with the same above result.  The option "Custom scan size" condition to select a width and a length, which would have been 8.5 and 11, the same that had been previously used, specific it so was not tested.

I need all the text on the worksheet to display.

    Hey @Erislandy,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject. I've experienced with the Officejets Printer Status Report that has no margin on the left side and 't' bars at the top and bottom of the page. The 't' bars are used for alignment. As a result, there are very little margin. In saying this, I'll make you confirm that the page is loaded correctly on the scanner glass.

Place the item with the print side face down on the scanner glass, and then place it according to the guides engraved around the glass. Close the scanner cover.

If you have been loading the page correctly on the glass of the scanner nothing helps, I highly recommend at this time that you contact our Technical Support telephone queue for this problem. Through our hotline, you will be able to do a session remotely with the agent who, with your permission, would allow the agent to go through the process of scanning with you and find out what is happening on your computer. It will be much easier for testing and troubleshooting for this specific problem.

  • OfficeJet 8600 (911) no full scan sheet A4

How can I configure the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 to scan an A4 page in PDF format?

Scans sizes (i.e. the size of the scanned area) of glass are:

    JPG:
    21.6 x 29.7 cm; 8.5 x 11.7 in
    PDF:
    21.6 x 28.0 cm; 8.5 x 11.0 in

i.e. to scan A4 document in PDF will be too short about 1/2 inch.

    ADF has produced similar results.

The scan to PDF is format 'Letter', not 'A4' format, even if the device was announced, sold and purchased for the purpose of scanning 216 x 297 mm (8.5 x 11.7 inches) regardless of the output format.

    Pekka

    Hello

The unit supported an A4 page scan, that need to be addressed by means of the HP scanning software.

The software of the printer, click on scan a document or photo, and select PDF, set the Scan Source as flat glass and the scan size as A4 (equivalent to 8.3 x 11.7 inches).

By selecting the letter will cause us a page 8.5 x 11.7 inches.

Selection to scan the whole glass Scan will cause a page of 8,11 x 11.7 inches.

You can see the following table as a reference, A4 is not 8.5 x 11.7 as you said:

  • M1212nf Scans come out huge when issued

    Hi all

I read some posts here regarding the scans coming out in great, but none applies to the m1212nf that seems. The only option for scanning you get is "Scan." I went through all the settings, including the definition of the DPI, color mode, and the scan size. No matter what I change, when the PDF file is emitted, it comes out to about 34.44 x 45,10 inches when scanning a normal letter size paper. No matter if it's the scan to email or scan to file, this is the same result. Even using the preview TWAIN dialog box, it shows that it scans the right size ~ 8.5 x 11, but when issued in PDF format, shows like 34.44 x 45,10. I have two of them in our office, a network and a local USB. It happens on both of them on different computers, so it is not an isolated incident. If someone can you please give me any indication on how to fix this it would be appreciated.

I had the same problem of pdf page size. They seem to have finally fixed in the new software download.

It took more than 6 hours of time on the cat and the time on the phone with a case Manager who says that the software on the CD is the same as on the website.

I'm scanning very old recipe cards.  No matter how to activate the map, or when I put it on the screen, at least one edge is cut, including the automatic feeding system, which is my preference by train.  The cards are 3 x 5 or 4 x 6.  I can't find anywhere for this HP7520 the settings.

    Barbjth2,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

We know not if you want to scan in receipts in the form of images or text.

Regardless of the end point, the following might help.

With the complete installation of the software functionality for the printer and assuming a recent version of the Windows operating system, you should have the shortcut Wizard printer installed on your desktop.

Double-click the Printer Wizard shortcut > scan a Document or Photo >

Select Photo of Document OR file file (as you prefer) >

This starts the process to create the sweep.

On the side right of the menu, under the Scan size >

Select, in the menu dropdown > any scanning area

The rest of the selections can generally be left as default values, even if it's for you and your situation.

    • In order to ensure that the results meet your expectations, do not forget that the scan preview is CHECKED.
